One Post To Rule Them All: DRAGON CON 2025

Recommended Posts

Thought it would be helpful to share one big post with everything that will be debuting at Dragon Con next weekend, where we'll be vending from Friday the 29th through Monday the 1st.

Note that the upcoming BLACK MOON, LUNA NEGRA, SCHWARZER MOND will also be at our booth!

++ DRAGONS 2025

Available online AND in-person at our booth for the duration of Dragon Con weekend, Friday through Monday.

Label graphic by Erick Turner

5ml Perfume Oil ($32):

✤ BASTARD-AMBER DRAGON

Rarely glimpsed except in reflections or the flicker of fading film, the Bastard-Amber Dragon drifts through time like a fever dream of Old Hollywood. Born of illusion and artifice, it casts everything in its path in a honeyed glow. Its scales shimmer like tawny celluloid: aldehyde klieg lights illuminate golden resins, husky with toasted brown sugar.

✤ CAPUT MORTUUM DRAGON

Also known as the Dead Head Dragon, this is a guardian of rot, rust, and revelation, feeding on spiritual decay and quietly hoarding the sordid secrets of the powerful. Scales of deep purplish rust-red: black fig, patchouli-steeped purple clove, black tea, blackcurrant, red musk, and oud.

✤ CHARTREUSE DRAGON
Rare, reclusive, and devoted to contemplation, Chartreuse Dragons make their home in high, wooded monasteries carved into moss-draped cliff faces. Its scales shimmer in shifting tones of yellow-green, laced with the scent of lime rind, crushed apothecary herbs, and translucent vegetal musks.

✤ GREIGE DRAGON
Often found napping in office cubicles and unrented studio apartments, this dragon is too apathetic to be evil and too bored to bother with goodness. She doesn’t hoard gold; she collects neutral-toned throw pillows, unread magazines, and Live Laugh Love-branded décor. Their scales are a rainbow of oatmeal, sandalwood, almond milk, tea-stained vanilla, and undyed wool in a muted eggshell finish.

✤ MELICHROUS DRAGON

Sweet-tempered and kind, this emotionally generous dragon has a hoard made not of gold, but of handwritten letters, warm socks, library check out cards, and old mixtapes. Famed throughout the realms for offering a listening ear and a warm hug in lieu of unsolicited advice, it roosts in sun-warmed meadows, secondhand bookstores, and antique shops, and its scales glow softly in shades of sun tea, wildflower honey, and sweet apricot.

✤ PUCE DRAGON

A fussy, irritable, irascible dragon with a taste for drama, velvet throw pillows, cryptic social media posts, ink-smeared burn books, biting commentary, and vintage clothing with a past. Its scales are the color of dried blood, old bruises, clove-spiked pomegranate, aged patchouli, and vermouth.

✤ SANG-DE-BOEUF DRAGON

A rare, complex, and challenging serpent, the Sang-de-Boeuf is born from fire, pressure, and chance and treasures masterpieces of beauty that reveal themselves under heat and duress. Its scales are a deep, passionate red draped in lacquered shadows: glazed black cherries, Kyphi smoke, plum wine, and red sandalwood.

4oz Hair Gloss ($36):

✤ CERISE DRAGON

The tiniest of dragons, these flirty, silly, and theatrical beasts build their nests in gilded opera boxes, toy stores, and above confectionaries and sweet shops. Their scales blaze like a handful of maraschino cherries and red currants bathed in fluorescent lighting, sparkling with sugar crystals and drizzled with vanilla liqueur.

✤ FLAME-OF-BURNT-BRANDY DRAGON

A decadent, daintily debauched, and delightfully improper dragon, Flame-of-Burnt-Brandies love scandal and sparkle and whispers of delicious nonsense. They make their homes in séance parlours, stately manors, and abandoned ballrooms, and their scales flicker like flame on a holiday pudding: lavender, lilac, and lemon peel curling over brandy-soaked honeyed fig and sugared plums.

