    Bien Loin D'Ici

I like this one but I'm not compelled to buy a full bottle. It dried into a soft, powdery scent that is very comforting and sensual, but something is missing for me. I can't really detect the amber but that could just be my nose. Nice but not a knock out for me.

    Marie

This is a fantastically blended scent; it reveals new complexities each time I smell it. I'm not usually interested in violet in my perfumes and although this isn't a "me" perfume, I will say Marie captivates. There is something sinister about it, and I can't quite pinpoint why. It's floral-soft, of course, but with an edge. Reminds me of The Infant Kiss by Kate Bush. At this point I've decided I'm going to pair each scent with a song, most likely Kate Bush. Smells and sounds have a way of pairing up organically and translating for each other. Ooh, how he frightens me When they whisper privately (poor, stupid girl) Windy-wailey blows me Words of caress on their lips That speak of adult love I want to smack but I hold back I only want to touch But I must stay and find a way To stop this story, gets too much

    Lust

Goodness, I haven't smelled this since... over a decade ago! It is a lovely scent but a bit too sweet for my taste... not sure where that comes from. I see the powderyness that a lot of people mention, and it gives it a soft, sensual feel. It honestly reminds me of the Kate Bush song In the Warm Room. In the warm room Her perfume reaches you Eventually, you'll fall for her Down you'll go To where the mellow wallows... In the warm room You'll fall into her like a pillow Her thighs are soft as marshmallows Say hello To the soft musk of her hollows Anyone else think in Kate Bush lyrics? 😂

    Voodoo Queen

I'm a devotee of Marie Laveau and sort of collect all things New Orleans voodoo... and being a big fan of BPAL, I had to get my hands on Voodoo Queen. Knowing it was rare, I was afraid to get an imp of it in the chance that I would love it and not be able to buy more! And that is exactly what happened. It's strong, spicy, slightly sweet. Feminine and fierce. Vetiver, maybe amber, maybe clove and vanilla? I absolutely love it. Intensely evocative and dark. If anyone can identify the scents in this and the closest matched BPAL perfumes, I would be eternally grateful! What a magnificent scent. My new favorite.
