Weenie SW 2014 help&answers

Here are the copious lists and links:   Goodreads   Etsy   Amazon   Pinterest   Deviantart     And questions answered below:   PUMPKIN?   I like it as a vegetable(mashed, fried, seeds) or in zucchini-bread-like recipes, as a decorative(thought I do lean more towards Spooky/Elegant/Halloweenie/realistic/fairytale, and not country/Americana/primitive), and pumpkin spiced things only as the occasional home fragrance(candles, spray,etc.). I don't eat pumpkin pie or pumpkin spiced baked goods-- whether it's psychosomatic or because it has Allspice, pumpkin pie makes my throat close. The one exception to the 'no pumpkin spice foods' thing is Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, which I do really like. BPAL pumpkin containing perfumes tend to go very buttery and cloyingly sweet on me, so probably no to those as well. There have been a couple of exceptions, which I can track down if you really want me to, but I'm fine without pumpkin perfume.   How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread) I feel like those sound delicious. I don't, personally, like dill pickles(or dill anything ,really-- except the plant, which is pretty-- though I would totally give dill pickles to my dad, who does like them), but sour pickles or pickled things, and breads, jams, jellies, chutneys, etc. all sound great!     3. Trading Post wants? I've got public wishlists on both the BPTP and BPAL websites, under 'Usagi'. Of the top of my head, things that I would really like to try testers of are Nectar atmo., Chorion atmo., Passion Flower bath oil, or Phlox bath oil. 4. What direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? And also feel free to list any retail brands you really don't like. I'd prefer to not have any Smashbox, Mary Kay, or anything not cruelty-free. I'm also not big into the mass market straight-to-you-by-representative things, like Avon, Pampered Chef, Party Lite-- not that they don't have cool stuff. I've just bought their stuff and found myself not using it. 5. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? I rarely drink coffee, and I try to only have decaf. I do have access to a Keurig machine. I prefer white, green, herbal teas and fruit tisanes. Black tea and coffee mix drinks(like Pumpkin Spice Lattes) are reserved for special treats. Caffeine doesn't seem to want to be my friend. 6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? Yes, and bake, too. Kitchen gadgets are great. Seasonal themed things-- forms, sprinkles, spices, recipes-- would be especially lovely.   7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? I would love your creative endeavors. Even if you don't think you should because you aren't a "professional" or whatever, anything you took the time to make me would be awesome and loved. Craft supplies are always welcome.   8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? Ancient cultures- Geek Minoan, Mycenaean, Pictish, Celtic, proto-Celtic, Germanic, Norse, Egyptian, Sumerian, Phoenician; all that good stuff. Modern Cultures- Japan; they just have a unique and interesting combination of old, new, and modified foreign extraction. They've also got marimo, Akitas, wagashi, and anime/manga, which are all awesome, too. I feel an innate connection towards things about people who are between two cultures-- how, somehow being a bit of both really makes you kind of neither, and you have to consciously select which aspects to present. It seems to reflect the struggle that everyone goes through, trying to find a place in the world-- only with being in between worlds, you realize it more actively. 9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? Maybe not pinup, but sure on the rest? I like fantasy and maybe naturey stuff. I really don't like how I look, so maybe not a self portrait-- unless you wanted to make a me that looked nothing like me, which could be awesome-- and I would rather not have loved ones, as those would one day have to be put away because of sadness. I would rather be able to display your art all the time. I apologize. I had slightly more coherent answers to questions before I erased my own post because I am a *genius*.   10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? Watching Youtube, gardening, spending time with the plants, drawing, reading, writing, sleeping, crochet; I just started art journaling. 11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? Kind of? I don't play, but I like the stuff that goes along with it-- fancy, many sided dice, world-building/character books (I have Changeling, Mage: the Ascension, Vampire: Dark Ages, Code of the Harpers, Leaves from the Inn of the Last Home), little figurines. That kind of stuff is really fun to browse through.   12. DVD movies or games that you wish would magically appear in your hands? Can they be used, through Amazon? Used is fine. I have a bunch of stuff on various wishlists that I would like to have copies of-- physical or digital. As far as things that would appear right now, that I could watch this second... Movies: The Raven, Stonehearst Asylum(which is not out yet, but looks awesome), and, maybe Waxworks I&II-- because I am trying to get my Halloween on early, and haven't seen either in a *while*. Games, I would probably need to buy new consoles for most of the ones I've been eyeballing(and that is so not happening). Among that list are Rise of Nightmares and Silent Hills(not out yet). As far as what I could actually play, Katamari, Some kind of hidden object/puzzle game, Skyrim, Oblivion, another Harvest Moon game? I've borrowed Tree of Tranquility from my best friend, but I'm not really playing right now. My husband won't make me lunch, and I was disappointed. LOL 13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? Candy is awesome! I'll try anything that isn't an allergy or dislike(or bugs, I really have no desire to experiment with crunchy garden denizens).   14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? Umm... Slenderman? Pewdiepie? I got nothing. Someone mentioned Sailor Moon, though. I love Sailor Moon(but haven't watched the new show yet; bad fangirl). 15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. I put all my social media links in the spreadsheet, which is linked(I think) in TwilightEyes sig.. Fair warning, though. I am an incredibly boring Facebook stalk. I repost stuff-- mostly with baby animals, and send photos from my garden to Facebook. That's about it. But you are welcome to add me.   16. Anybody interested in something from RCCC, whether it's con-exclusive merch or from a particularexhibitor or artist? If you see something there that you think I would like, chances are, I will. 17. How important to you is regular contact / chatter with your witch? Other than knowing, at the beginning, that I have a Witch(so that I am not needlessly annoying other participants with answering questions in my usually verbose manner), contact level is up to my Witch. Whatever you are comfortable with is totally cool with me. PM and chatting on a daily basis is cool. If you want to be a ninja Witch that's okay, too. Anything in between is just fine. So long as you are comfortable and have fun.   18. Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? I do. My current interest is hidden object/puzzle games, like those from Big Fish.   19. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? Either would be fine. 20. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? Not enough time/money/space? I don't know... Needing to get things organized in a fashion such that it will stay organized with minimal maintenance. 21. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? i.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… That would be lovely.   22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? I don't think so? *knocks on wood* ;p Oh, no Spongebob. I just don't like it, and it also reminds me of someone I am not particularly fond of. And, dead things, or anything made with fur. 23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? I am neither Vegan nor vegetarian, but I would *love* to try gelatin-free marshmallows. I also like puddings made with carrageenan instead of gelatin. I don't know about gummies. Are they as sproingy as traditional gummi bears? I had some vegan ones a long time ago and they were sadly squishy. 24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? Apples are awesome! Apple scent, apple flavor-- except for having a slight dislike towards poor apple Skittle. It's only because they replaced lime, which was my second favorite flavor. Y U take my lime? It was an odd marketing decision, in my opinion, but the school kids seem to like it, so I guess it works. 25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? I don't do fur, and prefer more natural fibers in general. But fur is the only thing I don't do.   26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? Christmas/Yule ornaments are great. 27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? She's okay. I'm a bigger fan of Miffy/Nijntje. As far as mass-marketed merchandise of cuteness type stuff, I like San-X Sentimental Circus, and specifically Shappo the Ringmaster rabbit.   28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? Is this a magical week where I could literally learn anything by the end of it? At least one of every major language group, and reading all the ancient scripts, plus animal and plant telepathy-- if there were a couple of days left over. Oh, and possibly playing folk harp and piano well, being able to sing at the same time. Why set the bar low, if it's a magic learning weekend, right? I didn't say 'breathe under water', I could have. 29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? Yes. Favorite poets include W.B. Yeats, Nuala ni Dhomhnaill, and Shel Silverstein. Does Tori Amos count? She writes her own lyrics, and I really like many of them. As far as subject matter, I like fun stuff, nature and fantasy, and also people thoughts. 30. Would you enjoy receiving something related to a favorite Disney character? Sure. Favorite Disney Princess is Ariel, and I like Scuttle, Sebastian, and Flounder as well. I can't think of other characters right now, but there are probably a lot of them. I was big on Disney as a kid. 31. How do you feel about cute things as decorations or accessories? (Example: Would you enjoy this stationery - or do you prefer elegant/creepy/neutral stuff?) Cute things are awesome. That store has Sentimental Circus! I also like elegant-creepy. I'm not sure what that would be, specifically, but it sounds awesome. 32. What is something you'd really like to receive from your witch? Please be as specific as possible - no, "Oh whatever she thinks is fine!" I would like something that was personal to them-- maybe a craft or something they picked out with me in mind. I realize that this sentence basically translates to 'whatever my Witch thinks is fine', and I apologize, but it's true. 33. Go to your music source of choice - on random or shuffle setting if possible - & share with us the 10 most recent songs/artists. I'll trump that. Here are several that were recently liked on Pandora, plus the ones that I have just listened to while answering these questions: Danza Kuduro- Don Omar Take a Hint- Victorious cast All about the Bass- Meghan Trainor Young and Beautiful- Lana del Rey Do What U Want- Lady GaGa Give it Up to Me- Sean Paul Darkest- Tokimonsta Black Widow- Iggy Azalea Monster- Skillet Wicked & Wild- Cecile Mr. Brightside- the Killers Making Christmas- NMBC soundtrack Obedear- Purity Ring Teardrop- Massive Attack Mas Maiz- N.O.R.E. Shalott- Emilie Autumn Aim for the Head- Creature Feature 34. Tarot cards, rune stones and/or other divination tools yay or nay? Yay!   35. Do you have a Celeb crush? or someone who you just can't get enough of....other than your SO Not really? Hugh Jackman is adorable, if I had to pick someone. He sings and dances. There are some actors that I really enjoy watching in their roles and am that much more likely to see a movie if they're in it, like Gary Oldman or Mila Jovovich   36. Glitter? are you okay with it, or hate it like the plague? Glitter is awesome. 37. If there was another time period other than now that described your style/aesthetics, what would it be? All time periods I could live in need to include flushing toilets. They just do. I could live in a magical steampunk(or just straight up magical) world with flushing toilets. Okay, I just totally read that question wrong. But it's staying. Everyone must know the importance of flushing toilets. I also don't do well without some sort of bust support. I have strange needs. I like magic fantasy ancient world/or otherworld aesthetic?   38. If you had to pick one or two quotes to live by, what would it be and why? I don't knoooooow! 'If today were perfect, there would be no need for tomorrow' is a nice thought, but I don't know how much of a rule to live by it would make. I just read one from Ralph Waldo Emerson a couple of days ago, which went ' to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.' It reminded me of my best friend, whose mother is some extension of Evil Incarnate. Again, though, I don't know if it really reflects me or is a goods rule to live by. I will try to think about this question and come back to it with something reasonable. EDIT: I thought of something! "It matters to this one." "Those who don't believe in magic, will never find it." ~Roald Dahl I don't completely agree with the second one, because life is full of people stumbling upon magic, and believing after the fact. But I really like the sentiment.     39. Do you prefer physical books? CD books? eBooks? If eBooks do you have preferred format, kindle/nook/kobo/PDF/ePub/ect? eAudio? I prefer paper books, but have a strict policy of never turning down a book. Ebooks and all will take me longer to read, though ,as I have no ereader and will need to read them on my computer.   40. Smut! Yes or no? If yes, what kink, er, kind? Sure! Paranormal. I don't even know what qualifies as a kink anymore. I don't appreciate non-con. Other than that, so long as it's humanoid on humanoid, it's all good? 41. Ebooks! Yes or no? Sure. I have a strict policy of never turning a book away. 42. If you were to get a custom bottle from House of Gloi made for you what notes would create your perfect blend? Hmm, I did this a while ago, but it turned out being much better suited to my best friend(which did work out, because her men do not like her favorite BPAL, and the HoG might be preferable). I like the idea of red musk/sweet cream/cardamom/Tonka, red musk/orange blossom/ Tonka/cardamom, or red musk/dragon's blood/fall leaves/tonka.   43. If your witch were to take a photograph (or paint or whatever) of something just for you, what would it be? Landscape? Flower? Critter? Something to illustrate a favorite quote? Plants, animals, artistic rendering of a favorite quote, or a landscape(nature as opposed to cityscape).   44. What is your favorite Halloween animal or other symbol/decoration? Bats. It would be a toss up between bats and black cats, but my furbaby died this spring(<--edited because that made it sound like he ran away), and it really hurts-- his little brother is still here, but he has also been ill this year. It's a year of loss and medical foofooness for our family. So, bats. I also like skeletal trees and elegant spiderwebs. Halloween stuff, in general, is awesome. 45. Makeup, especially of the indie variety. Nail polish, nail wraps, eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss, etc. Y/N? Specific preferences (color, finish, product, brand, etc.)? Yes! All of those kinds sound good, though I would prefer stayput lip products(stains are great). No talc, where possible, and as many #-free on the nail polish. I'd love to try a Rainbow Honey mystery bag, or any loose eyeshadows. for nails, translucent jellies with glitter flakes or mylar, or glitter sand, are my favorites. I'm currently searching for a really good vivid, fiery orange metallic, lustre, or shimmer liner or shadow. 46. How do you feel about profanity and off-color humor? Trollfucker is my favorite cussword. I don't use profanity overly much, but I'm not terribly bothered by it. Off-color and/or black/macabre humor are fine, though I don't appreciate discriminatory humor. 47. I make hairsticks...would you like/use them? I would love them. I just cut my hair really short this spring, so it might be a while before I could use them(though I could technically put one side up, since the cut is asymmetrical), but I would still enjoy them. 48. Does anyone here LARP? If so, what kind of LARP? And what kind of character do you play? I don't. But I will totally wear "cosplay" type things for normal. I like quality wigs, interesting accessories, and pretty clothes. 49. Would you completely freak out if I sent you a chocolate covered scorpion or some other food oddity? This includes things like 'bacon powder' from thinkgeek.com. Please, no bacon chocolate. I didn't like it. It may just be that it was maple bacon, but I think I generally just don't appreciate bacon in my dessert foods. I wouldn't freak out if you sent me a chocolate covered scorpion, but I probably wouldn't be thrilled. Tasting bugs is not really on my bucket list. Unusual foods, however, could be cool. My father is currently in love with pickled brussel sprouts(aka "frog balls"). 50. This has kind of been covered, but, are you ok with receiving canned jam (from a veteran jammer!) and if so, what flavors would you like and not like? Yes. I love jam. Perhaps not blueberry, but currant or tart marmalade, raspberry, or apple butter? 51. Let's talk nail polish. What colors do you love? Hate? Which brands are you dying to try? Have you ever used indies? Do you like glitter? Any textures to avoid (glitter, sand, etc)? I love colors. I like glitter. I like glitter sand! I'd love to try Rainbow Honey. My only real experience with indie polish is from the lovely Forumite sth0, who made me some gorgeous polishes. I prefer all the possible frees.   52. How do you feel about getting a special Halloween plushie? That's sounds lovely. 53. I'm in Japan, anything specific you might want from the land of the rising sun? I like Japanese candies and snacks, San-X sentimental Circus(Shappo is my favorite), general cute things, Sailor Moon,Free!(Iwatobi swim club), and tons of other stuff. But please don't stress or go out of your way for it, dear Witch(if it's down the street from you, awesome, though). I've got Gardena and Little Tokyo around two hours away(I may or may not be heading there to do some shopping for my Witchee), so if I'm particularly desperate for furikake or something, my sad butt can make an effort and drive down there.   54. Are there any GC scents that you know you love, but for whatever reason, keep putting off buying bottles of? Liz, Love-in-Idleness. There may be a couple of others on my Forum wishlist. 55. I know not everyone likes Lush products, but if you do, which Lush items would you like to get from your Witch? I like Lush. Sandstone soap, fresh face masks(Brazen Honey), or maybe a massage bar(After 8:30)? I *love* the scent of Honey, I washed the Kids and would totally use it as hand soap, despite the SLS. 56. Is there anywhere (in the US) that you are dying to get away to? Also when would you be able to get away. Would this even be something you were interested in? If so, go look at the Southwest sale for routes and dates and times. What a lovely thought! I'd love to visit New Orleans, the Florida Keys, the Arboreal Rainforest, Kauai, and Salem for fall leaves and history. But I don't really have funds to be staying anywhere right now, so it would be a sad trip of flying to the airport, and then flying home again. 57. If you are ok with receiving t-shirts, what size are you, do you prefer tissue tees, normal crew tees, babydoll etc? I am. I wear M or L, usually. but I own a sewing machine and have scissors, so anything works. Tissue tees are nice; I prefer longer tops, and a v or scoop neck, because my chest does not need to look any larger than it already does.   58. THINKGEEK! Who loves it - do you have a wishlist on there?? What are some things you are jonesing for on there for under $20? I have never purchased anything from ThinkGeek. Umm, the telescope ring, gyroscope, Hobbit journals, lumivolt, "no admittance except on party business"-- and a couple of other things that are out of stock-- look really cool.   59. Zombies, yes or no? Real zombies, like people who have been zombified, are very interesting, from an anthropological perspective. Horror zombies are okay, but not my super fabulous monster fandom. 60. Would you like arm warmers/fingerless gloves? If so, what length? just beyond the wrist, almost to the elbow, full sleeves? Sure. full sleeve sounds awesome, but the other two lengths are great, too. * *note, I have many fingerless gloves and do not wear them as often as I should, so don't worry if this wasn't in your plans.   61. Do you feel a particular affinity for a specific animal/s? Bats, cats, hedgehogs, otters, seals... dolphins used to be on that list, until a fourth grader asked me if dolphins were really rapists-- I, of course, told them 'no'. But then I went home and found out it's kind of true. It was like someone shot my unicorn. 62. Anyone have any Paintbox Soapworks loves? My favorite scent from her is Big in Japan, and favorite product is sorbetto. Soaps are great, too. The lotion was nice, but not really hydrating enough for my sad, parched skin- perhaps as a frequent use hand lotion? Scents that I haven't tried but currently top the list, include the Bee's Lament, Candy Floss, Whiskers, and Pink Sand.   63. How would you feel if your witch or a minion of your witch showed up in person at your house with goodies? Thrilled? Annoyed? Completely creeped out? Foremost, I would feel bad that they had driven out to bumblemoo, only to roast and have nothing to do. Second, I would apologize for the state of the house. It is a mess right now. Hopefully, someone would be home, to let them in and offer a glass of water, because it's hot. I don't think I would be creeped out or annoyed, though-- just a bit at a loss, which is fairly normal. 64. Do you have a ravelry account? Tell me about your yarn obsessions. orihime is my ravelry ID. I'm not on there very much, but have tons of potential projects hearted-- some for me some for others. I like yarn? I especially like really soft yarn, like bamboo or silk. I don't have anything against acrylics, so long as they are soft, too. I am a yarn hoarder, though I plan to use some of it for my Witchee and my Pumpkin in the 13 Nights swap.   65. Sock Dreams, yay or nay? Sure! Here is a slightly outdated wishlist: http://www.sockdreams.com/_users/wishlists/f442d13393feac2 Though, it isn't like socks go out of favor, right? I'll add a couple of new things, just in case. Also, a lot of the nylon-type ones(like the kitty and bunny tights) are on eBay for about $2-5.... :sideglance: not that sockdreams isn't *absolutely awesome*, just gotta make those sock dollars stretch 66. Knitted items like scarves, shawls, dishclothes....yay or nay? Favorite fibers? Favorite colors? Yes to knitted items. Favorite colors are probably favorite knit colors also? Bamboo silk, super soft cotton, and that acrylic that is like ultra soft fluffy mohair(don't remember what it's called) are favorites. 67. Is your Amazon WL up-to-date? In as much as a list that big can be, I believe so? I will go check again, just in case. 68. If you were to receive handmade caramels, would it matter if they were made with raw cream (unpasteurized)? All cream is good cream.   69. Would you enjoy getting a sampling of quality incense taken from various sources? Are there types of incense you know you don't like? Would you want a burner for loose incense and a few charcoals to get you started with that, or would you rather stick to simpler types? Definitely, yes. I have never tried the charcoal incense kind. It sounds awesome.   70. I know we already had a question about needed kitchen accessories, but what about spices? Spice are made of love. I'm always up for good ground ginger and paprika, recently discovered the amazing joy of vanilla bean paste(best cookies and puddings ever?), and would love to try unusual or new-to-me spices and seasonings.   71. Would you like handmade stationary or cards? How about a quill pen? I like stationary, I like pens. I don't know how good I would be with a quill pen, being left-handed, but you never know until you try, and they look awesome. 72. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "gimme that ghost pepper!" and 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" Where is your heat tolerance? Hmm, probably somewhere between a 3 and a 5? Picante, but not so spicy that I can't taste the food. I like putting sambal and Louisiana Hots sauce in sauces, soups, and on foods, and order curries 'medium'. No Ghost peppers.   73. What is your favorite type of Halloween candy? Traditionally, that would have been mini boxes of Dots. Now, I don't know... Cadbury's Scream Eggs! This is a thing, and I have not made it up, right? Did I just dream that there were Halloween Cadbury eggs? I know they're real! Other than that, the creepy things jelly gummies; haven't seen those is a long time, though. 74. Do you need or want any cosy footwear, like fluffy slippers, or slipper socks etc? Sure, those are nice. I'm usually barefoot a lot, though, and run through things like that unfortunately quickly. I got some MJ slipper socks one Christmas, and had worn holes in them by March? Maybe, secretly, I am a descendant of one of the Twelve Dancing Princesses. 75. What do you most look forward to each Fall? Girasol's answer to this was very affinitive-- only I have no tiny, adorable humanoid. The changing of the weather, and the cooler breezes and golden quality of light are something I look forward to every year. And Halloween, although Halloween has been becoming progressively more disappointing every year, and making the world a sadder place. I get why people don't trick or treat anymore, but it's still sad. Anyway, I like golden days, and cool nights. 76. What gadgets do you use in your everyday life and would you like a cool case for them - with your favourite fandom or artwork or saying? Right now, I use an Amazon Fire phone. It came with a free year of TV, and that was a good deal. Before that, I was dead set on getting a Samsung Galaxy Note IV, to replace my aged Note I. I still may get the IV at a later date. I love my Fire Phone, but it lacks some of the functionality that I want for use at work. I'd love a case or protective decal for my Fire phone, though. There is not so much awesomeness available for them. I've also got a HP Pavilion g7 laptop, and would enjoy decals or cases for that as well, if you were so inclined.   77. Are there any beauty accessories you need or would like? For example make-up brushes, facial brushes or eyelash curlers. I will always take more makeup brushes-- especially small, angled liners, stipplers, and foundation brushes. I have the oldest tweezer ever, but it works pretty darn well, so I don't really need one. Cotton pads/balls, clips or bands to hold my hair back while washing my face, and spoolies are also good?   78. Would you be disappointed to get one big box, or would you prefer a bunch of little ones? And would you be disappointed if your witch actually had it together early and sent it to you sooner than later? I would not be disappointed, at this point, even if I get no box, because Witch, you are fabulous and amazing, and heartwarming and all that good stuff. So, anything else is frosting and completely up to you. 79. Stores are putting out their halloween PJs and undies! Would you be happy to get any in a package? And if so, what size? For PJ pants, do you like cotton or flannel? Woohoo spooky pants! I would be happy for underthings and pajamas, either or both. I do XL(or bigger, seriously, float me in fabric) for pajamas, and a size M/6 in underpants.   80. Do you like M&Ms? I'm not vehemently opposed to them, but I don't find myself eating them very often.   81. How about wax melts? I don't have a burner, but, sure? I can figure something burny out. 82. Would you like a subscription for Spotify? I don't do Spotify? I have free Pandora, and lots of music through Amazon prime, so I think I'm good. 83. What scents from the Lillith update would you like to try? All of them! but you did already cover that in your wonderful emails, dear Witch, and there's no need to get any of them for me. 84. Would you be interested in receiving a box of sugar cube skulls? These look really cute, but I bet I could make them at home--I may even already have a skull tray.... 85. Skin care routine? Fave cleanser? Toner? Moisturizer? What about body lotions? Any particular brand or scent? Lip balms? Yay or nay? This, you also covered, but if you need more info, I can make a *really* long list of all the things I have tried and what was and wasn't awesome, in my quest for the ultimate skincare trouting routine. Always up for more alcohol-free toners, or those hydration mist things(I realize it's essentially aerosolized mineral wat, but my skin is *that* dry). Currently loving 100% Pure lotion. It's light, but moisturizing.   86. Is there anything you would like from Salem MA (mugs, keychains, postcards, etc.or witchy supplies like incense, candles, books)? I like anything. It's somewhere I want to go, one day, preferably in fall. I'd love to see pictures you've taken, especially if the leaves were turning. 87. Would you be interested in any of the items in LisaNut's etsy shop? Oo, knitwear! Okay, the Find Your Way Home hat is sooo cute, and--even though I shouldn't add to my hoard of scarves-- scarves, or the adorable armwarmer/wristlets. 88. Spiders (as in cute knit kind) yes or no? Yes, I like spiders. My best friend has a phobia of them, so I have a basic understanding of the horror associated with them(as in 'oh my god, she just ran out into traffic to avoid a Daddy Long Legs?!!') but I do not, personally, suffer from this. Spiders can be really cute, even if the Black Widows sometimes piss me off and make me paranoid for the furbabies. 89. Pillows (the mostly decorative type)? If it's huggable or headrestable, I'm for it. 90. Any kind of bags - big, small, medium, purse, grocery, etc? I like those reusable grocery totes that fold into tiny bits(but I may be picking up a bunch at the Daiso this weekend, while shopping for my Witchee). I like totes, though, so yeah. 91. Is there anything special coming up in your life? No? I suppose if I get through the Holiday season with some semblance of sanity intact, it could be cause for celebration? I am, one day hopefully soon, going to get that Etsy shop going, because the stuff needs to be in loving homes and not packing boxes-- plus it could be an opportunity to test whether loved ones and children are just being overly kind saying that I'm a good artist. I'm heavily inclined to believe the overly kind idea, but-- who knows-- maybe I can sell little chibi ATCs and fantasy pictures now that I have some Copics and don't flake out on coloring things... Yessss......   I don't know if either of those things qualifies as special, though-- Unless you mean "special", as in you're a special snowflake, Usagi. I am a Special Snowflake, dammit! I am a made out of high-powered blue raspberry Koolaid snowflake! *adopts manly action hero pose*   Today was a long day. Why, Puberty, why??? They were such adorable little kids. Where did the drama and defiance come from????   92. Which one scent would you want from each of the following updates: Metamorphosis, Lilith and GC? Hmm... just one? I'm going to do either/or on the first two, although you should certainly not feel that you need to get decants of any of them for me(I am secretly inundated with lovely things I have yet to test). Metamorphosis: this one is hard! Most of them sound amazing--except for one note that is likely to amp of FUBAR on my skin. Okay. Either Question Mark or Giant-Yucca skipper(partially because yuccas are part of our desert ). Liliths: Ghost Houses of Goofballs? GC: Liz (or, if it needs to be an impable, Love-in-Idleness) 93. Are you interested in anything from NYCC? Sure! Is this a BPAL question? 94. Would something from the Tokyo Game Show (e.g. postcards, fans) possibly interest you? Sure! Free! Iwatobi Swim club/Eternal Summer (especially Makoto-related ), Sailor Moon, any random swag goodies that would fall into my billion and a half fandoms would be totally appreciated and loved. 95. Would you enjoy any of these couple rings? Or anything from the same store's Halloween collection? No on the couples rings, yes on the other things, especially cuffs or keychains or floating locket things. I like the Nightmare Before Christmas sayings, like "I am the Shadow on the moon at night", and the Beetlejuice one "Never Trust the Living" 96. If you imbibe at all ... preference between: wine/beer/cocktails and then glassware and/or bar-ware? cocktail gadgetry? Books on the subject/recipes? would you want sample bottles of local/regional/small batch craft spirits if they were home decanted and labeled? I don't drink, but any sort of liqueur for cooking might be awesome. 97. Would you like some chai, lemon, rose water or other flavored sugar cubes? Rose water sounds amazing, but others flavors are probably awesome, too. 98. Jamberry nail wraps? I've never tried them, but, sure! Seasonal sounds cool! 99. If you had to choose one currently available book (used-but-obtainable counts if you do used) costing $20 or under for your Witch to buy for you, what would it be? The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern-- because I have wanted to read it since before it came out, and somehow continuously gloss over the fact that I want to get it.   100. Are there five things under $25 at Birchbox you would like? 1. Avene Thermal Spring Water spray yo' face thingie (seriously, it is so good) 2. 100% Pure body cream in Pink Grapefruit 3. any 100% Pure nail product(except the colors 'Jam' and 'Forever', because we have those) 4.Harney &Sons Dragon Pearl Jasmine Tea 5. ClariSEA charcoal detox exfoliant 101. Do you want anything from the Fatherhood update at the Post? I don't know; that probably means 'no'? 102. Street art! Into it? Not into it? Meh? Some of it is gorgeous adorable, or arresting. Some of it is just kind of meh. 103. If you could only pick one note that you love (e.g. Vanilla, Orange, Lavender, Rose) & you could only wear/have perfume, etc in that note, what would it be? A. That would be so sad.   B.either that exotic musk that I swear is red musk but have not found which one yet-- I just smell it in random locations and on strangers occasionally and think 'mmm'; could be a chemistry issue, and I will thus never have it. *soooob* Or some form of citrus scent, like yuzu, mandarin, or bergamot-- or citrus musk. Is that a real thing? 104. What are you interested in from the NYCC exclusive list? Don't think I even really considered.... maybe I will wishlist testers for later aftermarket acquisition, but no real dire need. Thank you, though.   105. Most anticipated "Weenie blends? Hi, lovely Witch! We discussed this. Totally good there. 106. Caffeine or no? And is this a health or preference? Try to avoid caffeine, mostly due to it being the likely culprit behind some fairly painful health things. But I do drink caffeinated tea-- green and white, mostly. I've also been on a 'OMG the Pepsi has real sugar!!!' kick over the summer. Don't normally drink soda... kind of paying for that now.-__-' Whatever, real sugar Pepsi. 107. Are you interested in anything from the MAC Rocky Horror or the e.l.f. Disney Princess make up collections? I love both Rocky and Ariel, but from the MAC update, only the polishes really strike me(and*honestly* don't need to have more; especially if it means someone risking life and limb to get them during a crazed fan rush), and only really like the packaging on the Ariel ELF. Ariel is my favorite princess, I'm kind of biased.   108. I pass this shop every day, If you were my witchee would you like a custom chocolate bar? What would you choose? Plain, white or milk and with what? 55% dark, with raspberry, orange zest(or candied orange, I can't remember what it said), and popping candy.   109. Would you like to try chocolate covered Turkish Delight or flower flavoured things (Rose and Violet chocolates)? Heck yes.

