  1. CLXXIII

It's very creamy in the bottle. On my skin, it's LEMON :ack: . Oh dear, lemon does not like me.

As it dries, the lemon doesn't turn to pledge as it usually does on me, but it overpowers the initial creaminess. There's maybe a touch of something floral in here? I can barely detect the O underneath it.

This could be very pretty, I think, but not on my skin. I believe this one is a swap.

  2. Comfort scent is Snow Moon, which reminds me of my beloved North Carolina mountains in winter time. This can put me to sleep like no other scent, even those containing lavender. Snow Moon was my first BPAL obsession, and I have managed to amass an almost unconscionable number of bottles.

Oh, this makes me want to try Snow Moon. I was born and raised in the NC mountains. *is now homesick*

  3. My best girlfriend(the one I enabled*evil laugh*) pulled out her decant of this over the weekend and let me try it. Sadly, my skin turned it into bug spray. I'm serious. It was bug spray for about ten minutes and then it disappeared completely.

On her, however, it's the freshest, prettiest rose you can imagine. Really lovely. She says it fades on her too(not as quickly), but she catches whiffs of it hours later unexpectedly.

I just don't think my chemistry will ever play nicely with rose.

  4. I really kind of love this. The dirt note is very pronounced on me, and the wine adds a bit of sweetness without being sugary. I'd like it to last a little longer and have a bit more throw, but I don't mind re-applying. I'll have to have a bottle sooner or later.

  5. In the imp and wet on my wrist, it's all cinnamon. And I mean cinnamon. Uber cinnamon.

After about five minutes, however, the snake oil starts to slither through, and it becomes a smooth mix of snake oil, cinnamon, and ginger that wafts through the air every time I move my arm. It has a good throw and excellent staying power-Snake Oil and all the snakes I've tried so far are like this on me which makes me happy. I put it on in the morning, and it lasts all day.

    Definitely a future bottle purchase.

  6. I wasn't sure about this one since I tend to like incense, resins, and stronger notes, but it's just so soft and pretty. I didn't get a lot sniffing from the bottle at all. (It rather alarmed me. I thought maybe the bottle was mislabeled. Where was all this wonderful pear I'd heard about?) Wet on my skin, the scent comes out-very soft, fresh pear and vanilla. On me it dries down to a light, sweet musk that lingers for hours-serious staying power on this one. Not a lot of throw, but a delight every time I raise my wrist to my nose. It's not my usual fare, but I'll be keeping it for those days when I want something warm and light.

  7. In the bottle it's all boozy pumpkin. On, the beeswax comes out, smoothing and mellowing the sweetness. Once it's dried down, I get just an occasional whiff of smoky asphalt. I think it may be my favorite of the pumpkin scents I've tried-it's definitely pumpkin, but it's not foody or overly sweet. Love it!

  8. I was really looking foward to this one after discovering how much I enjoyed the tobacco/caramel mix in Tiresias. I thought the pumpkin and tobacco would have to be fabulous as well.

It's sweet and light when I put it on. I'm not really getting the tobacco, but I wait for it to develop.

Ten minutes later it's gone! My skin just devoured it. It was pretty while it lasted, and it might have developed into something really nice if my chemistry could have sustained it.

  9. It's a soft musk on my skin, subtle, with just a touch of the papery scent making itself known every once in a while. I'm not getting any incense at all.

After fifteen minutes or so something in it is causing an itchy rash on my neck-I had to wash it off. Sigh. I like the scent, but I'll probably swap it. I can't imagine what could be causing the reaction.

  10. I didn't expect to like this one this much-caramel is not my favorite note, but this is so interesting. On my wrists the caramel and tobacco are the primary notes, and they smell wonderful together.

Also dabbed a bit in my cleavage, and, oddly, the patchouli and sandalwood have really bloomed there(yes, I keep sticking my head down my shirt to compare against my wrists).

All in all, I find this a fascinating and beautiful scent. I may have to have a bottle.

    Edited to fix typos :P
