Mine finally arrived! This one spoke to me, as every note is a hit. & it truly is! Dark, & dirty black patchouli, yet clean, astringent-almost Clary sage. Then follows floral narcissus & opium tar, with a little herbal, green touch from the sage & mate. The mate & sage reminds me closely of a mate & sage smudge stick I bought from a vendor at a festival once.
I can smell all the notes clearly in this. Has great length & throw. It is gonna be a favorite to wear for the coming winter. I'm really considering buying a second bottle soon for backup!
**I received my second bottle. Smells the same, of course, but a little sweeter. Now to store it away to age. ❤️

Coming back, my bottle has aged 3 years, just a dribble left. It smells of deep fragrant woody oudh, & fresh, powdery carnations. Yet again, so so simple, but fantastic, nonetheless. I've received many compliments on this one.

Coming back to this, November 9, 2021. Wow this is like the perfect rosey cologne. I get overall pink impressions, as well as clean, polished, & suited up feelings. Posh! Also like withering, pale, & fragile florals being crumbled into a potion. It's pretty much indescribable for me. Some days I avoid this scent, but days like now it fully spirits me away. No words can explain how beautiful this "painting" is. I am very lucky to have obtained this as a free bottle with a large order made earlier this year. I love seeing this bottle is from 2011! This is the oldest BPAL I own. 💖

Received as an imp. It's clean, minty, anise, & hyssop is there. The faintest lemon, & the herbal note must be the wormwood. I want a bottle. Makes me think of a night out for drinks.
-
Received as an imp. Earthy, smells of strong geraniums, & light Spanish moss. I get the yew too, but first note I experience is the graveyard dirt, which flies away fast. It replaced with the geranium. It's so strong, reminds me of when I bought my first bottle of it as an essential oil when I was a teen. I would probably buy this. Falls into the Zombi impression for me.

Received as a swap. Deep, dark brown oil. Smells vinegary, that's for truth. Oh disappointing, it's nasty right out the bottle. So I applied some & let it do its thing. It's turned musk, smoke-covered heavy fur, beastly animalistic for sure. But I don't like it. Comparisons to Coyote, what are you thinking?? This is not like it at all. I'm afraid this will be retired to the BPAL fail box that I don't think anyone will swap for either. What a shame.

Coming back to this, aged 1 year. It is so slippery, resinous, & dark brown with rivulets of resinous oils swirling in it after I stir it up. The deepest musk, with oily resins, black champaca flower singing shyly, & I finally get the plum honey note. There is also a breath-like quality in the opoponax slowly coming out thru it all, something like air or incense smoke.

Received as an imp. Straight up cinnamon, leveled with almond, then faint neroli. I'd probably pass because I'm not a cinnamon fan.
-
Received as an imp. As the notes say, herbs, flowers, mists, & dew. Smells clean, feminine, breezy, like an open field. I would suggest buying a bottle.
-
Received as an imp. Lives up to its name. I imagine a smokey tavern full of demons. Smokey faded woods, it's slightly floral, & faintly somewhat sweet, but overall just a place burning with evil & booze. It's an interesting scent.
-
Received as an imp. It really is commanding, & draws you in. It is warm, slightly sweet, toasty even. Almost gourmand, but not quite. I cannot point out the notes here.

Bought a bottle. Smells like grapes at first, but then the patchouli comes out smokey. It's a mature grape, not like kool-aid. I get the faint Nag Champa, but later it amps up. THen it does a switch, I get grapes with a nice strong smokey patchouli. It smells like a hippie shop. I love it!

In the bottle I barely smell anything. But applied it smells like fresh cut lilies, the black ones I'd assume. It's a unique lily. A fresh cut green grass-like quality, with a wet floral, like freshly cut stems, & stamens weeping with pollen . It's gentle, & low throw. Perhaps aging will make this beauty sing deeper.

Received as an imp. My wife really enjoys this, & I plan to get her a bottle. It smells like warm candles. I want to say there is a touch of vanilla in there. But it's all wax, & it's not bad at all.

I've had this bottle since 2019. After getting an imp in an order I had to buy it. One problem tho. It is so faint I barely smell it. The imp was a blast, but this bottle is too quiet for my enjoyment. Maybe aging longer will make it sing louder. That being said, I do love the scent. It is a spicy incense in a bottle. Soft, gentle smoke of incense floating on the air.

I have an imp of this. It's juicy, warm, leathery, minty, fruity/citrus, & grounded with kush & tea. The orchid & tea starts to blossom & mix with the citrus notes really well. This is a night out perfume. Gotta have a bottle!

I have a couple of imps of this. The first impressions are lotus & sandalwood. It smells like a necco wafer kind of. Cedar, saffron & then spiced bark follows. It's an interesting scent & I would probably buy a bottle.
-
I definitely get the patchouli, & copal first. Afterwards I get heliotrope, & Oakmoss. Smells like cologne. I think I would buy a bottle. It's different from my usual tastes

Received as an imp recently. Smells foodie like baked goods. But as it dries out I start to get florals. Patchouli & vetiver slowly come out.lavemder, yuzu, especially lime at the very end.

Received as an imp today. The vial is dark, deep brown. I can tell this packs a hit before applying. Very manly, & wild. Musky, resinous, & invigorating. Like someone else said, I think I smell cinnamon or clove too. I'd buy a bottle just to enjoy it aging.

I love it. Reminds me of the fuzzy pink flowers growing on trees where I lived as a kid. Smells the same too. Sweet, floral, & simple. It smells like I imagined. Honey bells smelling like a toned down honeysuckle, while the osmanthus has a fuzzy pink warm but sweet play going on. I had to look up what these flowers look like, & I was wrong. I pictured pink puffballs for osmanthus, but no it's clusters of white flowers. Honey bells look like cigars.

I've had this bottle since 2018. I love it. It was my venture into something darker & mysterious. It has those qualities too. It's rich, sweet, airy & a little wine smelling. I wore this to work one day, but stopped for an energy drink. The guy behind me in line kept taking deep breaths & moaning. I dunno if that was me that did that to him, but it was very creepy. Anyways...

I've had my bottle since 2018. It smells like a bright, juicy citrus with a crystal-like crispness. That's best I can explain. It really rounds out to be more fruity as it fades. I would order a 2nd bottle of this.

Very sheer, almost like a shroud, almost not there. The sandalwood is sharp, & reminds me of The Sun Rising. But it's tolerable, & I like the labdanum playing softly. It will have to age to get more throw & depth, I think. I can barely smell it.
*2 weeks later, December 14th: It smells airy, & still just barely there. But most I get is grey musk, or what I imagine to be that. This scent leaves ZERO impressions to others I.M.O. It is so sheer that it's not even there. Sometimes I smell something, but mostly I don't. & that really disappoints me. 😞