13 Nights of Halloween Questions list

What are your thoughts on yarn and handmade yarny things?     For bath and body products: do you have a bathtub or shower?     Dear Swappee: is there anything you might have forgotten to put on your survey?     Are there any particular fandoms that you follow?     Do you own a wax/oil burner? If you do not like necklaces, what kinds of jewelry (if any) would you want to wear?     What about hot chocolate/malt drinks?     If you said that you are interested in books (or DVDs or any relatively big standalone sort of item), would you be okay with having multiples of such items spread over a couple of days, or would you prefer 13 distinct themish packages?   How into the day theming mentioned in the first post are you? All themed? A few maybe if they are fun? Not at all? Speaking of DVDs - are you interested in receiving movies and if so, what sort?   Back to the books - if you said you would like books, would you prefer I send you, say, my favorite Halloween anthology or something else spooky/scary, or something off your wishlist/want-to-read on goodreads?   Process question: Do you want to know who is sending to you right away, or would you prefer to be surprised on the last day, to the extent possible? Likewise, do you have a preference for specifically numbered packages or for reach in and grab according to your fancy?   Would you be interested in solid perfume? What about lip balm?     There was a lot of mention of not wearing costumes/not being allowed to at workplaces. Would you be interested in goth style or Halloween-themed(pumpkins, ghosts, etc.) normal clothes to wear instead, and what would be suitable?     I'm going to Rose City Comic Con during the shopping window. Any exhibitors/vendors/comics/etc. you're particularly interested in? OMG THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A GOONIES "NEVER SAY DIE" T-SHIRT! I AM TOTALLY GETTING THAT! Ahem. Yes. I mean... There are things! Do you have a favourite colour scheme? How do you feel about stickers (and stationery in general)?     How do we feel about fibercrafting (knit, crochet, etc.)? wearables? crafted critters? If you would like a scarf or something similar, would you like it to be themed, like fall colors, or have a skull or other halloweenie motif/border?     What makes you feel pampered?     We've covered what critters you don't like, but what about the critters that you DO like? What are your favorite animals/creatures, real or imagined?     Is there anything specifically Canadian you'd like? Maple things, chocolate bars, or any of our creepy chip flavours?     Does anything from Paintbox Soapworks catch your eye?     Is there is any TAZO tea you have a hankering for? If so, ground (and for what kind of filter) or whole bean? How about Starbucks coffee via (italian, columbia, anniversary, vanilla latte?) or Iced coffee via (caramel or regular?) Fruit flavored via (berry hisbiscus, cool lime, strawberry lemonade?) Pumpkin Spice Latte via? Starbucks K-cups or Verismo pods? Coffee/tea travel mugs or ceramic home mugs? Coffee maker (french press) or tea steeper? Anything else from Starbucks/Teavana? Syrups, honey, whatever?   How would you feel about a gently-used card game? For example, something I may have purchased several years ago and maybe played with my daughter *twice* before she became a moody teenager, and too cool for card and/or board games?     Alcoholic beverages in your goodies-- yay or nay-- if yay, what kind?   CANDY CORN--- YAY OR NAY?     Name at least one thing that you really wouldn't like to receive in your package.     I have eyeshadow pigments which have been decanted from--as in the powder tapped out into another container, never used directly. (I don't use very much makeup, though I love it, so I keep shadow pigments clean so I can safely share.) Would a jar of pigment handled thus bother you or are you ok with cosmetic-type stuff that has not been directly touched?     For those with fiber allergies, is it ok if you get, say, an ornament/amigur-whatsit yarn thing that has wool in the blend, as long as it's not something to be worn? Would you prefer your package heavier on one side or the other?     Any guilty pleasures? TV show you're embarassed to admit you like? Any other you are looking for ?   Do you like Hello Kitty?

Solstice Swap Answers

Question 1: If I made some ephemeral art that was meant to be burned as the sacrifice, would you have a safe place to do that (a fireplace, a backyard, a bbq grill lol)? Nothing big, maybe 6 inches tall.

I have places to safely burn things, but I don't know how I would feel about burning someone's art, regardless of intention. I could give it a shot, though?

Question 2: Would you want something from this website for your "light"? They're local to me and do beautiful work and I get a 20% discount. ha ha So if you see something you love, speak up. http://www.curiouscustoms.com/homey/

I think that the cloud wall sconce and the patterns on the sun and waterwave lanterns are beautiful, but I would not want anyone to spend that much on anything for me. If those came in a nightlight, that would be awesome.

Would people want a relaxing CD or a recording of the rainforest, or are people looking for things like mix CDs or something from a favorite artist.

I'd love a relaxing or contemplative CD. I have a lot of nature ambiance CDs already, so maybe not so much that. Mix CDs are always welcome, or music recommendations. Someone mentioned windchimes in the thread, and-- as awesome as they are-- my habitat eats them. We get really high winds out here on kind of a regular basis, so any wind music thing would have to live indoors.

Would you, Snowflake, be interested in getting a bracelet or pendant necklace as a "charm" for banishment or protection or shifting energy or brining in luck? If so, what's your preference (bracelet, necklace pendant), size (wrist size, chain length), what metals to you prefer (copper, sterling silver?), and what colors /stones do you have an affinity for?

I am always interested in shiny things, especially jewelry shiny things. Anything that also has properties is a welcome bonus.
Wrist size is average? 7", I think. I prefer necklaces be either really short or really long. Midlength things tend to either bounce on-- or become wedged in-- my cleavage. Yes, I have been clocked in the teeth by my own necklace on occasion. So many sad pandas.
I like copper and brass, silver is great so is gold. I like the metallic color that is somewhere between brass and rosegold. The list of beloved stones would be *really* long, but apatite, moonstone, labradorite, fluorite, unakite, kabamba jasper, carnelian, chalcedony, sugilite, prehnite, bloodstone, clear quartz, and opals are just a few. I like blues and greens a lot, and things that look like clear water droplets, or milky and translucent stones. Stones are awesome, and seashells, and metal, and colored glass, gum wrappers... I'm a magpie.

13 Nights of Halloween 2016

Paintbox Soapworks: Red Right Hand sounds amazing. Creeping Horror looks amazing. Pink Sand, Sky Blue Sky, Tiger Bar, Mister Blue Sky, Gardensong, April Fool, and the Summerhouse seem like they could all be fabulous, and Whiskers is a favorite. I love PBSW soaps and sorbettos.

Dia de los Muertos: Don't really celebrate it, but I like the aesthetic, and appreciate the practice of remembering and honoring departed loved ones in such awesome, happy ways. So totally send those calacas and flor de muerto seeds over here, if you are so inclined.

Handknit items: Totally! Whether it's wearable of decorative, hand done anything is always much appreciated, especially fall-themed.

Are there any fandoms or specific collectible genres you would appreciate things of/for(ex: you collect shot glasses, or the ninth Doctor is your bae)?

Books, blank journals, plants/seeds, and have been wanting to expand my strange and old photo/card collection. Probably more things, but don't even know right now. Dresden Files, LotR Pokemon, Dr. Who, Harry Potter(was sorted into Gryffindor, would probably be Ravenclaw, IRL, got sorted into Hufflepuff once[probably because they asked me questions about gardening and finding things, which are now Hufflepuff characteristics?], have nothing against Slytherin, except that the logistics of having to live in a dungeon for any length of time would drive me insane-- dungeons have no windows), Legend of Zelda, Sailor Moon, bunch of other stuff.
I'm not a hardcore fangirl on anything, but I fringe and enjoy lots of fandoms from the sidelines-- like Monster/Ever After High. Though I did just discover that there is a TV show of Ash vs. the Evil Dead, and my immediate drive was that I *needed* that, stat. Thankfully, I have honed my impulse control, for fear of becoming well-merched, but homeless. But you can bet that when that paycheck gets deposited next week, the awesomeness of Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi *will* be my treat. *mwahahahaha*

Do you have a favorite Fall/Halloween symbol?

Mine is bats. Bats all the time, doesn't even need to be seasonal. Cats, leaves, hedgehogs and creepy trees are also awesome.

First, talk to me about soaps- do you like them, and what kinds of scents/lather/varieties do you like?
I like soap, so long as it doesn't have any skin irritants, like SLS. Bar soap, soap scrub or whip; it's all good. I like the same kinds of scents I tend to like in perfume, I guess.

Second, tell me about teas! Favorites? Anything you'd like to try?
Tea is awesome. A really good jasmine tea is my favorite, I go for green over black, generally, and I seem to have developed a caffeine sensitivity over the past couple of years. This means a good decaf is even more appreciated. Herbal infusions are great, too. Not such a big fan of rooibos.

Lastly, I go to Renn Faire- is there anything from there you might like?
Beautiful costuming bits? Oh, and there always seem to be vendors with really nice perfume or aromatherapy oils and incense. Also, I don't know if all Ren' Faires have this, but the people with the poundy thing where you make your own amulet, and the ladies say 'Well struck, my lord!' every time the mallet falls? That's the best.

What Weenie of year's past are you seeking from the lab?
Hmm... Magnificent Autumn, Witch-Bride, Apple IV, Witch Riding a Dragon, A Witches' Sabbath, Young Woman Appealing to a Witch, Portrait of an Unidentified Man as Mephistopheles, and Dead Leaves, Frankincense and Copal. I think? Just testers or decants, mostly. Can you tell I pretty much missed out on Weenies last year?

Are you a shawl wearer- and if you don't wear one now, would you?
Yes, I am a shawl/scarf wearer. drapy, lovely shawls for wrapping around shoulders, and fluffy, cozy scarves that you can wrap to keep your neck warm and still have hangy bits. Scarves need to have good neck, coverage, though. The super scrawny scarves that may as well be a necklace, I don't get much use out of, sadly. Other than that, fabric and knit shawls/scarves are all wonderful.

Tell me about LUSH- do you like them? If so, what are some of your favorite things from there? Particularly fond scents or products? Stuff you can't stand?
Sandstone soap is the only specific thing I can think of off the top of my head. But I have loved their massage bars, lotions, fresh masks(Brazen Honey FTW), face cleansers(like Aqua Marina), and scrub bars(Buffy!) in the past. I just haven't been to a Lush in a long time, and have no idea what they have. For the Record, Emperor of Ice cream was once my one true Lush Love. If that were a scent, I would spray it all over everything, and then also wear it.
I don't have a tub, so bath things will be lost on me(though I did use a snowman, once, to make my underwear drawer smell *amazing*. I apologize if that is TMI).
I tend to avoid the SLS soaps (even though I *love* the scent of Honey, I Washed the Kids[or, at least, used to?]), and the solid shampoos. The little lip balm things are nice, and I've been curious about some of their perfume scents.

So, in this swap, you open a goodie every day. I have seen this gift direction done several different ways, but I am interested in which you are most keen to do. Would you rather:

A. have strict direction as to which gift is to be opened on which day(aka the number system)?
B.have a few gifts that are meant to be opened on specific days (ex: *this* one is for Halloween night only), but the rest be your choice?
C. have a free-for-all, grab bag-style box of goodies, where you are the sole arbiter of your goodie grabbing destiny(everything is wrapped but you pick the gift you want to open each day)?
D. be surprised?
D! Whatever works best for you.

Who else goes for decorating with sass?
For the past few years, I have decorated with an ever decreasing half-hearted hope that there will be trick-or-treaters and awesome. Perhaps, what I need is some sass...

I live in Japan, is there anything from there you would specifically want?
Stationary(esp. Sentimental Circus), yuzu-flavored things, pictures of beautiful naturescaps-- like the Niyodo River or Ishigaki or Yakushima, .3 pilot pens in burgundy? To be honest, I'm not sure. If you think I would enjoy it, I'm sure I will.

Pumpkin Spice or No Pumpkin Spice?
I really hope I did not miss this in my questionnaire, but I have a food allergy to allspice, which is often found in pumpkin pie mix. Also, someone was kind enough to bring me home a Pumpkin Spice Latte last week-- which is usually the one no-fail pumpkin thing-- and it made me physically ill. That's fine. They seem to have been getting progressively sweeter the past few years, anyway. I'm just going to go see if the one Starbucks in the city has Frappulas again this year-- because Frappulas are delicious and involve raspberry.
That's a very long winded way of saying 'no' on pumpkin spice edibles.
Scented goods, on the other hand, are a definite possibility. So long as there is no buttery baked good-ness. B&BW Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin used to be a loved scent, once upon a time. Scents like that are A-OK.

Milk, white, and/or Dark Chocolate?
All the chocolate, so long as it isn't Hershey's chocolate, and doesn't taste like Hershey's chocolate.

Do you like Yankee Candle? Anything you want from there?
I don't dislike Yankee Candles, but I'm not into them enough to have any specific thing I want from them.

Anything you have your eye on at BPTP?
I didn't even know there'd been an update until this question.
The Serpentine, Jeune Femme Nourrissant une Licorne, Chastity with the Unicorn, and Portrait of a Young Woman with a Unicorn all sound lovely. But, again, I'm not pining over any of them, and would probably be quite pleased with a tester or decant.

Bath & Body Works
I liked them way back when the freesia actually smelled like freesias. Then they had that reformulation thing, and everything smelled all perfumey and synthetic to me. Their Halloween line is usually super cute, though, and baby bacs or tiny,anti-bac lotions to take to work would not go amiss. Also, someone told me they had a very tree-smelling Christmas candle(not that this has anything to do with Falloween).

Sockdreams
I believe there are several pair on the 'Wearables' list in my Amazon wishlist. But, honestly, I destroy socks. You would probably be better off getting yourself some lovely Sockdreams socks, and getting me some of those cute, cheapie three-use socks from the craft store. It's sad.
edit: I just added some things of Sockdreams to the Amazon thing, possibly because I cannot resist making neverending lists of shiny things-- but hopefully to help give you an idea of the kinds of socks that I should absolutely not be wearing because they would be an instant Mortal Kombat fatality at my hands--err-- feet.

I'd like to make some baked goods, would you like some? And if you have any food allergies what can I use as substitute?
Baked goods are delicious, and I would love to try your baked goods. But, please bear in mind that it is still hovering at just over and under 100* here in Bumblemoo, and will likely continue to stay in the high 90s until the end of October/mid-November, at which point there will be a sudden freeze-- because this is how it rolls out here.
But, I'm willing to risk it if you are.
As far as allergies go, I am allergic to tomatoes and tomato products-- which doesn't always extend to ketchup, but sometimes, and so I tend to avoid all the lycopene goodness of that particular food, just in case. I have no idea what you would substitute tomatoes with, but let's go with ... CUCUMBER! One can never have too much cucumber.
More problematically(and more likely, in baking), Allspice is not my friend. Pumpkin spice mix is, therefor, also not my friend, and pumpkin pie-- regardless of whether the mix has Allspice in it or not-- is also a no-go, because something about the flavor/texture combo causes my gastric system to rebel, and my throat closes up.
Please do feel free to replace pumpkin spice with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, ginger, sugar, saffron almond meal, or any combination of the above.
P.S.
You are awesome and thoughtful just for asking this, whether or not you are my Scarecrow, because food allergies suck, and baked goods are awesome.

The Witch is In/Out sign?
There is a distinct likelihood that I not only own a revolving tagged signboard of this, but a similarly themed t-shirt, and one that says "Witch and Famous". If it wasn't going to immediately get clocked for what word it was replacing, there is a possibility that I'd be on the lookout for a shirt that said "I'm not *a* witch, I'm THE Witch, and that's Ms. Witch to you."
But I digress. These signy things are awesome, as are the Halloween countdown ones.

Anything special you want from the Target dollar spot?
The Target Dollar Spot is like a magical stationary, sticker, and back-to-school teaching supply wonderland. I don't get into Target very often, but I'm sure their Halloween stuff must be ACE. I'll totally take anything you want to send me. A- far as not-necessarily-Halloween that may or may not be on clearance by now(the lady said two weeks, and that was a month ago...) all that stationery and planner stuff that had little leaves and flowers in muted mints, teals, and peaches? Yeah, that. Other than that, cool stick pins, post-its, totally random useful office supplies and home decor/organizational stuff...
Seriously, it is only slightly more safe leaving me to roam things like the Target Dollar Spot than it is to let me loose in a used book store.

I live in The Netherlands. If there's anything in particular that you'd like to get from here, now's the time to tell!
Salmiak lollies, honing drop, zwart witjes, original roosvicee, cassis(or cassis/zwarte bessen flavored anything), wine gums... I'd be happy with most snoep, actually. Most of the other stuff I can think of would be either really large, really heavy, or technically illegal to send.

What is your stance on Glitter?
I don't mind glitter at all-- even when it falls off. I just walk around pretending I shed faery sparkles for a while.

Also, if you have a Goodreads or other online reading log, does it include a wishlist? Otherwise, is it safe to assume books on the 'to-read' section are wishlist items? Or are you less into keeping a physical copy of the book, and instead prefer to turn to the awesomeness of the library to get your to-read need accomplished.

My Goodreads and Amazon both have dedicated wishlist sections. I think Goodreads is largely manga right now, though(because I am lazy and don't sync things).

how about art? (Small/mailing safe sizes, course)
Sure! I think there are some ideas on my Etsy list. But I'd love just about anything you wanted to make for me, too.

Tea lovers, what do you like from Whittard?

English Rose, White Peony, Black Currant, Jasmine, Jasmine pearls-- and, I've never had them but, Cherry Blossom, Pear Guava, Bohemian Raspberry, all the hot chocolate, and Orange Blossom sound kind of awesome.

Shiro Cosmetics?

I apologize, I did not see this question until someone mentioned it. Everything on the site looks awesome, but especially the duochrome shadows, Elemental Glows, Darth Side of the Moon, Blood of my Enemies, and Felix Felicis. I had a really long list of specific shadows I'd love a sample of... but then I was an idiot and paged out of the list I was making. Moon Prism Power, Apparatus, Lost Daughters, and Maiden Queen were among them ,though, I'm pretty sure.

