This threw me! I was expecting burning burnt burn fire smoke and all things like that. Which is does have, there’s definitely a smoky quality. But it’s cut through with something else. It’s in equal parts spicy, Smokey and myrrh

This smells like a clean aftershave to me, I don’t think my nose is good enough to pick out any subtle details. Aquatic/clean, maybe a bit bathroom cleaner spray in my opinion… but not necessarily in a bad way

This is the most crazy scent I’ve had the pleasure of whiffing from BPAL. I just got a decant and had no idea what it would smell like. If anyone has ever been on the ride big thunder mountain and Disneyland Paris, this scent reminds me of there! A true cowboy scent, gun oil and the genuine scent of dust? 

I just got a decant of this beard oil and I love it. I definitely smell the patchouli, it’s a little earthy. But I almost smell something minty (?!) like a freshness to it

Beeswax honey sweet deliciousness. A light citrus hint? I’m not sure what ozone smells like so I can’t comment on that, but there’s almost an atmospheric bitterness? 

Dead leaves on the first whiff (not sad about that!) touch of nose crunching hairspray. On my skin it just becomes 100% clove. Which is lovely but sad as I had more hopes for depth 

Very akin to penny dreadful but more of a dirt scent. And a bit harsher than penny dreadful too. I love it! Soil goodness but not much throw 

I have the 2017 Gelt. Gave it a whiff straight out of the post and it was glorious! Excited to see how it smells when it settled. The most delicious genuine chocolate scent from the bottle. But when it hits my skin the chocolate tanks and becomes mostly a minty (peppermint?) smell which I still enjoy 

Nice, sweet, cool, I definitely get the Vanilla Come through on the first whiff but after a few minutes it fades into fruitiness. Very gentle, soft scent 

Gently floral, smells like a generic feminine perfume to me, slight wood varnish smell? Or like fresh cut wood 

Grapefruit! But not the bitter waxy smell of grapefruit that I normally dislike. Citrus and lovely. I’m surprised as I’m not usually a fruit/citrus scent lover 

First sniff like all BPAL leaf scents for me it’s just pure leafy goodness. It stays that way for quite a while but then a slight aquatic (?) aftershave type smell comes through. Very pleasant 

On initial spray it’s pure leaf litter, and it’s got such a throw. I can smell it in the air minutes after I’ve applied it. Once it’s settled down the sweetness comes through but it’s very subtle for me and doesn’t overpower the leaf notes

First whiff was smoke, faint green leaves and a little soapy? The more I smell the Smokeyness comes through. I adore the leaf scents so this one is staying :) 

Boozy wine notes were strong with this one, with a light metallic kick in the bottle. Settled nicely and remained boozy on application 

This was a duff for me :( smelt just like huffing vinegar! I was hoping for the forestry Woodsy smell but I couldn’t stomach it 

Pure sugary dough dessert in a bottle. Smelt lovely and dried down great but it was too sweet for me 

Im so sad I didn’t get any smoky notes come through for me. I got the sugary, boozy smells. But on application it just didn’t sit right 

Freshness to the max. Lavender and fruit, smells like the air freshener my nanny uses but in a good way. Definitely a bit aquatic 

Fresh berries but not too foodie. Smells like a feminine perfume. A little bit of cheeky booze pokes through 

Oil is almost clear In the imp with a slight green tint. Foodie, creamy. I don’t get the coffee notes sadly. Slight woodsy undertone beneath the sweetness 

More of a masculine smell, cherries and berries type of fruitiness with a slight musky floral note

Gorgeous amber liquid in the imp. Cherry bakewell loveliness. Strong cherry throw but has that bakery cake warmth to it 

Another wood/forest type scent. Fresh, almost like a pine/cedar bathroom cleaner but pleasant and not too overwhelming. Slight citrus 

Light yellow oil with a slight green tint in the imp. Fresh and woodsy. Definitely pine, a slight sweetness from berries coming through
