Beautiful golden amber skin musk. Occasionally a twist of sweet lemon cream. It's absolutely the inspiration art in a bottle.

@Geminirubyslippers got it right. A slow blink or happiness in a bottle. It's absolutely stunning, blended impeccably. Backup worthy (eventually)

If you are even remotely interested in this scent, just buy it. It's so beautiful and fluffy and juicy and whimsical. It's everything the rest of the reviews say and more. A perfect marshmallow sprinkled with fresh grapefruit zest.

Raspberry Punch with Cake Crumbs
KarenWalker replied to doomsday_disco's topic in The Edward Gorey House
This one really displays the artistry of what The Lab can do. Yes, I get gin especially in the early stages, but I get more than gin- I get the components of the gin, like the botanicals. And they are somehow definitely different than the elderflower. It's just a really fun, light, intoxicating little number. The cake crumbs come out to play later in the dry down (and with them the lightest lemon drizzle on top). A winner.- 5 replies

I get all of the "flavors" in equal measure. Extra delightful layered over pistachio body lotion. Not too cloying or overpowering, soft enough for a summer wear.

Everyone else has said it all- cozy sweet lavender, buttery kettle corny popcorn. What a treat!

The biggest olfactory heartbreak. I'm so glad I didn't blind bottle. Everything about this one was up my alley but it just smells...sour and strange on me. I do believe that some of the Lab's honey notes just hate me, so that could be contributing. I want what Luchessa got!

Idle Moon: Coconut Milk and Rice
KarenWalker replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
The scent I was most excited for from this lunacy. This is not a sweetened coconut milk; this is the coconut milk you put in your curry recipe. The rice reads slightly more jasmine rice than the other specific jasmine rice scent. It’s creamy and buttery and on me, not sunscreen. As a massive coconut lover, I’m happy. I matched this up with my very aged Obatala imp and found this one to be more pure coconut. I’m currently deeply torn on if I’m upgrading to a bottle, because I really enjoy this, but perhaps I can find my true love coconut elsewhere? Is this special enough when I'm not getting as much rice as I'd like? Halp. ~~Update~~ I layered this today with Jasmine Rice & White Musk and it is utterly divine. All of the four prescribed notes become more prominent. -
Idle Moon: Jasmine Rice and White Musk
KarenWalker replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Simply gorgeous. I think this is an easy crowd-pleaser. I concur with roseus, this is extremely huffable. I imagine this will layer well with just about anything that could use the ethereal white musk. Full bottle. ~~Update~~ Layered with Coconut Milk and Rice, this becomes huffable x 3.- 6 replies

Idle Moon: Vanilla Husk and a Bundle of Twigs
KarenWalker replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
The driest vanilla I’ve ever smelled. Like that dryness that kind of catches you in the back of your throat like dust. The twigs are still a bit green; others have mentioned that they are lacquered and I might agree…there’s something shiny? I find this really interesting but only to keep and contemplate.- 7 replies

The twigs are green and the rice is more like 5 days worth. I can’t get white tea at all; it’s a zingy ginger for me. I haven’t ventured into any layering with these but I’m going to try adding Coconut Milk & Rice and see if that amps the rice here.

Brown butter rice krispy treats! Sweet and scrumptious. Possibly bordering on sweet overload if combined with a gourmand perfume.

Sweet! Cheery cherry rose. Exactly as described. The same girl who wears Convivial Vulva also owns this hair gloss.

Bottle: sweet creamy hielotrope and almond Wet: bright sharp tea, cherry, orangey amber, hint of heliotrope Dry: Initial impression notes: cherry cough syrup, red-orange amber, no lotus blossom, tea, and definitely no toasted almond blossom cream Impressions a few weeks later: the heliotrope came back out to play with a lil sweetness from the lotus blossom. The ink (I think?) gets more prominent for the late stages. Keeping the decant for the unique combination

Bottle: Strawberry milk Wet: Strawberry milk with pink bubblegum and a bit of powder Dry: Iris! Soft, sweet, creamy iris and strawberry. In my mind, this scent is the color of purple dangling wisteria. The girl that wears this will tell you her favorite Jane Austen novel is Emma but it's actually Persuasion. Upgrading to a full bottle