Dearest Pumpkin - how much are you wedded to wishlists, say I have some read once books which I think you might like based on what you've read in the past, but there is nothing of the sort on your current Goodreads "to read" list?
I would definitely be interested in things not on my wishlist, if you think that I'd like them.
The only exceptions to this would be Anita Blake, Stieg Larsson, Song of Ice and Fire, and Twilight. I want none of these, please. Anita Blake because a lot of it began to feel like smut and horrible things for shock value, rather than plot structure. Stieg Larsson and SoIaF because multiple people who know me well say that-- as good as they are-- I will not be okay with them, and sparklepires because a librarian friend actually gifted me the entire series, because I needed to read it, just so I would know.
I am pretty much game for anything else, that isn't a festival of non-con, gore, or animal cruelty.
Also, I don't mind if the books are less 'like new', and more 'slightly manky'. The best books are not always the shiny, pristine ones.

How do you feel about reading series out of order? Obviously not in situations where the subsequent books are part of the same story arc where you will be totally lost and frustrated if you haven't read all of them, but say, standalone stories which are technically part of a series and which might obliquely reference past books, but not in such as way as to spoil the plot of the book which I happen to have in my possession that you might like.
I have no problem with this, at all. I read books out of order all the time.

Would you be interested in a Halloween themed short story anthology?
Sure!

Is there a limit to the number of books you'd like to receive?
There is no such things as "too many books", "only not enough space" and "not enough years left in life." I have long surpassed the not enough years freak out, and I will *find* space. Oh yes.

Have you read Movies in 15 Minutes by our very own Cleolinda? Would you like to?
I've read a couple of them... on Livejournal? but a lot of the movies listed in the table of contents are not my cup of tea. So I will pass. It still floors me, though, how many fabulously talented people there are on the forum. That's so awesome.

Question: What kind of phone do you have? I need to know....
I have a Amazon Fire Phone-- which I flung off of a blanket and up into the air last month, shattering the screen... It *was* a pretty awesome phone. I will probably be breaking down and start paying installments on a Galaxy Note 7 at next month's paycheck.

Switch o'Ween answers

Dear Witch, I think I somehow missed transferring some of the thread questions to here, but I did answer them. I'm sure you probably don't really need to hear more from me, anyway, as I have a problem with wordiness. But let me know, and I will track the lost questions down.   Is there anything you would like from the Blooddrop Halloween update? Sure! Apples & Bones, Dracula's Daughter Crypt, Kissa yojoki, Hare, Newt, Vixen, Chai Tea, Elderflower & Spiced Pear, maybe Library, maybe Long Black Veil, Parlor Tricks, Pomegranate & Darkened Honey, and Summer's Remains all sound very nice. Also, Balck Currant & Tea Leaves, but I have no bath.   Do you prefer to receive whole coffee beans or ground? I don't really do coffee, but if it's something flavored or for cooking, sure; either kind is fine.   Are you interested in anything from the Haus of Gloi yule update on November 3rd? Which products and which scents? Sure! Snow Wolf, Three Treasures, Rosy Cheeked, Waning Sun, and Brown Sugar & Pear lip balm? I like Christmas Tree smells.   If I made fairy, dragon or butterfly wing earrings, would you wear them? If so, which would you prefer? I would probably be tempted to wear them, which would involve stabbing them through my unpierced lobes. That would not be good, and then it would be sad. I would probably end up modding them into hair ornaments, though. So it would work out!   How do you feel about nail polish? If you like it, are there any brands or colors in which you are interested? I like nailpolish. Zoya and Sinful Colors are my go-to brands, I guess. I'd like another OPI 'Let's Do Lunch', or colors in that vein. It was subtle and made my skin look healthy, which is awesome.   What about makeup? What brands do you prefer and which products would you most enjoy receiving? I like mineral loose pigment shadows, and Korean BB creams, and lip stain... I like makeup. I try to go with more natural things, but am easily lured into buying awesome, highly pigmented stuff. Some favorite brands are Skinfood, Fyrinnae, Tarte lip thingies, Josie Maran stain markers... I've recently tried out some Meow Cosmetics shadows (the LE Rainforest ones from the summer, because this Forum is full of evil[ly awesome] enablers), and would be interested in more of those. I also love makeup brushes, Eco Tools and the black one from ELF are great. I like makeup, and would probably love to try most things I haven't yet-- cruelty-free and more natural are the best. I'm on a quest for a good concealer. I spent Birchbox points to get one from Juice Beauty, so we shall see. You can see the veins next to my eyes. I'm scary looking. Plus side, don't actually need a Halloween costume, because I already resemble the undead.   Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. I like teas, and would love things like Falling Leaves or Autumn Garden Spice.   Do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? Yes; many. I have a small library. My thread answer was a lot more wordy, but it basically boils down to laziness on my part. But if you wanted to send me games, I would play them, and enjoy it.   Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of. I really am happy with the ones I have, but who says 'no' to BPAL? As far as currently available GCs, maybe I would like Chuparosa, Strangler Fig, and Baobhan Sith? Oo, or voodoo Lily-- but I hoard imps of stuff so I really should be okay.   Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? Big in Japan is one of my favorite product scents right now. I love her scrubs. They are unbelievably fabulous.   Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? I grow plants; whatever I can. I'm coming to the conclusion that plants like okra don't want to grow here, because it is very dry. Herbs tend to be awesome out here, and flowers... it's weird. We have an orchard. I also tend to let the nightshade grow(it's only white nightshade, I would not risk belladonna around my furbabies[which is sad,I want one of those victorian horror/ Rappaccini's Garden type greenhouses of doom, which is so not going to happen, like, ever] ditto for growing foxglove or hellebores, despite how gorgeous they are. I did let some datura grow this year, and somehow got the one plant that smelled of skank, instead of the gorgeous floral growing in the desert-- don't know what happened there. But, oh well). I love plants, and plant things are always appreciated.   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? Sure! Etsy, Amazon, B&N, Botanical Interests, Baker Creek, whatever; lots of places who do gift cards are awesome.   Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? This and slightly less recently, this. I don't know, it probably isn't HOLYFCUK caliber, but I laughed.   Name five small things you could use, but might not think to get for yourself? Nailfile, (I am stealing this from whomever genius post this in thread) underpants, sturdy comb, mp3s, lotto tickets(preferably winning ones ). I don't know. What did I write in the thread?   Is there anything from a farmer's market you might like? Yes, but much of it is not mailable. Honey, spices, salts, vinegars and jam-type things are always good.   Do you have any upcoming away time I should be aware of, for shipping purposes? Nope. I don't really go anywhere, ever.   Would you like anything from Sock Dreams? Sure! Here is a wishlist, onto which I have put just about every OTK, thigh high, and tight that looked interesting, in all the color variations that I might possible want (hardcore!). On the other hand, I do have a bunch of socks, so there is no need to go out of your way to snag sockdreams, unless it was part of your mighty plan.   Is there anything in the Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic update that you're interested in? I might like testers of a few, but most have patchouli, so I'm kind of iffy on them. Czarda Macabre looks like the most likely to work of all, I guess. I love the inspiration, though.   Is there anything my mom's etsy shop that you're interested in? Oh my goodness, so cute hats! Also, love the name. I have officially put one of those bunny totes on my to buy list for my best friend. For me, I don't see anything specific that jumps out, but I'm sure that I would love something if I received it.   Is there anything you'd like from Lush, witchee? Aww, I had not even thought about the Holidays LEs. So, aside from my usual standbys of Sandstone, Aqua Mirabilis, and all the moisturizing massagy bars, I might love to try: Buche de Noel, Noriko soap(darn that SLS, though), Celebrate body lotion, Sikkim Girls body lotion, Santa Baby lip balm, Sandy Santa bar, and might even risk the SLS to try Sugar Plum Fairy scrub or Mr. Punch soap. Also, I have no bath, but Pumkin is adorable.   If you like earrings, what kind? Dangly earrings, hoops, studs - what kind do you like? How long do you like your necklaces? Or would you prefer to just get a pendent, so you can size the chain yourself? I don't have pierced ears. If you really want to get me earrings, every once in a blue moon, I will wear a pair of vintage/antique dangly screwback earrings-- the dangly kind that are kind of delicate(to offset my kind of manly jaw). Necklaces are awesome, any length, as are pendants.   If I were your witch and were to paint you something, what would you absolutely love, what would you feel ambivalent toward, and what would you not like to see or receive? I would love any art you were inclined to create for me. I especially like nature and fantasy things. You can check out my Deviantart on the Switch o'Ween people list, if you need inspiration.   Are you okay with semi-spicy foods right now? I'm thinking like curry or chipotle? If you were to choose a chili powder would you go Hot, Medium, or Mild? I'm okay with semi-spicy foods all the time. I think maybe I am missing the gist of the question. I prefer curry spice to chipotle-type spice(because you can taste the fruitiness of the pepper, but then, it's savory, and that just weirds my tastebuds out sometimes). When ordering spicy food at restaurants, I usually get medium. Historically, though, when getting food made by my Korean and Indian friends cooking regional, I kind of had to request if they could make it like they would if I were a tiny baby. Some peopel have a rather amazing spice tolerance that my tongue does not handle well.   If you were this mystery witch's witchee, would you be interested in Spoonfudge (http://www.spoonfudge.com/) or any other such "ordered online" sweet? Sure? Sweets are good. I like sweets. Can't think of anything specific right now, but, yeah.   Also - Double checking everyone's baked goods status. Home-made baked goods or other food stuffs OK? So long as it isn't going to come three months later and be all furry and alive , I am totally good with homemade food stuffs.   Are there any craft project/s you are working on now that you need supplies for? Or rather, is there a craft project you've been wanting to do but need stuff to start? Umm, I don't think so? But craft supplies are always welcome, regardless.   What do you think of hair sticks? Would you like a set? I like hairsticks. Sure, I would like a set.   Is there anything you'd really like to have/try from Trader Joe's, or any other popular-but-not-available-everywhere store? We have a Trader Joe's half an hour away, so I am probably set in that regard. If you've got a store that has awesome things not widely available, sure, I'd love to try them.   Would you rather have something fun or practical? Either one is fine. Whatever works for you.   Witchee, would you like a set of Cards Against Humanity? Sure?   Table Games - do you play them? If so, which ones, and which versions, and are there any goodies you might like related to them? I might, but I would be playing by myself... I'm always interest in things with pretty pictures or interesting information, though. Games books can be fun to read.   Witchee, are you in need of any particular spices? One can never have too many spices, right?   If you were my witchee, would you be interested in anything from my store or something similar? (Nut-made by LisaNut on etsy.) Sure! I'd love anything from anyone's store or handmade goods in general. handmade.   Say your witch works at a used bookstore. what kinds of things might you like from there? cool old pulp fiction paperbacks? tarot cards? (we have those.) a dr who pen? books about haunted cemeteries in seattle? you may have all of these things:) oh, and also movies. and cds. Everything? Tarot cards would be awesome, and spooky books(okay, any books->book >ME< hoarder<-),CDS, Movies, if you want to send it, I will love it.   Witchee, the Haunt Halloween update goes live tomorrow! When it does, please post right away and let me know your dreams and wishes! I will do this. It's five hours away now...   I've got some canned goods put up -- mostly jams/jellies, some apple butter, some applesauce. Want some? If so, what kind(s)? Yes. If you have sweet and/or sour, fruity things, I will eat them.   How feel you about lip balms, glosses, and lipsticks? Any particular favourite scents/flavours? Any favourite makers/sellers? I feel that they ensure one less area of my body feels like it has been basking in a dehydrator-- which is a very good thing. I do tend to have a bunch on hand at all times, though. But I'm not going to say 'no' to more. Petro-product free is a general preference; EOS and Body Shop are two favorites, and I would love to try all kinds of ones that are by small companies on Etsy(if they have a tint, mega bonus).   Since wishlist links never seem to work in forum mail, won't you please re-post your wishlist links here, so they're readable? (these are a little bit disorganized, but are still an accurate indicator of my tastes) Etsy   Amazon   BPTP   BPAL   Pinterest (I am not very good at this, and it's a little vague and chaotic)   10/18/13: Are you a fan of anything that you would like a tshirt of? If so, what size would you wear? Sure! I would most likely wear a ladies' large, but I would have no issue modifying any size that you wanted to send.   Do you love, hate, or are indifferent to.....pumpkin flavored things? I think I like it, but I think it does not like me. Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, and actual pumpkin pieces, like, as a tempura item seem to be totally safe. That Pumpkin Spice Brulee Oolong from Teavana that TwilightEyes mentioned sounds pretty fabulous, also.   Dear future Witchee, did you get anything from the Beaver Moon or Weenie updates that I need to know about, so I don't accidentally repeat anything? I did not get anything from either-- though I would still really like to pick up a couple of Weenies. I will let you know if I do. Also, please don't feel you need to get BPAL. BPAL is awesome, it's true, but it is also expensive. And, if you are going to buy BPAL, it would probably make me much happier if you bought some for yourself and loved it.   Name some DVDs you wouldnt mind receiving, or are they on an Amazon list? There are a bunch on my Amazon wishlist. Speaking seasonally, Waxwork, the Raven(John Cusack;haven't ever seen it yet), and Rockula would probably top the list.   Do you want anything from Starbucks or Teavana? Tea, tea makers, rock sugar, tea tins, coffee, via, via refreshers, mugs, tazo tea...? A lifetime supply of pumpkin Spice Lattes-- but then I would be impossible to live with. There is no solution. Even decaffeinated, there is a lot of sugar in them, and you *don't* want to see my impression of a human pingpong ball. I speak Valley Girl and I speak it quickly, LOL. I love tea, and I remember there being some nice ones from Teavana, but I have no idea what. If you want to send some teas, your judgement if far better than mine.   Halloween Candy, Decorations, and Costume supplies - What kind are your idea of FUN and which ones would you thoroughly dislike? I like creepy, creepy-cute, elegant, spooooooky, glittery/sparkly, dark, orange and black, glow in the dark, bats and cats, and spiders and owls and naked trees... Oh! General leafy fall stuff is fabulous, too(Sorry, Halloween is very close and my mind is starting to go one-track spooky goodness). I *don't* really like gore, stuff that is marketed as 'Halloween' but is really just some kind of commercialism and/or marketing, and mean things.   WHAT traditions to you partake in for Halloween? Knowing what you do our how you decorate or how you celebrate? Decorate, dress up, hand out candy, watch a scary movie, light a candle at sunset and blow it out after midnight. Also, a tradition that I do is freak out and get super paranoid of my cats for the whole fall(moreso than usual, and I am already a pretty big nutball where my furfamily is concerned). This is not a tradition I appreciate having to observe. But, yeah... Woo, candy and cute kids trick-or-treating!   Hey, Witchee, it's getting cold. Socks, scarves, hats or arm warmers? If you want to send any, I will love them.

SW Q&A September 20th

If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? I don't even know where to find Arcana. If you want to give me something from there, I trust your judgement.   How many bottles of BPAL do you have? 58. I said 57 on the thread, but I forgot about the nearly empty bottle of Blood Phoenix.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I love belly dance music, high energy stuff, and mellow, relaxing instrumentals.   Anyone else into Emily Autumn? Yes!   What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. A giant poster of this hangs above my bed framed. I had it at college, and it brings me zen. My only issues is that it should be 'were' not 'was', but-- seeing as how I have difficulties typing letters in the correct order, I probably should not get all OCD about grammar. There is a tiny cat gargoyle head above my door, and a wall chunk of fanart in slipcovers(including chibis, favorite characters, some cute couples, cute anime/manga guys, and a mermaid). Two oval La Mode Illustree framed pages from 18-something hang opposite an add for Doc Constantine's Pharmacopaeia that a friend got out of a magazine for me(and I then laminated). All of that is in a corner behind my folk harp. In other things that aren't on my wall, but are decorative(and not plants): three geisha dolls in two display cases sit high up; one atop a bookshelf, the other on my wardrobe. I don't think I covet anything particular? I have a poster print of Hylas and the Nymphs, and one of a mermaid that I would like to display, but I have yet to frame them.   do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind? yes, I like thin mints.   What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? I'd love some.

