    Polyhymnia

In bottle/imp: Herbs and lemon. Immediately on skin: This smells a lot like Lush’s Narcotick: it’s very herbal with a bit of lemon. But this also has a subtle warm undertone to it which is nice. It’s subtly sweet and almost unisex in feel. After a few minutes: The warmer notes have come out quite a bit now. The myrrh, bark and sandalwood are stronger and blend nicely with the lemon balm. The herbal notes are still there, but they’ve retreated to the background. It’s a warm and slightly woody lemony scent now. For some reason I’m also getting a rubbery type of scent from it. Overall Impressions: This starts out as very herbal, and then transforms into something a bit warmer and creamier. The lemon is strong throughout, but retreats a little after a couple of hours. It’s a warm, bright scent, but I get an unfortunate rubber undertone from it. However, that may just be my chemistry. If you like herbal, lemon-dominated blends, this blend is worth a try.

    Penthus

In bottle/imp: Sweet resinous incense and light, sweet flowers. Immediately on skin: The incense note is strongest in this, but it’s mixed in with very sweet rose and some other flowers (I am not familiar with calamus). There’s a freshness to this, which I feel is the salt tears, but the incense and rose drown it out almost completely. After a few minutes: This is very strong, sweet resinous incense and roses with just a touch of saltiness. It’s an almost overly sweet scent on me, and the incense is a very myrrh-like note. It’s only a little bit smoky and very resinous. Overall Impressions: This is a very nice rose and incense scent. The incense borders on overly sweet on me, but it may be smokier on other people. It’s a very simple but nicely blended scent and seems very wearable, but not perfume-y.

In bottle/imp: Spicy florals and jasmine with a very warm, musky vanilla background. Immediately on skin: This is a very smooth, almost smoky floral blend with a nice amount of creamy warmth. I get the smooth, cool tone of the lily and the smoky jasmine, but they’re blended almost seamlessly together. After a little while: This is starting to remind me a lot of the Oval Portrait, so it might be the stargazer lily that I’m mostly getting from this, along with the vanilla and musk (The OP also has stargazer lily and vanilla musk). This is a sweet, cool floral blend with a warm musky vanilla background. There’s a bit of light smokiness from the jasmine, and the red sandalwood adds a richness to the musk and vanilla. Overall Impressions: I really like this, but like The Oval Portrait I don’t think it’s me. This is a gorgeous scent with a sweet, cool, and warm feel going on. It may sound contradictory, but it really does feel that way. The florals add a very cool tone, and then the musk, sandalwood, and vanilla give this a warm, creamy base. I don’t get much clove in this, but that’s one of those notes that seem to disappear on my skin.

In bottle/imp: A very strong jasmine/moonflower combo with a background of sandalwood and frankincense. Immediately on skin: Mostly what I get from this is the smoky, cool floral combination of jasmine and moonflower. It’s lightly sweet and there’s definitely something else lingering in the background. Mostly I get sandalwood and light frankincense, but I can sense the ylang ylang and lily adding a smooth feel to this blend. After a little while: As time goes on, the jasmine comes out in this blend a little more. It doesn’t overpower it, but it is the strongest note in the blend. The moonflower is still blending into it and the currant has also peeked through and blends with the jasmine. The sandalwood and frankincense make a deep, warm base. This is smooth, cool, slightly sweet and smoky, with a bit of warmth in the background. The cardamom wafts gently, adding spiciness to the blend. But the feel of the cardamom is gentle and barely-there. Overall Impressions: This is a complex scent; there’s a lot going on here. Mostly I get jasmine from this though, and then all the other notes blend into it in their special way. It’s hard to describe really, but I like it. I don’t know if I’d wear this again as jasmine blends just aren’t “me,” but I enjoyed testing it.

    Olokun

In bottle/imp: Soapy salt water and grey amber. Immediately on skin: This is definitely an ocean scent! It’s clean, salty water with a touch of ambergris. It’s very soapy though. After a little while: The soapiness of this dries down and what I’m left with is a very salty, crisp ocean scent with a little grey amber in the background. Overall Impressions: This scent is a unisex, clean and cold ocean scent. It starts out a bit soapy, but that fades a bit and just leaves a clean feel to the blend.

    Ogun

In bottle/imp: Melon and peppers. This made me scrunch up my nose at first sniff. Immediately on skin: Melon and peppers still… with a hint of burnt popcorn. The combination is making my stomach clench a little. I don’t find this pleasant at all. After a few minutes: I had to wash this one off… the combination of the melon, pepper, and other notes smelled rotten to me, and almost had a spoiled milk kind of scent.

    Ochosi

In bottle/imp: Fruity, slightly herbal pine. Immediately on skin: The smell of shea in this acts as almost a smoothing agent… I get very smooth, herbal pine from this with a slight herbal and sweet tone. A hint of chamomile perhaps? It’s a very cool, herbal pine scent. After a little while: This gets a bit drier smelling after a while. It turns into this dry, smooth herbal scent with light woods and pine. This has a touch of sweetness though which gives it a brighter tone. Overall Impressions: This is an odd blend, but it doesn’t smell bad. It’s herbal with pine and wood notes, but the shea really adds a nice smooth, cool feel over the whole blend. This is more unisex for sure, but unfortunately it’s not something I’d wear. It was nice to smell and experience, though.

