  1. overall impression  this is pure, unsweetened, matcha to me - it reminds me of experimenting with it while working in a smaller coffee shop..

wet- i catch some of the ivy & bitterness, it’s yellow green like fresh cut grass but on a cloudier day. the bitterness almost borders on fennel for me, but doesn’t get there. i can see the comparisons to fresh cut flower stems. there is a slight sweetness as it dries,  but only enough to temper the bitterness and make the green more neutral. i’d imagine that’s the sandalwood. it almost wants to go to a floral at points,  but it doesn’t get there either.

dry- it’s still green, grassy, and matcha. my mind keeps trying to trick me into smelling lemongrass or a white floral.  this isn’t something i’d usually expect to wear, but it’s not awful. i am going to revisit it in a bit and see what i think :)

  2. i only have a short review, but this smells like red fruit snacks in the best way, and i am thrilled! :)

i want to add to this as i’ve tried more things at this point! the blackberry is lower and the plum is the most forward here. the labs blackberry note usually has a weird hollowness (?) to it, and the plum fills that in and expands the red/purple scent. the currant gives it a tang around the edges. i do not get much oakmoss - i think that it grounds the scent and gives it dimension, but i can’t pick it out. still one of my favorites though!

  3. this was the star for me.

i love yuzu, and this is beautiful, punchy sugared yuzu. the grapefruit enhances it, and the tea and raspberry round it out in the beginning. it is bright and almost fizzy. a really wonderful scent!

as others said, the plum blossom comes out as it wears. i am so happy with this and see it being a favorite for the summer.

  4. i’m very new to bpal but i hope that this is helpful, as this was the scent i was most excited about.

wet it’s plummy (jammy is the word in my head) and a little ginger. as this dries, the plummy smell receded and this unfortunately smells a little bit like a laundry detergent of some sort on me. the incense doesn’t really come out on me at all. it’s floral and could be very nice on someone else.

this has a lot of potential, though. it reads very ‘young’ to me in the bottle. i think with age, the plum will steep and come out more, as will the incense.

I am a very tough cookie to please. Many BPAL blends are far too heady for me but this is lovely. It distinctly reminds me of a blend Lush would use in their bath products. I really think this could be a huge hit for people who are tougher to please. It is spicy and beautiful.

i worked at lush in 2009, and i can smell similarities to rockstar soap and the comforter bubble bar, specifically :)
