    Jolly Roger

For Jolly Roger all I really get is a very fresh-smelling sea-scent. I didn't get any other notes from it that would've made it much more dirty and "piratey". It smells like the ocean should smell in a perfect world: salty, clean, and slightly sweet. As it is on me, I feel more like an English naval officer than a privateer, but I suppose "Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash" wouldn't make for a very appealing oil name (as well as an alarming combination of scents!). I still think it's a great little scent and is something I'd like to have around for when I want to get all classy and charming. As an additional bonus, it lasts a nice long time, so it's perfect for three hour tours!

    Tombstone

Tombstone remained pretty darn consistent with me through first sniff to hours after application. First whiff I get nothing but vanilla with the leathery/woodsy (or woodsy/leathery) undertone. It's a good scent but I was a little disappointed that I couldn't detect any root beer as I had hoped. I'll just chalk that up to the luck of the oil-mixing gods. After application the vanilla is good and strong while the "This is wood? It reminds me of leather so much" scent hangs around to dirty up the sweetness of the vanilla, which is already less sweeter than your normal vanilla. As time goes on the vanilla burns off a little bit and the "dirtiness" starts to stand out a little bit more. All in all, it's a sweet but tough scent. Perfect for the cowboy that writes poetry when he's not shooting cattle rustlers! Shoot, another scent I have to add to my "Get a Bigger Bottle of" list!

    Villain

This scent is filed under "Stuff my girlfriend received from her orders that she has passed down to me." She informed me that it was one of the more mainstream-smelling scents. When I first smelled it a little bell rang off in my head because I smelled it before but I didn't remember where. After I applied it and wore it for an hour or so I finally remembered what the scent was. It smelled exactly like an old cologne I had as a kid that was from Hot Topic (back when it was a sorta' surfer shop rather than the punkish/gothish it is today). I spent years lamenting the fact I no longer had that stuff around and now that I found the exact same scent I will be ordering a big bottle of it on my next order (which is still about five orders-for-my-girlfriend away in order to retain the proper ratio of 15 to 1). Anyway, the actual scent itself was definitely masculine but retains just enough sweetness to stay out of that whole "manly macho male" zone, I was also happy that it lasted a large chunk of the day as well. It definitely makes me feel like I've been sitting at the beach on a windy day. Meanwhile, at home... What's with the 15 to 1 order ratio crack? - 8> *(|:oc[]~[ ) <-- Computer! 8>:I& O:|)* - It was a charming attempt at humor by exaggerating the amount of oils bought for you as compared to ones bought for me. Hyperbole is an often favored tactic of humorists. Well I don't care for it! - 8>3O <o3|)* - No harm was meant I assure you! Yeah, well you better- - 8> ~*(| - Here, smell Villain on me. You better hug me you tasty-smelling super man! - 88O| (3|)* - Works every time.

    Mata Hari

... Her scent is striking and bold with a delicate yet dark undertone: five roses with soft jasmine, warmed by vanilla, fig, tonka bean and mahogany, spiced with a drop of coffee bean. Got this as a freebie with my order and being intrigued at the smell of coffee on first sniff I quite cheerfully applied it. Unfortunately, once I put it on it leaves Coffeeville and heads straight for Baby Powder City. Not that smelling like baby powder is always bad, it just wasn't what I hoped for.