    Obatala

In bottle/imp: Milk and coconut. Immediately on skin: The same milk note from Milk Moon 07 is in this, and as soon as I put it on it turned my stomach, so I had to wash it off. It smells sour and warm to me, and milk should just not smell like that. I really liked the coconut note, but the milk really overpowered it.

In bottle/imp: Jasmine and myrrh. Immediately on skin: Jasmine… lots and lots of jasmine. It’s quite strong and smoky, but there’s a very small hint of myrrh as well. This is dark with a plastic-y edge. After a little while: As this dried, the smooth, freshness of the rose came out just a little to blend with the overwhelming jasmine and light amount of myrrh. This is still a very smoky, deep blend. The plastic I’m getting is barely there, but it’s coming from the jasmine. Overall Impressions: The jasmine in this is very strong, but the other notes add a nice complexity to it. This is a very well blended scent, and very deep. I’m not a big jasmine fan, so this isn’t for me, but it would be great I’m sure on those people who like jasmine.

    Melpomene

In bottle/imp: Sharp and herbal; the geranium and lavender come out the strongest. Immediately on skin: This is a very cool herbal scent. The geranium and lavender are the most identifiable notes, while the mint sits calmly in the background. I can’t feel any of the other notes listed in this blend. After a few minutes: This has turned into a very nice, cool blend of floral and herbal notes. The geranium isn’t as sharp as it usually goes on me, and the lavender has retreated. The mint still lurks in the background, but now the orange blossom or passion flower (maybe both?) come out. The flowers lightly sweeten the blend. It’s very airy and chilly and has a slight powdery feel. Overall Impressions: This starts out as rather sharp, but the drydown surprised me; it was much smoother than I expected. It’s a lightly sweet and cool herbal scent with a subtle base of flowers. It’s calming, but unfortunately this faded VERY fast on me; after only about an hour, I can barely smell it.

    Megaera

In bottle/imp: Plum, amber, and bergamot all mixed together. Immediately on skin: The first thing I get from this is light violet-like orris, and a background of light plum and amber. It’s softly floral, fruity, and has a nice base of amber. After a little while: As I wear this, the orris comes out more and more and almost overpowers everything else. The plum is the only thing I can really smell lingering in the far background. It’s sweet, powdery violets with just that touch of plum. Overall Impressions: This is mostly just violet on me unfortunately. I really was hoping to get more of the other notes (I love plum and bergamot). The orris dominates this scent with just a little plum in the background. On me this isn’t very balanced since there’s nothing there to temper the sweet violet and plum notes. Ah well. I’m sure it’s gorgeous on others.

    Mania

In bottle/imp: A powdery, dry mix of red musk and light strawberry. Immediately on skin: This is a light, subtly sweet red musk and strawberry scent. It’s smoothly mixed, but has a slight plastic undertone to it. After a little while: This gets a little fruitier as I wear it, and that plastic and powder I got at first has disappeared. This is just fruity, sweet strawberry and red musk now. It’s very uplifting and smooth. Overall Impressions: I was expecting more complexity from this blend. I never got ay grapefruit or white musk. But the combo of red musk and strawberry (leaf) is quite pleasant after the first 15 or so minutes. It’s sweet and musky, with a definite gummy red color to the scent. It’s almost girly but it’s very fun and fruity.

    Loviatar

In bottle/imp: Dry, light leather and a touch of myrrh. Immediately on skin: This smells very light to me. It’s leather, but not thick and overpowering. It’s slightly dry and warm with a very warm feel to it. I don’t really smell any other notes in this, just warm, sexy leather. After a little while: This is still mostly leather, with a dry touch of amber and a little sweetness from the myrrh. It’s rich but dry, and a very sexy scent. Overall Impressions: This is definitely unisex, edging into masculine, but women could really pull this off as well. This is a drier leather scent, but it’s not savory like I get from some of the lab’s mainly leather scents; it’s dry, worn leather with some warmth from the amber and just a hint of sweetness from the myrrh. I don’t get much red musk from this, but it’s still a nice scent. It’s very well blended and may be good for layering.

    Lilith

In bottle/imp: Thick, fruity red wine, sweet myrrh, and an overtone of rose. Immediately on skin: This is very thick and sweet. The main thing I smell is the red wine, and the myrrh and rose are blending into that. There’s almost a rich chocolate note but I think it’s just the black musk swirling into the wine. After a little while: The sweetness calms down in this and as it dries, the rose and musk come out a bit more. This transforms into a musky wine and rose scent with the richness of myrrh blended in. It has a nice complexity, and is very well balanced. Overall Impressions: This scent is very womanly and rich… the wine gives it a wafting sweetness, while the other notes add a nice complexity and depth to the blend. This scent is dark because of the black musk and myrrh, but the rose adds a little lightness to it. Very pretty and feminine.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

Love and Pain, Death Cap and Tombstone are very masculine vanilla scents IMO. Tombstone is the sweetest out of the three (cedar and vanilla), while Love and Pain is a very musky, sexy, unisex lavender vanilla and Death Cap smells like warm, clean vanilla dirt. One of my favorite vanilla scents is Black Opal, but it becomes rather sweet on me. Maybe on someone else's chemistry it'll stay less sweet however.