SW Fall 2011 Q&A

I would like to apologize, in advance, if I end up duplicating questions, or start babbling confusingly. Feel free to skip that.   From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? Sonnet d'Automne Vampire Bride October(though it will likely not smell like I am thinking) the three evening in Hades scents Changeling!(because of the name, and not because of the notes, because vanilla is often not my friend) Garden of Death La Mort Muse of the Night and ALL THE APPLES!!! but especially the golden one (and a quick BTW "the song of Wandering Aengus" is a lovely poem, and just makes me want to buy all the apples more. Actually all of the Pickman Gallery that don't have patchouli listed sound pretty amazing(who am I kidding, what on this update doesn't sound good, despite the patchouli?)   Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I like polish. I'm not too happy with polish remover. I also am very lucky if my fingernail polish lasts three days without some form of fubar(which is usually incurred within two hours of application). I occasionally like to paint my toes, too. That usually goes better-- either that, or my eyeballs are far enough away that I don't notice the fubar. I like color, especially when it has miniscule sparkly bits that look like faery dust and are super shiny. I just saw a magazine add in a waiting room for crackle polish, and that could be potentially awesome. I tested a nail of BPTP's Bordello and it is also lovely-- and smells vaguely of roses. Of course, I could just be *special*. Favorite polish of the past: I think it was from Naturistics, and was basically clear with infinitesimal silver sparklies. ETA: I just realized that I love Sinful Colors nail enamel. It is freaking fabulous. Someone bought me two of them a while ago(green and deep blue) and I put the green on this week on Wednesday, and it is still perfect-- no chips no smearing. Woo!   Any social media you are on? _Sea_Nymph_ on Twitter, but I barely ever tweet. Ann Applegate on FB, but, umm, I joined to keep in touch with college friends-- and wound up obsessed with Farmville. I also don't really post anything very relevant on there. If you still want to watch me on there, I'm Ann Applegate, with the closeup of the sunflower and blue sky for my avatar. I think I have the tag name as 'Usagi',too.   Do you like candles? Yes. 4"-7" chubby pillar candles are probably my favorite.   Your ideal candle: I don't know... one that smells like the most fabulous Christmas tree on earth, is non-polluting and burns forever! Yes, my ideal candle-- like so many of my 'ideal' things-- would be magic.   Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? I'm kind of obsessed with Edna St. Vincent Millay's "Witch-Wife" right now. Someone set it to music, and I bought the CD. I like a lot of music lyrics. Tori Amos's "Baker, Baker", "Here, in My Head", "Dragon", and so many others/ "Joyful Girl" and "Napoleon" by Ani Difranco, Most of the lyrics on Mask and Mirror by Loreena McKennitt. For poets: I love W.B. Yeats, Nuala ni Dhomhnaill, and have a soft spot for Shel Silverstein.   Random quote: "we grow neither better nor worse as we get old, only more like ourselves." ~May Lamberton Becker   Although, depending on what kind of day you've had, that might be a disappointing thought.   Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? I do! I like all kinds of colors. Scarves, hats, fingerless gloves, little plushies. Mmm, cozy things.   Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? Yes! Apple chips, spice mixes-- someone mentioned soup mixes, and that sounds awesome. Pickles would be *amazing*, if they were cornichons or the Dutch/German kind, and not dill or bread and butter. I'm not sure what the specific differences are, I just know I like the former and not the latter. I like food, really. I'm up for trying just about anything once.   What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? I already experienced this, and I lived. Then moved on. But I will probably kick myself later if I don't order Dragon's Musk--and possibly Sea of Glass- and my imps run out.   Yo Yarnies, do you Ravelry, and if so who are you over there? I do yarn(crochet, specifically), and I am Orihime on Ravelry. The account is kind of sad and neglected ,though. There is a lot on my favorites list right now, but that is largely because I am currently doing the Scarf Swap, and there are so many pretty patterns.   Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? I have wishlists on Amazon and Etsy, and I put them in my questionnaire. If it isn't on those two incredibly long lists, it probably doesn't exist. If there is a specific etailer you have in mind, let me know, and I'd be happy to go check them out and report back with what looks great.     Witch, do you use a PC or a Mac? PC. I've got an HP laptop.   Favorite animal? I'm not sure I can pick. I was recently disillusioned by the biological nature of dolphins. I love bats, cats, hedgehogs, herons, otters, flower spiders, dragonflies, and most other animals. Please, skip the following if you have arachnophobia     Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? I like incense. Sticks are what I have used most in recent times. Cones are cool, too. i've never tried resin, or a charcoal burner thing. I think Shoyeido is my favorite, but I haven't really tried a huge variety. My favorite scent from them, is probably Kyoto Cherry Blossom. I hope this doesn't sound weird, but if you do wish to get me incense, please don't get Great Origin, or anything that smells similar. I used it when one of my cats was dying, and I really, *really* don't want ot smell that anymore.   Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? Yes. I've even been to the White Elephant cafe where some of the writing was done(they have good bagels...). Plus, somewhere I've got video of the author accepting an honorary degree at my friend's graduation. That was wholly unanticipated and awesome. I think I have been sorted into one house or the other at least once, but Gryffindor seems to come up most often. All the houses have their merits and flaws, I guess. I'd probably have accepted any one of them for the chance to go somewhere magical to study-- although I wouldn't be too keen on my dorm being in a dungeon.   If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? lush UK(because, if you are ordering more than one thing, the shipping is less expensive. I know, it's kind of sad), Amazon, Any bookstore you can order from online, Fyrinnae, Sassy Minerals(not actually sure whether either of these actually have giftcards), Joann's, Michaels, Kohls?, Lowe's, Home Depot...okay, you know, if it's a place either near me, or where things can be ordered via the internet, and it carries things I'm interested in, I'm sure I'd love a gift card from there. How's that?   Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? I love myths and fairy tales. Some of my favorite fairy tales are "the Little Mermaid", "Snow White and Rose Red", "Frau Holle", and "the Goose Girl". I'm always interested in learning new myths and tales.   What is your favorite animal? I can't pick just one!   What are you going to be for Halloween? I'm going to be...handing out candy to small, cute children, and probably a few teenagers.   If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) Anything with a botanical theme would be lovely. Mythological creatures would be great, the ocean, stars. Anything will be loved, if you have made it. I'd probably prefer a pendant over a ring, and my ears are not pierced. Wall art would be lovely as well.   Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? I do not have any of those.   Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I probably don't need them, but I love boxes, and more would be awesome.   Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? I used to like Pearls before Swine when I had the paper, I think. Do web comics count? I like GND.   Favorite Mythological Creature? Mermaid, Dragon, Domovoi(the one from the Quest for Glory games, who is cute and tiny and wrinkly, and not the full size humanoid who strangles people when they are angry. Oh and there is one in Rusalka by CJ Cherryh, who I think was awesome, too. But I don't remember for sure. And on that note, I like Rusalka, Sirens, and all kinds of dryads. Faeries? Kelpies and Pooka. Magical creatures in general are wonderful.   Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers I do.   Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now?? Umm, sure? I'm not quite sure whether this is a reference to fascinators, or actual silk flowers on clips, but it's all good.   Do you garden? Yes, I do. Today, I realized that I had left a pattypan squash on the vine too long, and it is the size of a salad plate. I grow a little of everything: flowers, veggies, herbs, fruit. Weeeee!   Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? I like stars. I feel affinity for bats, herons, otters, and probably cats. Dolphins used to be in there, too, but let's just say that teaching children who have access to the internet can lead to rather disillusioning fact checking results. And how could I have forgotten, the Auryn! And, this is probably the most beautiful one I have seen. It's the only thing I can think of I would get a tattoo of-- if the spaces I'd want it in weren't already taken up by body parts or Scars of Importance.   Do you decorate for Halloween Yes, I do. The only unifying theme is "creative". basically if it's candles, fall colors, leaves, and anything from cute to creepy, it can be displayed somewhere for Halloween. But really emphasis on burning things and leaves. Mm, leaves.   If you could go anywhere, meet anyone, see anything, where would you go? IRL, the Library at Alexandria, and I would like to request unlimited language ability, and an invisible digital camera with 400 terrabytes storage and neverending battery life to come along with me.The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, in their full glory (may I take seed samples?). Knossos, intact. Delphi, Machu Picchu. Many, many places. PIRL, Atlantis. If it was real, it must have been something to see. In imaginary world, I would love to visit Xanth. People is tougher-- and I will need the magical language ability again. Perhaps, Kassandra of Troy, Hatshepsut, Nest, Lucrezia Borgia, Veronica Franco. I should probably give the guys some love also, huh? So, JRR Tolkien, Leonardo da Vinci-- if I can have a magical impenetrable forcefield, I would just like to see Vlad Tepes. He was such a powerful figure in the history of his country and region, yet it is difficult to reconcile various accounts of him as a person. But I would rather not be impaled, or otherwise maimed and killed.   When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? Eat copious amounts of candy, drink a cup of tea, listen to music, spend time with my cats, or in my garden-- basically just zone out and reject the existence of whatever it was that made it a bad day(even if only briefly).   What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I like comics. I don't really read them anymore, but that's more of a time/space/money issue than anything else. As a very small child, my parents gave me stacks of Spiderman, Superman, and Batman-- who are all awesome. I was really into X-Men as a kid. I still love Elfquest. I read some Manga/manwha online now and then, but haven't had time to keep up on anything lately.   Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? I can sing. I can play a little squinkly bit of piano, and I own a folk harp--but have not practiced enough to claim any proficiency on it. Right now, the harp is like a giant, gorgeous room decoration. I also read music like a first grader reads text-- which is to say, not very well, but I can manage if necessary.   Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc?: Sure. We used to do Rainforest Rescue regularly. The bat thing that Fright linked looks wonderful.   If you RP, tabletop, forum, or otherwise... Do you have any original characters you'd like to see art of? If so, please give information! Even if it's a link to a web page or a profile or picture! I don't(roleplay, that is), but any original fantasy art you would like to make I would love to see.   What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? I don't really obsess over anyone. I'm not very much of a fangirl, sadly.   are you interested in anything from the Villainess Bad Apples update? The descriptions of Discord and Twistappel sound amazing.     If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? I'm sure they would love treats. And, if you wanted to send them something, that would be very sweet of you. The dog has a fragile stomach, so she can't have anything too exciting. The cats are on a mostly meat diet, since we had one little boy get crystals in his urethra-- which was completely horrible. I apologize if that should have been spoilered. anything low on grains would be excellent, and they love catnip and catmint.   What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? I can't really think of any. I'm pretty happy with what I have. There are some rather rare things on my wishlist, but just because it would be nice to try them. There is no real driving need.   Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? I can't think of one, but I love pretty images. I have a Deviantart account: starlightsiren, and I've marked a ton of stuff as favorites.   If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? I love colorful eyeshadows. I've wanted to get more Fyrinnae, but just haven't. (ETA: I added a bunch of Fyrinnae to my Amazon universal list. They've taken down a lot of colors since the last time I was there.) Skintone is fair. I don't realy wear foundation often, so I am not sure on brand colors. I used to use ivory from Covergirl, I think. I may be slightly more tan now. But I still am very much a light, pasty, easily pink from heat person. My hair is fine, long, golden brown(?) with red hues. But I'll likely be cutting and hennaing it in October, and then may go dark brown in December or January. I'm trying to make some changes, I guess. any kind of chemical-free hair treatments would be nice to try. ETA: I cut my hair to above the shoulders, but decided against dying it right now. The hair bow colors you chose go exceptionally well with my haircolor, so that wokred out *really* well.   Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? I like tea! I drink mostly green and white. Black teas can be a little strong for me, but I enjoy the occasional cup of Earl Grey. I would love to try different kinds of teas.   Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) I've got some CDs on my amazon list. I traditionally prefer physical CDs, but mp3s are so much easier access, aren't they? Off the top of my head, the CD I am most interested in getting is DEV, which drops on September 20th, I think. It's been pushed back to November.   Are you going away for any part of this round? Not that I know of.   Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? I'd love it!   If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? Maybe? If my witch thinks of me, that would be very sweet of them. But it's completely unnecessary. Just have fun on your trip/holiday, and be safe.   Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? Yes, but aside from tending the yard, I don't get out very much right now. It is roasty-tastic here in the high desert at the moment, with temps in the 100-109 range, and being outside is not my friend. I love to swim and go to the beach, but don't really get a chance to often. I like to dance to music?   Any witchee's with a ravelry account have any favourited patterns that cost money that would be a welcome gift? My account has a bunch of patterns favorited at the moment for the scarf swap. They are all very pretty ,but I'm not sure which would be useful enough for you to spend money on. Free is the way to go, if you would like to send me patterns. I would very much appreciate the time you took to look through them and send them, no need to spend your money.   Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? I enjoy interesting office supplies. I don't work at a desk, nor have I taken the time to study recently. But I still love folders and clips, and all that office supply goodness, and I will find a use for it, if you want to gift me! Also, pens that write in superfine, and are interesting colors are always very appreciated.   Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? Yes, sort of. I don't go out of my way to to see a musical just because it is one, but there are many musicals, mostly in movie format, that I love. Do Disney movies count as musicals? I like those, too. Some favorite musicals are: My Fair Lady, Kismet, Kiss Me, Kate, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (not a Howard Keel fan at all, noooo), Rocky Horror(both live and picture show), Evita, Mammia Mia, White Christmas... "The Internet is for Porn" from Avenue Q is hilarious--mostly because I associate it with a friend. And, for old movie musicals, if Danny Kaye was in it, I probably like it. I have to admit that I haven't seen Phantom of the Opera as a musical, or Wicked(in which I have no real interest), or a lot of the other musicals(especially Andrew Lloyd Webber) that seem to have a huge following. But that's okay. Sometime, I will get Repo, and Phantom, and watch them, even if it's only to see what everyone is talking about. I know a few songs from the musicals I haven't seen, because my best friend grew up on Webber musical soundtracks, and they are one of her choices for karaoke fodder-- which is very fun. As an aside, my choice of Karaoke musical selections are "Sweet Transvestite" and "Whatever Lola Wants", because they are fun.   I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! For instance, I'm a little squicked by used clothing, but I don't mind any other used goods (i.e. books, glassware, games, DVDs, whatever.) I love thrift store finds. I can't think of any objection I would have, unless you sent something that was all manky and gross, which I know you wouldn't do. Oh, and I would rather not have used pet toys. I'm a little neurotic about my pets' health and safety.   Do you have an Etsy shop? Do you know of any Etsy shops that are Switch Witch friendly? I tried, halfheartedly, to start an Etsy shop earlier this year, but just didn't keep up with the crafting, and the poor thing kind of withered and died. Paintbox Soapworks was *very* SW friendly, last time I checked. Actually, I think most Etsy sellers who are also forum members have historically been SW friendly. But that's all I know.   Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? I love Disneyland, and if you want to send me a postcard, that would be lovely.   what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? The dots that come in the little boxes, the black crow blood orange Dots(thanks to my fantastic Witch last year) and the ghostie Dots. So, Dots. Yeah. Oh, and one fabulous swapper recently sent me Haribo Halloween gummies! They were absolutely freaking fabulous and had *black currant* flavor. O,O   Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. Soap is what I use more often, but that's just because I don't buy shower gel. I like Lush Sandstone, Body Shop Sweet Lemon, Arcana Murder Ballad Blues(okay, I had one bar, but it smelled so good). Those are off the top of my head. The stuff from Zumba was really nice, too. I tried Wilde ivy, and something in it(and their lotion) was drying my skin. They smelled nice, though.   How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I like chocolate. Not so big on the nuts, but fruit and flavored ganaches are ace. Plain choco is great, too. Please, no Hershey's for me. You don't want to know why. But I have people here who do like it. So if you send it, there would still be appreciative mouths ready to receive. Someone on-thread mentioned drinking chocolate, so I thought I would add: Dagoba Xocolatl is incredibly delicious.   Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I like beads, especially glass ones. I don't actually use them right now, but if you want to gift me beads, I will marvel at their prettiness until a use for them presents itself.   Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! I do! The amazing Argentwolf gifted me some delicious ones from an Etsy shop(Fusion sweets?) last year, and oh wow, they were delicious-- especially the matcha and earl grey ones.   Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? I would love this. I would love anything you make for me with your talents, but I absolutely adore scarves so that would be exponentially fabulous(<--you will probably be subjected to this word a lot in the next month or two, I apologize in advance. That and 'awesome'). Shirts, belts, cuffs, hair things-- anything with your artistic skills on it would be lovely.   This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? Love for the stones!   And another question; anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek? No, I've not been on there very often.   Pinterest, do you have boards you want to share or are you following anyone with great boards you want to share? I had not heard of this until it was mentioned. But now that I have seen it, I may be tempted to make some pin boards. I did that at college and it was very fun and a mood booster. I'll present a link, if I do.   Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? I haven't an e-reader, but if you see something that you think I would like(especially if it is free), and it comes in .PDF, I've got Adobe.   If you have kids, would you be interested in getting things for them? And if so, what are they interested and what sizes are the wearing now? I don't. I've got a god-daughter in India, but her mother recently told me not to buy her any more stuff(again. But she can't stop the Diwali box from coming in the mail *mwa haha*). However, I am on the lookout for a cute but durable pair of overalls for a slender two-year-old tomboy, so if you've heard of a place to get some, that info would be greatly appreciated.   How would you feel about kitchen towels and other similar household objects, if they are pretty or a souvenir? If they are at least slightly useful, that would be nice.   How did you dress up for your last party or compulsory-formal-dress occasion? Last party was an extended family BBQ for Labor Day. I wore a blue-green jersey, empire waist maxi dress, with stylized floral patterns running down it, and a couple pieces of jewelry(necklace, bracelet). For fancier, last time I went out to a higher end restaurant with friends, I wore a 3/4 sleeve black empire waist(<-this is a great cut for the largely knockered) dress--just about the knee-- opaque, raspberry colored tights, and black pumps. The last formal event was probably a concert, and I can't remember, honestly. The last you-must-wear-a-floor-length-gown event I can call off the top of my head was Prom-- and that doesn't count, since it was a last minute, but-your-friends-want-you-to-go thing, and the dress was literally bought a day before. It started falling apart(cheap prom dresses are not meant to hold in giant mammaries), and prom was a fest of boredom and uncooked food--for which we paid $60 a piece. I sat at the table reading Piers Anthony's Orn, until they would let us leave(yes, they sequestered us in the building. Had the Fire Marshal come, I think someone would have been in trouble). Anyway, bitterness aside, I've got an absolutely gorgeous black tulle formal gown in my closet, and when I lose enough weight to wear it/have a truly formal event to go to, I will look fabulous. There's also a pink slip dress with a gauze fantail in there-- but that would require finding a decent bustier. *sigh* I like formal gowns(a LOT) but tend to only get to wear them at Halloween/as costumes. I'm also the kind of girl who might climb trees in them.   Would you be interested in a felted handbag? Do any of these styles appeal to you? http://tinyurl.com/3o2epzl (there's at least one guy-friendly style, too!) Yes. I like the tote, and the messenger bags, though they are all cute. I mostly sing thing over my shoulder, so anything with shoulderable straps would be fantastic.   Are there are patterns, motifs, etc that you especially like? Vines, swirls, leaves, stars. Art Nouveau, some art Deco(with plants). Things with plants.   Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? Yes, I would.   If you're a tea drinker, is there any specific tea you would like to receive, not just the kind/flavor but also the type/packing--i.e., tea bags, loose tea, compressed, etc? I probably use bagged tea most often, just because of ease. But I enjoy loose tea, on occasion. I put compressed into the same category as loose. I've had some bird's nests in my loose tea, and they steep quite well.   Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? I like shiny things; I love plants, animals, and family. or Magic is everywhere.   How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? I don't drink.   What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) Fudge and brownies are delicious. Our temperatures combined with a metal mailbox are not their friend right now.   Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? I love mochi, it is chewy and sproingy and delicious. The cakes filled with black sesame are my favorite, but red bean paste is also delicious, as well as coconut, peanut butter, mung bean, strawberry, melon marshmallow(yes, it exists. Nijiya Market FTW). Homemade mochi squares with no filling are fabulous as well.   Anything from the update ya'll are liking? Fruit Bat Fruitbath Streuobstweise soap fig and sandalwood hair gloss Orchards of Hell roomspray   Does anyone like kimchi? I like kimchi, and make my own.   Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? Sure. I'm currently getting a Birchbox. This may change, since Dymphna made an excellent point. Some of that stuff might not be cruelty free. Which is not okay. My brain thought, for some reason, that if someone is charging $60 and up for 2oz of something, they must have used ethical means to produce it. I can be very naive sometimes.   You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? One of each of everything. Because I could always give the ones I didn't want to someone who did. And both small and medium of the botanical yoga pants, because I am not sure which one would fit my booty best.   Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? I've never gotten anything from there, but have wanted to try for a couple years now. From the general catalogue, Big in Japan sounds amazing, and Cicada(or is that limited?) and from the limiteds; Guy Fawkes and the sexy man with cardamom one, oh, and possibly English gentleman. I'll just put a bunch of the scents on my Etsy favorites.   Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes no.   How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? I love notebooks/journals, stationary, and pens all.   Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? Shiny things, woo! Just so long as they are non-toxic. For, while I enjoy the sparkliness immensely, I don't want it at the cost of my pets' health.   Fabulous witches and witchees, perhaps you all could note of you've received MeiLin's goodies? Or if you want? I saw a preview of the contraption one once, and would love to read anything she's written. She's got a really engaging voice. I think that Cuervosueno also may have offered her poetry somewhere in the thread, and that would be equally awesome. Anything made/written by amazing, creative forumites would be fantastic.   How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? I like plushies. As to what I would most be interested in... you know those gumdrop monsters in Legend of Zelda: the Adventures of Link(okay, maybe not). There are these pillow sized monsters that look like green or red gumdrops with eyes. IKEA made blue and green pillows that looked just like them a looooong time ago(okay eight years), and mine are now falling apart. They are the ideal plushie/hugging pillow combo. Other than that, I love plushies. If you make me a plushie, or give me a plushie, I will love it.   how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Like these that I did? Aww, I just did this for all mine at the beginning of the year! But, I suppose they could be stickered over, if you were inclined to make me ones. My bottle list is out of date, though. so let me know if you need it updated.   Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) I do. I used to enjoy doing sudoku, I think I may have a couple of unfinished books of them somewhere... Riddles are great, as are puzzle-puzzles, and word problems. I'm not as into crosswords, for some reason.   Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? I would love this. I just accidentally killed my favorite tea cup. It will be reincarnated into a stepstone at a later date, but I really miss drinking from it.   When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? Sleep. Nothing says FU to illness better than being unconscious.   What constitutes ultimate luxury to you? (go crazy!) Water. Before I sound like some person off of Dune, let me explain. I live in the desert(no, Frank Herbert does not write of us, there is no Spice-- okay, there is some ginger, but it doesn't tend to overwinter well). Taking long showers and baths, and all that jazz, is not something you do without feeling some amount of guilt. You can probably guess that I don't have a pool. But I love water, and swimming, and the way it keeps my plants alive. I guess unlimited water, that wasn't taking away from anything else, would be the ultimate luxury. Other, smaller, luxuries(because I don't really think with any kind of scope on these things): My favorites foods and treats(many of which come from faraway places, and either would have to be special ordered, made at home, or flown to a foreign country to attain) An unlimited treasury of books Sleeping in(preferrably accompanied by bamboo or Egyptian/organic cotton, super high thread count, sheets) Plaisir du Chocolate pear dark chocolate ganache cake(I actually got teary the first time I ate this. My dorm mates thought I'd gone off my nut. It's. That. Good.). It's a shame that this place doesn't exist anymore.   What do you really NOT want? Dead things. Please don't send me dead things--especially anything fur. Products known to be not cruelty free. A lifetime subscription to the Tomato of the Month club. Hershey's. Other than that, you are surely golden.   Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? There are some DVDs on my Amazon wishlist that I would like to have, but nothing terribly pressing, I think?   Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? Sure, and I can nacho witch from California.   Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? No, and I don't want to think about why ticketmaster hates me. This actually just changed last night, since I somehow managed to introduce my best friend to Kyo, of Dir en Grey-- and now she is fascinated. I'm not going to see them, because...? But Miyavi is playing in October, and I told her I would go. So, yes. October 21st, at the House of Blues, I will be there, likely surrounded by screaming fan girls-- feeling awkward but enjoying the music.   Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? Yes? the TV series, mostly: TNG, original, Deep Space Nine. But not a hardcore fan or anything.   Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? Far more inclined to cook at home. If you wish to send cookbooks or recipes, they would be gratefully received. The only thing specific, off the top of my head, would be a recipe for chicken tajine that I could make at home, without needing to buy those cool, tenty clay things it's made in.   How do you feel about maple syrup? Maple syrup is delicious.   How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) Those are cute, and the concept is nice, but I have no idea what I would like a shrine of. Faerie shrine! Yeah, that's all I could come up with...   Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? Yes. The original trilogy(IV,V,VI). I saw the first 'prequel', and thought 'damn, this is gorgeous...but WTF happened to the mythology?!' Midichlorians? Really??? I was upset. Favorite characters: R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewy, and the Ewoks(all of them, especially the babies). The Ewok movies made me happy as a child-- all about the Ewoks, way less drama.   Do you like beef jerky, I know some may be vegetarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene) I like jerky--beef or turkey. I'm not sure I've ever had vegetarian jerky. But, I'd try it. I would rather not have charqui or pork jerky. Texture/thickness: I love the thin, crunchy kind. Hard and chewy is good, too.   Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. I'm not sure I've ever gotten a racy ecard. I used to laugh at the really wrong ones they sell at Spencers. I don't open my mail at work, so, if you feel inclined to send racy cards, you should be safe. But this is not something you need to go out of your way to send for my sake.   Doctor Who? Yay or nay? OooooWeeeOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dr. Who is awesome. he super campy originals are what my family watched when I was really little, and I really enjoyed the first two seasons of the new Who-- and then TV went away, so I haven't really watched past that. Oo, do you think I could add a Tardis to my 'ultimate luxuries' answer? That's not very realistic, is it.   I have a couple spare Doctor Who stickers. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? That is a lovely offer. But I'm sure there are a lot more hardcore fans who would appreciate and use the stickers.   Anyone love Buffy/Angel? I don't dislike it. I just stopped watching sometime, long ago. There was suddenly a bit too much drama for me, maybe?   How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? Gummies are Love. Haribo gummies are the most Love.   How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? This looks awesome. I love stickers, as well.   Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? Creepy threshold is high. I'd prefer no gore, but that's most because it doesn't interest me. If you want to send methese shoes, though, they would not be turned away. Because they look awesome. Basically I prefer Horror films over slasher films, as my Halloween aesthetic. Heavy on the supernatural and unknown, based in the dark past, fairy tales, legends and myth. Disney and Dark tales both have their merits, and I like both. Halloween is definitely about that darker aesthetic, though.   Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? I am completely unpierced. Earrings, especially tend not to look very good on me(manly jaw, don't you know). I've found exactly one earring that didn't make me look like a man-- in my grandmother's jewelry box. And there was only one. I am not meant to wear earrings, I think.   How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? I'm not sure.   interested in anything from Lush? Always interested in Sandstone soap. They DC'd Emperor of Ice Cream, but if they come up with anything that has the EoIC scent, I would want that.   Do you blog? Would you like a header for your blog, a layout, etc? I don't. Yet. But this sounds awesome. I might have to start a blog, just to use it. I just started a blog or two, but I don't have the links offhand. I'll try to remember to link them once I actually post something in them at he end of the weekend.   Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? Yes.   do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? would you want to get some from your witch / nacho witch? I don't know. I'm not a big fan of powderd sugar, though. All of the other ingredients sound yummy.   How would you feel about receiving a Groupon deal for something in your local area? If there is anything you WOULDN'T like, mention that also. I live in the middle of nowhere, and hardly ever drive down to L.A.. I don't think I would use this. I'm sorry.   do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? I like the aesthetic. We don't really do Dia de Los at my house. But if you sent me any kind of calaveras, I would definitely put them out in honor of the Day.   Who here adores meringue? I think I fall somewhere in the middle-- not in love, but don't dislike it, either. I like the mouth meltiness.   Witchee, would you like a framed photograph and of what? I like photos of plants, or of waves, or animals, or anything pretty, really. Not so big on modern architecture.   Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I wear fitted t-shirts mostly. Because otherwise, i look like a big, fluffy marshmallow, with a tiny pin head. Size M, sometimes L(lifetime member of Team Boobies, in a kind of big way). I would love a shirt you designed, just please be aware of the propensity for my mammaries to stretch designs that are made of not shirt. Poor designs.   How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc.... I like pumpkin scented things. B&BW Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin used to be one of my favorite lotions, once upon a time.   Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin? Hadn't heard of it until that post, and now have several of them on my favorites. "she had bewitched the tides" is my favorite. Those words are just such a great mental image.   If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. International things would be awesome, candies especially.   SOCK PREFERENCES? over the knee, knee, thigh high, ankle; bamboo or cotton?   Would you like/wear a pair of these? http://www.ravelry.c...rary/yoga-socks If so, what color? Yes. Whatever color you like. Those are awesome.   Is there anyone here who likes toe socks? You know, those socks with a place for each toe? I do like these, but I received, like, a lifetime supply of them last Christmas( twenty or so pair?), so I am probably good.   What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself? The winning lotto ticket. I just keep meaning to get it, and failing...   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? 3 free preferred. Have never had frankenpolish, would be happy to try some. Any and all colors, lots of glitter, pearlescent, whatever. My nailpolish use is all about fun, which is good, as I probably couldn't pull off polished anyway. ;p   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I feel that lip balm is fabulous. I prefer the natural kind, without the petroleum products. My favorite brands that I have tried are Burt's Bees and Eos. Peppermint Burt's Bees is my favorite, and I haven't tried all of the Eos, so I'm not sure which one is my favorite of those. The only flavors you'd want to avoid I really hope they don't make lip balm of(tomato, etc). That would be odd. No savory lip balms(if they exist), thank you. I can use more lip balm. Right now, I have two, and one is almost through-- oh, and one colored one from Wet'n'Wild?   Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? I would love art supplies! I'm not really an artist, but I do love to draw things-- and I love to write. I *am* lefthanded, though, and have been told that it's difficult to get fountain pens to work right? I have a lefthanded calligraphy pen and that seems to work okay most of the time... Skintone copics, paper, ink, anything. I like creative notions-- even if I may not be the most skilled person. I like writing/drawing in the finest line possible(I found .38 pens once, and bought, like, twelve), brush strokes, and calligraphy tips. I love pens and pencils, and would be perfectly happy with scores from the 99c store, though. No need to buy the high quality stuff for me, as I'm just in it for fun.   For those interested in watercolors, how would you feel about getting a palette filled with paint from my watercolor tubes but not getting the paint tube itself? (kind of like this but without the covers for the compartments and bigger http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream) That would be super cool! I have issues with always squeezing too much out of my tubes anyway.   -How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? (copic markers, watercolor, brushes, paint, sketchbooks etc.) Art supplies are Love. I think there are a few in my wishlists somewhere.   How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? I've never really looked there before. They seem to have some cute stuff. I like the Chinese fingertrap, Squinjas, Might Makes Write, Peaceful future, Rock is Dead(and paper killed it), don't worry everything is going to be amazing, Video games ruined my life, and the monsters dress/shirt. So, yes, I probably like them.   If you were turned loose in a basic drug store (CVS, Walgreens - a pharmacy with attached mini-mart, basically!) with a $20 bill, what would you pick up? Is it Rite-Aid? Because then, I would pick up Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream, some loose eye shadow, and possibly either brushes, or interesting things form the dollar days section-- and lip balm. See how I didn't say "candy" here? Because I would never spend my free $20 on drugstore candy, nooo.   Darling Witchee, would you enjoy farmer's market pickled veggies (green beans, garlic, asparagus, etc) or fresh canned peaches or something of that nature? I would. I miss farmer's markets, often. It was the healthiest, least expensive, most awesome grocery opportunity of my college days.   Do you prefer color or white photographs? Nature or abstract? It probably depends on the subject. I prefer nature photos, and those I mostly like in color? I do like old architecture stuff, though, ruined medieval buildings and such. But I like those to have plants in them as well. With abstract, are we talking, here is an interesting shadow on Victorian wall paper, or here is the corner of a hinge, and the letter 'S', around a babydoll's disembodied arm? I'm not big on photography that looks like Salvador Dali set it up. There are always exceptions, but in general, I think I like simple better.   would you be interested in something like this? https://lostcrates.com/how-it-works That looks awesome. But also expensive. Please don't feel you need to buy costly things.   Amigurumi, yes or no? Sure!   I have a question! What are some of your favorite paintings? (famous or undiscovered?) Feel free to link to examples! Hylas and the Nymphs, a Mermaid- okay lots of JW Waterhouse images, most of the things I've fav'd on Deviantart that are pretty--rather than humorous, Things by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. My visual brain is not cooperating with the one that knows words. I'm sorry, I will try to remember ot update this when I am more lucid.   If you could have an image painted for you - sky is the limit - what would it be? I have no idea. O.O But that is a very good question. I think the artist would much better be able to take what they knew about me, and come up with something that I would adore, than if i tried to describe my vision to them.   Name your 3 favorite scents for candles Aroma-Mix(yeah, I'm into the inexpensive candles) Pomegranate Tea Chesapeake Bay Bamboo Jasmine And probably some scents I am forgetting, so I will say tie between Mediterranean Morning and cinnamon vanilla (both aroma mix) I did smell a candle that said Spider Cider, but I am not sure whether it smelled so good because it just did, or because the name made it more awesome than usual.   Name your 3 favorite types/flavors of tea Types: milk tea boba chai(as in the way it is prepared, not just the tea flavor) tie between straight green and white Flavors: Jasmine(but the kind you get at dim sum that tastes green and planty floral, not the one that tastes/smells like cloying perfume with a hint of neroli) Earl Grey Genmai cha (favorite herbal infusion is blackberry nettle)   Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. I'd love makeup brushes, especially angle and eyeshadow brushes.   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? I like legos, and playmobil, too.   Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. the Lab: Either two Weenies and two imps, or Dragon's Musk, Sea of Glass, and three imps. the Post: Belladonna or Hemlock yoga pants-- not sure which. Leaning towards Belladonna, for the sake of plant affinity, though the hemlock image is really nice.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? I love way too many characters to list. I'll list a few when my head is a bit more with it.Characters I love: Tsuzuki Asato(from Yami no Matsuei) Flynx(Phillip Lynx, from Alan Dean Foster's Pip and Flynx series) Nathan Wuornos(Syfy's Haven,)Gary Oldman's portrayal on Dracula(in Bram Stoker's Dracula),Mr Knightly(EmmaJane Austen)-- I'm really hoping this is what the question meant. All I saw was people posting pics of hot guys in the thread. So, if this was supposed to be more of an 'I you, man/woman!' thing, I apologize. I could go on, especially with book characters. But I won't. Because that's probably creepy. Right? The two choices that immediately popped to mind for identifying with were Pippi Longstocking and the Little Mermaid(probably more Anderson than Disney, I was too obedient/dreamy as a child). But maybe not so much anymore? I don't know. I also identify with Goldberry and Galadriel... I'm really not awesome like any of those people, though.   A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? Ecclectic, eccentric, and creative? I draw in an anime/manga aesthetic(shoujo style, heavy on chibi/SD characters[eta, because Roogna had a good point, but how does one describe the varying comic styles?]) most of the time, and when I am drawing in front of the kids I sub, I try to pare things down to simple lines that they can possibly imitate with not that much difficulty. I like to paint watercolor, and the look I go for is kind of dreamy and blended. Doodling is done whimsically, with lots of plants, swirls, patterns and stars. , you can really tell this is not an artist speaking.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? Nothing that I *must* have. At least, I don't think... Dancing in the Boneyard, Haint, and Ruby Cow sound nice, though.   So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I don't know. It could be really cool. But it could also be sad, if we somehow missed each other, or the house had exploded when you decided to visit.