Couple Engaged in Intimate Acts as the Man Pours Tea
KarenWalker replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Lupercalia
I got this as the same time as First Tea Ceremony and really couldn't get much out of the bottle smell-wise. I just picked it back up last night and today for a good re-test after a month. Much improved! No yuzu ever, all smokey jasmine tea and a sprinkle of vanilla left over on the saucer from a biscuit. Sadly, very little lasting power on my skin. It occurred to me this might be good to battle head to head with Idle Moon: Jasmine Rice & White Musk, but the longer I wear this today, the more I think the Idle Moon will be the winner for the Jasmine battle. Because I brought a few decants along with me today, I just dabbed some Idle Moon: Coconut Milk & Rice on top of a fresh layer of Couple Engaged and ooohh helllooo. That's lovely. The idle moon rice perks up that jasmine tea right away and the coconut gives a little bump to the vanilla. This is a nice combo. Which of course now means I need to layer both Idle Moons tonight. -
Lots of my favorite notes combined into a lipstick I would love to own and make my signature red. I get everything in different stages. The cherry doesn’t hang around as long as I’d like, but the iris does something special here. The sparkle of pink pepper and vanilla bean wax takes this over the top into something really delightful. My mom happened to be visiting when I had this on one arm and On Marriage on another. She apparently couldn't tell the difference too much, but On Marriage was deemed "very fruity, fruity candy!" and Vixen Red was deemed "red twizzlers...who want to be red vines". At least two of the women from Coyote Ugly would have worn this if they could get rid of their death grip on pale nudes.

I stayed away from getting this decant because I apparently thought champaca was something deeply incense-like. Then I looked it up and had major regrets, because every other one of these notes are loves. This one is so lovely and fun. Wet: so much toasty rice and almond cream. Dry down: oh there’s the fig and champaca waving hello I need to give it a few more days rest to decide if I’m going to upgrade. I really want all of the notes to hang out all day. It ultimately might just need to stay an imp, because I think my bottles of Nightingale and Precious Beauty can cover these scent gaps.

Wet: A bit of smoky vanilla sandalwood with some blackcurrant juice Dry: Just a really nice vanilla sandalwood. A lovely little skin scent. It’s very soft and pretty but not quite unique enough to merit a bottle.

I got a few drops left in a sniffy of this as a freebie from a purchase. I really like ruby chocolate and I’m so pleased this is prominent. I surprised myself in liking this one as much as I did. Complex shades of red that lean both fruity and herbal. I wish the leather wasn’t so prominent in the final dry result, making it not quite love for me (something tells me if it was white leather instead of red I'd like it more?). I think this would smell incredible on a musky man.

I haven’t had my decant for too long, and need a proper wear test, but in the bottle it smells just like the description. I’ll update after a test. On Tom's live sniff today, they said it was something Helen Shivers in I Know What You Did Last Summer would wear and now I can't get SMJ out of my head. I'm not mad about this.

Wet and bottle- I’m not smelling anything First application- green! Chewy rice-y green matcha. Tiny red-plummyish background *note- this is where I stopped off my initial thoughts and put it away. I broke it out again today after a month's rest to see what it feels like now. Dry- Nice grassy jade green matcha and hard red plummy candy. This did benefit from a nice sit and aging, both scents felt very distinctive to me. I appreciate the artistry in this one and enjoy sniffing it, but I can't see myself reaching for this often enough to size up. I have a feeling it will layer nicely with lots of other scents.

I’m truly impressed by how accurate this description is. I get every note. The tapioca comes off as chewy even- how does something smell chewy?? I don’t get condensed milk, I get a high quality barista almond milk. By the end of the day it’s a creamy and delicate sweet pink rose. I'm all for impossibly sweet, but I didn't find this one to be too cloying at all.

I’m le sad. The bottle and wet scent is pink and juicccyyy green. I think- is this the summer scent of my dreams? It is if it just could…last. I get maybe an hour wear time before it just disappears. Come back, please, we were meant to be together!
