Lilies generally do not like me, so this was a risk. Unfortunately, it didn't pay off. In the bottle and wet, this starts of as lush, ripe fruit. As it dries, it becomes a heady, thick white floral from the lilies. Cloying.

    Black Rose

In the bottle, this is sweet, lush rose with just a hint of spice. Wet, it's the same aquatic rose of Peacock Queen and London, but it dries down to a lovely floral rose that isn't overbearing at all, just a soft rose scent, warmed up by the amber and spice. This is more of a rose-scented incense smell than a straight rose to me. Not quite what I was expecting, but very nice. Awhile later, this is all spice over a creamy base, with just a hint of floral. Very similar to Morocco to my nose.

    Snake Oil

Tested from my 4/5 year old bottle. Pretty and creamy vanilla background, but the spicy top notes are still a little too strong for my liking. Layered with a creamier scent, like Lyonesse, this works super well for me!

    O

In the bottle, this is very warm amber, sweetened up by honey and vanilla. Wet, its like sweet cough syrup on me in a kind of pretty way? but also not something I want to smell like. The Lab's honey always tends to go a little powdery on me, which it does here. Powdered sweetness over a red amber. Not working for me

    Passion Butterfly

In the bottle, I get amber (the strong rich kind that's typically too much for me), copal (resins), and a hint of grapefuit/mandarin tartness. On me, the mandarin comes out more, combined with the petitgrain (bitter orange tree), and it's a lovely orange herbal citrus scent tinged by spice, with a faint musk in the background to blend the two scents.

    The Antikythera Mechanism

In the bottle...this smells like a Chinese furniture store my parents used to take me to, so I guess it must be teak. It's spicey and warm and woody and not at all for me. Dry it stays the same..Chinese furniture store and spice shop. No thank you!

    Endymion

In the bottle: fresh, slightly wet, white floral. On me, floral but with a distinct rose note and then something I can't quite place, but it smells a little sour on my skin. I don't get any pear. It might be the lily, which doesn't often work on me. So sad! I wanted to love this, as a Sailor Moon fan.

    Titania

Wet and in the bottle, this is ripeness bottled--not really discernably fruity or floral, just ripe. A deep sniff brings out pear and rose and another fruit. After a few minutes, the sweet pea comes out and it begins to smell like the Bath and Body Works lotion. Going to give it to my sister to try, since she loves the lotion, this is only OK--wish it stayed truer to the bottle scent, which is lovely!

    Twinkle, Twinkle Little Bat

Wet, this is straight ripe melon--lovely, but not something I want to sell like. After a few minutes, it's still primarily melon, but a sweet sugary note has come out as has the mint. Minty melon candy! It's more wearable now. Dry, the melon has faded and mingled with the fruit and champagne so it's just general fruity sweetness balanced against a clean, light floral background. I do like this--it reminds me of Kitsune-Tsuki but a generic fruit vs. the clear plum in Kitsune.

    The Dormouse

In the bottle and wet, this is the same tea note from White Rabbit, but lighter, touched with green from the herbs and carried on a bed of white floral peonies. It's a very green floral with tea, kind of grassy, almost lemony. Dry, the green-ness calms down so it's tea leaves and peony. Fresh, clean and slightly sweet floral. Fully dry, it takes on a softly powdered, kind of creamy background. I like this but I think it's missing a little something maybe--I wish it were a littler warmer, a la Lyonesse...a great gender neutral scent though, I would love it on a guy. This reminds me of a prettier version of what some generic scent companies would call "Fresh Linens" or "Laundry"--that's exactly what I want to use it for too!

    Athens

In the bottle and wet, this is a heady sweet wine, with a hint of honey. Dry, the honey becomes more prominent and this is sweet honey, still mixed with fruit from the wine, and just a hint of incense. A more wearable Anubis for me, but still not something I would reach for.

    Whitechapel

In the bottle, this is all lime and citron, with a hint of white musk to smooth over the different notes. Dry, the lime tones down but is still the prevalent note.

    Brown Jenkin

In the bottle, this is spiced incense and sandalwood. Wet, it's much the same with some kind of underlying sweetness from the coconut. Dry, this becomes primarily sweet, juicy coconut--pretty and I am not a coconut fan--over a musky base. Very pretty and I can see why people like it, but not for me.
  14. Veronica

    Phobos

In the bottle, this is sweet, sugary lemon. Dry, the lemongrass comes out more and it is a slightly herbal/green floral lemon.

    Schrodinger's Cat

Bright, fruity grapefruit, with something in the background that is helping blend all the different citruses. Very pretty and effervescent! Not too fruity or foody, but clean and pretty.

    Sybaris

In the bottle, this is violet over a sweet, vanilla-y (tonka) spiced base. On drydown, the violet has turned into a green floral with more incense-y spice and a note I can't place...After a few minutes, this is a lovely violet, slightly plummy floral with a soft incense touch with a slightly creamy amber-esque note from the tonka.

    Kali

Wet, this is all sweet fruit from the red wine and cassis (blackcurrant, smells plummy to me). Dry, it becomes a sweet plum base with just a hint of floral and spice. Pretty but not outstanding for me.

    Rose Cross

In the bottle, this is pure rose with a slight spice. This is like the wet rose of Peacock Queen, but also softer, younger and slightly greener. Dry, the frankincense comes out stronger and this is much more incense-y. Too spicey for me.
  19. Veronica

    Paramatman

In the bottle, sandalwood spiced with champaca, just a slight orange floral in the background. Dry, the orange blossom comes out, but this is still a primarily spiced scent. Spices with a hint of orange floral.

The Bow & Crown of Conquest

Wow--I can smell all the notes in this blend and they are very well balanced. To my nose, this smells "white", slightly creamy initially, then you get the wood of the cedar, which is fresh and not too heavy, balanced by the green of the sage. The subtle leather note lurks underneath and is very pretty--learning that I like well blended leather (here and in Olisbos). Overall, a lovely scent but too masculine for me.

    Twilight

In the bottle, this is primarily lavender with a hint of jasmine and the soapy/powder of honeysuckle. Wet, it becomes lavender and honeysuckle, which smells herbal to me. No, thank you!

    Azathoth

Looking at the scent list, not sure why I wanted to try this...In the bottle it is amber and spice and vetiver. Wet, it is vetiver!!! AH NO!!
  23. Veronica

    Egle

In the bottle, this is and clean, aquatic floral. Wet, it remains the same--very pretty. The aquatic note fades on drydown, leaving behind bright, sparkling jasmine and hyacinth--perfectly blended so that it isn't too heady, with just a hint of fir. Not sure if this is something I would wear often, but it's very pretty.
  24. Veronica

    Mania

In the bottle, this is red musk and strawberry. Dried, it remains much of the same, musk-y and sweet.
  25. Veronica

    Hunger

This does not like me. In the bottle, it's a warm, spicy scent with something else--almost cocoa or vetiver-y. As it dries, something smells like diaper and white florals on me. What, why?! The throw on this is also strong, moreso than almost any other BPAL I've tried--too bad it smells awful. After a few minutes, it's calmed down and it is spicy baby diaper powder. If I sniff veryyy hard, it is vaguely orange blossom scented. No no no.