12 Days of Delight

Posting Question answers here now, so that they can be centrally located-- and so I can ramble all I want. *mwa ha ha* I'll repeat all the questions. The answers may vary from before. They will likely be even longer. It will be a surprise!   Lush: is awesome. Sandstone soap is probably my currently available favorite, but there are lots of other things I love there. Even SLS inclusive things from there would get love here(much to my skin's unhappiness). Fruitcake: I like homemade fruitcake. We used to make huge batches when I was little. There was very little cake, and mostly nuts and fruits, with a bit of port(?). I'd love to try anyone's homemade fruitcake.   Recipes: I love them. I don't always follow them, but that does not make them any less awesome.   Baked goods: I would have them as a food staple, if I didn't have to deal with the health fallout. I love all the baked goods! Baked goods will be warmly received and quickly eaten. I especially like cookies, and bayou brownies-- we sadly lost the best bayou brownie recipe on earth a looooong time ago in moving, and have been striving to find one as awesome since.   Candies: I like candy. I'm especially fond of gummies and black licorice. Chocolate is always awesome. For homemade candies, fudge and caramel are big winners(if you can make anything beyond that, you are my hero. I tried making taffy once, and ended up with burned hands and blue corkscrew hardcandy. It tasted good, though).   Stuffed Monsters dollies: Are adorable. I went to LadyWench's Etsy store, and those little guys are awesome.   How do you feel about mini handmade art projects? I feel that they are awesome.   Kitty toys: My cats like toys. My cats like catnip. My cats have a habit of destroying anything from the petstore made of fabric or furry stuff. Seriously. They take out shoes. My cats are a small army of incredibly destructive ninja thieves.   If you expressed an openness to candles and/or room scent thingies, would you be okay with something that smells like winter holiday spices, baked goods, and greenery-- even if it says 'Autumn'? I am. Christmas tree is one of my favorite smells. I must say(since I was the one that asked), I bought one of the candles in question, to test just how winter it is, and it is fabulously winter. I will likely buy one for my Delightee. Which is good, because all of the 'Christmas' candles out so far are not that awesome-- with the exception of the Yankee Candle Spice Cake. That one smelled really good.   On the slightly off chance that I manage to make a Sinterklaas run before the mailing deadline, are there any Dutch/Indonesian food items you might be interested in? I will buy my things, on the off-chance I make it down there.   Are there any books you've been meaning to read but just never get the chance to? I'm a book hoarder. I have so many books. I'm in love with the idea of books-- of worlds captured in pages, and the thoughts of thousands of minds and imaginations condensed in to the printed word. Any books you would like to send my way will be loved and appreciated. I'm currently working my way through the last four years of Xanth, catching up on the 'Naked' regency series, a Llewellyn's magical almanac that my sister gifted me last year(it has a dragon on it), and I would be reading a biography of Agatha Christie-- except that I've misplaced it. Books I don't already have that I have been staring at longingly: Angela Carter's Nights at the circus,The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern-- which I have been wanting to read since before it was even out, but somehow haven't gotten, and Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. There are a bunch more more my amazon list, but those three sprang to mind.     Anything you're particularly wanting from the Lab/Post at the moment? My wishlist is pretty up-to-date. I will probably buy Witch Dance, Goldenrod Crab Spider, and Tears of Lilith before they come down, but anything on my list would be awesome.   From the Post, I'v been eyeing Spider Silk bath oil and Torn Candy Bag. I was looking at the Dead Leaves and Desolation candle, but I think I may have talked myself down. When/If the Goldfish Pool locket comes back, I may splurge on getting it.   How about GCs you keep meaning to get but never get around to? I've been looking at getting a bottle of Baobhan Sith, and testers of the Labyrinth Scents.   Cookbooks! Would you want any? Sure! Especially if they are about baking, herbs, or have a good recipe for Chicken Tajine-- oh, and anything with gorgeous pictures.   Do you have any fandoms? I like many things, but I am not super hardcore over anything...I think? I love Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, JRR Tolkien-- is Miss Marple a fandom? I like a lot of fandoms for their own sake, just because of the hilarious crack they come up with sometimes. There are a lot of anime, manga, book, and TV series that I really enjoy. If you would like a more comprehensive list, just let me know. It will be quite long, though.   Are you interested in any other etailers? If so, name one item from each that you're dying to try. Haunt: Witch-Wife(anything) Arcana:Murder Ballad Blues(as perfume) Conjure Oils: White Tiger Deep Midnight:Tea with a Dragon(there are other scents listed on my Etsy fav.s) Midnight Gypsy: Epicurean Cocoa Pink: Prudence(greasy body oil[hey, that's what it's called ]) Nocturne Alchemy: I'd love to try something from them, but I have no idea what-- Blood Orange Crystal, maybe? Possets- Hatshepsut? She was an awesome figure, her perfume could be equally awesome... Blooddrop-- mystery perfume!(I am such a sucker for grabbag type things) Moxie Nouveau-- Siren?   That's all of the etailers I haven't tried I can think of. Seriously, though, I would be thrilled to try anything from anyone I haven't tried. That's pretty much anything not BPAL or Violette Market.   Does anything from Sock Dreams interest you? Thigh high socks, over the knee socks. I have thick thighs and I think I am developing mankles, or cankles or whatever. My legs are voluptuous and not slender. I like stripey socks, and scrunchy socks, and super long socks, tights, leggings, and the $5 chevron sleeves.     Any movies (holiday or otherwise) that you want to see but never get around to? Woman in Black The Raven the Fall   Do you need any smartphone accessories (case, skin, etc)? I would love a rubberized hard case for a Samsung Galaxy Note i717, mine broke.   Tea, cocoa, other wintery drinks - interested? Yes. I love green and white tea. I like black tea, but shouldn't have a lot. Cocoa is awesome, milk drinks are awesome, Punjabi chai is awesome.   Small samples of homemade booze? That would be really cool. If it was something I could use in recipes(say for baked goods or candies) that would be doubly awesome.   Are there any other swaps you're involved in that may overlap with this one? No.   QUICK QUESTION: How would everyone feel about a slightly odd holiday specialty, Rosemary Pinenut Brittle? It's a blend of salty/sweet/savory and crunchy and I love it...but it's a bit expensive and labor intensive to make if it won't be met with enthusiasm. You can also opt for a "sample" size with the recipe, since I'll likely make one batch for home eating anyway. Bring on the Brittle! A small sample with the recipe(if you are okay sharing it)would be absolutely lovely.   Are there any subscriptions/gift cards you would be interested in? I like giftcards. Any music obtaining places or book buying places(though, mostly flesh and blood books, I have no ereader), Etsy, Amazon, does ebay do giftcards? I buy things from Half.com sometimes. Whatever you thought to send would be beyond totally awesome, and find a use, I'm sure.   Would you like anything from Cocoa Pink?   Prudence, Black Kittens, Violet Pixie Dust, Boogeyman-- lots of things sound yummy? The oils sound cool, or lotions, and that 'I'm 29' serum sounds cool.   How do you feel about stationery I love it. Paper, journals, fine point pens, notecards, stickers-- love it all.   Will gift boxes be welcome? Boxes are one of my favorite things. you put things it them, and then you open them later and it's just awesome.   Do you need any small things? I'm kind of guessing that this might not be a question directed at me, since I wrote kind of a novel about small/inexpensive awesome things in the questionnaire, but I'll go for it again! I'm taking 'need' here as things that I would very much like and might not otherwise buy. For things that are small in size that I probably actually *need*(though these are not exactly inexpensive): organic, brown algae extract caplets from the deep sea. Yeah...   Anyways! Here are many things that I would love for sure-- which are also small: Nailpolish loose powder/mineral eyeshadow jewelry string dolls(I had a problem where I was using all my quarters on these and baby Bok Choy boys last year. They are just so cute!) MP3 downloads/music/mix CDs stamps chocolate gummies lip stain ATC card packs stationery(like the kind that's $1-$2 at Michael's or Joann's; I'm totally pleased with those and use them lots) used books recipes perfume/EO samples? a slanted tweezer makeup brushes(ELF is one of my favorites; their studio line is comparable, if not better than a lot of high end brushes I've tried) scented candles tiny nutcrackers pens/pencils art supplies in general crochet hooks yarn apple chips or other dried fruits   If I think of anything else, I will try to add it. But I am seriously easy to please. If you are thinking of it, i will probably love it.   I am A-OK with having an item come later/separately from the big box-- as this is a worrying potentiality on one of the things for my Delightee.   Do you like knitwear? Yes, I do. I especially like scarves and hats.   Nail polish, yay or nay? What colors if yay? Yea, polish! I prefer 3free, but almost any color. I've been especially inclined towards metallics lately, and I would love to try those matte ones or a super holo duochrome.   Would you like hand dyed things, particularly scarves? What colors are you most interested in? I would love hand dyed things, particularly scarves. The colors I would most love would probably be blue-greens, or blue greens combined with anything else-- or maybe something fall colored. I'm easy on this. Scarves are love.   Card Games? Sure! As I said in thread, I'm not quite sure what, though. But I like games, so card away.   Wild rice, maple syrup, red sauce? I'd love to try LucyBoo's wild rice or maple syrup. I'm assuming that red sauce is made from tomatoes, though, and that would not be my friend, at all. however, if you'd already gotten it, or anything similar, there are other people here who would probably be thrilled if I made them dinner with homemade(and no doubt delicious) sauce.   Anything you might like from Bath&Body Works? Sinful Vanilla, or any vanilla from there, I think? Lemon, berry, sugarplum, mint, scented things; candles, sweet cinnamon pumpkin and such, and fun-named pocket bacs. I take them when I go teach(some people just don't wash their hands...)and the kids love the funky ones. No soaps or shower gels, please, as they are not my friend. Hand soap, though, is A-OK, as my hands are constantly getting harshed anyway, poor things.   Would you be interested in short mead packets from Ambrosia Farms? No, thank you. If you wanted to send yeast and your own recipe that would be cool, though.   Would you like cookie cutters? Sure! Preferrably metal ones, for durability, but any kind of shapes, especially fancy of unusual-- or really tiny. Or those strange ones that cut out a shape in the middle of the top of sandwich type cookies.   Would you like local honey or other localish products available via my local farmer's market? For that matter, how about infused salts (there's an amazing basalmic salt that a local place does) or vinegars or spice/seasoning packets? Yes, I would, especially the honeys that the bees went to a certain kind of plant or plant collection, like Marin Wildflower honey, or Eucalyptus honey, or that kind of thing. All the salts, especially infused, especially sea salt infused. Flavored sugars are awesome, too. Woo, vinegar, spices, and seasoning!     What are five of your favorite fruits? Mandarin, blackberry, raspberry, pummelo, currant(red or black)   What are five of your favorite herbs/spices? Mint, cilantro, ginger(powdered, mostly, for cooking;love it as a plant, too),cardamom, cinnamon   Are there any recent scents you may want to try? My greedy, little typing fingers have been very wild and loose about putting things on my wishlist lately. The only things not added as of right now is Miss Addie, which sounds yummy.   Dear Delightee - how do you feel about getting a book that is in the middle of a series. Say, I just finished reading something that looks to be something you would love based on your stated preferences, but it is book 2 (or 20) in a series? I'm fine with that.   Gift Cards? I could have sworn we covered this, but sure!   Red Cross Fundraiser scents? I'd like to try Miss Addie, possibly Wars of Venus.

Scents I've Tested.

Which I will hopefully update as I try more. ;)A lot of my bottles/loves aren't on here, because I copied this off of my scents tested--with notes list. if you love something, you are far more likely to just put it on, than take the time to test and write notes on it, I have found. best hope here is ctrl+F, if you want to find something.     Akuma Alecto All Night Long Al-Shairan Amsterdam Anathema Antikythera Mechanism Antony Anubis Arkham Athens Ave Maria Gratia Plena Azathoth Baghdad Baneberry Bathsheba Bayou Belladonna Belle Epoque Bensiabel Bess Black Annis Black Cat Black Forest Black Hellebore Black Pearl Black Phoenix Black Rose Blood Blood Amber Blood countess Blood Kiss Blood Lotus Blood Rose Bloodlust Bohun Upas Bordello BPTP Embalming Fluid bath oil BPTP LE Thriambus Roomspray BPTP XMVLZENCAB bath oil Bruised Violet compound Brusque Violet Burial Cairo Caliban Carnal Catherine CD Inez CD Margeurite CD Tireasis CD Zarita the Doll Girl Centzon Totochtin Cheshire Cat Chuparosa Cockaigne Cordelia Countenance of Foreboding Evil Coyote Crib Girls Crossroads Cthulhu Czernobog Dana O'Shee Dance of Death Danse Macabre Danube Darkness DC Arachne DC Asphodel DC Black Dahlia DC Clio DC Empyreal Mist DC Euterpe DC Hamadryad DC Hi'iaka DC Khephra DC la Belle Dame sans Merci DC Loviatar DC Magdalene DC March Hare DC Neo-Tokyo DC Niflheim DC Pannychis DC Penthus DC Phantom Queen DC Polynesian Pop DC Saint-Germain DC Shroud DC Silentium Amoris DC Silk road DC Sundew DC Suspiro DC Szepasszony DC Thaleia DC the Mock Turtle's Lesson DC the Music of Erich Zahn DC the Unicorn DC Three Witches DC Tiger Lily DC Urania DC Zorya Death Cap Death on a Pale Horse Debauchery Dee Deep in Earth Defututa Delerium Delphi Desdemona Destroying Angel Devil's Claw Dirty Djinn Dorian Dracul Dragon's Bone Dragon's Eye Dragon's Milk Dragon's Reverie Dragon's Tears Eclipse Egle Envy Eos Ephemera Epitaph Euphrosyne Eve Fae Fallen Fascinum Faustus Fenris Wolf Fire of Love Forbidden Fruit French Love Frumious Bandersnatch Glasgow Glasgow Gluttony Golden Priapus Gomorrah Goneril Grandmother of Ghosts Grief Harlot Haunted Havana Hellcat Hellfire Hell's Belle Hemlock Hemlock Honey Hermia Hetairae Highwayman Himerus Hollywood Babylon Horn of Plenty Horreur Sympathique Hunger Hurricane Hymn Hymn to Proserpine Iago Imp Imperious Tiger-Lily Inferno Intrigue Jabberwocky Jack Jailbait Jazz funeral Jezebel Kali Kathmandu King of Hearts Kitsune-Tsuki Kostnice Kumari Kandam Kurukulla Kyoto La Bella Donna del la mia Mente La Belle au Bois Dormant Ladon Lady MacBeth Laudanum LE 13 pink label(July 2007) LE 13-07 Purple LE 13-6-08 LE Aatos Polemoio LE Agrat-Bat-Malaht CD Grindhouse LE Anactoria 2008? SW Fall 2011 Part II

