doomsday_disco Report post Posted February 13 It's official. Purple sage is my favorite sage. I knew I enjoyed it in scents like Colemanite Phoenix, Thirteen (13): January 2023, and No Man is an Island, but it is really the star of this duet. It's so relaxing and herbaceous in a way that reminds me of lavender. The piñon lurks behind it and complements it perfectly. I tested this in wet hair one day and dry the next. I could smell the scent in my hair on both days, but it was far more prominent in dry hair. Whenever I would have my hair up in a bun and took it down, I would always get a nice whiff of the hair gloss, which made me feel really relaxed. I have a decant in the original bottle, and although I have very few desert-y scents to pair with this, I don't think a decant's worth will be enough. I just feel like this is one of those scents that will be hard to obtain more of once it is gone, and I can't bear the thought of running out when it is so comforting, so I am going to have to get a bottle. leptonpyr Report post Posted March 9 I blind-bottled this based on the strength of this review + another forumite's recommendation, and I'm SO glad I did! Purple Sage & Pinon is the absolute PERFECT complement to Wolf Moon -- it's SO herbaceous, camphorous, and a little bit smoky. The smoky/sharp camphor really brings out a surprising sappy sweetness in Wolf Moon I hadn't noticed before, and just makes me love it even more. Lovely, very photorealistic sage note (I can see the lavender comparison!), which I'm ecstatic about because I love sage and so far every perfume I've tried with sage listed as a note has mysteriously failed to appear on my skin. If you're a fan of Wolf Moon or foresty/camphorous scents in general, you'll want to grab this one before it goes down. It is what it says on the tin, and it's fantastic! greylen Report post Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM So I mostly use hair glosses these days though I still buy plenty of perfumes. I use the hair gloss sometimes as a light dry-oil spray on the skin as well as my hair, often adding a complementary perfume oil. I don't see why you can't, I mean, the scalp is skin after all. Just don't spray it (or apply any BPAL/fragrance product) to sensitive areas/open skin and mucus membranes. Don't be an idiot 🙂 Thiiiiiiiis is a DELIGHT. I remember being excited for the White Sage Single Note a few years back because I love the smell of sage both burning and OF fresh, culinary sage. I didn't love it. I don't remember why, I've long since sold it, but this is way more what I was expecting in terms of what I parse as the smell of sage, herbaceous and green but also with a gorgeous sweet and smok This also dinged a scent memory of Lush's Cosmic Dreamcatcher massage bar. I actually looked in my stash and found a very old but unopened one of those and it complements the gloss very nicely. I kind of pigeonhole myself sometimes as a vanilla/foodie and amber girlie, but there's lots of other notes I like. Pinon doesn't appear to be in a whole lot of BPAL products, but I will definitely consider any blend where it features prominently going forward. Purchased from Lab directly, keeping it, but likely don't need backup. HG doesn't keep for as long as perfume.
