I have a partner, so let the stalking commence!
stalk stalk stalk
(eta, omg y'all, I have already bought my tack for next year
I couldn't resist, I found it on sale, and it's so funny/awful)
-
Whew, despite having to locate my forum password written down in an old notebook and fill out the questionnaire on my freaking PHONE (squints at tiny screen) because my laptop is in the shop, I think I made it! Tack incoming! 😀
-
I get the pepper first as well, and an almost-sandalwood undertone. Very crisp and nice. As a caregiver, I may adopt this one as my own.

-
Okay, BPAL group mind, or at least those fond of Broadway musicals...HAMILTON. Who smells like what?

-
I'm getting nothing masculine on my skin from this! it's a spicy amber with the rich oudh backing it up. Can't smell the bay rum at all. I got a decant just to smell it, I knew for a fact this was the one AG I would not want to wear, and for crying out loud, it's the only one I love! geez Beth. lol.

To my nose, White Light has a cedar note that reminds me most of the 2008 Dragon Moon.

If you post here, does it mean you want to lead a swap? Because I'm exploring a new spiritual path in the new year and I'd love to get involved in making an altoid tin altar or shrine, but I've never run a swap and barely have time to even get on the forum much anymore due to my mother needing much more care. So I feel kind of embarrassed even mentioning this. 0_0

Faustus is my first BPAL love, and it seems to have the same violet note as Purple Phoenix (which is another of my early loves!
) -
I'm thinking Hellhound and Gun Moll both had that note. I'd have to go check though to be sure.

While cleaning out my swap box I ran across some of this, in an old blue bottle. Not sure even where it came from. I never tried it, that I can recall. Maybe because it's described as foody, and foodies don't do it for me.
In bottle--spices and at first a weird something like bubblegum!

Wet on skin--lovely spices, and really not foody on me at all.
Dry--still warm and spicy. I like!

I have it on good authority that there be a Switch Witch Halloween round... stay tuned.....

:joy:

I amp sandalwood like crazy, and if it's not a good sandalwood, that's a bad thing. This--this is some goood sandalwood. There are hints of patch and sage but mostly wood wood wood.

If you like deeper scents, check out Vixen. It's ginger, orange blossom and patchouli. They blend together in a way that creates a rich, sexy fragrance.
Uh, yeah, how did I not think of it? I love Vixen so much.

I agtee with the Shub rec. I lub da shub.

The gingeriest scent I can think of right off is not a BPAL; it's Possets Silver ginger, and it's lovely too.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
Twilight Sparkle: Arcana, maybe Dee
Applejack: the Hesperides or Tombstone
Rarity: Venice or Roses, Pearls, and Diamonds
Pinkie Pie: Eat Me, layered with Chaotic
Fluttershy: The Little Sparrow, maybe a light, innocent floral like Desdemona
Rainbow Dash: Hurricane
I just got interested in MLP & wondered if anybody had come up with BPALs for the characters...I should've known. hehe -
Ooh! Haven't been in here in a while. Love the Firefly scents. If Captain Tightpants smelled like Antikythera Mech, I would eat him up mit a spoooon.
And the Game of Thrones ones are great too. I can totally scent Tyrion rocking Wilde.

Now, how about some Hunger Games ones? What's a real strong rosy one for President Snow? Something woodsy for Gale (hey, maybe Coyote), and slightly foody yet masculine for Peeta. Maybe Mary Read for Katniss? And I swear I'd say Hellcat for Haymitch cuz he has to have something with a boozy note. lol. Cinna...Cinna needs to be awesomesauce incarnate. (can ya tell he's my fave?)
Discuss.

Aquatics and I don't get along as a rule, but I love the plague doctor concept so had to try this.
Wet it's majorly aquatic, but not in a way that clashes with my skin, somehow. There's some green and woody notes that balance it out.
As it dries it gets even better--the woody notes amp up a bit and the whole thing blends nicely.
Think I need a bottle. That way I can regift the decant I was gifted with and pass the enabling on, maybe. hehe

Is there anything in the GC that would come equivalent or close to Ops?
I wish I could get a 5 ml of Ops, but alas, that is not meant to be.
Wondering the same thing. also wondering how I can browbeat the search engine into even letting me look to see if somebody has some they don't like, since it won't search for short words like Ops.

-
I got this as a frimp too. Lovely spicy, creamy, slightly cakey scent.
-
Oh, this is srsly honey. I usually don't like that but this has some other notes that balance it out. Something lightly sharp--the hyssop maybe. Only thing is, I wish it lasted longer on me!
I like it lots though. -
Wet, the champagne note goes WHOA. Which is fine, because I like it & it likes me. But the opium note, as VioletChaos mentioned, is a rich smoky counterplay. I don't pick up any other notes either. On my skin the two blend beautifully. I'll wear this a lot!

Just came today! It is so unique. In the bottle I got woods and spice and...as Dark Alice said, soemthing feathery!
On, it expands on the initial scents, and now I'm getting my beloved sandalwood too. I like this a lot! -
Like lunchboxmonkey, this one was all cake in the bottle. Then I put it on, and somehow, it turned into roses!
It played that note for a few minutes, then went sort of greens and honey. I don't get a specific cuke note; it's very nice though. Like it mucho. -
I just got home from a trip & found this lovely waiting for me! In the bottle, I smell vanilla, leather and amber. Wet, I get a hint of something flowery, but not much. Now it's dry & I get mostly vanilla and leather. Overall, I love it!
(how weird is it that I don't like foody scents as a general rule, but I really like vanilla in a lot of things?)

In re to questions--
Paintbox Yules--Comfort and Joy, and Sozzled, sound particularly nice; would love to try either.
Mystery puzzle game--never tried anything like that! if it's a thing one could play alone, I might be up for checking it out.
Shortbread--yes! all those sound good.
