    Thanatopsis

Another scent that I was very much looking forward to. In the bottle? Disappointing. Too sharp, with too much pine for me. On skin? Oh. Oh oh oh. I take back anything bad I ever thought about you. Please forgive me, baby. I was young and reckless, and those other scents didn't mean anything to me, I swear. The juniper comes out, and it's so sweet and it makes everything just so. The blend is just absolutely perfect love. It's so comforting and warming, I feel like I'm protected when I'm wearing it. It vies with Bastet for the most comforting oil I own. Baby, don't ever change. Perhaps I could buy this in a gallon sprayer?

    Juke Joint

Another freebie. This scent is very evocative for me. I don't know if it's the name influencing me, but I feel like I could dance until 2 AM in this. If only it would last until then! Perhaps I'll just stick it into my purse. In the bottle, I get mint chip ice cream with a little vodka on top. On skin? Damn. How hot do I smell with this on? The boozy note really comes out, but not so much that it seems like I've already been to the bar. This is a great confidence booster scent. That hot girl at the bar? I can get her number. Twice. And then make out with her boyfriend. It lasts about four hours on, which is kind of short for me, but I don't mind with this scent.

    Dee

This is going to be a short review, because I honestly don't know what any of the notes are supposed to smell like, except leather. Oops? There's something about Dee that reminds me of a cologne my father used to wear, but better. It's overwhelming in the vial, but I just love it on my skin. Every time I smell it, I feel like I'm smelling something different, and I love that sensation. It's warm and inviting and just lovely. In short, this is exactly what all men's cologne should smell like, but it's versatile enough for a woman. Now, if you'll excuse me, I can think of a few people I need to slather with this.

    Poisoned Apple

How stoked was I about this scent? Ever since I sniffed Delirium, I've been wanting something really heavy on the apple, and this did not disappoint. In the bottle, it smells, well, like red apples, but specifically like apple peel. I can only really get the other notes when I hold it away from my nose. The apple mellows out when it hits my skin, and after about thirty minutes or so the other notes really start to come out. After an hour and a half, I can't smell the apple at all, and it becomes a nice feminine whirl of scents. I can't pick anything out after that. It goes a bit powdery on me after about three hours, but I don't mean that in a negative way. So, it's not exactly as appletastic as I was hoping for, but I think I prefer it this way.

    Grand Guignol

... Our Grand Guignol perfume is a shot of sweet apricot brandy; just enough to settle your nerves after a ghoulish, gory brush with the macabre. I got this as a freebie, and I'm so very glad I did, because I wouldn't have picked it for myself. I don't usually gravitate toward light or fruity perfumes, except orange. In the imp, I get loads of apricot and only the tiniest hint of booze. It's like a super perfect apricot, juicy and wet and sweet in the best way. On my skin, the apricot dies down, but not by much, and the brandy comes out more. It doesn't smell nearly as "foody" on as it does wet, which I appreciate. The scent doesn't really change as it sits, which is just fine with me in this instance. It just stays and stays, and I don't get tired of it at all. So delicious!

    Swank

I was looking so forward to this scent. I love pomegranates, and since Persephone had rather too much rose in it for me, I had high hopes for this one. Sadly, it was not to be. In the bottle it smells exactly like an anesthetic my old dentist used. It smells absolutely repellent on my skin, horribly sharp and far, far too sweet. It didn't get any better as it dried or faded, and I felt like I could smell it for days afterwards. I ended up giving it to a friend (who I have gotten addicted, hurrah!), who absolutely adores it. I think perhaps Beth's pomegranate note and I just can't be friends.
