    Blood Amber

I was a bit hesitant about the 'blood' part as I had no equivalent scent in mind that would give me any idea of what to expect. WOO HOO! I love this fragrance!! Amber is my favorite ingredient, so to put this on was to put on a glowing ember. It warmed my skin as if I had brushed up against a dragon's foot and the amber was the golden scent I carried with me when I left its' lair.

    Melpomene

I hate to give a negative review on a BPAL scent, especially when I have been falling in love with so many, but Melpomene does not suit me. This one went VERY sharp and soapy on me, like a very strong body cleanser. I guess its the cypress that I smell the most, but I think this would work best as a masculine scent. I did not like the way it turned to something almost antiseptic on me, like something one would smell in hospitals. As someone who enjoys florals and ambers, this one was caustic to the nose and very disagreeable. I wore it for a couple of hours before washing it off. In reading other reviews I am thinking this is not a good fragrance for a body...perhaps more as a way to give the household a fresher smell. I am so sorry for the negative review!

    fragrance similar to Chloe

Thank you so much! I dont have the talent of being able to single out the various scents, so your doing so is very helpful! No wonder I think its such a perfect perfume for me : its got everything I like! Best regards!

    fragrance similar to Chloe

Apologies if this particular subject has already been discussed, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a BPAL oil that is close to my favorite fragrance, Chloe. So far, "Imp" seems to fit the mark, but I have not tried all yet. thank you!

    Imp

I just got through talking on my Live Journal how I didnt want to smell like peaches...and here I am reveling in 'Imp' and seriously considering ways to get the couch-coinage together for a full bottle of this stuff. It is just the right combination of peach and amber to make me feel like I am wearing early autumn, which is my favorite season. I like sweetness when it has been tempered by an undercurrent of dusk, and the patchouli does just that. I like patchouli, but only in teeny amounts, and love how it gives a boost to other notes. Perfect combination!!

    Absinthe

I loved the way this ended up smelling on me, but I love the smell of lemons anyway, so the citrusy tone was something I enjoyed. I love the way it is balanced by the more herby elements and doesnt turn into something obnoxiously lemon. This softened into a deliciously green scent that I will always enjoy! I have noted already though that I will have to be careful about its application. The night I tested it, the daughter complained of getting a headache from it, so using the Green Fairy has its drawbacks. I have never tried absinthe, but if this smells like it tastes, I may have to find a way to try it!!!
