    Seraphim

In bottle/imp: The lily smells very strong, but the frankincense is in the background adding a warm not to the blend. Immediately on skin: Lily. And a little touch of musky sweetness, but not much at all. The rose is very faint, but it’s there. After a few minutes: This has turned a bit sweeter... like sugar-dusted sweet. It's very floral and almost powdery. That's probably the lily. Later on: This fades nicely... the lavender is still pretty evident, and it's just gently warmed up by the sandalwood and frankincense.

    Veil

In bottle/imp: creamy, light sandalwood and sharp lavender. Immediately on skin: This blend is starting out very sharp on me. I can detect the sandalwood, but it’s being drowned out by the sharp florals in the blend. After a few minutes: This smells a little like honeysuckle... which is weird since BPAL's honeysuckles seem to turn to powder on me, and there's no honeysuckle in this. It's a nice soft floral with a creamier note underneath. It's very pretty and complex. Later on: This fades to a very pleasant floral laced with sandalwood. It's slightly warm and comforting.

    Water of Notre Dame

In bottle/imp: A light green scent, but sweet. Immediately on skin: It’s very green and aquatic, but not heavy at all. It’s strong, but wafting. When I sniff it, it fills my head with the scent. I smell some violet, but it isn’t overly sweet. It blends nicely with the green notes. I keep on wanting to sniff my wrist where I put it on! After a few minutes: This has softened up, but it's absolutely gorgeous. It's very aquatic with a crisp green note and sweet violets wafting underneath it. It's very calming. Later on: This is still very green, with a very light sweet violet note. I really like this blend and the effect on me definitely makes it bottle-worthy!

    Lucretia

In bottle/imp: I get a very sharp floral, muted slightly by the amber. This isn’t sweet at all in the imp. Immediately on skin: The iris is very evident, as is the vanilla musk (in a powdery sort of way) and the black amber. It’s not a heavy scent… but it is a little cloying. After a few minutes: I can smell what I think is a combination of the vanilla musk, black amber, and iris or violet now, and it makes a very powdery, dry floral scent. It’s turning quite generic on me. Later on: This has turned into a very soft, sweet, musky scent. The vanilla musk is very evident, and everything else seems to blend together to make this blend more complex. I can’t pick out any other notes, but they’re definitely lurking underneath the vanilla musk.

    Twilight

In bottle/imp: Wow, the lavender is strong in this one! And the jasmine follows shortly after. Immediately on skin: Lavender, lavender, lavender. That seems to be showing up at first when I sniff. Then it transitions into an end note of jasmine… After a few minutes: The lavender and jasmine seem well-balanced now. It’s a very clean floral, with the jasmine adding just a touch of softness. I don’t smell the honeysuckle at all though. Later on: I smell the lavender as well as the jasmine, and a very sweet powdery note. It’s nice, but in my case not very unforgettable.

    Undertow

The Dark Side of Water: clean and purifying, yet menacing -- lotus and juniper with a hint of mint. A scent dragged up from the depths to the Stygian shore. In bottle/imp: Immediately I smell the mint, and then the sweetness of the lotus. Immediately on skin: On my skin, this smells the same as in the bottle. The lotus is syrupy and sweet, and the mint is very strong. They blend together to create something that to me smells like a mixture of peppermint candies and cough syrup. I expected this to be somewhat aquatic, but it really isn't, except for in a chilly, cold sort of way. After a few minutes: The lotus has gotten stronger and has taken center stage. The mint is there as well, but it's softer. I can't pick out the pine, but it might be blending in with the mint. Later on: The lotus is very identifiable still, and this blend has some pretty good staying power. The mint and juniper take off the sweet edge that the lotus has, but it's still a rather sweet, but chilly, scent.

    Nemesis

In bottle/imp: This smells very much like pine, with some earthiness under it. Immediately on skin: The first thing to hit me is the pine (cypress, I assume), but there is also a muskiness to it, and a hint of florals. I can slightly smell the tonka as well. After a few minutes: A wood note has come out now… with a slight touch of pine. I can smell the dried rose a tiny bit, and the tonka is still adding a very light, creamy note, but I can hardly smell it. Later on: This blend has softened into a wood and pine scent with a very soft hint of sweet florals. It’s a chilly scent… and a rather deep one. Unfortunately, it's just not for me.

    Victoria

In bottle/imp: slightly creamy roses and lilies. Immediately on skin: I get a very soft, pretty rose scent. It has just a touch of the clean scent of the lily. After a few minutes: The lily hasn't turned into a generic clean scent, like it usually does on me. It's a beautiful scent, and I can sense the vanilla musk, rose, and lily notes, even though they blend together well. Later on: This has lightened up dramatically, but it’s a very pretty scent. It’s definitely floral, but the rose and lily are blended well, as opposed to one overshadowing the other. The vanilla musk adds a creamy note to the blend, and tones it down so it’s not perfume-y. Overall, this is just a perfect scent for Victoria’s character.

