    Virgo 2007

I was excited to get this because I'm a Virgo - my birthday is at the end of the month. In the bottle: Strong herbal, but it's not unpleasant to me. Wet: Sweetly earthy. The herbs aren't quite as strong, though I can smell the valerian. Or at least what I think is the valerian - I'm unfamiliar with the notes except for honeysuckle. Dry: It's softened down even further to where it's a sweet herbal. I can definitely smell the honeysuckle and Virgo has become a very light, pleasant scent. Conclusion: I'm not sure about staying power because it's softening down so much. But to me it doesn't really matter because this is a scent that gets my attention without giving me a headache. So I am one happy Virgo with this blend. I guess that does describe a Virgo - strong and sharp outwardly, but if you're one of the few lucky that gets to know us well, you'll find that we're quite sweet and pleasant. Sometimes, anyway!

In the bottle: Hmm. Sweet herbs and a dash of salty... something. I can't quite tell, but it smells very lovely. Wet: Very herbal, but in a pleasant way. Unfortunately, I can't pick out individual notes but I do think I'm catching the thistle and wood bitter-vetch. Dry: The herbs have calmed down somewhat and I can smell the rock sea-lavender mingling with what seems to me is wood and smoke. Conclusion: I really like this. It's not at all strong or overwhelming. When I demanded my dad smell, he said he could smell spices and that it was pleasant. There's also something comforting about the scent, which makes me like it even more. Not sure about lasting power since I've only had it on about 20 minutes, but hopefully it lasts!

In the imp: Uh oh. This smells really strong and sharp. Not exactly what I was expecting. I’m not sure if I’m going to like this. Wet: It’s not as sharp as in the imp, and I can make out a woody, herbal scent though I can’t pick out any specific notes. Hm, I think I like the smell, though I’m not sure I like it on me, if that makes any sense. I can smell the sandalwood now, and that’s pleasant but for some reason I get the image that this is more of a masculine scent. I’m not sure if it works on me. Dry down: Maybe not such a masculine scent, because now I’m getting rose and sandalwood. This is a very intriguing scent because it seems to be morphing very quickly, doing away with each impression I had before. Oddly enough, now it smells softly seductive and beckoning. Conclusion: Wow. This scent changed my mind several times, and now I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s fading quickly now, but still strong enough to capture my attention when I pass my wrist near my nose. It’s a good scent, but I’m not sure it works on me. The seduction and sexiness just doesn’t seem me, though I can imagine this scent being amazing on someone else.

    Psyche

In the imp: Strong, overpowering spicy smell – I think I get the frankincense above anything else. Not sure if I like it, though. It’s a little too strong. Wet: Still strong and spicy, but it’s beginning to soften and I can smell the musk and lavender. Dry down: Much softer, I can smell the lavender most of all with a bit of musk. Very dreamy, almost. A little while later, I finally get the rose but it’s very, very faint. I almost get the image of a woman wearing it on her body and having a lover get very close to be able to smell the scent. As others have said, very romantic. Conclusion: Very nice, but I don’t think it’s me. The muskiness is still a little too strong for me, and then when it fades the scent is still too incense-y for my liking. I like floral scents but I think I prefer lighter ones. I’m also not sure about the staying power. It faded quickly on me and I can barely smell anything even when I have my wrist up to my nose. Still, I think Psyche is lovely and am glad I ordered an imp to try.
