    The Antikythera Mechanism

Purchased an imp of this to try out! I had high hopes as the scent notes are ones that I gravitate towards. in the bottle i get the wood and tobacco. Wet on my wrists, the woods fade back and i get mostly tobacco on top and a powdery vanilla under. Within an hour, the scent completly transforms on me! It turns very spicy, im not sure if it’s the tobacco or teak. It smells just like OG Old Spice Cologne from the back of grandpappy’s cabinet. Which, I dont hate but it did catch me off guard!

    The Lights of Men's Lives

Bought an imp of this recently to try out, as i was intrigued by the description. Smoke is one of my favorite scent notes, and i like the idea of the living wax bringing a sweetness. In the bottle it smells soft and sweet and warm. On my wrists, that sweetness became powdery (which many scents do tbh). It wasnt unbearble, and reminded me of love’s baby soft body spray from the 90s in a very nostalgic, comforting way. after 12 hours, the powder scent gave way to a warm honeyed sweetness. No smokey notes for me, not even a “just snuffed out candle” whisper. I still liked it, and my try layering it with other scents

An Autumn Stroll for a Pumpkin Man

I may have been a bit over eager in applying this one today, as I’m new to oil fragrances. In the bottle it smells like dried leaves to me. I applied it with a wand to the inner bends of each elbow, and a bit where my neck and collar bones meet on both sides. An hour with it on, the only note I’m noticing is leaves. As I’m typing this (15 hours later), those cronchy dried leaves are still the main note, but I’m finally getting a bit more depth. Like I’ve been frolicking in piles of dried, fallen maple leaves, sweetened by the warmth of the sun. i was hoping to get cigar/tobacco and rum scents more prominently, but that may be my body chemistry. It’s a fairly neutral scent, so gender ambiguous enough i would give it another whirl.