    Tushnamatay

In bottle/imp: All I get is just a slight sweetness and some musk. Immediately on skin: I can smell some very light spice… and perhaps sandalwood. There’s a very unassuming sweet scent under it though. After a few minutes: It's very sweet and there's a slight spicy smell... sandalwood maybe, or some kind of spice? This scent is VERY light and I can't really get any particular notes any longer. Later on: It faded fast to a light sweet sandalwood scent. This has no staying power on me whatsoever.

    Aeval

In bottle/imp: A sweet, floral, bright scent. Immediately on skin: I can smell the sweet pea very strongly, but I can sense the musk as well. It’s very sweet and floral. After a few minutes: I can still smell the sweet pea, but there is an herbal quality to the scent now. It's still very pretty and light, but there is depth to it as well. Later on: I really enjoy this scent. It’s a warm, sweet floral (the sweet pea is still very evident), but the sage softens the sweetness a little. I would wear this one again for sure.

    Tanin'iver

In bottle/imp: mildly warm and a bit of spice. It smells a little like cola. Immediately on skin: It has an effervescent but spicy scent… perhaps it’s the lighter notes mixing with the heavier ones. It still smells a bit like cola… a little fruity but a little spicy. After a few minutes: It's very light but spicy now... and very sweet. It's a warm and pleasant scent. Later on: I can smell the dragon’s blood, and a hint of myrrh. This blend is very sweet and has some pretty good staying power on me. It’s a very nice, sweet, musky scent.

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

In bottle/imp: florals with a smoky, ashy undertone. Immediately on skin: This smells just like incense… like ashes and smoke, but sweeter. There’s a powdery note to the florals though that is a little distracting. After a few minutes: This really does smell like incense… like I have a stick burning and took a big whiff. The scent is dry and powdery and makes my nose tickle like smoke would, and it’s slightly floral and sweet. The powdery note is still there but now I recognize it as the ashy-ness of the incense. Later on: Still smells like sweet incense and is very strong, even a few hours later. Overall, if you love the smell of incense, this blend is for you. It’s sweet and smoky and alluring.

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

In bottle/imp: I get tropical fruits, very sweet florals, and a hint of something almost medicine-y. Immediately on skin: This is just slightly spicy, but sweet. I can smell the guava and apple blossom, and the pepper adds a spicy kick to it. After a few minutes: This has lightened up quite a bit. The guava is still shining with a sweet fruity note, and there’s a subtle fruity floral bite from the apple blossom. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. I’m loving it so far. Later on: This scent is very pretty… it’s soft and sweet with lovely light fruit notes and a touch of the apple blossom. It’s sweet, but the pepper seems to ground it a bit. Overall, I really like this and it's definitely bottle-worthy. It's a soft sweet scent where no one note seems to be overpowering another and are complimenting eachother very well!

    March Hare

In bottle/imp: Extremely sweet apricot with a very light touch of spice. Immediately on skin: Apricots and clove… it is simple, but the two match beautifully together. The blend is extremely sweet though and the apricot is taking center stage. I’m hoping my skin will let the clove come through. After a few minutes: This has lightened up, but it’s not overly sweet at all, and the clove is just peeking through the juicy apricot. I’m really liking this! Later on: It’s become very light and sweet with just a touch of clove. I absolutely adore this scent and I’m so happy it became more mild as I wore it, as opposed to going overly sweet like most fruity blends do on me.

    Séance

In bottle/imp: Light, sweet, and floral with a sharp note to it. Immediately on skin: This smells like roses and sweet wood. It’s a very pleasant, warm scent, but still floral enough to be pretty. After a few minutes: This is really gorgeous. It’s light and woody with a lovely soft rose note. Later on: This has really mellowed and become a glorious, light scent. The rose is there, but it is soft, and the wood adds a dry and almost dusty note to it. I love this! Overall, I like this... it's a light dusty rose, and is a very pretty and muted scent. The wood adds depth and interest to it.

    Chrysanthemum Moon

In bottle/imp: Warm, musky, and spicy. I can smell the ginger very clearly. Immediately on skin: It smells slightly floral, with a nice base of spice and musk. The ginger adds a little foodiness to the blend. After a few minutes: Very floral and warm and spiced. It’s not a heavy scent and it’s slightly sweet. The notes blend very nice together and no one scent overshadows another. Later on: This has definite staying power… it’s still very strong after a few hours. It’s become rather deep and sweet, and very beautiful. The mums, ginger, and musk really blend together beautifully. I really like this one! Overall, this is a beautiful fall scent. That’s what I think of when I wear it… it’s so lovely, deep, and complex.

