Honey-Dusted Skin Musk

Comforting and uncomplicated: a toasted honey note, almost caramelized at the edges, that softens into a powdery musk that reads as clean, warm skin that's been kissed by something sweet.

In the imp: The Lab's gorgeous honey with powdery musk.

 

At first: Super sweet honey and must. I will be shocked if this isn't a winner for me.

 

Overall: Of course this was great on me. This will be nice as a travel scent, since I just have an imp...for now.

In the imp, it's a bit stronger than I anticipated, given the notes in question. I've already tested the (plain) skin musk, which I did intentionally so that I could do a direct comparison with this one and the first thing I notice is that the musk doesn't read the same here, which I'm frankly surprised about, as I was anticipating "new Skin Musk SN + Honey Note of some kind". Instead, in the imp, that honey note is *so* strong that it doesn't even read as honey anymore but as...almost cardamon?  

Once applied, some morphing occurs and the primary thing that this scent has in common with its Skin Musk sibling is that it's a bit of a morpheme and goes through a leap-retreat-leap-retreat phase before it gets around to settling into the skin. 

But the wait is worthwhile, because it actually comes closer to what I was expecting the plain Skin Musk to smell like, which is a light musk that adheres close to the skin, and is light enough for daytime use but also a little sultry, if you're the type that likes to play your seduction cards close to the chest.

I personally tend to wear a great deal of kinda-heavy or dense scents, so I don't know that this is something I would personally use to layer with other things, but the scent is really lovely on its own. I will certainly bring this imp on trips with me etc and see how it ages- it might become a bottle purchase for me down the line
