    The Fairy Lovers

This is really, really pretty. 😍 The gardenia and moonflower have that creamy narcotic floral quality, and it blends so beautifully with the vanilla and crimson labdanum (which kind of has a red musk ish quality but . . . not musky, not so overpowering). The amber and moss kind of skew it toward a more classic floral perfume on the dry down, but it retains that dewy moonlit floral vibe. The rose is more detectable to me on the dry down too, but this never really strikes me as a rose forward perfume, it's just there supporting the other notes. It reminds me of The Last Unicorn, but is less earthy and more floral. Really happy to have a bottle.

    An Assortment of Spring Pleasures

I enjoy this a lot. It's a really nice lightly honeyed tea scent, though I also smell peony rather than cocoa. I just got an imp of Dormouse and agree that it's similar to that, though this is more "fresh/clean" than herbal.

    Rain Scents

Another new one I really like is A Wet Moon, Putney Road (Rain-slick amber, gaslight, and moss).

    Spring’s Awakening (The Snow Maidens)

The Lab's slushy snow note with a very pretty bunch of dewy white florals. The florals, at least at this point, are not sharp or indolic, but tempered by the snow. It captures the artwork and theme quite well, though I don't think I'd wear this enough to upgrade to a bottle (even though I adore the artwork).

    Labdanum, Red Musk, Scorched Vanilla

This is lovely! 😍 It's a very sweet, smooth red musk with a sweet labdanum (not the sour kind) and a gorgeous vanilla. The scorched vanilla note is a little ethereal, in that it's not very strong (not like butterscotch or caramel or smoke), but does have a lightly scorched scent . . . Kind of like a lightly charred marshmallow but without the mallow. The vanilla weaves in and out of the scent, subtle but bolstering the sweetness of the other notes.

    Ice Age Baton

Another gorgeous vanilla scent; the Lab has been on a roll lately with them! (Not that they haven't been before, it just seems like I've been falling in love with an inordinate amount lately). This one is kind of like the beautiful medium between Zorya P and Muddy Armadillo, both of which I love. Like Zorya P, this has an ethereal vanilla quality, though in a more powdery (chalky) way, with a sweet tobacco dancing underneath. The cacao is soft, deep, and earthy, and makes me think of something delicious baking in the distance without skewing the scent gourmand. The cacao isn't as thick or sludgey as in Muddy Armadillo, and the tobacco plays a lighter hand as well here. Ice Age Baton settles into a pretty, powdery, aura like skin scent after an hour or so, which makes it one I'll probably be able to wear to the office without fear of it being overpowering or overly identifiable as perfume. Edit: I haven't had this change much with rest so far; just wanted to note that I'm not getting the harsh metallic qualities others are . . . I find this soft vanilla with powdery chocolate. I'm not sure if this means there was a batch variation or if my sniffer just enjoys whichever thing isn't working for some. 🤔

Milk, Burnt Honey, And Ambrette Seed

When I first got this, it was all caramelized honey on me, which was nice but similar to other scents I have. However, after some rest the milk and ambrette seed are blossoming and mingling with the honey in gorgeous ways. The milk note is similar to the one in Snake Milk, smooth and non-sour, and the ambrette gives it an almost malted shake quality without being too gourmand. I think the ambrette really adds something special to the mix.

    Almond Blossoms

Wet, this is a marzipan-like, cherry-ish blast of almond, but this quickly recedes as it dries. Then it's a very delicate almond blossom, almost like an almond blossom musk, and a lovely cream note that feels almost toasted due to the almond. At the moment it wears pretty close to the skin, but I catch lovely wafts of it here and there. If you're an almond fan, you can't really go wrong with this one.

    Snake Milk

This has that heady, spicy vanilla Snake Oil thing going on but also a delicious smooth, sugared milk note that doesn't go sour on me at all. The comparison to creme brulee is spot on. I'm in the camp of enjoying Snake Oil but not being obsessed with it, but this is definitely one of my favorite iterations of it. I already put a rare backup bottle in my cart.

Strawberries, Red Musk, and May Rose

This is a candy-sweet strawberry red musk blend with a hint of dewy rose. Kind of like a sugared strawberry incense next to some rose petals. Very pretty!

    Vanilla Bean, Marshmallow, and Benzoin

Poofy vanilla marshmallow. Simple but very appealing. It starts out with a cereal marshmallow type smell, then the benzoin comes out and gives it some depth and that delightful hits-in-the-back-of-your-nose feel from TKO and Place of Seeing (at least to me). It doesn't have a ton of throw or longevity on me so far, but aging might very well help with that. I'm glad to have a bottle!

And Though They Are With You Yet They Belong Not To You

Simple, elegant, and lovely. A fragrant (but not overpowering) sandalwood with a sweet (but nonfoody) vanilla, perfectly balanced. It's a soft scent without a ton of throw, but has good longevity. Fans of Like A Girl, wood-and-vanilla duets, or the NAVA sandalwood-vanilla blends would definitely enjoy this. I think this will layer beautifully and be a great gentle scent for work environments.

    Nightingale

This scent is like if Dana O'Shee and Hay Moon 2020 had a baby, which means it's stunning, cozy, and wonderful. I definitely recommend this for fans of cardamom-vanilla scents.
  14. This smells mouthwateringly delicious, like the fluffiest lemon cake ever made even more decadent with oodles of vanilla cream, a very fine light honey, and sugared petals. The florals are very candied though, so this is definitely more gourmand than floral, and the cake is the star. I wish this lasted longer on my skin, but that's my only criticism. If there's a real life cake version of this perfume, I want to eat it.