Hi, Witch! I've moved on to a part II, since there are increasing reports of cutoffs. I'm not sure i'm being verbose enough to get cutoff, but just to be on the safe side. Because, if it got erased, I would have to use my brain again, and lately, that hasn't been going too well for me.   I would also like to echo what everyone is saying about the wishlists being just that. Please don't feel, in any way, that you have to get anything from any of the links I've put up. They are mostly there for the shiny, as a note to self, or a reminder to get things for others(the 5lb. gummie I just put on Amazon, for example, might become a Christmas present for my sister ). Other than that, I hope you are having fun with SW, and Happy Fall!   Cthulhu: yay or nay? peripherally yea?   Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? Hmm, go to Japan? I guess that's more of a lack of funding, and you are old now kind of thing(I could probably have gotten a job teaching English abroad right out of grad school, but was told the invitation to post grad was a once in a lifetime opportunity, as so went there. I have no one to blame but myself ), or possibly, figure out what to do with the rest of my life career wise, and just do it. It's just all so discouraging.   Put your current mp3player (I am the anti-apple, so no ipod ), winamp playlist, what have you, on shuffle, list the first 10 songs: I'm going to do a new one, just for you, even though the one in thread was pretty good. 1.Stacie Orrico- Stuck 2.AbbA- Gimme!Gimme!Gimme! 3.El Alacran- Ait Benaddhou 4.Hakimakli- Dilly Dally(Laurent Wolf Mix) 5.Trinity Sound System- 88 Lines 6.Miss Jane- It's a Fine Day 7.Tanto Metro&Devonte- Wowee 8.Gay Pimp- Electroboi 9.Nelly Furtado- Turn of the Lights 10.Ice- Singin Dam di Da Doo Yes, this one was much more dance-heavy...   Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? And if you did (or plan to), you should share what you're getting? Nope. Perhaps I will towards November, before the Weenies come down, but I will make sure to let you know, if it happens in-round. So, I've basically decided that I'm going to order any Weenies I plan to just before the November 13th cutoff. Right now, I am leaning towards the Vampire Bride, at least one of the Apples, something from an Evening in Hades-- I kind of want to get complete sets of both of these series, but not only is that unreasonable, it's also a ridiculous amount of perfume! -- and possibly one from the Pickman Gallery; Changeling perhaps. But I'm limiting myself to a maximum of five. I will have to read reviews very carefully. But then again, I may only buy two bottles. I'm very indecisive on these things. *sigh* If I end up not buying any, that's fine, too. And, if you wanted me to not buy any, just let me know, and I will put them completely from my mind. But *please* don't feel you need to get me anything else after the glory of imps you just sent me. So amazing. I'm still trying to decide what to wear first!(Except Makhanitis, of course. Best scent ever, and I get to sleep in that )   Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! If you mean specimens and/or fossils, definitely. If you could include name, composition, and world location, that would be even more awesome.   If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? I have no fiber allergies, and I would love anything you made.   If you have a pet, could you please post a photo of it? I really need to see what your pet, if you have one, looks like. I will try to post some photos later(I probably have to gather them first), but I have a thing of posting my little ones online. I'm a bit weird on that.   Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? I own a pair(just big black rainbow glitter halloween store ones), but is it possible to have too many faery wings??? Woo Faeries!   How do you feel about terrariums? They are great. And so is this terrarium-like thing.   What's your favorite horror movie? Umm... In the Mouth of Madness? Or Resident Evil:Apocalypse, or maybe Silent Hill. But I don't really consider the first two horror. In my head, RE is an action movie, And ItMoM is some kind of comment on life. Silent Hill could be seen as a mystery... The Haunting(1963) has one of the creepiest movie endings ever. So, I don't know...   If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. Face lotion that is super-moisturizing without being heavy, organic, cruelty free, and has SPF, a good night time lotion/creme without SPF, body lotion(ditto to face) lip balm, mascara, loose eyeshadow, brushes, boar bristle brush or a comb, contact lens fluid. for shower, a good sls-free soap/shower gel, volumizing-moisturizing-protecting shampoo/conditioner of SLS freeness. Toothepaste(preferrably magic toothepaste that will undo the damage done by my former dentist-- and safely whitening, too). Jasmine green/white tea, snacks, water. I think that covers the stuff I use daily. I didn't put brands, because that would narrow down your creativity, should you want to do this. So long as it is natural(no petro products) and sls free, I'd probably love anything.   Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? Yea! I think I own all the books though, and my lovely Witch from last round got me a book of Jane Austen advice, that I am partway through. It's really cute.   I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? I like quotes, but I have no specific one or themes that is springing to mind at the moment... I though of a phrase "mono ni aware". It's a Japanese concept that encapsulates the transience of things, and the sense of wistfulness that comes along with that experience-- which must eventually end(and it sounds nicer than what I just wrote, right?).   Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? I do. Victorian and Regency. Perhaps a little 17th century... you know, I like fabric, leafy designs, dresses, so you are probably good with anything pretty that isn't too overly blingful would be awesome.   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? I like pretty pictures, the storylines, attractive characters(they are like fairytale characters, really), and the nostalgia. As a small child, I watched a lot of anime without knowing it. Princess Knight FTW.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? 1.berry patch, raspberry plum, bluegrass, mint medley? 2.fresh squeezed citrus, pomegranate fig 3.incense, spice trade 4.candy floss, buttercream cupcake,(maybe with raspberry plum or vanilla bean)   if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? I would need to think about this. A lot. I'll jump on the Waterhouse wagon. A mermaid, or Hylas and the Nymphs Though, being aquatic, they might not work on me. or maybe this from Etsy Or any number of nature and fantasy prints   Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Yes.   What's 'your' song/your theme song? My song??? So difficult! Perhaps "Baker, Baker" or "Here in my Head" by Tori Amos? "Sweet Transvestite"! It just is, in a way. It's my karaoke theme song, at least. Otherwise, themesong might be "Joyful Girl" by Ani DiFranco, or, I want to say "Witch Wife"-- which is a poem, but got put to music, so it counts? But then, if I cut my hair, that poem/song will no longer apply. I don't have a good answer!     What would be your superpower? What would I want? Really powerful magical abilities, or just plain ability to heal people of anything. What I have in real life(no joke here)? The power of Perv. If it is Wrong, it will find me. Two words: necro pants. Not lying. Also, creepy guys(and only creepy guys, sadly) seem to find me strangely attractive. Normal guys just know better, or maybe they just have much better eyesight. *sigh*   Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? That would be really cool:D   Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! Sure! I can't think of anything I'm particularly averse to. Oh wait, if it's a savory mix, please no onions, garlic, beets, bell peppers, or tomatoes.   Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? Sure? I have one somewhere. I think it has mostly sea symbols on it-- starfish, sand dollar, flipflop, and my sister got me a gorgeous tiny frog that isn't on there yet(because they are all packed away safely). I like charms, and anything you want to send would be appreciated.   Is there anything you'd like from the Mütter Museum Store? Umm, I just went on there. I only looked at he plushie section. The brain cell was adorable. It's also disturbing how cute some of the viruses and diseases are. Herpes looks like a flower. That's just not right. and the mad cow, so cute... O.o   I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? I've never done Cocoa Pink. If you think there is something on there that I would like, then sure?   If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? Pockets! Things with places to put stuff are awesome.   Would you like a photo collage based around your interests/favorite colors/favorite themes? Sure, that sounds lovely.   If you're crafty, are you interested in spoonfeather? And if so, what things there delight your eyes? No, thank you. Unless there is something on there that you just *know* is "me". you are the Witch.   Colors! What are your favorite colors and what colors do you not like? Pictures and links, people! Umm, I have no idea how to illustrate this... Google searches? Like: Sea the water and sky? green growing things sunshine and flowers magical creatures Fall and I like shiny things, but Google search doesn't do well with that. No movement.   What is your favorite word? I like words. I can't think of one that is just better than all the rest. Words I use a lot: fabulous, shiny, awesome random words that are fun to say: baboon, bunnies, PIGLET!!! cuss words: yes, I'm special pretty words: lucid, silken, liminal(although more for the meanign than the sound),crystalline, sea awesome, random word: disestablishmentarianism There are lots more, but you get the idea Also, some words strike me more in other languages. For example, I like vlinder more than butterfly.   What are the feelings on arm warmers? Color, style, texture, length? I love arm warmers. I like them really long, light weight or heavy. I like leg warmers, too.   Do you like tarts? tealights? jar candles? votives? I don't have a tart burner. I don't really do tea lights, except in pretty tea light holders occasionally. I like jar candles. Votives, sometimes.   What's your favorite flavor? Sour, sweet, bitter, salty? Sweet, sour, and then a sight lead to salt over spicy. I'm trying to think of bitter things that I like/dislike, and kind of failing, so bitter is okay in small amounts, I guess.   So, are there any online gaming witchees who covet purchasable in-game items or other gamer-y stuff? (yup, geek question) Not really. I have bought trees() on Farmville, and a white dragon(really, would you be able to resist if someone offered you a dragon for a dollar?) and I spent money to free the baby donkey from the mud in Frontierville, before I learned you didn't have to know people in order to have them as neighbors-- because I couldn't stand to see it crying. Like I said, "special". Other than that, I can't remember any instance of buying game things. I don't play WoW, or LoL... I just have a weakness for trees and animals. Please don't feel you have to buy me game stuff!   Anyone doing anything cool for Mabon (or the start of fall, if you aren't pagan? I am enjoying the day. I dozed outside yesterday at twilight with my kitties, and that was a great end to Summer. I may eat an apple, right now. They came from local orchards in the mountains behind us. Mm, apple. Yeah, so not really doing anything big. But then, not really pagan, as such. Lovely Witch, if you are pagan, I hope you enjoy a beautiful, festive holiday.   What is your favorite coffee blend at Starbucks? If you don't have one, what is your favorite roast of coffee? My favorite coffee blend is Pumpkin Spice Latte, followed by Mint Mocha. Yes, I realize that was not being asked. But it illustrates my level of coffee drinking, which is very low. I have, however, had four Pumpkin Spice Lattes since they came out this fall. But I had them at B&N, because the cafe staff at ours is incredibly awesome.   what's your favorite kind of pizza? Cheese. But since pizza is now making me unwell(probably the sauce)X.x, I'll go for a second favorite that is white sauce, spinach artichoke, and cheese.   who are your style/fashion icons? post pics if you want! I don't think I really have any. The styles I tend to admire tend to be on lovely, slender people--which is decidely not my shape. I'm much more merwoman than sylph. At least I come with my own flotation devices, right? Professionally, I lean towards low-frill clean lines, with a few accessories. Personally, anything from jeans and a t-shirt with flipflops to stilettos and some kind of funky sweater and mini skirt over leggings. I try not to overdo layers, though, since I'd look like a marshmallow. I am really failing on finding images of someone who dresses like I do... It's equal parts self conscious coordination and dress up(with fairy wings). Bohemian is kind of close, maybe, but not with so many patterns.   Are there any food items you're craving/aren't able to find around your area? I'm always craving black licorice(with licorice root, not anise), but there is a place that sells a few kinds on the other end of the valley. Hmm, black sesame mochi? But no need to go out of your way search for stuff.   Stuff you've been meaning to do: You just don't even want to know. Trust me on this. I am the Captain of the Elite Procrastination Force(EPF for short), with a side of convenient amnesia when something needs to get done. My psyche just says 'no', and I magically don't remember. A short sampling: clean up my bedroom, go through my boxes from just after grad school, remember to bring the industrial size trash bag full of donations to Goodwill with me when I go to town, study any number of foreign languages--some of which I once knew...and the list goes on, and on.   Would you be interested in regional jams, jellies, or other preserves? I would, definitely.   Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? My recent ritual has been realizing my eyes are not going to hold themselves open much longer, and then going to bed. Other than that, not really. I don't wear scent to bed on a regular basis. If I really need deep sleep, I will put on some Absinthe. In fact, I may do this tonight. Freaky dreams, Ho! Not that they aren't usually pretty entertaining-- just with absinthe, they grow deeper and darker.   Are you interested in today's/any recent Tee Fury shirts? I...I bought the Maneki neko Thundercats one. I'm sorry! I found it with only eight minutes to go. I was actually checking to see if there was possibly something Firefly related for my own Witchee. If you somehow had the magical awesome to pick this last shirt up for me, rest assured it will still be well loved(unless you wanted to keep it for yourself, which I *completely* understand). I would turn mine into a tote bag, and wear yours. Yessss... I honestly have not bought anything else. It was just only eight minutes to go, and Thundercats were a HUGE part of my childhood(I have stamps and a lunchbox, and vhs/betamax). I know that's no excuse, and I was a bad Witchee, and I really do apologize.   Princess Bride? Yay or nay? Most definitely yes. Probably movie, slightly more than book-- but only because the casting was just excellent.   What's your favorite classic fairytale, Witches? Why do I feel I've answered this before? I apologize if I am double answering, dear Witch. Goose Girl, Frau Holle, Snow White and Rose Red, Sleeping Beauty... I have a really hard time choosing one favorite over another. Also, my brain is refusing to auto-sort between "real" fairytales(as in collected from oral tradition) and Hans Christian Anderson. I like fairytales.   How do you feel about ethical animal fiber, i.e. wool and the like? I want that, and not non-ethical animal fiber? I think I don't understand.   What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel? Are they made of something that a cat couldn't potentially eat/destroy? Then, yes.   Look down. What are you wearing, right now? jean capris, a muted green tank with green flower print(they may be mums), and my undergarments?   Kerchiefs? For my hair, yes, for my nose, no thank you.   It's the weekend, and you find yourself without a single chore or responsibility for a few hours. Right this very moment, what's the one thing you would do if you could do anything? I have no idea. If I could do absolutely *anything*, I would buy the winning lotto ticket-- which would neatly resolve about 3/4 of the problems of just about everyone I know.   Done! *MWA HAHA* Please note: I am not particularly coherent today, and there is something wrong with my typing skills at the moment.   Is there any kind of international candy you love or would like to try? I like candy.   What is something totally random (yes, that thing that just popped into your head) that hasn't been covered by any previous questions? I have no idea. I think the Trogdorness from last night ate my random. Justin Tranter is freaking fabulous. That is as random as it gets tonight. Oh Hey! I thought of something today: contact juggling. It is awesome. I don't do it or anything, but that's pretty random. I love watching it. I'm not sure I could ever do it, because I have the natural ability to turn almost anything in my hands into an unintentional weapon. This one would be a projectile. That could be bad.   Is there any cheesy/non-cheesy Canadian stuff you'd be interested in? No?   If you were to go here and create your very own chocolate bar, what might it have in it? Dark chocolate, orange peel, cardamom, rose? or maybe violet. milk, cayenne, cacao nibs. Although, this would also be good with dark. White chocolate, rose ,violet, pretzels. any chocolate with berries(and mint). ...   Is there anything you're wanting from LPMP? Beyond the Veil, Phantom's Breath, and Knot sound nice.   Say you stumbled into Camp Half Blood (or whatever the Roman camp ends up being named <bounces in anticipation>), which god claims you? Poseidon, apparently.   JONES SODA CO has LE soda packs for The Guild, Buffy, D&D, So Cute, etc. Would you be interested in these, Witchee? No, thank you.   It'sBanned Books Week! Are there any books on the list you'd be interested in checking out? Not really.   I have just been enlightened to THESE. Are these flavors relevant to your interests? Absinthe, mmm. Ah! It was Dead Sexy? But they all sound nice.   What is something people are always surprised to learn about you? I'm not actually vapid?   So who else watched Babylon 5? A long time ago, but I don't think we finished the series. It was very drama heavy, but I still think I enjoyed it.   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? I still want to be Jenna Deepshimmer.   Sooooo Witchees, have you ever taken that particular personality test? If so, are you an Analytical, a Driver, an Expressive or an Amiable? I came out equally amiable and expressive. I think I'm also INFP on the Meyer-Briggs. I'm just a basketful of contradictions. Also, according to a random internet quiz, I am 71% ninja.   Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside? Maggots and mold;especially bread mold, and that kind that gets on fruit that looks like fur. Just, no.   what level of contact were you hoping for? The level of contact I am receiving. You are awesome. Don't stress, and...eat cupcakes? Mmm, cupcakes.   Your favorite restaurant or type of food to eat out. Would you use a restaurant.com voucher? Groupon? Indian and Sushi. Because it is a long drive to get sashimi grade fish, and I thus far fail at making korma(I make decent straight curry, though). I don't know if I would use a voucher. I don't go out much. But it is your call. If you send it, I will make an honest attempt to go use it.   Are there any local museums/attractions you keep never getting around to going to? I live about an hour and a half-two hours from Los Angeles, yet I rarely go there. I know there are awesome things to see. I just don't go. I have been wanting to go to the Arboretum again for...many years. And now, it is once again October.   What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? My purse love is on the extremes. On one end, I prefer the ginormous carry-all bag of DOOMB! I like fabric(because a washable bag is always a plus), over the shoulder, whimsical plant prints, and/or fun colors. On the other end of the spectrum, I love the bags that are little more than a wallet and have a wrist strap, so you don't have to worry about remembering they exist. My current bag is this one. It's not exactly washable, but it is made from recycled plastic bottles, which I thought was kind of cool-- and I love the print.   julep maven monthly boxes Sure! But I don't think I would want it more than once in a great while. I don't really wear enough nail polish to warrant a box of new every month.   Like commercial socks? By 'commercial', I am assuming 'socks from a store'? Otherwise, I am completely lost. I like socks. High natural fiber content preferred.   What kind of bear is best? A baby bear? Because it's all the cuteness of bears, and little ability to maim you. I also like pandas, and gummies. Speaking of which: click me!(deviantart link) Disney's Gummi Bears are also awesome.   Is anyone interested in reading The Night Circus? Yes, I am.   Hershey's Pumpkin Spice kisses? No, thank you.   I have a not-so-secret love for The Broship of the Rings. Are there any prints from her store you'd like? They are cute, but not really.   Who here likes Stephanie Pui-Min Law's artwork? Me! And the other two artists posted with this question in the thread, also.   Do you drink wine? I do not.   Is it just me who is nervous at revealing herself to her witchee, and finding out who her witch is?! Nope. I always have doubts that I am a decent Witch(because my Witchee deserves it), and that I am the most annoying Witchee on the planet. If I am, I apologize, and feel free to just ignore me completely.   Witches, did you lament NOT getting one of the condom case/imp cases that got released with the courtesan series??? No. Because if I thought about limited and hard to find things that way, I would be a very unhappy person. :nods:   I recently saw candy corn in non-candy corn flavors like CHOCOLATE and CARAMEL APPLE. It's not a fancy brand, I just saw it in the drugstore, but who here would like something like that? No, thank you.   Peeps? I like Peeps.   Haunt? Witch wife skin oil and goblin soap sound nice.   Possets? If you were buying things, and wanted to get me a cat rescue one, that would be cool(mostly because of the cat rescue part, but the scents sound pretty nice, also).   I think that's all for now? Hi, Witch(and anyone else randomly reading this post)!   Does anyone else like collector Barbies? I don't collect them, but they are pretty. I have exactly one. It is the Princess of Holland Barbie that my best friend gave me years ago.   What small everyday items would you like, that you keep forgetting to get? I am currently forgetting it again. Darn. I know there's something.   Tarot I like tarot. I have several decks. I would love a reading, if you were so inclined. Favorite major Arcana: High Priestess- favorite suit card: probably the two of Cups.   Tell me about something you like, and why you like it. You know this is the perfect opportunity to say 'I love gold fishes, cuz they're so delicious', right? Forgive me, I teach small children. I like the beach. I like it because it is in between, and because it is at once relaxing and extremely active. It is full of water and movement, and people are usually happy when they go there. I'm sure there is a deeper meaning to why I like it, but that's more a feeling, and less easy to put into words. How's that?   If you're the MMU type of Witchee, what Geek Chic Cosmetics tickle your fancy? I like mineral makeup. From Geek Chic, Sweet Transvestite, Hipster Ariel, Toxic Unicorn, Mana Potion, and the Legend of Zelda shadow set(but mostly because it is LoZ, woo!)   Would any witchees be interested inQuinn Popcorn? Sure? But I don't really like butter popcorn. As someone mentioned, the Orville Reddenbacker lime one is very good-- so is their manzanilla.   Who likes silly items from Archie McPhee??? No, thank you-- unless you see something you know I would love.   Nocturne Alchemy's NAlloween Pt. 2 update is live here! (And for a few days, last month's update too.) What do you want? Not that I've ever tried NA, but Sekhmet's Sorcery, Bastet's Witching hour, and Seti Moon look interesting.     What are you drooling over from the Sock Dreams Halloween stuff? The things that I listed in the thread that were awesome? I can't remember exactly, and the content filter is not posting my entries in chronological order. I do remember light blue and white stripe over the knee, diamond tights, and giant button garters. I really think giant button garters would be fairly easily makeable, though.   Luck charms? love 'em, maneki neko especially.   Does anyone want anything from... here...? I have no idea where 'here' is. So probably not? But use your judgement, dear Witch. If it was something you wanted to get me, I'm sure I would love it.   For those of you that like candles, do you like stuff from Yankee Candle? And if you had to choose, tarts or candles? Not really? It's not that they are bad, or anything. They just aren't the ones I go out and buy. Possibly because they are rather costly, and they don't seem to smell any more fabulous than other, less expensive candles. Perhaps I am missing something. My sister loves them, and so do a lot of other people. I'm going to say candles, because I don't have a tart burner.   Would you be interested in getting a custom necklace from here? I like necklaces. The word 'custom' implies expense to me, though. Dear Witch, you are so awesome. Please don't feel you need to be buying expensive things for me. Buying something nice for yourself, on the other hand...because you are awesome, and totally deserve it.   Is there a movie you want so badly that you don’t own now? Dark Crystal anniversary edition DVD. Yes.   Is there a song on Itunes that you haven’t downloaded yet? Funny thing. I just downloaded my first ITunes song last week. This was because they were offering one from Tori Amos's Night of Hunters for free. It took a good half hour to set everything up and then the download was really slow. I was not pleased. There are many, many songs I would like to own that I have not downloaded yet, from anywhere. There may be a few on my Amazon list. But I can't think of anything I must.have.now.   Is there a rare book you’ve always wanted? Always? I'm not sure. In the last ten years? The Carmina Gadelica by Alexander Carmichael. It's not *a* book, but rather, five, and I mostly want them in an attempt to rewrite my thesis to a point where I feel it doesn't suck. However, I got the reprint of the one that I would most need, and I haven't really looked at it, so I probably don't need them. You know, aside from the fact that they cost somewhere in the high triple digits. Yeah, no. I don need no spensive books.   Is there anything you want to buy yourself but have been too embarrassed (R rated or pg)? I don't think so? I really have no idea.   Have you seen the Lush holiday update? Do you like the look of anything from there? I have not. Hold on. Okay, what looks good are: Buche de Noel cleanser Australian Igloo scrub Celebrate lip thingie chilli tingle lip thingie I think I just like lip thingies...   if you were my witchee, would you want some of my hot nuts my candied nuts my nuts covered in butter and brown sugar candied walnuts? I love walnuts, candied or otherwise.   Is there anything you either didn't like or had never heard of that you're now curious to try thanks to the discussion in this thread? There are many things that I had never heard of before they were mentioned in this thread that I am now curious about, mostly makeup, and lip thingies.   Reveal? I would love it if you did. I will understand if you don't. I plan to reveal to my Witchee unless she requests otherwise.   Would you be interested in the #occupywallstreet scent? No, thank you. The cause is awesome, but patchouli is not my friend. You know what would be awesome? If you are one of the many, lovely Witches who *is* dying to have this scent, and you bought it, and gave it to yourself as a present to me. That would make me happy.   Do Paintbox Soapworks' Goat's Milk Hand and Body Creams sound like something you'd like to try? Yes.   Anything interesting from Sephora? the blue metallic liner pen that is like a marker?   All done. Woo hoo! Dear Witch, Just a quick note: I am answering all the questions for the sake of answering them. I'm trying to list something from each question of "what looks good" merely in case that was something you wanted to get. If it wasn't, don't worry about it! Seriously, I don't need all the stuff. I just have no idea who you are with your lovely secret stalker self, and I would feel awful, if you had asked a question, hoping I would answer because you had a Plan. So I am answering EVERYTHING. I hope that isn't too much of a headache. Please don't feel you have to read all the answers either. From your lovely ecards, you seem to already have quite a clear plan, and I am thrilled to see it's culmination-- whenever you feel it is ready. I hope you are having a great midweek, and that the pants are staying well clear of you. P.S. Can I just say how much the thought of you, out there, crafting away makes me smile? You have no idea. Thank you for being so wonderful.   Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? I love licorice, from actual licorice root. I like everything from the sweet to the salty, to the straight up ground licorice root(or, you know, whole licorice root that has been dried-- but a little of that goes a loooong way. It becomes a bit bitter). My favorite licorice is the kind that is shaped like little bee hives, but honestly, I don't think I have ever met a licorice that I didn't like at least a little. I've never had licorice that made me make a fish mouth, though...   Mac using witchees, what computers do you use? What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? As I said somewhere before, I am pretty much the anti-Mac. The cost is prohibitive. If I had an iPhone, though, I would love that little telefoto lens someone linked to in the SW thread. Also, Scrivener-- because that discounted copy I earned by working my butt off in NaNo last year? It still hasn't been released for PC.   Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? I don't really listen to audiobooks. No real reason, I just haven't-- Unless you want to include the luister sprookjes(listening fairytales) my parents got for me as a kid. Those were cool. I guess if you wanted to get me audiobooks, I wouldn't be averse to them?   Are there any DIY / Crafty / Free / Budget items you'd love to get but haven't noted yet? (Or, maybe you'd just like to emphasize something you may have only noted in passing?) Little, round loofah scrubbies? I'd also love hairthings, like ribbon bands or clips. I think those are fairly easily DIY. Really anything you'd like to make would be gratefully received. Making things is awesome.   Do you own a DSLR camera? Are you interested in a minky camera strap like these? What about anything from Photojojo? I own a digital Olympus sp800uz. I don't have a strap for it, so a strap would be awesome, or any other accessories. My sister had a film camera somewhere that I would use-- if I knew where it was. I like the tonality on film black and white far better than digital-- which for some reason doesn't ever capture the..crispness? of film black and white. But I'm only a hobbyist, so you don't really need to worry about getting me camera things.   Is anybody else into film photography? Interested in receiving film, supplies, etc from Lomography? I might be, if I could find my sister's camera. But, it's probably a bit expensive of a hobby to go on a what-if. Still, if you'd like to send stuff, I'd be happy to receive it.   Are you musically inclined? Do you play an instrument or sing? If so, what? I *can* sing. I don't really do it very often anymore(other than at random moments, or karaoke with my best friend-- neither of which are particularly about sounding good or technical execution). I've sung everything from Disney to Opera. I also own a gorgeous folk harp that, someday, I am going to get at least minimal proficiency on.   Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? No, thank you.   What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Dragon/Cruel/Happy Phantom/Datura... by Tori Amos (most of Tori's songs have great imagery, and would lend themselves to scents rather well, I think) Milk by Garbage A bunch of other ones...   Anyone interested in VApothecary's Halloween update? No.   Interested in anything from the Beaver Moon Lunacy update? Not really.   I sent you with $20 into a drugstore/Walmart (nothing too fancy/imported/expensive, just your average selection), and you are restricted only to the candy aisle. What would you blow it on? Haribo gummie bears? maybe Trolli peachies. Cola bottles. Most of the things I can think of are gummies. I recently discovered that I like milka chocolate; the hazelnut one. mmm.   What is your favorite kind of cookie?   I love cookies! I'm trying to think of a cookie that I don't like, and kind of failing. I'm also not sure of my absolute favorite cookie.   How many boxes are you hoping for? I'm not. I'm hoping my Witch is having a great time, even as I'm having a great time with my Witchee. Everything else is frosting.   How do you feel about loose leaf tea in baggies? I mean, I have a TON of loose leaf, would it be okay if I send you samples in some zip lock baggies? Or is that something that would squick you out? It would not squick me at all. I love tea. I would like to have it labeled though, if that was alright.   How would you feel about getting a custom poster with your favorite quote on it and some cool graphics? I'm an architecture student and can print posters (provided I make them) at pretty much any size using Adobe Illustrator at a low price. Also if you would be interested in this, what quotes would you like? I would love this, but I still need to think about what I would love on it(long day of fourth grader escapades). Or, if you were going to do something like this, dear Witch, you could just surprise me. i'm sure you have great taste. I thought of a couple of quotes! "Don't [just] dream it. Be it." It's mostly from Rocky Horror. the 'just' is me, because I think that dreaming is very important, but if it's all you do, then it's kind of wasted. Then, just about any part of Witch-Wife, but especially: "Her voice is a string of coloured beads, or steps leading into the sea." next-- and this is totally random-- from Emma "perhaps it is our imperfections which make us so perfect for one another." Although, why I would have that on a poster, I'm not sure... I had one more, but I've totally forgotten it. it was probably important. Oh well. Also, any lyric from any of my favorite songs would work also, as well as some of Nuala ni Dhomhnaill's poetry or it's translations. I'm easy, give me pretty words and pretty pictures, and I am generally ecstatic.   Is there anything you would want from NYCC, something you'd like your witch to ask me to pick up? No, thank you.   The best thing I ever ate...: I have no idea. there are many delicious things I have eaten. I like food. Off the top of my head food loves: kibbeling at an open markt, dark chocolate pear ganache cake, kroket, friet, deep fried mars bar(yes, I'm sounding really healthy, I know ), fruit fresh from whatever plant it grows on(blackberries, grapes, apples, I ate a fig today--so delicious), hazelnut gelatto, Love Sushi signature handroll, toffee pudding... I could go on, and I'm sure I'm missing tons.   Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? I love licorice. I've never had licorice that pulled my face into a fish shape, and I have had some seriously salty licorice. This is my favorite licorice. I also love dubbelzout, kokindjes, katjes, Potter's Linaea-- you know just about any licorice they make in the Netherlands. Trader Joe's now has an all sorts bag, and that was pretty darn yummy, too.   Mac using witchees, what computers do you use? What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? I have not the Mac.   Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? I don't think I have ever listened to an audiobook. Somewhere, I think I have Prisoner of Azkaban(<--so tired, I just spelled 'prisoner' with a 'z') on CDs-- and possibly Lord of the Rings? I worked at a bookstore for a bit during college. Yea employee discounts!   Woo! I caught up to the master question list(as of 10/14/11)! Hope you are doing well, lovely Witch!   Dear Witch,   I just want to say again how incredibly awesome and jaw-dropping your 'little' package was. Thank you!   What's on your list of formerly fun activities to reclaim, witches?? I'm not sure I have a list. I'm sure there are activities somewhere to reclaim.   As a Witchee, are you interested in clues to your Witch's identity? Sure.   Is anyone interested in participating in the sketchbook project 2012? It looks really cool, but i'm not participating.   Would you still want the project if it was a craft fail???? As someone in the thread said, your craft fail is probably my awesome. So, yes.   Do you need any winter wear, witchee? I don't think I *need* any, but I wouldn't say no to more.   I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy (if someone knows the details, shout it out because I am still searching). Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? No, thanks.   Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? I don't think so?   Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? Not really. I lie mysterious and spooky better.   So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? Earl Grey tea chocolate sounds yummy.

