    Lightning

In the imp, this is ozone - as if a storm was about to start, but there are no trees or flowers or earth around to smell. On my skin, it's still strongly ozone, but the marine notes peek out just a little bit (the tang of salty air). Once it dries, it's very light - the definition of the "ozone" type scent - but there's just not enough here for me.

    Xiuhtecuhtli

In the imp, I get plumeria and incense - mostly incense. On my skin, it's definitely strongly incense - I'm not getting much else. It's a different incense than typical "church"-y incense, though - there's a higher, sharper note to it (not citrusy, but it reminds me of citrus - I suppose it could be that sweet orange). When it's dry, the tropical flowers have come way out - the incense gives it a dry, spicy tone in the background. Definitely unqiue, but not a wow for me.

    Anactoria

In the imp, this is amber, honey, and a just a touch of the floral - it's very sun-streaming-in-the-window. On my skin, the musk comes out a little more - and there's definitely something light, almost bright here - perhaps the currant? When it's dry, this definitely smells like warm, sweet skin - amber and musk. Nice!

    Earth Rat

In the imp, there's melon right off the bat. It's still strongly melon on my skin - it's really all I'm getting, with just a hint of bamboo and pine in the back. When it dries, it's still almost 100% melon - there are other, warmer scents on the fringes, but I can never pin them down. The longer I keep at it, it mellows out. I get a more blended fruitiness - it's fruity without being as bright and sharp as fruity scents can be. Very grounded (if you'll pardon the pun).

    Forbidden Fruit

In the imp, this is lightly floral - with just the faintest hint of citrus. On my skin, it's slightly sour. There's definitely something off here. When it dries, the sourness has gone away - this is just a very light, definitely innocent blend of light florals with just a hint of citrus. Nice, but not for me.

    The Presence of Love

In the imp, I get jasmine, just a hint of grapefruit, and musk. On my skin, I get a little more grapefruit, and it's a weird, beautiful combination with the jasmine - there's a little amber and musk in the back. When it dries: Weird - I'm getting dryer sheets. Is that even possible? I'll have to re-test this. Nope, definitely dryer sheets. If I try really hard, I can pick out the jasmine and the slightest, slightest hint of citrus, but mostly it just smells like "Summer Day" dryer sheets.

    Butterflies and Plovers

In the imp, my mortal enemy the patchouli is RIGHT THERE, but you can smell the citrus and floral. On my skin, the patchouli totally dominates this - but as it's on, the citrus peeks out and the ylang ylang shows its face. When it dries, it's much more well-blended than before, but the early stages kill it for me.

    Parlement of Foules

In the imp, I can smell the rose, but there's something warmer and sweeter over top. On my skin, it is a very pale rose, very light; the resins have receded quite a bit. When it dries, it's very light, very sweet (not in the candy way, like people are sweet) - very well-balanced, with the softness and warmth of the resins taking precedence. It's really nice, but not a WOW.

    The Red Queen

In the imp, I get cherry - a very candy-ish, sweet cherry. On my skin, I'm still getting a lot of cherry (which is great!), but woods have definitely come out - very true wood smell, like an unfinished piece of furniture. When it dries, it's amazing - deep mahogany and velvety woods is right - it's very true to life. But they totally overwhelm the cherry and currant, so I'll be passing it on.

    Squirting Cucumber

In the imp, it is green!! Green like fresh grass. On my skin, it gets slightly warmer, but it's still fresh green grass. When it dries, it's incredibly clean and light, but much less POW than before - it fades quite a bit. I like it, it's an amazing work of art - not for me, though.

    Hermia

In the imp, this has honeysuckle with a hint of amber and pepper. On my skin, it's all honeysuckle & amber. When it dries, I get both of the flowers, layered over the amber with just a hint of pepper. This is nice, but not a "wow" for me.

    I Married a Vampire from Planet X

In the bottle, this is incredibly subtle - just a hint of the white musk and some of the fruit. On my skin, it's very warm and dark at first - the myrrh, clove, caraway, a hint of the leather - then the brightness of the grapefruit rind and lemon balm come up. When it dries, it's much lighter than before - very complex, very well-blended - sort of stand-offish, refined, alien almost.

    Lunar Eclipse

In the bottle, it's very dark, indeed - definitely get frankincense, moss, myrrh, and tobacco. On my skin, there's a definitely smokiness to it, and a blackness - tobacco, myrrh, and vetiver. When it dries, it's lighter now (but lighter in weight, not lighter in color, if that makes sense) - the currant's come up, the tobacco is still richly present, there's a hint of the lavender, and in the far background, there's the musk, myrrh, and vetiver. Interesting, but not really for me.