✤ GLAUCOUS DRAGON

Contemplative and aloof, the Glaucous Dragon prefers mist-shrouded beachside cliffs, sea-battered ruins, and fog-thick fjords. These dragons are unapproachable and solemn; their scales are the color of weathered stone, pale sage, silvered fir resin, white amber, beach lichen, and hazy orris.

4oz Atmosphere & Linen Spray ($33):

✤ COQUELICOT DRAGON

Cheerful, loquacious, and attention-grabbing, Coquelicot Dragons are bold, confident, lively, and crackling with infectious laughter. They are most often found perched at festivals, concerts in the park, and block parties, their scales of citrus zest, wild poppy, red carnation, crimson amber, mimosa, and pink pepper gleaming in the sunlight.

✤ GAMBOGE DRAGON

At first glance, the Gamboge dragon seems unremarkable – quiet, muted, seemingly dull – but beneath its subdued surface pulses a fierce golden flame: a sun-bright wit with a venomous streak. Its scales are the color of old gold, translucent frankincense tears, saffron sap, and fossilized amber.

Every leaf tells a story.

✤ DEAD LEAVES, MOLTEN LAVA CAKE, AND RAW CACAO

✤ DEAD LEAVES AND APPLE PIE

++ HALLOWEEN MAIN CATEGORY PERFUME OILS

✤ SPOOKY
This classic BPAL Halloweenie dating back to 2003 has returned from the grave! A maddeningly festive blend of warm, buttery rum, cocoa, coconut, vanilla and a jolt of peppermint – a sweet, decadent, slightly silly scent, reminiscent of rum-laced holiday cookies.

✤ GRAVEYARD DIRT
This is the scent of pure graveyard dust, spattered with grave loam and dusted lightly with tombstone moss.

✤ OCTOBER

Ay, thou art welcome, heaven's delicious breath!

When woods begin to wear the crimson leaf,

And suns grow meek, and the meek suns grow brief

And the year smiles as it draws near its death.

Wind of the sunny south! oh, still delay

In the gay woods and in the golden air,

Like to a good old age released from care,

Journeying, in long serenity, away.

In such a bright, late quiet, would that I

Might wear out life like thee, 'mid bowers and brooks

And dearer yet, the sunshine of kind looks,

And music of kind voices ever nigh;

And when my last sand twinkled in the glass,

Pass silently from men, as thou dost pass.

Dry, cold autumn wind. A rustle of red leaves, a touch of smoke and sap in the air.

✤ SAMHAIN

Truly the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.

Label artwork by Drew Rausch

✤ IN NIGHT WHEN COLORS ALL TO BLACK ARE CAST

An inner darkness: ink-black vegetal musk, opoponax, velvet myrrh, nagarmotha, black champa, labdanum, and plum honey.

Label artwork by Drew Rausch

✤ PUMPKIN LATTE

Espresso, pumpkin syrup, smoky vanilla bean, milk, raw sugar, and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg.

✤ THE HAG

The Hag is astride,

This night for to ride;

The Devill and shee together:

Through thick, and through thin,

Now out, and then in,

Though ne'r so foule be the weather.

A Thorn or a Burr

She takes for a Spurre:

With a lash of a Bramble she rides now,

Through Brakes and through Bryars,

O're Ditches, and Mires,

She followes the Spirit that guides now.

No Beast, for his food,

Dares now range the wood;

But husht in his laire he lies lurking:

While mischiefs, by these,

On Land and on Seas,

At noone of Night are working,

The storme will arise,

And trouble the skies;

This night, and more for the wonder,

The ghost from the Tomb

Affrighted shall come,

Cal'd out by the clap of the Thunder.

Black musk, bay leaves, galangal, bourbon vetiver, blackcurrant, and rum.

Label artwork by Drew Rausch

✤BLACK EYELINER
A 99-cent drugstore eyeliner freshly melted with a Bic lighter, in concert with the leathery metallic gleam of a well-loved pyramid spike bracelet.

