brwnpaperhag Report post Posted July 2 My decant has been waiting for me and I finally had time to test it tonight. this starts off very…feral? Musky? I just googled tayabek, which is a jade vine, and could possibly give off a musky or even anchovy scent, which honestly sort of tracks for what this opens with. Luckily, it doesn’t last long, it’s just umami and surprising, and leads into a very heady jasmine (the sampaguita). This floral part goes through the dry down, and although I’m not the biggest jasmine fan, I don’t mind this one, as it’s very lush. when I catch wafts of the scent from my wrist as I’m moving, I get the faintest hint of banana, but I might be imagining it because it just reads very similar to the luper Filipino scents I got recently (the wooden shoe one, bakya, especially - this one seems like a sister scent) I’m not getting any jackfruit or calamansi yet, which is a shame, but I have hope they’ll show up. TBH, they could be blending well with the sampaguita, because I am not minding this floral one bit. As it sits on my skin, it gets this really nice fruity/sweet aspect, and I can’t tell if that’s my skin getting along with this jasmine or if it’s something else. this is definitely not a scent I would have ever picked up had I truly thought through this scent profile, but it is familiar and I’m glad I have it. doomsday_disco Report post Posted Tuesday at 11:12 PM I'm not familiar enough with all of the floral notes in this blend to say for certain which ones I'm getting and which ones I'm not (I mean, I've had butterfly pea flower tea, but I don't recall what the flowers smell like 😅)... that is, with the exception of the jasmine or sampaguita, which is definitely a main player on me. I can smell some of the starchy ube with it, that I think is preventing it from being as heady as it would like to be, but I sadly do not get any calamansi (which I would have liked to smell in a perfume!). This would be best for someone who enjoys jasmine and would like a floral-forward moon scent just lightly tinged with ube. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
