    Cat Churning Butter

Sampling my sister's bottle. This is creamy, soft, and pretty. Definitely in the same family as Vision of the Courtesan (though this doesn't have the dazzling tobacco flower and is instead more down to earth) and Hymn to St Brigid.

    Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v2

I purchased my bottle from Etsy as well. The label is hard to make out; the number might be CDXXX? but it's pretty faded. To me, this smells like O + frankincense and maybe a little mint or absinthe? Definitely a nice strong, almost piney frankincense though, which I like. It smooths down to amber/vanilla/honey after a while on the skin, though it isn't as sweet as regular O. I'm really happy that I got this combination.

    Purslane, Dandelions, and Petrichor

So far, this scent, to me, is green and bitter. I get a hint of a nice petrichor-ish note now and then, but overall this is too bitter for me (maybe the purslane note?). I'm going to let it age a bit and see if it smooths out. I adore Summer Rain and the "Lightning Strikes" rainy scents, and Death Cap for an earthy petrichor, so maybe I just prefer a hint of sweetness with my rain.

    Snowblind

I was able to snag a 2008 bottle off Etsy, even though I told myself "you have so much vanilla mint already!" But ahhh, this is all about the vanilla to me. It's a rich, dark, aged, bakery type vanilla, with maybe a hint of cake or coconut? There is mint, just adding a bit of cold freshness, but it doesn't take over. It smells like it should be edible <insert disclaimers about not tasting perfume here>.

    Cloven

This reminds me of Tombeur, not necessarily because they share a lot of notes, but just in the general feel. They are both musk-heavy, with an underlying sweetness and texture that invites you to nuzzle and huff. This is a heady, sensual musk, with a velvety vetiver undertone. The black amber adds just the right amount of alluring sweetness. The charred sandalwood is complemented by the rosemary; together, they add a pleasant woody backdrop.

    Snowy Evening

Gorgeous, soft, herbal, almost amber-ish lavender. As others have noted, it does fade quickly into a light skin scent. It would be nice if aging gives it a bit more oomph, but I still love it regardless.

    Inkfeather

If you think you'd love this, you probably will. As starbrow noted, this is definitely a morpher, but each stage is lovely. Wet, the scent opens with the licorice root, which is more herbal than gourmand, but that fades into the gorgeous black amber (one of my favorite notes). The black amber is sweet and melds with the patchouli and incense in a way that makes me think of crushed black velvet. The incense takes the stage next; I can't tell if it's a soft frankincense or myrrh or a blend of both, but it's smooth and elegant. On me, the patchouli emerges last (though I'm sure it's actually there the whole time, just blending with the other notes!). It gives the overall scent depth and a pleasant earthiness. I put this one last night, and this morning I still smell hints of amber-sweetened incense and patchouli. The overall scent doesn't have a ton of throw on me (at least at this point), but its staying power is impressive. This is a perfect olfactory equivalent of a corvid feather, all liquid darkness and iridescent sheen.

    Skeleton Hands

I decided to snag a last minute bottle of this, after neglecting to get a decant because I thought it would be too similar to other hazelnutty scents I already have. And . . . dang, I really like this. This is a wonderful blend of contrasting creaminess, woods, sugar, soft incense, and ink. The hazelnut is there but it doesn't overwhelm. I've been really enjoying the Lab's ink notes lately and this is another good one. This one reminds me a little of ballpoint ink, but fruitier (though I don't think there's a fruit note per se, it's just sweetened by the bourbon cream).

    Blue Rose Quartz

This is really nice! All the notes are quite well blended. I get some citrus from the grapefruit and honeysuckle, some earthiness from the sandalwood, coconut milk, and lavender. This is fresh from the mail, but so far I do not find this very floral or rose-y. It's smooth and sheer (more of a skin scent) and seems like it will be wonderful for summer. I'll try to update if/when this changes after some rest, but so far, I'm really pleased with it and don't have anything quite like it in my collection.

    Neglected Calligraphy

This is so weirdly addictive to me! The pine ink note is almost petrichor ish to my nose at first (I LOVE this stage), but as the scent dries down the green tea dominates. I find this scent soothing and meditative and can see myself reaching for it a lot before bed or just when I need a calming scent. Glad I went for a bottle. Edit: I really hope this pine/ink note shows up in more things, I love it so much! I'm going to have to get a backup of this. 💚

White Chocolate, Mysore Sandalwood, and Lemon Peel

Really lovely Mysore sandalwood here! The scent starts off with a lot of sweet white chocolate, on me, but the sandalwood becomes the dominant note as it dries down. The lemon just adds a bit of citrusy brightness to tone down the chocolate. It reminds me a bit of Like a Girl, but sweeter and creamier.

White Chocolate and Fruity Puff-Style Cereal

To me, this is spot on for the two listed notes (though I get that huckleberry candy comparison!). Very sweet and sugary; a bit too much for me to be tempted to bottle, but I think I'll enjoy the decant.