✤ ABSINTHE PANCAKES

Flapjacks drowning in an intoxicating blend containing wormwood essence, light mints, cardamom, anise, hyssop, and the barest hint of lemon.

✤ HALLOWEEN HAGELSLAG

Who wants to go Dutch with us on a warm slice of buttered pumpkin bread covered in chocolate candy sprinkles?

✤ PLASTIC RATS
A tribute to the squeaky plastic rats that haunt every Halloween bin — adorable little horrors with gleaming eyes and crooked tails. Shiny black licorice, grey amber, and a dusting of smoky black pepper.

✤ GUMMI FANGS
With apologies to Bram Stoker: though sympathy alone can't alter facts, it can help to make them more bearable… and so can a mouthful of gummi fangs! Daub your pulse points with the scent of chewy red fruit gums and shining white vanilla teeth.

✤ VINTAGE KITTY BLOW MOLDS
Hollow plastic shells of mango sherbet and musky black clove echoing with a ghostly miaow of glowing amber.

✤ PUMPKIN ROOT BEER FLOAT
You’re a grownup, no one can stop you from slurping up clouds of rooty foam from around a giant glump of pumpkin ice cream squished onto the rim of a frosted goblet.

✤ DARK MACADEMIA

These are dark times indeed... so here's a gourmand for the brooding scholar. The warm, nutty richness of roasted macadamia folded into the dry papery musk of time-worn tomes bound in crackled leather; golden drips of beeswax candlelight flicker against polished teakwood shelves, while the smoky warmth of fireplace smoke lingers in the air.

(Nutty portmanteau absolutely intended. Don’t @ us.)

++ HALLOWEEN FLASH SHEET PERFUME OILS

Creepy tattoos will always have a special place in our hearts, and on our bodies. Making judicious use of BPAL’s inkiest accords, this series of 5ml perfume oils is a tribute to those who commit horror to the flesh, and to all the artists who design and apply it. For example: John Herndon, who created this set of ooky-spooky flash-style designs for our labels.

✤ DEVIL FLASH
If you sign his black book, he’ll give you a free stick-and-poke with his pitchfork! Tattoo ink steeped in infernal musk, with a splash of brimstone cologne.

✤ SKELETON FLASH
No shoes, no skin, no problem! Scorched sandalwood and polished bone shards spattered with tattoo ink.

✤ TARANTULA FLASH

Wish we had eight arms – then we could get more sleeves! Tattoo ink afuzz with caramelized pumpkin pulp, bourbon, cranberry juice, sweet patchouli, and red peppercorns.

✤ WITCH FLASH

It doesn’t get more “traditional” than this: a cauldron of tattoo ink infused with sorcerous roots and heady incense.

✤ ZOMBIE FLASH

Just imagine all the tattoos hidden below as you walk through the cemetery... maybe you’ll get to see some of them in person one day! Grave loam, mushrooms, Spanish moss, a smear of ink, and a blob of braaaains.

++ WILD HEARSES PERFUME OILS

✤ HISS & HEARSE ($35)

A dribble of Dorian and a squiggle of Snake Oil, delicately stirred with a moss-crusted muddy shovel.

✤ HOT PINK HEARSE

A dream hearse for anyone who grew up presiding over numerous doll funerals: flashy pink guava, strawberry jam, sugared pink grapefruit, blackberry, bergamot, and pink champagne adorned with a gleaming chrome Landau bar.

✤ LIME GREEN HEARSE

A shiny, genteel, vintage ride for all those who feel dead inside: lime rind, citron, petitgrain, white musk, a swish of bay rum and a bit of black pepper.

✤ CONVERTIBLE HEARSE

The cadaver, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind: a chilly whoosh of dead leaves seasoned with the perfect amount of smog.

✤ HEARSE OF PANCAKES

There’s still a little time to kill before the viewing… surely it wouldn’t hurt to stop for a short stack? Black coffee, syrup-drenched buckwheat cakes, and a crusty cruller for the road.

HEADLESS HEARSEMAN

A bottomless swirl of black leather, dead branches, and flaming pumpkin guts.
