    Snake Charmer Hair Gloss

I'd never tried Snake Charmer prior to this but I got caught up in the hype and purchased a bottle. My only regret is not purchasing two. This definitely smells similar to Snake Oil but I find it to be much smoother and less acrid right out of the bottle. It's a lovely mix of spice and sweetness without being overly cloying or harsh. This is musky, spicy, incense vanilla paradise. I have thin, fine hair so I have to be careful about how much I spray. But with the right amount, once it dries, it looks so luxurious and shiny without being greasy!

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Frimp: Sweet florals. Wet: Very sweet gardenia at the forefront. Unfortunately I'm one of the people that finds violet smells a bit like a green banana on me and the violet and vanilla are doing this now. Dry: The sweetness has died down a bit to make way for a slightly powdery vanilla with hints of floral. Verdict: This is a very pretty scent and I'll definitely use up my frimp but it's too sweet to really be up my alley, I'm afraid. The violet banana thing isn't really my cup of tea either.

    Panther Moon

Origin: BPAL's Etsy Bottle: Smooth dark sweet musk. Wet: Something sharp and spicy on top of the musk. I think it's a tinge of the anise and ginger. Spicy incense. Dry: Beautiful sweet musk and incense. Something about the sweetness of the musk mixed with the salt in the ambergris makes this such a "skin" scent. It's a very comfortable scent on my skin as if it is actually taking on some of my skin's characteristics. It has very little throw for me unfortunately, and seems to snuggle up close rather than roaming out on its own. But it feels so lovely and natural on me. Verdict: Absolutely love this. It's very smooth. I feel it all blends together into a single impression of sweet, musky darkness. I get the feeling that on the right person it could be a powerful and sensual panther scent, but because it's so subtle on me its more of a soft and warm kitty.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Horror Unthinkable and Unexpected Eldritch Drunken Constellations Not super exciting labels, but I didn't see them in the thread.

    Bordello

Imp: Candy-sweet plum and berries. Wet: More of the same candy-sweet purple berry scent. Bright, juicy, and fun! Dry: The scent pulls way back and becomes much more subtle. Something dry and incense-like seems to come forward under all that sweet fruit. Perhaps it's how my skin portray's the Lab's wine scent. It's very faint now, almost powdery fruit. Verdict: It's a pretty scent but unfortunately doesn't have a lot of depth on me. It tries very hard to round out into something lovely, dark, and naughty, but my skin eats up most of everything before it gets there. It's definitely intriguing enough that I'll keep my frimp and see if it does better in hair or as a locket but it's not making me want to spring for a bottle.

    Wererat-Infested Sewer

I received this as a sample along with a bundle of imps I purchased recently and was happily surprised to find that this scent is actually quite appealing. It's sharp and green and a little bit musky/spicy. It definitely smells like a nice masculine cologne to me and not at all like the bottom of a sewer as I'd feared. This is a fun, fantastical interpretation of a sewer's scent and not the actual thing, luckily!

    Eldritch Drunken Constellations

Bottle: Fresh green/white citrus. It smells like a mix between lemon and grapefruit to me although I know neither are listed in the notes. Wet: Much of the same green/white citrus. I suspect it's the eucalyptus and white tea mix. Really not sensing much of the ambergris although there is something grounding and musky? Dry: There's almost a creamy aquatic aspect to this now. It's warming up the bright sharpness this had before. I'm not sure if this is the ambergris or not. It's too subtle for my uninformed nose to really know but it smells musky and almost on the verge of spicy. Perhaps that's how my nose is interpreting the salt? All in all, a really lovely clean, unassuming scent. Very summery. The white/green is so bright and does bring to mind stars while the ambergris gives these stars a strange hint of mysterious underwater depths. I only wish this had a bit more throw on me. I feel I have to have my wrists up to my face to really appreciate it. I don't at all regret purchasing a bottle but I'd be more likely to buy another if only I didn't feel the need to slather so.

    Lightning

Imp: Very similar to Sea of Glass only with less of a juicy fruity scent. It's sharper. Wet: Sharp bittersweet clean florals. Dry: Very pretty soap. It's not a bad scent. In fact, it's very pretty and clean. I can imagine many people wanting to smell like this but I already have enough lovely smelling soaps. I'll keep the imp and likely wear it a bit, but right now Sea of Glass is still my top contender in this category.

