Coy Mermaid with a Vulva-Shaped Head

This starts off with pretty stinky white florals. Lots of champa and jasmine. Warm, sultry hothouse flowers and a tad of incense. But, funny enough, the sweet vanilla cream and the vegetal patchouli (two notes that don't normally appeal to me) save it from going too far, and the rose sandalwood and amber add some nuance and depth. It's definitely a bit indolic on me, and not for the faint of heart, but it's not a one-note unbearable indole either.

    The Shell Box

Smells like a really woody incense - light, airy, dusty and almost peppery. There's a faraway lotus somewhere (which I think might actually be where the peppery aspect is coming from) along with some gentle white florals. It has a real sense of place, with the abalone accord and salt reading sort of as beach sand. Gorgeous. Edit: upon reapplication I'm definitely getting more jasmine (from the motia attar) in the first few minutes of the wet stage that later blends back with the other florals. I'm not sure how I missed it, but it's not super strong either.

    Inspecting the Lantern

On me, it starts off primarily a waxy tuberose with some vague cardamom and tea and moss and dark incense behind it, very inter-blended with nothing too recognizable. Unisex in feel. The cardamom, cedar and beeswax get stronger over time, but there's still a floral sweetness there from the tuberose and chamomile. I didn't like it at first as it read as a very heavy plastic, but it just needed a chance to settle on my skin.

    Imayo Irokumi No Ito

You know those green tea mochi ice cream desserts you can get at almost any Japanese restaurant in the US? The first sniff of this immediately makes me think of those. A very specific kind of green tea, bitter and not quite sweet, with a dry rice flour impression that is probably the hemp and sandalwood notes. The tea mellows a bit as it dries to become something like a very grassy sencha, it's the most realistic green tea, along with grass and other greenery. Overall this scent is just soooo green.

    Dragon, Rabbit, and Snake

I find this one hard to describe but it is definitely beautiful! Very floral and serene but with a little bit of dark sensuality, not too sweet, fresh and juicy. Sort of spa-like but not mainstream perfumey. If you're the type to be scared of jasmine going indolic or cat-pee, have no fear! This one is perfectly balanced although definitely very floral. It's a lot of green tea as well but a slightly different note from Imayo Irokumi No Ito.