    Cockaigne

In the bottle, this smells like sweet cakes indeed - mmm, delicious - with just a hint of the contrast of the wine's dryness. On my skin, the cakey smell is still dominant. When it dries, the wine is dominant now - a sort of fruity, sour smell - then the cakes, and the honey. The wine ruins it for me, unfortunately - there's something about it that just nauseates me. So sad - I really wanted to love this one.

    Versailles

In the bottle, this is very sweet, very subtle - there's a hint of citrus, overlaying the amber. On my skin, it's very sophisticated, very courtly - there's the brightness of the citrus, the warmth and sensuality of the jasmine, and a dryness that I always get from the orris. When it dries, it's very *rich* - very, very well-blended, nothing really sticks out, although I get a spike of orris toward the end - very sophisticated, but subtly sexual.

    Night-Gaunt

In the imp, I can definitely smell the fruit - especially the grapefruit and the kumquat. It's very hard to smell on my skin - the kumquat is definitely dominant, its juiciness, highlighted by the tartness of the grapefruit. When it dries, it's a fruity scent, but there's an almost spiciness to it that's really interesting.

    Eden

In the imp - mmmmm, fig, almond, honey. Delicious. On my skin, mmm, it's rich - fig, almond, the honey is stronger, and there's a hint of coconut. When it dries, it smells very rich, very thick - fig, honey - very sexy. Nice!

    The Flower Song

In my decant, this is rich and dry, with a strong, bright overtone of pomegranate. On my skin - I love the pomegranate in this - it's very sweet-tart, and grounded by the barley and the river reeds. When it dries, there's still the pomegranate grounded by the other notes - this is a great scent for pomegranate fans.

    Hetairae

In the imp, I get patchouli, honey, and clove. On my skin, it's very warm - the patchouli's there but not overpowering (patchouli is one of my scent foes, so this is good). The honey sweetens it up, and the sharpness of the clove plays off of it. When it dries, the patchouli is gone, and the way that the honey plays off the clove is great!

    Aglaea

In the imp, this is peach wine with just a hint of amber. On my skin, it's a beautiful rich peach - the wine-ness of it fades - with a foundation of amber. When it dries, it's a great blend of peach, amber, musk - really nice.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

In the bottle, this is all cardamom and chocolate. On my skin, I definitely get chocolate up front, then the cardamom takes over, way over. When it dries, it's all cardamom up front - there's the lightest hint of musk in the back, but definitely no cherries, no French Vanilla, no caramel, and no more chocolate. Spicy and warm.

    Cheshire Moon

In the bottle, this is sweet and fruity - I've read reviews where they mention a certain cakiness, and I can definitely see that. There's the sweet fleshiness of the guava, the bite if the lemongrass, and the light floralness of hibiscus & cherry blossom - together, it's almost sugary. On my skin, the grapefruit is not instantly identifiable, but I have a feeling that's what's behind this light, almost sharp top note that is really lifting this up and keeping it from being heavy. On my skin it's very light, and very well-rounded. The cake-ness is gone, and it's hard to pick out individual notes, but it's quite lovely. When it dries, it's very soft, almost velvety, but also light - again, it's incredibly well-balanced; I can't pick out any individual notes at this point.

Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal

In the bottle, I get vanilla cream!! with a hint of grapefruit and pear. Excellent start. On my skin, I get the brightness of the grapefruit and pear, the warmth of the pink pepper, and the sweetness of the vanilla cream. When it dries, mmmm, it's such a great blend of the fruitiness of the grapefruit & pear and the foodiness of the vanilla cream - definitely a keeper for someone like me, who loves foody scents.

    Tanuki

In the bottle, I get the woodsy-ness of the pine at first, and then the sweet and rich florals of plum blossom and flowering cherry. On my skin, the sweet sharpness of yuzu (which I recognize from Aizen-Myoo) comes out, and mixes really well with the light florals. When it dries - wow, this is gorgeous - just light, floral, but sweet; based on the concept, I would have expected something earthier, and not quite as up my alley. But I'm keeping this one!

    Harvest Moon 2005

In the imp, this is very rich, very complex - I get the fruits way, way in the back but the forefront is very woodsy/herbal: ivy, amaranth, sage. On my skin, the mulling spices come way up - the apple and pears come up, amid a bouquet of flowers. When it dries, it's really nice, sort of a quintessential autumn scent - light spice, rich fruit, warm florals.