    MVJBA: Pancake Breakfast

In the bottle this smells foody, cakey, and rich with a definite thick sweetness and the scent of butter added to it. On my skin, this immediately turns into the nutty pastry crust note that can be found in Bloody Mary, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Beaver Moon 05, and lightly in Gingerbread Poppet. It is slightly salty, very crusty, and absolutely horrid on me. Here, it's mixed with a light helping of syrupy berries and salty butter spread over the top. This scent is a little sweet on me, but it smells very heavily of grains and nuts. Unfortunately, this one's a huge disappointment on me

What do bottles and labels look like?

Have you gotten a bottle of Lilith Victoria with this label? If so, there are three labels... the label I have shows a girl in red in a red hat with a slightly flat top, an owl on her shoulder, and playing cards in her hand. ETA: The one I have is the same one that stellans uploaded to the gallery. Ummm... *looks around* maybe I was just too drugged up to notice the difference. I saw red dress, halloween card, and went -- OH HAI LILITH! yay for pain killers and no thinking! or is that boo? Yay for pain killers! I was asking more to see if I needed to place another order to try and get the third label than anything. I already have the cat an owl one. My wallet is glad, though

What do bottles and labels look like?

There's a second Lilith Victoria label too... a similar picture, but it's a girl with a red dress and hat that has an owl on her shoulder.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Last year, all of the LE Yule bottles came with one of two labels: A brown scroll with script on it, and a picture label. It was about half and half from what I remember, and I think Krampus had 2 or 3 different picture labels. So it's not really unique... sorry! But as far as I know, that's the first time they did multiple label designs for the same scents.

    Sugar Skull Atmospheric Spray

To me, this one smells almost exactly like this year's and last year's Sugar Skull perfume. It has a red/purple/pink fruitiness with almost a punch vibe going on. And the sugar... thick, sweet, almost caramelized, but stopping short of burned and overpowering. I also get a slight spiciness from Sugar Skull, like mulling spices. If you love Sugar Skull the perfume and want to bathe in it, this is the room spray for you.

    Gooey Pillowcase Atmospheric Spray

This scent is rich and sweet. It's fall baking smells all rolled into one.... if you have a major sweet tooth, that is. Mostly I get spiced cookie dough, rich, fudgy chocolate (but more white chocolate), and pumpkin. This is much foodier compared to Sticky Pillowcase's candy sweetness. I find the lab's pumpkin note to be really rich and buttery to me, but here it really takes a backseat to the other baking smells. It really does smell like it's a component, more than sitting there on its own among everything.

    Katrina van Tassel

In bottle/imp: Creamy rose perfume. Immediately on skin: Lots of rose, but it’s girly and soft. Add to that a bit of light creaminess in the background and that’s what this smells like. It’s sort of sharp-smelling however… the rose and cream don’t seem to be really blending. After a little while: I know that bpal honey doesn’t like me, and while it’s behaving almost here, it’s still a bit off. This smells like rose perfume drenched with cream and slightly powdery and bitter honey. It’s a little off to my nose, as it still doesn’t all blend together. Overall Impressions: I can imagine this is gorgeous on the right person, but unfortunately that doesn’t me. Bpal honey goes a bit powdery or bitter on me, and it does a little of both of those here, even tempered with the cream. The rose note’s a bit perfumey, but it’s rose after all. If you like girly rose blends and can handle the lab’s honey note, try this one for sure.

    Ichabod Crane

In bottle/imp: Pepper and lily with a mildewy background. Immediately on skin: This smells very off on me. It really does smell dusty and slightly mildewed. Along with that is the pepper and lily, plus a warmth from the beeswax. This smells like peppered mildew and lily. It’s very off to my nose. After a little while: Ick. This is not good on me at all. Mostly now it’s soap and pepper with some beeswax thrown in. Not nice at all. Overall Impressions: This scent had so much potential, but the notes really clashed badly on me. The combo of pepper with lily and beeswax is what did it I think. It was spicy and floral but smelled warm and spoiled at the same time.

    Huesos De Santo

In bottle/imp: Orange liquorice and cake. Immediately on skin: This smells like a mixture of pastry crust, orange, and licorice/anise. It’s a little creamy, but more crusty. After a little while: The pastry crust has definitely turned into a more soft, cake-like note now; most of the scent is dominated by a soft creamy combo of orange, anise, and custard however. It’s more perfume-y now too, as I clearly get a soft floral overtone to the whole blend. It’s sweet, but not overly so at all. It’s very soft and girly smelling. Overall Impressions: This is a very nicely balanced blend. It starts out rather foody, but settles into something more wearable and perfume-like. The orange/cake/anise combo smells absolutely delicious, though I don’t usually enjoy licorice/anise notes so I’ll have to test this one further to see if I’d wear it enough to warrant purchasing a bottle.