13 Nights of Halloween 2017

Are you okay with homemade food?
Yes. So long as it's not something that is going to go off on the way. Baked goods might be a pass, given that it seems like we are going to have a continuance of hot weather(by which I mean 100+ days), with the addition of humidity . Candies, canned or preserved, dried things, spice mixes, and anything like that should be okay, though-- just nothing that will melt or mold.

If you are okay with decorations, do you have a preference to table-top, wall hanging or window decorations?
I love decorations of all sorts.

How do you feel about stationary and/or papercrafting supplies?
I love them.

How do you feel about kitschy/silly Halloween jewelry?
It's fun. One thing I think I forgot in my questionnaire, though, is I don't have pierced ears. So, as awesome as the Halloween earrings are, those are not for me.

Would you like a Halloween wreath?
I'd love one. I had an absolutely gorgeous one made by a kind forumite, but it had dried gourds on it and it kind of died last year.

What rares are you dying to try???
Pink Moon 2017 and Vanilla Orchid SN? I missed them earlier this year, and would just like to sniff them, really. Other than that, my wishlist is pretty extensive.

Comic books and graphic novels:
are awesome.

Would you like to receive anything related to:

Disney?
Sure!
If so, any favorite characters?
Ariel for favorite princess, and all her awesome aquatic friends. This is not so much characters-- but since NMBC is Disney now, that whole shebang(if I had to pick favorites, it would be Oogie, Lock, Shock, and Barrel; because they have the best songs ).

And to be more specific about Disney: How do you feel about Beauty and the beast?
I loved the animated movie as a kid, have not seen the new live action. Belle would be a close runner up for favorite princess( because she's not a mermaid), along with Jasmine. Plus, books, inventions, and talking crockery are all awesome.

And what about Harry Potter related items?
Harry Potter is awesome. Would especially adore Frank, or other magical creature-centric, anything. Hogwarts House is Gryffindor, last time I checked. Ilvermorny house is Thunderbird. My patronus is(although I don't necessarily agree, I'm definitely not mad about it)... a brown hare. Well, I laughed, anyway. Luna's got a hare, too. So, I'm in good bunny company.

Pokemon? Any favorites?
I like Pokemon! Haven't played anything but Go in a million years, but I do still sort of collect the TCG cards ( because I buy them for treasure box, and sometimes there are doubles that are just too cute ). Pokemon are awesome. Top-of-my-head favorite are:
Dratini, Jigglypuff, Charmander, Mew, Ditto, Shaymin, and Mimikyu. A full favorites list would encompass probably a tenth of all Pokemon released so far, and that would be a bit ridiculous. I just like cute magical creatures with soulful eyes.

Is there any thing, category, or brand from which you would absolutely NOT like to receive things (ie., you're overrun with candy corn, you don't do scents outside of BPAL, or if you ever see another Stephen King item, it will be too soon)?
I hate Hershey's chocolate. Not really into Stephen King books, don't do slasher films, or the Saw franchise, FNaF, and I would rather not have anything made of bone or exoskeleton.

What kinds of art/art medium do you most enjoy, or would you most like to receive, in the context of this swap?
I love watercolor, and tiny figurines, but am also a big fan of the written word, imagery and rhyming. I'd love any art that looked old/aged, kind of dark fantasy or Victorian spooky, or seemingly normal images where something is just subtlely off-- especially *old* photos. Think Disneyland Haunted House or the pics in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiars

Bath & Body Works - love them or hate them? If the former, fave product types?
I like them. I don't really go there anymore, so whatever awesome packaging they come out with this year in the form of pockets backs, soap dispensers, or candles would be awesome to see-- and (although probably waaaayy too early in the season) someone told me their fir tree candle is amazing.

I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would be interested in?
Sailor Moon gachapon? San-X stuff, yuzu anything, and those seaweed caramels that I will probably never find again.

I'm in The Netherlands. Is there anything from The Netherlands/Europe that you're interested in?
Salmiak knotsen, Cassis, Roos Vicee, Potter's droppastilles... if you had access to drabbelkoek, and could send just a tin of those, I would be happy with that for all 13 nights, because it would make my mam's day. My dad might love you forever if you sent a roll of Droste pastilles. From Europe in general, Cadbury's Marvellous Creations with the popping candy and jelly babies (although this is probably the one thing on this list that I *can* actually order from here).

How would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? if you are on board with that, would you want a big wood box (~50 bottles), a small wood box (~20 bottles) or a tin for carrying imps around?
I love boxes; whatever size you wanted to make.

If you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)?
Handmade anything is awesome! Fall leaf colors, or watery blues/greens

Nail wraps - yay or nay? Would including a small manicure set to go with them help?
I've never gotten around to trying them, but have seen some totally adorable patterns, and would totally be up to check them out. I don't know if a manicure set would help?

13 Nights Plain text

Welcome to 13 Nights of Halloween, Year 2! Your co-hosts this round will be Meaganola and Usagi.   In this swap, you will have the opportunity to gather 13 treats for another forumite, while someone else does the same for you. Then, on October 21st, all participants will begin the party, opening one gift per day until the grand finale, on November 2nd. As an added bonus, and for inspiration, we are offering the option of following themed October Days ideas (a la the amazing Wacky Days swap). Check them out! Sound like fun? Then jump in!   Technical details:   *Signups will be open until August 24th, or when the sixty slots are full-- whichever comes first. *This is a one-on-one, mystery match swap; you send a package to someone, someone sends a package to you. Note: you will probably not be receiving from the person you are sending to. *matches will go out within 48 hours of signups closing. *The mailing deadline is September 30th. Opening of packages will begin on October 21st, and end on November 2nd. *There will be a question about homemade food items. If you are intending to make such for your partner, you might want to include a small 'placeholder' gift for whichever day you want the food to be and mail the food a little closer to the actual opening deadline. This applies to perishables, like cookies and such, and not necessarily to things like jams or pickles, which should be fine for the waiting period.   Rules:   *Please only sign up for this if you are able to commit the time, resources, and/or funds necessary to this swap. *if the unforeseeable occurs--and you are unable to complete the swap, let me know ASAP, so that arrangements can be made and your swapper isn't left in the lurch. *Swaplifters will be reported. *Due to international shipping constraints, there is a firm mailing deadline of September 30th. We want everyone to be able to start opening their goodies on the same day-- that’s kind of the point of the swap. *please be prepared to gather a minimum of $30 worth of goodies, before shipping. This does not mean that you actually have to hand over $30 to a cashier somewhere. There are a some seriously crafty people and thrifty shoppers on this forum. Use your judgement as to value, I know it's good. *Shipping within the US is required to include tracking. If you are shipping international, please hang on to your receipt. *Starting on October 21st, you are responsible for reporting into this thread every day to squee about your goodies for the duration of the 13 Days.   If that sounds manageable, then please fill out the very long questionnaire below and PM it to Usagi.   Forum Name: Real Name: Mailing Address: Email Address:   Allergies, dietary, and lifestyle restrictions: For matching purposes, are there any common allergens in your environment, that might affect matching (pets, smoke, live in a field of ragweed)? Is there anything(that you know of) which it is illegal to mail to you, or that might cause Customs to become upset and hang on to your package?   Do you celebrate any fall holidays? Please feel free to place as much info/context as you wish: Are there certain things for these holidays--or your general love of fall-- that you would particularly appreciate receiving? If you celebrate Halloween, are you dressing up? *What as? *Would you like costume additions or accessories? Dear Witch, :)

(it helps to actually post things, instead of saving them to draft) Hi!   First off, I apologize for not being on the ball and posting very often the past couple of weeks.   You are fabulous and awesome, and have absolutely made my last several weeks with your attention and lovely gifts. I've loved receiving all of your e cards and all the carefully chosen goodies.   I love the hairthings(and so do a lot of people who comment on how cute they are), and the gummie bears are going to get me through forever. I love how the seller on etsy you gave me a gift certificate to is not only an amazing craftswoman, but a working mother trying to pursue her passions with a small, home-based business. I still haven't found a frame that truly suits your art, but I'm not giving up. Right now, she sits in a bookcase, so I can still see her. Everything you have said and done for me is just so personal-- at times I wonder if you have some sort of magic key to my thoughts, because you've managed to catch things that I didn't even know I had mentioned anywhere.   I googled the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee, and you are right. It's so cute! And what they are doing is amazing. I think I'll be reading there more often now. Thanks!   So, just a quick thank you for being the most amazing Witch. I hope that you are having a lovely end of the week, and that only good things are taking up your time. I'm kind of that you still have more goodness in store, but I'm very excited for the reveal. Have a wonderful weekend!

Winter Solstice Swap Q&A

1. Dear fabulous future Celebrant(?); are there any things that you used to love to have for your holidays/this time of year that you can't get where you are now?   There are, but most of them are food items that would not travel well.   2. Where can I find your Q&A? Do you have a wishlist post/blog and does it link other things like Etsy/Amazon? My Q&A is right here. Links are: Etsy Amazon BPAL Deviantart   3. if you were to come into an unexpected windfall (a huge amount of cash), what would you get for yourself?   4. Do you prefer votives, tarts, tapers or jar candles (if you are into candles)?   Jars candles and pillar candles. Votives are cool, too.   5. Any books you've been meaning to get for yourself but haven't yet? So many books. My wishlist on Amazon is probably the best place to look. If only Half.com would let me share my wishlist, there would be eleven more pages of books. I like books.   6. Would you want something included for your pets? If so, is there anything they really like? That would be nice, buty isn't necessary. The cats like toys, and Goodlife Recipe naturals snacks. The dog likes rope toys, and any kind of food. I prefer they not get any food item that came from China.   7. Is there any Bath etailer that you want to try? That you love? What do you want from there? What's your favorite bath item? I'd like to try Paintbox Soapworks, and Long Winter Farm. I love Lush and Arcana's Murder Ballad Blues soap. I would like to try Arcana's Blue Geisha soap, almost any soap from Paintbox(there are many examples in my Etsy fav.s), and I think I have some things from Long Winter Farm in my Etsy fav.s as well-- though I don't know if they are bath products. My favorite type of bath products are soaps and scrubs.   8. Tea? Hot cider? Other Hot beverages? Tea is great. Green and white preferred. Hot cocoa and Punjabi chai are delicious. I am not a fan of hot cider.   9. Recipe in a Jar; soups, cookies, etc? Sure! cookies, soups. Just not tomatoes, please.   10. Do you have any fiber allergies? Not that I know of. I knwo I am *not* allergic to cotton, bamboo, silk, acrylic, or wool.   11. What colors do you like? (Pictures would be helpful!) I like blues, greens, yellows, silver, gold, copper, bright violet, and lots of other colors. I made a blog post with pictures, as requested.     12. What colors do you not like? I don't like...dead-looking? colors. Like things that are inorganic and soulless. Those colors aren't that common, but you see them and are sad. I also don't like colors that look really dry.   13. sweet Solstice Sister, what color of nail polish would brighten your senses or make you smile? Glitter or no? Yes to glitter, without glitter is fine, too. I love colors, I love sparkly things. I like pale, icy mattes and bright, glittery shimmers. I think I just really like nailpolish and it makes me happy.   14. Socks? short? long? fuzzy? Over the knee, thigh high, ankle; any kind, really. Fuzzy is cool.   15. Jewelry? Pierced Ears? Do you like necklaces/pendants? Bracelets? Rings? I do not have pierced ears. But that's okay. Something about earrings and my face shape makes me look like a failed drag queen in earrings. If I could look like a successful one, I might want to wear earrings. But as it is, no. I wear mostly necklaces, bracelets, and rings necklaces--any length; I think my neck is 13", so smaller than that would be a problem. bracelets-- I seem to have a preference towards bangle, but really, anything is fine. rings-- from a 5.5 to a 9, there will be a finger to fit them.   16. Anything you're particularly wanting from the Lab/Post at the moment? How about GCs you keep meaning to get but never get around to? Post: samples of the Halloween(and potentially Yule) bath oils Lab: Halloweenie and Yule testers of some of the ones I didn't sign up for. I think they are covered in my wishlist. I'll check when I finish this post.   17. Do you have any fandoms? Yes, and no. I have many things that I love and follow(or used to) pretty closely. Sailor Moon, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Yami no Matsuei, Kuroshitsuji(Circus arc totally killed it, though ), Harry Potter, JR Tolkien related things, Narnia, Xanth, weird crack "how-could-you-even-think-that?!" fandoms of fandoms that just make me laugh. I'm a big Agatha Christie fan-- Miss Marple especially. Pip and Flinx is another awesome series. I like a lot of stuff.     18. Does anything from Two Timing Tart interest you? Leaf Pile Candle.   19. Does anything from Sock Dreams interest you? Yes. No specific example springs to mind, though.   20. Any movies (holiday or otherwise) that you want to see but never get around to? There is a rather massive list on my Amazon wishlist.   21. Do you need any smartphone accessories (case, skin, etc)? Yes. A rubberized hardcase for my Galaxy Note i717.   22. Small samples of homemade booze? Sure!   23. Is there anything from local farmer markets that would interest you? Local Honey, salts, spices, vinegars... all the non-perishable small things. If your farmers' market has black walnuts, my mother would love you forever.   Do you have a favorite animal (or breed of animal)? Don't make me choose..... My favorite dog breed is the Akita. Greyhounds are beautiful, also. Cat breeds are Rex, Sphynx...okay I'm in love with most of them-- just not the ones with no nose and/or no legs. Simply because I feel so horrible that they are essentially stuck with super respiratory issues their whole lives. Their personalities are usually lovely, despite that, though. However, my boys(and one girl), are all Mogs-- so I have to say MOGS RUUUULE!!! *ahem* Other animals that will always elicit a include: Hedgehogs, bats, otters, baby just-about-anything(just saw a baby echidna for the first time; nearly died of the CUTE: of course then I went to find a link to share and Google gifted me "the world's most terrifying penises." Thank you, Google, for ruining that for me). I'm fond of pygmy hippos, seals and sea lions, and herons/ cranes, and sea dragons as well. This list could go on for ages, but I will stop. Fantasy animals: Dragons, Kelpies, pokemon(?), Alaspian mini dragons, and most of the magical people groups(selkies, merfolk, gnomes, elves, brownies, faeries, domovoi[the tiny ones that live in fireplaces not the folkloric ones who look like grown men and strangle people],naiads, dryads, nereids, Ents, etc).   Do you like stuffed toys/animals? I do.   Would you like/want anything Disney-related, or from Disneyland?   Sure! Don't know what, though...   How do people feel about puzzles? Board games? Any particular ones that you might like or have and would like additions to?   I like sudoku and word searches/scrambles. I like traditional puzzles also. As far as board games, during family holidays, we get together and play what I like to call Lazy Trivial Pursuit. This is, basically, where everyone gets a stack of Trivial Pursuit cards and asks questions in turn, and the person who answers correctly either gets the card or there is a point system. Although, by the end no one really cares anymore, and everyone is just fielding really weird answers. It's more entertaining than it sounds. That's really the only board game played.

Art Swap: FAIRY TALES!

Hi! I ramble, so I will put it here and not take up tons of thread space.     Ethically sourced creature things?   I'm averse to fur, and dead bugs would make me sad. Someone just made a very valid point that their pets might eat it, so no thank you on bones as well. feathers and plants are perfectly fine, though. Especially plants.   Who do I identify with?   Probably, the Little Mermaid and Rapunzel(haven't seen Tangled, though)? But, partly because of the trauma of sacrificing your hair. I look up to most of the heroines in my favorite stories, I guess, wanting to have characteristics like them, but not necessarily identifying with them as such.   I do prefer happy endings. But a dark twist on anything(so long as the baddie still gets theirs) is perfectly acceptable. And a dark aesthetic is lovely. Rat's Magic was one of my very favorite books as a small child.   The only time I was disappointed by an animal to human ending was in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, when Beast turned into Michael Bolton. As a kid, in the theatre, I remember there being an audible audience reaction of "AUGH!?!" Which was awesome.   I prefer humanoid fairytales, but I do still love animal stories(hedgehogs in a forest, etc.). Off the top of my head, I like the story where the monkey bets the elephant that he is stronger, and then bets the rhino the same, and then has them tug of war--because they are out of sight of each other. And, when they are both exhausted, he steals their bananas. Either it's an Aesop's Fable, or my imagination is even better than I give it credit for.   I'm currently watching both Grimm and Once Upon a Time, and liking them. Haven't seen Lost Girl, but I kind of want to now. As far as folklore goes, I like vampire, ghosts, and any kind of magical plant.   I'm not sure but I think I didn't include Princess Kaguya, or the Chinese version of Cinderella in my list of fairy tales. Of course, I probably didn't include a lot of them, but yeah. Like Sinbad and the valley of the shiny things(voyage #2, according to wiki), and also just for humor, there is a story of three brothers and a table that sets itself, a super strong donkey, and a club that smacks people. And the one with the three dogs, and the man who goes underwater and has to choose his true love from amongst her six identical sisters, and the one wit hteh super glue swan.... You know, I just like fairy tales, so you should pick something *you* will enjoy, and that will be awesome. And I should stop now.   Also, vaguely related, *HUGE* King's Quest fan. Wacky/unusual interpretations of fairy tales heartily welcomed.   So, I now have the phrase, 'kleptomaniacal lawn gnome' stuck in my head, so I will sign off.   Thank you for reading

I will stalk the toads in my yard for you! Any particular things you'd enjoy photos of?     Are there any things (characters, bad guys, halloween-related-things, fandoms, etc) you absolutely can not stand or don't want in your goodies?     Is there anyone else in your household that would appreciate a little extra included for them(pets, children, spouse, SO, house spirits, etc.)? This is also known as 'Do I need to send two bags of caramel apple Milky way; one for you and one for you...to share with other people?' Also, this would be considered an extra, and not necessarily part of the 13 gifts.     Do the mp3 player/radio station thing!(optional, just because I always like this question )     Anything from the [Lilith's Birthday] update strike your fancy?     I know we had a question about getting into new hobbies/crafts already, but is there anything else you've always meant or wanted to learn about/learn more about but haven't got around to getting a book on or watching a show about it?     Both Sihaya Designs and Elements and Artifacts did updates this week - anything that interests you?     I have a pretty massive farmer's market by me - is there anything that you would like from there?     Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? I can guarantee they are very yummy.     What is your favorite Halloween/Trick-or-Treat candy and would you like to have it included?     How much edible stuff do you want/would you expect? A little something in every package? A couple of treats along the way?     Assuming that I have a budget of X, would you mind if there were one big package that is 1/2X with the rest significantly smaller, but still fun, or would you prefer a more 1/13X breakdown?     Reveal - would you prefer it in the first package so we can chatter about things as you open, at the very end so you can drag out the surprise, or dealer's choice?     If you've noted that you like coffee/tea/hot cocoa or anything of the sort, can you elaborate? Do you like/not like flavored varieties? Would you prefer whole bean/ground/bagged/looseleaf/instant/have-to-heat-it-in-a-pan-with-milk? SW Q&A October 4th and 5th

10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? I like yarn. I don't think I am specialized or talented enought to prefer a weight?   Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? GRAVEVINE! Woo! Sorry, that is the coolest typ-o ever. I like wreaths. They are great, and I hang them up, and everyone is happy, because that is possibly the most ease of decorating thing there is. It's like; here is an entire seasonal display, in one item that you just have to find a hook to hang on. *ta- DAAA*. And everything is festive.     Do any witchees need a Snuggie? No. Oh please, no.   10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? Yes, international magazines would be awesome. Anything with plants or fashion-- travel, possibly baking. I like magazines in a non Roman script; they just look interesting. It's like the words are beautiful pictures I can't quite figure out.   Would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Oh dear. I haven't even looked. *sigh* Alright, I checked. I am safe! It started with a Kiss and Snow fairy lip tints look nice. But for the holiday stuff, sadly, I have no bath, and the shower gels that sound wonderful will likely do nasty things to my flesh. Boo...   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? I'm good, but thank you for asking.   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? I like #1(the bow tie red one), or #4(the chartreuse wrap with button).   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? That's no problem at all.

SW Q&A Sept.25-October 1st!

9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients?   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I don't think I *need* any, but sure?   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? I used to wear Akuma all the time. but I think I overused it at work, and began associating it with aromatherapy stress relief. So now, we are taking a break(Kumiho is subbing for him). If I really need help sleeping, I will use Absinthe. It reminds me of the anise milk I used to get when I was little. My scent for putting on and just instantly feeling happy and good, and comfortable is Makhanitis. It's just that awesome. But, I have all of these, so please don't feel you need to get me any of them.   What are you going to be for Halloween? It was between a tightrope walker(if you've ever seen the painting at Disneyland's Haunted House of the girl over the crocodile pit with her parasol?) or the same botanist character I am gearing up to be at the Steampunk Exhibition next year. But now, it is looking more like gypsy fortune teller/dancer-- which I was last year. It is both fun and comfortable.   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I don't think so?   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Maybe Cobwebs? But more Trauma and Peachberry from the last one.   How are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I currently have an awesome purse. I also have a tendency to use my purses until they end, and I would feel bad doing that to a gift. I don't really use lunchbags. I do use totes, cooler bags for shopping/picnics, and I love the reusable shopping bags that fold down in to a tiny square so I can always have one with me in my purse.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? I have a link in my sig to all the notes I know work or not on me. My favorite note include: anise, bergamot, champaca, currant, linden, mimosa, mint, musk, neroli/orange blossom, plum, ,(burgundy)wine, strawberry, and just citrus in general. I like fruit, candy, incense, spices, and happy flowers in general. oh-- and tonka and tobacco have been love recently. I have no idea what scent family I'm most in. I can't think of any notes I haven't tried that I'd like to, but I'll try anything once.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Sure!   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are they good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? It's me! Yes, to all of the above.   Haunt Update? Sure, but don't go out of your way. Winter House, Borgia, and Witch-wife sound good.

SW Q&A September 15th

How do you feel about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Depends on what it is. If you feel it's somethng wholly appropriate to me, that's awesome; as are useful things-- stationary, pens, pencils, stickers, magnets, books, pretty stuff, socks, seeds, hairclips... Okay, you know, aside from statuary, I'm having a hard time coming up with decorative only things available in the dollar section, so I think you're good.   Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? Far too many. I'm working on that. Someday, I won't be three years behind on Xanth.   Do you read mangas/watch anime? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive manga or anything related to them? Yesss...Are you ready for the super fabulous, insanely long, holy ,why?! list of doom? (it's okay, I'll do the abridged version)   Manga: Yami no Matuei(aka Descendants of Darkness) Samurai Deeper Kyo Dragon Knights Demon Diary Kuroshitsuji Petshop of Horrors Yumekui Kenbun Karneval Bleach Sailor Moon Caine Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Pandora Hearts Zombie Loan I'm capping it there, although I'm sure I've missed a ton Anime: Arakawa Under the Bridge(made me laugh so hard; thrilled it's been S2'd) Yami no Matsuei Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Pandora Hearts Gintama Majutsu no Index Railgun Baccano DRRR!! okay, I'll stop now. But as a side note, Koyasu Takehito and Sugita Tomokazu have fabulous speaking voices.     Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Heck yes! You are the witchee, and anything you pick will lbe fabulous. I love happy surprises.   If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? If you make me somethng it will be awesome and I will love it, and it doesn't matter if you used something on a wishlist for inspiration, or came up with something completely different out of your own genius mind.   OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I like natural fibers(bamboo socks, woo!), ankle, knee, over the knee, Thigh high(but I have thick thighs, so this doesn't always go well), slouchie. Fun socks are cool, regular socks are cool, the socks that have those arch hugging things are awesome. I'm not being very helpful here, am I?   How do people feel about word magnets? I love them, but have not much space to put them right now.   If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? I have no idea... I'm, umm, kind of curvy, yet for some reason am very attracted to things you might see on a couture runway. Hmm, I guess Victorian modern type things, pretty corsets and foofy gowns, fabrics with beautiful movement. This is a big part of why the steampunk aesthetic is attractive to me, I think. So if I could have any kind of costume stuff, I would like shiny, pretty, faery things. Yes...     How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. That would be awesome. I like to try new things.   What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I'm torn on the Inquisition(seriously, am I the only one who sees Mel Brooks dancing every time that word shows up?), partially because of being broke, and partially because, the idea of bonuses is awesome(white pumpkin, woo!), but I have no bath, and would not use patchouli bath oil if I did. I maybe will get Sluagh and/or an an t-Samhuinn soap. Maybe. But it's fine if I don't, because I have a lot of gorgeous stuff to please my nose with already.