    The Secret Meaning Behind Flowers

I am certain this will strengthen with rest and age, but even if it doesn't, this is really lovely. So far, it's an almost magnolia ice cream kind of scent to me, lightly sweet, cool, and creamy. The fruit notes are there sweetening things up but are not overpowering; the apricot note reminds me a bit of that in Haloes, kind of glowing. I'm not detecting the fig or coconut that much yet. Overall, elegant, pretty, and understated.

    Dragon's Milk

I love this one so much and hope it returns someday. It's mostly a golden, creamy, honeyed vanilla on me, but the dragon blood gives it a bit of an incense edge. It's a very gentle dragon's blood, not quite lilac and not quite cherry, but sweet and resinous. It doesn't go medicinal the way db sometimes can. It's a straightforward and pretty scent. I find the vanilla component similar to that the un-aged Snake Oil I got around the same time, though overall they end up being quite different. Edit: just realized I reviewed this twice . . . But I suppose it shows how scents and tastes can change with time!

    saffron

Monk (Sandalwood incense, ti leaf, and honeyed saffron) is one of my favorite saffron perfumes! Even though Drow Yoga Instructor (wild plum, indigo lavender, and a tranquil tendril of sandalwood incense) doesn't have saffron listed as a note, I find it somewhat similar to Monk and others have compared it to Love's Philosophy, so maybe it has a touch of saffron too. I adore Drow Yoga Instructor as well.

On Wednesday, I Will Promise You a Phantom

This is another one to believe the hype on! At first, it's herbal lavender with some well-behaved wisteria backing it up, but the vanilla quickly dominates on me (which is funny, because I didn't expect it to at all, given all the other notes). The florals have an ethereal, floating quality, and the vanilla beneath them makes the whole scent kind of marshmallowy and fluffy. I really liked the ylang-ylang and vanilla trio and I think that combination is part of what I'm in love with here. I'd definitely recommend this to fans of TKO, Sopor, Lullaby etc., and also to fans of wisteria scents.

    Sugar Plum Snow White

I love Snow White and Sugar Plum Fairy (of which I have tried the HG), so of course this is a winner for me! The sugared, almost watermelon candy-type plum is very forward at first, with the chilly florals and vanillic tones emerging more as it wears, like a cool musk beneath the plum. The sugar plum does have similarities to the plum in Bordello, but I also realized the other day that Sugar Plum Snow White, in particular among the sugar plum variants I've tried, reminds me of the plum blossom and vanilla sandalwood combination in Lovers in a Ricefield. I will definitely treasure this one.

Vanilla Husk, Nutmeg, & Hay Absolute

I was really excited about this one and slathered it as soon as I got it in the mail today. It is as amazing as I'd hoped, and I'm obsessed. If you liked Hay Moon, Rendezvous With Her Lover Behind the Rice Straws, and other sweetened hay scents, this is a perfect sister-scent. The vanilla husk is a light, dry vanilla that combines smoothly with the musky hay note to make this gorgeous soft vanilla musk. I don't pick out the nutmeg very clearly at this point, but I think it adds some brightness and sweetness to the scent. The overall combination of notes is golden, soft, and dreamy.

    Lavender Lightning

The ozone is strong on application, and at first I felt kind of meh about the scent, but the dry down is sooooo good. I love putting it on before bed and waking up to this strong, gorgeous lavender thunderstorm smell. It isn't an approximate recreation of rain smell necessarily, but it definitely captures the sense of heavy purple stormclouds and cold drops of rain striking asphalt, like petrichor without being earthy.

    Bridge Trolls

It took this a bit to settle into itself, but it's really gotten good in the past couple months. The pine and spices are at the forefront initially, then the lemony vanilla tea comes out and threads through the rest of the scent. Dark fairy forest tea party vibes. In terms of balance, this actually reminds me of Eve w/Sage a bit due to its sweet-spicy-herbal scent profile, though of course the notes are different. The lavender is there, but isn't the focus when compared to some other Liliths.

    Drow Yoga Instructor

I love this one. 💜 The plum and lavender are both on the sweet side (the lavender actually reminds me a little of a wisteria note), and the sandalwood incense smells soft and golden. Like others, I also pick up something like vanilla, and the saffron from Monk. It's a creamy feeling scent, very soft and smooth. I only got an imp when it was released and have put a good dent in it already; luckily I got a bottle for Christmas!

    Budding Realization

This is a lovely rose scent that has blossomed (har har) the more it has rested. The red rose is the star, encircled by olibanum (frankincense) and dry red sandalwood. The pink pepper and clove add some light spice, and the honey amber sweetens the rose and makes it jammy. The rose + clove combination remind me a little of Sentence First, Verdict afterward, but this is sweeter and lacks SFVA's metallic tinge. This smells like an enchanted rose garden in a fairy tale. I'm glad I was able to snag this one.

    Upslope Fog

On me, this opened with a sort of sweet wildflower smell before drying into oak lightly touched with sage, grass, pine, and stone. I really like the stone note when it emerges more . . . it almost reminds me of an eraser, but I like it? Everything stays really light, with minimal throw. Sadly this doesn't last long on my skin, but I really enjoy the misty mountain forest smell while it does.
