Alastriona

I really didn't expect to like this one from the descriptions of the floral emphasis; hate florals. But rather ordered it for it's properties. Sad to report, nada..nothing...no voodoo magic here for me. Did a test run and no response from my husband or any of the numerous people I encountered during a day out shopping. I should swap, as I dislike it so much I can't even just wear it as a perfume. But again, I am not a floral person so it's not fair to judge it by me in that respect.

It comes on like your friendly neighborhood bakery spice cake. But before you know it, you're a walking, talking gingerbread man!! Love this scent! It's pure comfort with that strong ginger note that holds on for dear life. I just keep seeing a gingerbread man, with his wee, black current eyes bright and dancing, laughing. This one makes you want to check the oven to see if there isn't a tray of the fellows in there somehow.

Wasn't a choice, but now it is! The imp is gone!! Just one of the cleanest scents I have ever encountered. What is is in the bottle is quite different from what it develops into as it matures. It put me off upon first sniff, but it became another creature quickly. The best sandlewood creation I have ever encountered and it lingers in your mind so you keep returning to it. I find it a very comforting scent which seems to lift away tension. Brilliant creation!

In the bottle it was all buttery, bakery promises. On the skin it became something more mystical and in keeping with the fantasy impressions conjured up by Alice Through The Looking Glass. The lingering impression was that of a lively kitchen spice feel, but also an almost patchouli sensibility. It made me feel otherwordly and transported. As for lasting power, I am such an odd creature and I have to renew scents after about an hour and a half. I wouldn't fault the formula as it's my own body chemistry. I just loved this one and find it highly transporting and evocative. Perfectly in keeping with the idea it is portraying. Bravo!

It's lovely and a true chocolate lovers scent. My problem is it had no staying power on me at all. It was so light, which is fine, but faded unbeliveably quickly compared to the other BPAL oils I just ordered. So a disappointment for me.