    Coyote

I received this as a frimp and although I didn't initially like the scent in the bottle, once I put it on my entire perspective changed. Bottle: Sharp with a sweet scent so thick I feel like I'm almost chewing on it. Wet: Wow! The sharpness goes away almost immediately and the sweetness dies down to a lovely soft musk. Dry: Warm and sweet. There's definitely a sense of dust like summer heat but it's not the kind that literally seems to dry out the inside of your mouth as you smell it. It's definitely of more a sense of warmth than of dryness. Its sweet and spicy like bundles of dried grass and herbs. It doesn't really smell "animalistic" to me at all. My skin actually seems to be amping the musky sweetness so although it does have a masculinity, I think it could be very gender neutral. I could wear this with a dress. Unfortunately it does seem to have a very short lifespan on me. It's already fading and there isn't much throw at all. It's such a lovely scent, though, that I'm willing to give it a solid go. I love the idea of walking around in a lovely golden cloud of this scent.

    Haunted

Imp: Harsh amber with an almost lemon edge. There is a bite to it for sure. Wet: Mellowing out a bit. It's becoming fuller and rounder. I think dusky describes it better than smokey. I believe that must be the black musk. There is a sort of biting spicy scent that warms my throat when I smell this. It reminds me ever so slightly of the lemon in Lush's Big Blue bath bomb. Dry: A really beautiful musk with a latent golden amber sweetness. The spicy scent is still there but instead of biting it nuzzles. I really like it! It does strike me as mature, perhaps even a bit old-fashioned. So I can see how this could end up "old lady" to many. But it's beautifully warm and full. While many have described this as comforting, it does evoke a sense of something half forgotten on my end. Waking up from a dream and finding you can only recall colors and feelings.

    Anne Bonny

Imp: Musky herbs. Wet: Very woody. Not like trees woody but the sort of pungent sweet spice of old worn wood that's been sitting out in the sun. I do get the sort of antique store incense vibe as well. Dry: Its dried down to what smells like man to me! I agree with the other reviewer who said it smells like a sauna. I do get a very warm woody scent with a faint hint of skin and sweat. It's not bad. In fact, I think it's beautiful and enticing in its own way. This isn't a sweaty gross man scent. This is a man who showered this morning and then spent a little while sawing wood. It's like sawdust on skin and I think it could be layered in really interesting ways to make some perfectly piratical scents. I'm currently fresh from a bath wherein I used Lush's Big Calm shower jelly which smells very softly of coconut and pineapple. And it seems like a good mix. That being said, it's just not my thing, and I get the most ominous suspicion that if worn over time, my skin would amp the sweat factor and betray me.

    Blood Kiss

Like many others have mentioned in this thread, Blood Kiss turned into a all up vetiver party on my skin. It's a real shame because the notes in the description had me drooling. Imp: Cherry with an oddly sweet and savory tone. Not juicy so much as thick? Wet: Vetiver. Just so much of it. All the vetiver. If I huff really hard I get a smokey spicy sweetness that could be the vanilla/honey combo but it's just absurdly overwhelmed that I can't tell. Dry: Just a fainter version of the wet stage now. If your skin doesn't swallow up that savory cherry I got at the beginning or the smokey vanilla I can just barely detect, I can imagine this being an absolutely delectable scent. Unfortunately, all I can do is imagine.

I received this as a frimp and I was surprised by how much I loved it. Right out of the imp and on my skin it's sweet juicy grapes with a hint of candied purple florals. On skin as it dries the leather peeks out a bit but is still largely dominated by sweet grapes and florals. On me it's very bright and sweet, but my skin swallows it up quickly and turns it to powdery play-doh. Such a shame because I love the first stages. I might set this aside and try it again at a later date to see if it fares better. I would genuinely consider a full 5mL if it didn't turn to powder on me.

    LUMAI

I snapped this up as a 5ml impulse grab from Etsy when the shop went back up a few days ago and holy beautiful scents! Out of the bottle and wet it's a soft citrus floral for me. Dry on my skin it's still citrus floral but with a much warmer musky resin base. It's sweet but not in a foody or cloying way. It's very clean and airy on its top with gentle resins as it dries.

    Hollywood Babylon

Really sad about this one. In the bottle and immediately wet on my skin it's lovely juicy cherries backed by spicy vanilla and something dry to balance. Perhaps the amber? Then a few seconds later my skin absolutely swallows it up. All that's left is a dry powdery amber smell and I have to basically stick my wrists up my nose to smell it. Such a disappointment! It sounds so lovely in all of the other reviews. I'll keep it around and see if my skin likes it better after its sat for a while.
  16. Ah what a shame. It's probably the lack of pepper in it. I'll likely still give it a go, anyway. It sounds amazing. It was a toss between that hair gloss or good old Dorian, but realistically I'll probably end up with both. I guess I'll be on the lookout for Mars and hope for the best. Thanks for your input!
  17. I'm yet another person seeking something that will if not replicate, at least compliment Lord of Misrule. After doing some digging I was wondering if anyone here has tried Revenant Rhythm? It seems like it has the two main notes I detect in LoM which are patchouli and vanilla. Can anyone weigh in? I'm considering ordering the hair gloss.
