    Psnake Oil

I have no experience with either Snake Oil, or Psionicist, but between the notes as well as the concept, I had to try it. And boy, am I happy I did because this has easily become my favorite BPAL so far. In Bottle: Very strong mint and eucalyptus, but there is a significant and noticeable bit of earthiness and sweetness, presumably the Snake Oil. This is a perfect balancing act, the mint never becomes too astringent and the earthiness never becomes dirty. This is sublime. On Skin: For about 10-15 seconds the patchouli in the Snake Oil really amps and has a tiny bit of funk, but very quickly fades and it gets back into balance. This comes off as a more SO-heavy blend to my nose as the vanilla, patchouli, and musk are definitely the stars of the show. But the mint, eucalyptus, and frankincense are excellent background singers whose presence is definitely known. This is a very round smell! Dry Down: Eventually the mint fades and only a hint of eucalyptus holds on to the Snake Oil. This is a beautiful scent that is both sexy and sweet, with that fantastic earthy edge. I couldn't stop sniffing myself, and neither could my significant other. I've heard Snake Oil is something of an aphrodisiac, and now have evidence that this is true 😅 In the drydown this actually really reminds me of Angel by Mugler, but without the chocolate. Amazing ❤️ Wear Time & Throw: You could smell this on me all day, great throw hours 1-4, moderate throw hours 4-6, light throw hours 6-10, skin scent past that; but my clothes soaked this right up and I could smell it on them through to the next day

    The Hierophant's Robe

What a lovely juicy & jammy fruit fragrance! This is a perfect scent for summer days, I want to just lay on the beach with an adult beverage 😎 In the Bottle: Bright, juicy red/orange mandarin right in the face, and it is delicious 😍 The blackcurrant really supports the sweet citrus of the mandarin and darkens it up a bit. Something quite herbal lingers in the background and the florals are nowhere to be found On Skin: The musk and clove amp up and the mandarin quiets down...but only a bit. The star of the show is still that mandarin, but it is far more complex once this hits the skin. Very warm, very inviting. If I try really hard, I think I can detect the florals hiding in the scent, but they definitely aren't very discernable, so if you're scared of rose, lavender, or lilac, this is probably a safe bet. Dry Down: This is a real morpher! Fruity notes evaporate after a couple hours and the vegetal musk and frankincense reveal themselves as the base of the fragrance. This ends up being a very clean, yet somehow antique scent. To me it evokes images of a very well-kept antique shop. And while the frankincense is definitely adding a resinous element, I would not call this an incense fragrance at all. Wear Time & Throw: About 5 hours before this became a skin scent on me; great throw that fades gracefully with the fragrance

    Lord of the Heavens

What a wonderfully blended perfume! This is a very clean and well-rounded scent. Leans more on the masculine side to my nose, but perfect for anyone that likes bright, woodsy notes. A very easy-to-approach perfume, especially if you're seeking more masculine scents. In Bottle: Very aromatic and heady, immediately clears your sinuses with a fresh, yet sweet scent. Immediately picking up the sage, cedarwood, and the sarsaparilla is hanging out in the background, keeping the scent from going in the pencil shavings or car freshener direction, presumably adding the sweetness along with the nutmeg. On Skin: Once this perfume hits the skin, the frankincense and saffron immediately amp up to add a warm and spicy resinous element which makes this smell a bit more incensey and religious. Still retains the strong, bright woodsy notes at the heart of the scent. Dry Down: Softens significantly into a warm, woodsy cologne smell. The bright notes still linger a bit, but are definitely quite faded. Wear Time & Throw: This lasted about 5 hours before it became a skin scent on me and had a moderate throw

    The Divine Scientist

This is a deceptively simple list of notes for such a complex scent! Very happy I picked this one up! In Bottle: Smooth, sharp, and clean. A very sparkly opening that goes right to the back of the sinuses On Skin: Becomes a very crisp, woody aromatic that is softened ever so much by the elderflower. Somewhat cologne-like (in a good way), it smells expensive. Dry Down: The notes I'm picking up don't change much, but gracefully soften as the scent fades Wear Time & Throw: On me, the smell became a skin scent around 5 hours after applying, and the throw is very minimal. This is one I'm going to dilute with perfumer's alcohol to make into an spray that will hopefully have more throw and staying power. Plus I can spray it all over my hair and clothes this way 😍
