    You Are So Emo

I have a bunch of what I refer to as "Lilith Lavender" scents, and they are among my favourite for bedtime - I was hoping this would be a new one to add to that collection, and the scent from the bottle says I won't be disappointed - there is a lot of lavender going on here. On my skin, a clean herbal lavender blooms, with sweetness from the amber and richness from the labdanum. I was hoping for the ambergris to be forward, but I'm not getting it, or the carrot seed. Regardless, this is lovely. A perfect addition to my bedtime collection. Clean without being soapy - it's clean in more of an herbal way, with just the right amount of sweetness.

    La Danse de la Sorciere

Scents with honey and wood notes are among my favourites, and this doesn't disappoint. It has the added complexity of something smoky or maybe incensey would be a better word, and I can't quite pinpoint it, but it's lovely. I really love red sandalwood, but I can't really detect it here, I just get general woody notes, and a sticky floral honey note, along with a whiff of something smoky. I really like it. It feels like late summer, reddish sunsets, a faint whiff of bonfire smoke in the distance. Glad I got this one.

    Scene with Witches

I was lured in by the idea of smoked ambergris and grey silk, but sadly this is straight up "laundry soap" on me. Clean, slightly lemony cotton. Not at all what I had hoped for. It's not bad, in any way, and if you're looking for a clean scent this would be perfect, but for me this was just not what I wanted. Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

    Haunt 2021

I get the dry leaves first, especially in the bottle, but as soon as it warms on my skin, I get a big hit of Snake Oil. I think I may detect some extra sweetness from some "amber" lighting? Maybe? But I can't detect any of the other notes, this is just dead leaves and Snake Oil on me, and I am not mad at it. I never knew I wanted a dead leaves and Snake Oil scent until now. This is great. Somewhat sad that I didn't get around to trying this until after Autumn, as this is for sure an Autumnal scent. I love this. As it dries more I am getting some whiffs of lavender, which is lovely. Oh yes, this is a keeper.

    This More Than Bloody Deed

This is such an interesting scent - having ordered it long ago and forgotten the notes, I thought I was getting Dragon's Blood as I opened it - it someone reminds me of Dragon's Milk (this is not a bad thing). The honey is incredibly sweet in this, and I guess it's the resinous red labdanum that's giving me Dragon's Blood vibes. I don't really get the vanilla. This is almost syrupy sweet, rich and resinous. I haven't worn Dragon's Milk in a couple of months, but it really does remind me of my memory of that scent. It does smell very "red". It's a comfortable scent. Nothing super stunning, but very nice and somehow comforting.

    Innocent Souls Turned Carrion Birds

I tend to love these simple blends that are just a few notes that I love combined, but I'm not actually sure how I feel about this one. I don't know that I've smelled the lab's grey musk note before, I just assumed I would love it like I love all musk. But somehow it's combining with the sweet syrupy labdanum in a way that reminds me of a champagne note. Sweet and almost effervescent. I'm not getting any of the sandalwood at all, sadly. This one is not as much of a win for me as I had hoped. It's kind of just OK on me. Clean, sweet, and a bit like champagne.

    Pyramid of Skulls

Other than some sweetness, I'm not really getting much tobacco, this is all about the sandalwood on me. Rich and sweet sandalwood instead of a dry sandalwood. Simple and really lovely. It's warm and cozy and familiar.

Dead Leaves, Honeycomb, and Vanilla Butter

Dead leaves scents are always a gamble for me - there's one Dead Leaves note that the lab uses that smells really terrible on me - like cheap cologne - but there's another note they use that is absolute perfection on me, so I risk it. Luckily this is the dead leaves note that smells like real crunchy dead leaves on me. The honey is perfumey and slightly floral in this (like a floral honey, not a separate floral note). The vanilla is soft, and I don't actually get any "butter" from it. All in all, another dead leaves success. Smells like fall in a bottle.

    Lights, Camera, Something

I think initially when I got this, I presumed it would be a bedtime scent, as most of what I call the "Lilith Lavenders" are for me. But the addition of the cardamom is so stunning in this, that I'm now not sure. It's gorgeous, I didn't know how the lavender and cardamom would work together, but they're stunning. So glad I got a bottle, even if I did wait over a year to remember to try it!

    My Wise Beauty

It's been such a wild year for me, that as the time (hopefully) for new Liliths approaches, I realized I had not even got round to testing the one I purchased last year! Wet: Instantly stunning. Nose stuffed deep into my elbow, huffing away happily sort of stunning. Granted, amber and sandalwood are two of my fave notes, and I also gravitate towards these sort of simple two or three notes blends, I had somewhat expected that I would adore this, and I was note wrong. I often find that these simple blends still manage to become "more than the sum of their parts" and this is no exception. It's deep and rich and complex, while also being simple and understated. The white sandalwood note in this gives an almost..spicy? Peppery? I don't know, some sort of vibe that I'm really digging. It's lovely. Dry: This smells like late summer - warm amber, dry wood - it gives a warm golden sunshine vibe that makes my heart happy. Love this one.

    Urban Undine

I can't remember why I purchased this - I don't typically like aquatic scents, and I already have one "rainy" Lilith blend, Waiting. I totally forgot I had these from last year, it's been such a crazy year, but at least it's had time to settle, I guess! LOL. Wet: On, this is much nicer so far than sniffing the bottle. The aquatic notes that remind me so much of laundry soap are much less prominent, and the lavender comes forward. It's a strong herbal, but also sweet lavender. Almost minty, oddly. I quite enjoy it. Not getting much of the ambergris, which is a shame. Dry: Granted I have not given this long to dry, however it doesn't seem to be morphing much - a strong herbal lavender with vague hints of subtle aquatic notes. A good bedtime scent for me.