    Fairy Lobster Foam

In the bottle, smells a little cough syrupy, or like cherry cordial, which made me a little scared. On the skin though, the fluffy cherry marshmallow of my dreams. Reminds me a little of the Cherry Cream Pie Chypre scent from a while ago, except this comes in bottle size. Am in love. ❤️🍒

    Byzantine Bean Taffy

This is weird, in a good way (IMO, anyway). Goes on with a blast of salt and vanilla bean, then goes into a chewy taffy situation, then the salty, aquatic edge comes out again as it dries down further. It's a bit like an aquatic version of Honey Taffy Smut (but without the musk or honey), or like a more gourmand Lyonesse. Definitely a Lyonesse cousin of some kind. Overall, I'd call it an aquatic/salty vanilla scent.

    Highest Quality Vagina

This is less gourmand than I expected, more of a perfumey (though not sharply so) scent. Wet, it's amber forward. The almond is almost sweet but is more dry, not the usual cherry almond at all. The incense smells kind of like frankincense to me? Or a Japanese incense maybe? It's a really nice, elegant incense note. I don't find the vanilla or honey to be very pronounced.

    To Lallie

This is definitely in the same family as Katrina Van Tassel and From Whose Eyes As They Glance Flowed Love. It smells like sweet, velvety rose petals floating in vanilla, milk, and honey. I don't detect the benzoin or ambergris much until far into the dry down, which ends up being fairly faint so far. But the low throw on this makes it a great choice for when you want to smell pretty but not in-your-face about it.

    A Medley of Vulvas

Lush, pink, honeyed vanilla. Very lovely. I adore honey scents but have so many that I'm picky about the ones I add to my collection now, but Medley is certainly worth the addition. This makes me think of O meets Vasilissa, but the Bushman's Candle note is unique to my nose. To me, it smells like a dry amber incense, but there is a sweet, heady edge to it.

    Broken Stems

I was hoping for a sort of gritty, industrial rose from this, and that's exactly what it is! There's a very pretty, soft red rose here with a lot of depth from the realistic asphalt and gasoline notes. It dries down as weirdly wearable but doesn't last long on my skin at that stage. Still happy to have a bottle for the atmosphere, which is amazing. It smells like a rainy cyberpunk city.

    Lady Reading Poetry

I enjoy lilac scents but don't necessarily gravitate toward them often, but for some reason I'm really into Lady Reading Poetry. It starts off with a blast of lilac, which I thought meant this scent wouldn't be too different from Lilac Wood or Vase de Lilas. But this goes through some absolutely lovely (to me) phases that those other scents don't, IMO. After the lilac blast, I get the leather and ambergris (and frankincense?) giving that almost gasoline scent theseagrows mentioned; I've been really into this kind of smell lately, so this phase is wonderful to my nose. Then, hours and hours later, this perfume smells like a lace to me, elegant vanilla with a touch of florals and the pretty pink sandalwood. It's a morpher and has great staying power on my skin. I thought a decant would be enough, but had to get a bottle, in the end. 💗

    Kiseru

Absolutely gorgeous! I have a feeling this one will be popular. Foremost to my nose is the heady vanilla husk note from scents like the Vanilla Husk, Hay Absolute, & Nutmeg trio and Cognac-Stained Sheet Ghost. The red sandalwood is smooth and the tobacco smoke is just this light tobacco haze, not acrid or woodsmoke-y at all. Glad I blind bought two bottles. This is fresh out of the mail and could change a bit, but so far this is exactly what I'd hoped for. ❤️

    Strawberry Buttercream Sufganiyot

Jammy strawberry and golden pastry. Very straightforward and has great throw and longevity for a strawberry scent. It's quite sweet and a little goes a long way.

Fern, Red Clover, and Wild Lettuce

I like this more than I expected! It's fresh, light, and green. The clover and fern are sweet and soft, while the lettuce takes on a slightly bitter undertone that turns perfumey as the scent wears. A nice "freshly showered but I've also been frolicking in woodland meadows" sort of scent. 💚

    In Silvery Accents, Whispering Low

This is so lovely. It opens with crisp green fir and mocha like coffee notes, then dries down into a smoked vanilla + cardamom situation. I definitely also find a similarity to Morocco on the dry down. It's that same soft incense/vanilla/spice scent. Christmas in Morocco, perhaps?

    Carved Wooden Soda Shop

This is really addictive to me. I've recently fallen hard for Tombstone, but this one is different enough that I'm glad to have both. The rootbeer is the dominant note at first, and it somehow smells fizzy and candied, with minty and anise-y edges. The vanilla ice cream smells melted to me, very smooth. It's a deep vanilla that makes the overall scent feel "round" or even hollow (if that makes any sense whatsoever). I only detect a hint of cedar, though I think it's offsetting some of the sweetness. This is still a very sweet scent though and heavy on the rootbeer. Compared to Tombstone, it's sweeter, more minty, and less woody.

    Pink & Blue Candy Canes

Smells just like the listed notes IMO! This reminds me of something that would be in a Lilith collection. The cotton candy is sugary and fluffy, the blueberry mint is fruity yet minty, and everything really pops together. Sweet, straightforward, and fun.
