    Gaueko

I've been hunting for "my" scent for years now, only buying imps and decants. I've gone through three imps of Gaueko and can say its my favorite scent thus far. I won't bother refreshing myself on the notes, just my impression of it at this point. Its all bitter herbs, smoke and incense. Something like lavender, anise and nag champa in fragrant wood smoke. Real God's honest truth incense! I've tried a lot of things that called themselves incensey and they are often smothered by the other notes present for me, especially sweet and floral things, which I don't love. Gaueko also lasts well into day two for me, and has lovely sporadic throw without being overwhelming.

    Mage

Just got an imp of this along with a few other RPG scents. I was expecting something more distinct from the descriptions I've read here. Honestly, from bottle to dry it seemed to stay a generic perfume scent to me. Without a doubt the most basic perfume scent I've gotten from BPAL. Like discount rack at T.J. Maxx. I may just have an indiscriminate nose, but I just got a shifting mix of floral bouquets, a smattering of green herbs and a splash of something kinda aquatic. Where are the resins, musks and spices? I thought I knew what dragon's blood smelled like, but can't find it on my wrist. I expected something a bit more masculine, I think. Unfortunately it didn't last long either. About an hour after application it had almost completely faded from my wrist. While it was there it didn't have much throw either. I'm going to let it sit a few months. Maybe the warmer weather and a lil aging will awaken this bad boy. Edit: Perused more reviews and I suppose the floral smell is the dragon's blood, and galangal the greenish note. I just assumed dragon's blood was going to smell like the musky incense I sometimes burn!

    All Night Long

This frimp immediately repulsed me. I'm not accustomed to oudh scents, but I'd heard mention of them in my forum lurkings and knew I was smelling that. Body odor cheesy, savoriness out of the bottle was intimidating, but I took the plunge and was glad I did! It only took a moment for it to become something kind of magical on me. Mildly sweet, whole spices, and earthy. I didn't get straight up cinnamon like a lot of other people, it was like a vague, raw spice. Maybe a bit balsam poplar bud, aka balm of gilead. The oudh just ends up grounding everything and making it smell more like a part of you, rather than a scent slathered on top. Very nice!

    Block Buster

When I first smelled this frimp, I didn't think I'd like it one bit. I read the description and reviews and wasn't sure why I was smelling generic hyper sweet gum flavor. Either juicy fruit or pink or something in between. I still didn't like it after putting it on, it was still sickly sweet, but now with a bite, the cinnamon I suppose. After it dried a bit, It got better, but was still odd. Now it was powdery, a bit floral, and reminded me of a pleasant old lady's perfume. Brought me right back to visiting my Grandfather's nursing home as a kid. Within 30 minutes, all the aggressive sweet fruitness was gone and it smelled like slightly spicy leather? No idea why my experience was so strange. I might hang onto this to layer with other things, because I like the cinnamon leather, but I'll definitely refrain from being around people before it hits that point. Lol.