Switch Witch Thread: Falloween, 2010 Q&A

I'll be trying to keep up with the questions asked on here. If I miss something, just smack me(or, you know, send an ecard). I will remedy the situation immediately.   First, some wishlists. These are really only to give you an idea of the really random stuff I might like, and in no way an advocacy to buy things.   Etsy Amazon If this is wonky, I'm sorry. I've never actually shopped on Amazon, and only made the list because ebay/half wouldn't let me share. And here is my Deviantart faves, for more styles/themes/etc. that I like. Be warned, there is a bit of nudity, and it's a little outdated. I have packed these with random things of awesome so you have the broadest possible idea of things I like.   Baked Goods: Are delicious?   Treats for Family and/or Pets(pamilets?): Certainly in no way necessary or expected, but there are some kitties here that might appreciate a helping of catnip, or fun toys-- should my fabulous Witch feel so inclined. Please, no food items, though. I've got two cats who have been in hospital, and one who is rather large. Anything not meat is being kept to an absolute minimum. I honestly have no idea what anyone(myself included) would get for the humans in my vicinity.   samples: Unless it's something I know I love, I appreciate the freedom of samples very much. But I have a thing for bottles. Ultimately, whatever my Witch feels works will be best, even if that is no samples(and trust me, that is absolutely fine as well, since I have a ton of scents to get through still ).   Groupons: I think I grasp what these are, but have no experience with them. I also live in BFE, and don't get out much... I'm sorry. Otherwise that would be a totally awesome thing to give!   T-Shirt size: is iffy. I have a large chest but smaller shoulders, and it tweeks me when the sleeve seam hangs off my shoulder; partially because it's uncomfortable, partially because I look like a potato. I usually wear small or(<- is changed due to recent clothes shopping, and the realization that I already look like a potato O.o ) medium t-shirts, fitted/stretchy, with a slightly larger neckhole, and no logo, unless it is dyed in, because of image cracking.   Pajama Bottoms: are made of WIN. cotton/flannel is my favorite, Large(maybe XL), with a drawstring. Because I like to swim in them, but I would rather they didn't fall off my booty.   Mix CDs?: music is Love. It's life, too, and also cookies.   Halloween plans: I'll probably be staying home, dressing up, and handing out candy. That's pretty much the usual for me. But! It gives me first dibs on the Halloween candy. The Dots are MIIINEEEE!!! I will also be on the lookout for a scary movie to watch. Or three. That way I can get both classics and newer things. Hmm...   Social Networking: I've been accused of becoming a hermit several times already this year. I will work on this, honest. Then I will post links in here.   Girliness: I don't consider myself particularly girly. I'm a girl. But those two have different meanings to me. I have some pink stuff, but don't actively look for it. In fact, when I end up with pink things, it's generally because it's a great pattern/cut/design and happens to be pink. I do like to wear skirts and dresses, but sometimes lack the ambient modesty level to not embarrass others while wearing them.   Jane Austen: Yes. I believe I own copies of most of them, but any Austen Related stuff, quotes, picture links, etc. is wonderful. I love Regency era clothing. I can't say I'm very positive towards ...and Zombies, but I haven't read it. I may never read it. I was told it basically just parsed up the original text and inserted zombie action, which is significantly less cool than what I had imagined upon first hearing of it. Also, that author seems to be doing the same thing to all kinds of other classics-- I just saw somethng about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and I admit to finding it slightly offensive.   Tarot: I read for myself(and sometimes friends), and I collect decks. If my Witch- or someone e knows- were so inclined, I'd enjoy a reading. My favorite deck is the Dragon Tarot, and sometimes the Faery Wicca tarot. It has the most beautiful representation of the Tower I've ever seen in a tarot deck, and it's based on Celtic tales.   Which Hogwart's House would you be sorted into?: I think I've had each House come up at least once in various quizzes. But the quiz linked in the SW thread says Gryffindor, so let's go with that.   David Tennant, Alan Rickman, Winchester Boys: No, thank you. But if they were single and amiable, I wouldn't say 'no' to Lucas Bryant, Colin Ferguson, or Hugh Jackman(or at least the characters they play on Haven, Eureka, and various movies[Kate and Leopold, aww]. Oh, Dear Witch, if you *do* like David Tennant--and have not yet seen-- here is a clip of him and Davina McCall on Mastermind for Comic Relief 2009.   Things for Cosplay/costuming: I'm not cosplaying right now, but if you happen to run across a good Beast(kuroshitsuji) corset, a link would be fabulously awesome. I modded one last year, and it looked pretty good, but offered no support. In the meantime, some friends and I are hoping to go to the steampunk exhibition in March next year, and steampunky bits and bobs are always appreciated. I only bellydance at home for fun, but I'd love anything I could practice with/in! I like dressing up.   TV Guilty Pleasures: I don't think I have any. I fully own my fandom. Besides, we don't have TV, per se. So all my show watching is done on Hulu. The closest thing to a guilty pleasure was a month or so ago, when I watched all the available episodes of "Losing It with Jillian." It was just really great to see people go for a goal and succeed. Update: I have found one: Destination Truth: it's the kind of show that has me yelling 'you are retarded and disrespectful' at my monitor. But they go all these great places, which keeps me watching. I just wasn't watching recently, because they had done something ultimately retarded and disrespectful, and so I didn't watch for the better part of a year. I've blocked out what it was. But they were going to Pompeii, and I got sucked back in. Yeah. I really hope it's just how they edit the show.   DVD format: I prefer widescreen, when available.   MP3s vs. CD: either or, really.   lip balms: are great! Original(peppermint) Burt's Bees is my favorite, and I've been liking Eos lately. I'm not fond of ones containing petrolatum, but I'm up for most all natural lipbalms.   knit items: would love them. I do crochet, but am not very skilled with knitting(yet). The effort and artistry behind receiving something handmade always makes it really special.   tarts: I dont' use them. I have a few candles that rarely get lit, and that's about it.   body mods: I don't have any, or plan to. My sister has a whole lot of beautiful skin art, a beauty mark stud under her lip, and a bunch of ear holes, though.   booze: I don't drink. But only because, of the myriad things I've tried, they have tasted foul-- except Jaegger Meister, which tasted like old time cough syrup, but unfortunately made me ill.   favorite artist or art style: artists- Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Josephine Wall, John Waterhouse, Brian Froud, and Arthur Rackham to name a few. styles-- pre-Raphaelite, art nouveau...I'm bad with styles. I like botanical drawings, fantasy, aquatic themes, knotwork, several manga artists' styles. formats--watercolor, pen and ink, sketch, photography. I like stuff.   anytime snack: all types of goldfish crackers. Walnuts, seaweed paper, and--unfortunately-- a wide variety of chocolates and cookies. But since I eat them so quickly, then they are gone, and I can't have more until I drag my booty to the store.   Nail polish: I like it, but am not very good with it.   What hobby/craft would you like to learn?: spinning, beadwork, basketweaving, bookmaking, scuba diving, making woodblocks, glassblowing, jewelry making. I'm up for new and interesting things!   phobias, squicks, and other "bad things": no real phobias. Maggots and mold are definitely squickful. Anything involving malicious violence-- especially towards children and animals-- is extremely upsetting. Action movies and martial arts type stuff is fine, however. And I have nothing against bad people being maimed.   Do you wear makeup?: I love mineral eyeshadow, and I wear mineral powder foundation, when I need to. I usually tend more towards balm, gloss, or stain on my lips.   How concrete is your Etsy favorites list?: A lot of it is just 'Oo, that's nice.' So if you find something similar or can make something, that is just as awesome--if not moreso. The only non-negotiable things are ingredients. There are a couple of things I'm allergic to, so if it has that, I won't be able to use it. But there are plenty of people around here who can, and would love it. Giving it to them would make me just as happy. So, in reality, you don't really have to worry about it.   Halloween Decorations: cute, creepy, funny, it's all great.   ceramics: would be lovely, especially if they are also useful.   mortar and pestle: love them ,have three or four, would always like more.   Disney Films: the Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty are my favorite, but Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Mulan are also great. I haven't seen Frog Prince(yet), I'm very much looking forward to Tangled. Not so enthused over Pocahontas, the Lion King, or any of the Toy Story movies.   Tech: I've got a computer on Windows 7, DVD player, PS2, Original NES(somewhere), and a Nintendo DS.   custom icons: would be awesome.   Socks?: I like socks; especially, ankle, knee, and over-the knee.   What's your comfort when sick/depressed/in pain?: Singing along to rippingly emotional music(Tori, Ani, opera), chocolate, mint tea, going into the garden and zoning out, reading.   Favorite Halloween or scary movies?: Resident Evil: Apocalypse Bram Stoker's Dracula(but I consider it a romance movie...) Dracula(1931, even with bats on strings, Bela Lugosi was,is,and always will be rivetting) Silent Hill In the Mouth of Madness the Gift What Lies Beneath(okay, it's more of a suspense, but it has supernatural elements) Bless the Child Rose Red Shaun of the Dead(yeah, not really a scary movie) Army of Darkness? Watcher in the Woods It The Haunting(1963, out of the films on this list, I think this one is probably the creepiest)   Halloween themed movies: the Halloween Town series, Mr. Boogedy, Monster Squad, Nightmare Before Christmas,Rocky Horror Picture Show(can you ever have too much fabulous?), Waxworks, Sleepy Hollow   scary books: Dracula. I like ghost stories, but nothing that involves loads of gore, or malicious violence. Plot over plasma!   Resonant Symbols: stars-- for hope, and the Orin(double twined ouroborus on the cover of the book in the Neverending Story), which is the only thing I've ever considered getting indelibly etched on my skin.   favorite Halloween candy: probably the little boxes of Dots. They had ghost dots last year, which were awesome , because they all looked the same, but were different flavors.   rereading books: I don't do it very often. My most favorite of favorite books are the only ones I've ever reread. Dracula, Firebrand, LotR, the Hobbit, Farthest Away Mountain, and a bunch of children's books. Fairytales don't count, though, right? I reread those all the time, and I can probably tell you oral versions of most of them.   what fantasy person/thing would you be?: probably a mermaid, or a sorceress-- preferrably a mermaid sorceress, with non-restricted landleg ability. I don't think I'd want to be any specific person, but I might like a vacation home in Xanth.   What historical period would you like to live in?: I think I know too much about most of them to want to stay there indefinitely(and, indoor plumbing), but if I had to pick maybe, Oracle at Delphi, scribe in Ancient Egypt, Court Lady in Heian Japan, or a miko or geisha in later times, Classical India--possibly a dancer, oh! I might like to be in Venizia to see Veronica Franco do her thing. It would also be incredibly awesome to covertly go back and observe Pictish culture for a while(but I would need an invisibility cloak...).   Comics: I'm really more of a manga/manwha kind of girl. But a long time ago, I used to read X-Men and Elfquest. Favorite manga: Samurai Deeper Kyo, Demon Diary, Dazzle, Yami no Matsuei, Sailor Moon, Kuroshitsuji, Bride of the Water God, Yumekui Kenbun, and a whole bunch(like Karneval and Pandora Hearts) that I just haven't been keeping up with lately, which is sad. I would like to start reading Girl Genius. One of my best friends is on about that one all the time, but it's online, and there is just a massive backlog to catch up to the plot. So I added the first compilation to my wishlist. Any comics or manga/manwha my witch thinks fall in line with my likes I'd love links to. I will get back to reading things again! Soon, I hope. My brain is atrophying from lack of escape...   Short stories and films: Interesting. "Rappaccini's Daughter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is actually one of my favorites from when I was a kid, and a big part of why I went for BPAL. Robot Carnival is a series of animated shorts from Japan which is amazing.   favorite baked goods/homemade treats: cookies, caramels. I used to make crumble as a comfort food.   Would you be interested in a birth chart?:Sure! Even if the one thing I saw said that I'm a mean miserly person because I have something with Capricorn. I think I'm kind of at odds with my star-given personality. It would be cool to look at similarities and differences.   What movies scared you as a child?: I got to see only-the-first-half of It when I was ten, and that was super special, definitely with the added bonus of it being a sleepover and having to sleep next to a round, red nightlight in a strange house right after. The Child-catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang freaked me out; he's still creepy now, but I want to find him and smack him. The Skeksis stripping scene in Dark Crystal(one of my favorite movies ever, though), and the bad toy scene in A Mouse and his Child. That always freaked me out as a child.   Name a couple of sites you frequent, other than this one: Etsy, Ebay, Deviantart, Hulu, Animesuki. Okay, that's more than a couple.   currently learning: I pretend to learn Japanese. I have three billion resources. What really happens is I make fun lesson plans for one of my friends who is trying to learn. She's doing extremely well, and I'm really proud of her for keeping up her motivation, despite a hectic work and personal life. Me, I have no motivation. I miss my chance to go to Japan, because-- we won't talk about that. It will just make me bitter. Someday, I will have motivation again. I will probably also be fifty, but oh well. ;p   Favorite muppets: That's hard! I love them all. Maybe.. the Swedish Chef and Miss Piggy? Bunsen and Beaker were pretty hilarious, too. Yeah, they're all awesome. Pigs in SPAAAAAAAACE!!!   If you could have a magical creature for a pet...: a dragon? I little tiny dragon, or one that could change size? It would make feeding it so much easier. I'd probably like having lots of magical creature friends better though. I'd need some intense telepathy skills to go with that.   any inconvenient package delivery time?: Someone is here at all times, so no worries.   What would your daemon/patronus be?: Awesome!   Steampunk?: Yea, all the way! I like the fashion aesthetic, the idea of Victorian Sci-Fi, and shiny things. I love shiny things.   honeycrisp apples: sound delicious. The orchard 40 minutes from us doesn't have those; they *do* have JonaGold. But the internet says they won't be ready until October. Which is such crack, since they were ready the first week of September last year, and we haven't had any massive seasonal variation this year. There was even a late frost last year... Where are the delicious apples??? *ahem*   receiving knitted items: YES! no fiber allergies. Any of my favorite colors-- heck any colors. Whatever you are inspired to make.   Gift certificates: physical/email?: either/or.   favorite Yankee Candle? Other brands?: I must admit to not being a big Yankee Candle person; indeed not such a big candle burner. Pumpkin Spice? I do like the Kohl's brand candles in pomegranate tea, mediterranean morning, and Bamboo jasmine(or is this Chesapeake Bay?). Oh, and Christmas tree. I do actually burn candles around Christmas and Halloween. I forgot about that.   Zuni animal fetish: I don't know... someone on the thread mentioned something about Akita statuary, but that's not traditional, I'm assuming. If you think I could use one, I will cherish it.   glowinthedark radishes: look awesome, but I have not the pierced ears.   what places do you visit that you'd like giftcards to?: B&N, Starbucks, home depot, lowe's (I like plants),Ross, does Trader Joe's do giftcards? Ross, lots of online place might be nice, like Adagio or other tea places. You know, whatever you feel is fabulous I will probably be thrilled with.   cake or frosting?: unless it's being homemade or at some kind of bakery or patisserie, probably neither. I do occasionally think I want the frosting that the Pillsbury dough Boy hawks in his little cardboard cylinders. And then I remember it is wrong and unhealthy, and makes me unhappy. I like marzipan as frosting.   cake truffles: sure!   Are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products?: no thank you, my lauryl/laureth allergy kind fo precludes cool tiny samples. I used to like them.   Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay?Dracula, Carmilla, old creepy vampire stuff. Blood and Roses--a 1960s movie(extremely) losely based on Carmilla-- is cheeztastic LOVE. Forever Knight(Yes, I am one with the cheez) is awesome. I'm not into Anne Rice, I've lost interest in Anita Blake(why the orgy pronz, why?), and I haven't read Twilight(yet, they just sit there waiting to be read). I am totally blanking on some other show that was about vampires that was good. oh well.   If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? PC,PS2,NES(8bit),DS. I put some games in my Amazon list thing. I would like Kingdom Hearts II, because my copy doesn't work. Thank you, Gamestop. Also, any games for my DS. I have four: Ninja Reflex, Spyro(the last one, which is insanely short and disappointing on DS, but awesome on PS), Elite Beat Agents, and an RPG I can't remember the name of from Japan.   How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? Flowers and plants are awesome and fantastic, and I must apologize because there are a ton of seed packets on my wishlists, mostly because the plants looked pretty. So anythign flower and plant related is going to be a definite hit.   How do you feel about marzipan? Mmmm. Especially the dark chocolate covered kind, or when it is filled pastry.   If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? Umm, I'm beginning to realize just how much BPAL I have and how seldom I actually remember to wear it, but... Succubus(just the empty bottle would be fine, I'm hoarding my two imps), Fairy Wine, Hanami maybe?   Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? Holy cow yes. Dutch licorice(likethe kind made from licorice not anise),salmiak, black currant lemon Fanta, revels, wine gums, and the list goes on and on... and there were once these Japanese boxes of what looked like smarties with little space monkey charms in them. I love prizes in my candy. It's double WIN! If you magicked me a dark chocolate pear ganache cake from Plaisir du Chocolat in Edinburgh, I would be stunned with joy and probably in a sugar coma within 15 minutes. But lacking magic, it is highly unlikely ever to happen. If you ever happen to be in Edinburgh, and you like delicious things, please take a moment to check it out. There may even still be an Italian gelatto/sorbet parlor next door, if that's more your speed. For some reason, foreign travel seems to be all about the food for me.   Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? I haven't ordered anything, nor do I plan to for a while. I'm a bit strapt, and money is earmarked for Witchee, bills, and Christmas--roughly in that order. ;p BPTP wishes are in my forum wishlist, but the two that are really singing to me at the moment are Sluagh and the an -tSamhuinn soap. And for some reason the Treat bath oil, even though I have no bath. I think it's just the notes sounding yummy.   If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) That would be ace. Paper(esp. marker paper), pens, markers, pencils, yarn, anything really.   Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? 1. Le Disko- Shiny Toy Guns 2. At the End- iiO 3. Turn off the Lights- Nelly Furtado 4. Faces Like Mine- Emilie Autumn 5. Ugly- Bubba Sparxx   Soundtracks you'd like? I may need to get back to you on this.   Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to last.fm immediately and create an account! Download the scrobbler! Link us to your account! If you reject this assignment, maybe just tell us what your mp3 player says you listen to a lot? Here is my Pandora Profile, with quite a few stations listed on the lower left.   Any countries you're interested in? All countries are interesting! The one I'm most yearning to go to right now is Japan, followed by India, because my god daughter is there. She just turned 1, and I have a feeling I'm not going to get to meet her in person for a very long time. but that doesn't mean I can't send her presents throught the mail, right?   Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? It's weird that my immediate answer to this was 'YES!' even though I don't have a bath, isn't it?   If your witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? Of course! Perfection is cold and sterile. I hear master potters purposely add a flaw to their work at the end, as a form of signature, and a way to give their art a soul. If you make me something, I'm going to love it.   Are you a foodie? I like to cook and to bake, and I love looking at cookbooks and new recipes; although I have to admit to a very strong propensity for letting the little directions fly out the window. I need improvisation in my food! LOL As to foodies scents, not that much. no aversion(usually), but the only food item I tend to smell like is candy, and that is wholly a reflection of body chemistry. My soul is clearly made of some kind of sugar, probably citrus based. yeah..   Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Not so much. Dad is an all American football type guy, but we don't have TV anymore. I like to watch soccer with other people, and had the hilarious privilege of hearing all of Edinburgh roar when England lost to Portugal at Euro 2004.   For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? I decorate for Halloween and Christmas, allowing the general fall themed things to stay up after Halloween until the Christmas decorations go up. I would love decorative stuff; especially Fall themed. We have tons of Christmas decorations(although those are always appreciated, too), and significantly less Fall ones. I have an absolutely gorgeous wreath from a lovely forumite last year(LucyBoo21: she who is awesome). It will go up at the end of September. But if you've in mind to wing some things over this way, I will decorate with glee. Especially Halloween stuff, and anything with fall leaves. I love leaves.   what interests you from the latest lab update? far too much. I created a special section in my wishlist(link in sig.) just for that.   How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? I love stationary. All kinds of stationary are fabulous. I enjoy writing by hand and, so like pens and pencils. I've been debating getting a real fountain pen. But I'm left-handed, which may or may not be problematic? But there are so many ink colors available! Yes, I am a writing/drawing nut.   Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated vegies, pickled onions, chilli jam?) That would be awesome. If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? partials are great for me; I'm a dabber, so it's the same as getting a full thing to me.   Would you like something you have to make yourself? That might be super cool.   Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? If you have got the stuff, the skills and the time, you make that thang! So long as it's what you want to do. It's really up to you. I do love handmade things, but carefully selected bought stuff is great, also.   Who is your favorite soap etailer? Lush? I have to admit: I haven't bought a lot of soapy lovelies for myself online.   What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? Teacups are awesome. I have a few antique ones. I'd like to have a mish mash vintage tea party someday. Vintage decorative stuff is great as well. I've got a couple of lovely Victorian ladies' magazine prints framed on my wall.   With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? This is pretty much up to you, my Witch. I like getting mail, but if you have a plan that requires saving your awesome package until the end, that works, too.   What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I wear mineral makeup. But mostly, I am lazy and only really wear eyeshadow. I love shadow, though; lots of different colors and shimmers-- or mattes. Here is my Fyrinnae wishlist, for an idea of colors. I have a wishlist at Sassy Minerals as well, but I can't seem to link to it. I'll work on that. I think I need to make a registry.   Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with) I tend not to think of real people like that. After all, you don't know who they really are, do you? What if they are horrible people? Imaginary people, hmm. The books I read with strong male characterization tend to be of the romance variety. I like seeing them end up with their love interests. I fail at this question! I'm sorry!   Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? No... I have a bottle list, but I think it is a couple of bottles out of date. Basically, though, everything GC that I *haven't* tried is on the ginormous wishlist of D00mb linked in my sig. The only ones that aren't are things where the description said something along the lines of "I have combined Tea Rose, Nuclear Jasmine, and Patchouli into the ultimate scent!" in which case, I kind of tiptoed around putting that on the List. I need my sinuses and my grey matter. But I'd be happy to make a list of what I have already tried, if you'd like me to, dear Witch.   Do you like maple sugar candy? I'm not sure I've ever had any. It sounds good.   What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? I like chocolate. I like bacon. I would rather not have chocolate on my bacon, or bacon in my chocolate. I occasionally like maple syrup on my bacon, though.   If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? Tea cozies are cute! We have a Christmas one and a regular one. But we also have this "issue" where someone forgets to put the thee mutz back on, and then we have a pot of cold tea.   Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? ground ginger, paprika, and lemon pepper?   Microsoft or Apple? Microsoft. Windows 7 is joyful.   Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Last November I planned a weekend to Avila Beach with two of my best friends. My favorite part was the beach. My favorite part is usually the beach. We saw the elephant seals, and sea otters floating with their pups on their bellies. It was very relaxing.   Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? I certainly would. I'd be open to swapping the sending of letters to our Witchees. The easiest access I have to postcards is the generic CA ones, but I know a couple of places that might have some more special ones as well.
