  1. hello - I think the new 'living flame' LE scent sounds lovely - but I'm not entirely sure what a 'red' scent might smell like....

    cinamon maybe - what else?

so I thought maybe some of you could tell me what else you think smells 'red' and then I could go & read the reviews

    thanks muchly :P

  2. I ordered this unsniffed form the apothecary's cat (super fast delivery) and thankfully I love it :P

everyone's described it so much better than I can - but I would urge you to try it! I think tonka seems to suit me well - I'd like to see more of it.

  3. I really like this a lot & may have to get a bigger bottle for when the weather warms up. It reminded me of lush's sakura bath bomb too, but happily for me I like that. I was worried that the cherry would smell too much of sweeties but it doesn't, thank goodness, the sandalwood seems to pin it down.

I'm enjoying the wanderlust scents a lot.

  4. this is a really lovely blend - I like all the florals and combined with amber, sandalwood, moss, rosewood & myrrh it's a match made in heaven for me :P

it's quite light on me - but then it's february and I'm wearing polo-necked jumpers a lot! I think this would be lovely in spring/summer. I may get a bigger bottle for spring :D

  5. I love this - it's a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful blend :P

it's not too incensey, not too floral, the patchouli's not too much in your face. the darker notes seem to ground the florals - it's complex and smoothly blended. it reminds me a little of lauder's 'youth dew'.

it's a grown-up perfume, but then, I am grown up! I had to order 5mls at once and I'll have to ration out my imp whilst I wait for the bottle to fly over to london.

    I loves it, I do.

3 march - I am still loving this. I've managed to get hold of another imp until I get my 5mls. I persuaded femke to try it, and she loved it too. it's gorgeous.

    do try it!

  6. this is dark, strong, powdery and lovely. a little goes a long way!

I'm really enjoying trying blends with amber as my skin seems to like them a lot. I'm not sure if I want a big bottle of this just yet, I want to try a few more rosy scents first, but I'm not giving the imp away, that's certain.

  7. this is very strongly almonds at first, in a harsh way on me. in fact I thought I smelt of pistachio ice cream and so did my daughter (this wasn't good!)

the almond did mellow after a while and the spices came out very nicely, but on the whole I prefer (old) morocco - which is just lovely on me.

I've given this to a friend and I hope she enjoys it - she likes honey so I'm hopeful.

  8. I really love this one :P

it's quite orangey on me at first but morphs into rose/sandalwood/spicy blend - it must be the patchouli providing the spices I guess, but it's not too much in my face.

I ordered a 5ml size at once, which I hope will arrive soon. rakshasa was a real OMFG THIS IS GORGEOUS blend for me (but don't bother if you don't like rose or sandalwood)

update sept 05 - I was sitting with my boxes of bottles & imps today choosing some to gift away to someone, and I was blown away all over again by how gorgeous this blend is. I haven't worn it for a while but I think I'll be wearing it a lot more into autumn.

  9. I love this :P it's just a beautiful blend.

I was a wee bit wary of the chocolate at first, but after it dries the myrrh and sandalwood becomes more apparent and it's just so lovely on my skin. I've always loved sandalwood (and so does the husband) and now I'm seeking out more blends with myrrh...

I hope my 5mls hurries up!

  10. I like this a lot - the sandalwood grounds the florals beautifully. If I didn't already have a 5ml of (old) venice I'd be running off to buy some more of queen mab - but I'm not sure I need two such florally florals right now. maybe in the summer.

  11. I couldn't really smell the coffee in mata hari, which suprised me and disappointed me slightly. that said, it is still a lovely blend. the tonka is particularly lovely and mata hari is a really warm scent.

I like it a lot, but I like the caterpillar a lot more, so I don't need a big bottle of it at the moment. I will keep the imp and use it up and maybe get a bigger bottle in the future.

I would like to try other blends with tonka in (runs off to do a search) :P

  12. I think this is a bit too peachy (I'm starting to come to the conclusion that fruity scents are not for me) - I was hoping that the other notes would come out a bit more strongly. I would like something where the oakmoss comes out a bit more.

I'm going to try it again when the weather warms up.

  13. this is a very lovely floral, beautiful and light. I tried it out on my arm and the DH and both daughters really liked it. my only hesitation would be that it's so light and other comments have been that it fades fast - I think the answer to that is that I need a bigger bottle rather than an imp :P

it's on my list as a summery scent. lovely.

  14. there's something in this I'm not quite sure about - maybe the tulip or lotus. all the other notes are things I like a lot...... but something is jarring.

I'll keep trying it & see if it grows on me.

  15. this smells very similar to lush's snowcake soap (seasonal product) which I like a lot, but I was suprised to find that I wasn't so keen on it as a perfume. I probably would have used the imp up anyway, but DH thought it smelt 'nasty' on me, so it had to go.

I've given it to a friend (who also likes snowcake soap) and I hope it suits her more :P

  16. I was so hopeful of this (sounds so lovely) but it's just awful on me. I didn't care for it much in the bottle, I tried in on my arm - yuk. I waited a while for it to change, but no, it actually made me feel sick. before I washed it off I gave my arm to daughter#1 to sniff, and she thought it smelled of sick......

I went to lunch with my friend the next day & gave it to her along with 7 other imps - it smelled lovely on her.

I'm wondering if orchid doesn't like me? Oberon went soapy on me, although I do quite like queen mab. I guess as I try more scents I'll find out :P

  17. I do really like this scent, but I'm not sure that I want to smell like this - it's a bit strong for me.

I'm going to try it as a room scent though - I think it would be good for this.

for anyone that likes lush - I think it smells JUST like their cosmic dreamcatcher massage bar.

  18. I received this imp as a freebie, I'm not sure I would have choosen it myself as the 'dirt' description put me off... but it's really really lovely, I'm so glad I was given it! :P

I do love the oakmoss in lush's 'tramp' showergel, so I showered with that first, then used dust-to-dust dusting powder (rose) and queen of hearts soap (rose) on my face, then tried the zombi.

oh my goodness, the dirt scent was strong at first - but scented beautifully of oakmoss and complimenting the tramp wonderfully. later the rosy-dried-posy scent has come to the fore - wonderful.

I love it - and I thought I had my next order almost sorted in my mind......

  19. apologies if this has been asked to the nth degree...

I had my first ever order t'other day & already I'm realing that I can't live without some of these scents....

how long do 5ml bottles last for you? I'm having trouble picturing how big they are (well, 5mls obviously.) & how quickly I'd use them. I don't like wearing the same scent everyday, if that helps.

    thankyou :P