    The Witch Queen

In bottle/imp: It smells very hazy and warm with a sharp biting floral note and a hint of dark sweetness. Immediately on skin: The lily is very strong, but I get a nice incense underneath it and I can smell the plum a very little bit. The musk is definitely there as well, darkening the scent a small bit. After a few minutes: This is very nicely blended, and the notes seem to balance well. It’s gotten sweeter and more floral, but that dark smokiness is still there. It’s very sharp, but I like it. Later on: Finally, a plum that isn’t overly sweet on me! After a while the lily dies down and it settles into beautifully sweet incense. The florals still lurk, but they definitely aren’t in charge any more. Overall, this fades to a beautiful scent to me, but I don’t know if I like the start of it enough for a large bottle.

    Milk Moon 2007

In bottle: Immediately I get hit by sour milk and tropical fruit. Mango maybe, or pineapple? Immediately on skin: This is an unusual sent… and very “tangy.” I can smell the milk, but it’s soured a bit by the grape and other fruit scents. After a few minutes: This scent smells like warm milk mixed with passionfruit or pineapple and grape juice. It’s interesting but unfortunately horrible on me. Later on: I had to wash this off... the combo was just wrong somehow. I can imagine how some people would love this though.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

In bottle: I get a very white floral scent… with just a little hint of spicy carnations. Immediately on skin: This smells very perfume-y. I can smell a sharp floral which might be the iris, but there’s also a sweetness to it. After a few minutes: I can smell a creamy, soft floral, with the spicy carnations peeking through. It’s very dainty and pretty and very appropriate for a doll girl. Later on: It’s become a lot creamier and softer. I really like it… it’s slightly perfume-y and a little sweet, but it’s rather nice and very pretty. This one is big-bottle worthy on me for sure

    Tum

In bottle: This smells extremely sweet… like very ripe grapes and honey. immediately on skin: A musk is starting to come out now… and it’s softening the sickly sweet note. It still smells like very ripe fruits though drenched in sweet honey. After a few minutes: This blend is still very heavy on the grape juice note but it has a slight spiciness after a few minutes. I think I smell clove, but it’s very light. This blend has started out very strong and very sweet on me though. Later on: there seems to be some light musk that is lightening the grape juice note a bit, but this is still extremely sweet. The spice is there as well, lingering slightly underneath the grape. It gives the blend a little more depth, but it’s just very sweet and not that complex to my nose.

    Night-Gaunt

In bottle: This smells like straight up bitter, strong grapefruit and yuzu. immediately on skin: Grapefruit and yuzu with a slight sweetness and airiness about it. After a few minutes: This has turned very light very quick. It’s a slight twinge of yuzu now with light musky florals. Later on: This has turned into a very light, soft creamy citrus and floral scent. It has faded quite a bit within only an hour or so and seems to have no staying power on me at all.

    Frumious Bandersnatch

In bottle: This smells of fruity carnations… the plum really comes out. immediately on skin: This scent is strong in the carnations! The plum is coming out as well and lending a sweet note to the spiciness of the carnations. After a few minutes: Gorgeous! Sweet, spicy carnations. Later on: This has become very very sweet on me… almost sickly so. The plum has really amped up a bit, and there’s a slight spiciness from the carnations. It’s way too sweet for me after wearing for about half an hour or so unfortunately.

    Shadwell

In bottle: sharp cologne-ish note which I think might be bergamot, with a sweet creamy undertone. immediately on skin: The sharp masculine tone fades a little and a sweeter scent comes out. The condensed milk stays pretty strong. It’s very pleasant. After a few minutes: I can really pick out the condensed milk note, softened a bit now though as if it’s been stirred into hot tea. There is a slight mildew-y scent, but it’s surprisingly pleasant, like the scent of a basement (I love that smell!). I’m definitely enjoying this blend. Later on: This scent has mellowed quite a bit. It still smells creamy and sweet, but there’s this tangy, light unisex note which I’m pretty sure is the bergamot underneath. It has a slightly damp scent to it which is nice and comforting. I absolutely love it, but I’ll have to retest to see if it’ll be wearable for me.

    Virgo 2007

Straight out of the bottle and wet on my skin, this smelled like fresh green vegetables. It was not specific to any one scent, but it was just fresh and green without being overly green, like bamboo or grass. After about 5 minutes on my skin though, this scent turned to a very powdery, soft floral. I was pretty disappointed it didn't work on me I couldn't smell any of the fresh green scent any more, and I couldn't even pick out the honeysuckle.
  25. Delirium1009

    Singing Moon

In bottle: This smells very herbal and almost minty. immediately on skin: It starts out as a very crisp and strong scent. It is aquatic and almost minty with some herbs and a chilly sweetness. After a few minutes: A strong sweet note comes out now… and a smokiness. It’s a very purplish-blue scent and almost incense-like. The herbs and chill fall away to the background and keep this blend from turning overly sweet. Later on: This blend smells the same as it did after drying, but just lighter now. Unfortunately this scent lasts only 2-3 hours on me before I have to reapply, but I love it so much that I don’t mind. It’s very mysterious and light and absolutely gorgeous! Edited to add later: I've worn this a few times and it's one of my favorites... but I definitely get an apple or cider note out of it! It's not really sour, but it's crisp and apple-like and very pretty.
