  1. I want to make a love song to this one is i could sing... :P

Patchouli is a note that works great on me and so is abricot/peach. I like Katharine and March Hare also very much but Depraved won! Katherine is the very innocent sister of Depraved. This is dark and dirty and a "don't fool me' scent

The Abricot and patchouli are perfectly balanced and the lasting power is brilliant.

    On the 5 ml list

  2. Oke, on the list with"notes i don't like" I just added Gardenia. I had no clue how gardenia smells like but is that is what's prominent in SWOB i really dislike it.

To me it smells like a chemical sort of jasmine. Very sticky and heavy. I doesn't mellow or morph at all.

But will give it another try in 10 days or so as it's currently "that time of the month' :P

    ADDED March 4:

Not reviewed this yet? hmmmm, oh well here goes:

Jasmine jasmine jasmine...strong jasmine, overpowering jasmine, never fading Jasmine.

It reminds me a bit of Follow me Boy without the bubble gum.

I like it but only when i want to get noticed or on PMS week cause the jasmine is quite conforting and jasmine seems to be growing on me

  3. There is not much discussion about the initial stage, Cherry lollipops and bubble gum :D Very approprate today as I am wearing a pink sweater.

    But then *drums*... the drydown..

Hard to place, almost buttery sweet, cooky spice. Sweet but not too sweet.

Lovely and a very unique perfume. For me occasional wear (on days I feel pink and girly) Oh and how i wished to have this when i was sixteen. :D :P

  4. BPAL is so good to learn what notes one like and what notes one hate.

Champagne is a note that is not for me. Shattered went sour and so did Bon Vivant. It's my chemistry because from the Imp its a lovely, sweet strawberry.

    Pity, loved the name...

  5. Unseelie was "love at first sniff"

Instantly it reminds me of some Lush bath ballistics (fairy jasmine) and Alkmaar soap and Silky underwear dusting powder.

Yes, it's powdery scent but thats someting I dearly love! There is also Lilac somewhere underneath and a tiny hint of Jasmine perhaps. It's warm and sexy as hell. Stays very true on my skin, same as in the bottle.

I am greatful I could swap for a 10ml because this is my new #1

Of and btw, for those who are crying over discontinued Bruja, try this, you might love it.

  6. Got it as a freebie form the lab, very nice as this would not be a scent i picked out on my own.

Sniffing it in the bottle, fruity, like some melon, but reading the notes it must be the pear. Its very familiar and i know why, it reminds me a lot of Blue Moon!! It sure is more innocent and approchable than Blue moon.

Verdict: Pretty scent, but to fresh and light for me, but will keep the Imp for summerdays.

  7. sweet bubble gum at first, after a while(30 min) I find a spicy scent, someone mentioned cloves and i agree. And my skin agrees with cloves so that's a good thing:-)

It's not very wafty and lasting so I layered it with dragon's Blood, scentwise a perfect combo though it worries me a bit it i am not influencing the scents magical powers.

But I feel happy and cheerful today so the magic is working :P

ETA, made a roomspray with ACJM this weekend and sprayed all the house with it. also i added little drops on the couchpillows. We had a wonderful cheerfull weekend with loads of laughter, in fact it had been log since i laughed so much. I think this scent is wonderful in the house, much more than on the skin.

    19/01/05

wearing it againg today and my co-worker remarked" it smells like ginseng in here" I blamed the herb tea :D because i didn't knew if he ment it smelled nice or it smelled bad.... :D

  8. Hellfire...a very high class scent.

I wore it for the first time last week in Barcelona, when we went out to a club at the olympic port and to the casino. It fitted the Casino soo well, it was smokey inside, all those gamblers around and me sipping a Bacardi, while sitting on a velvet sofa. That's Hellfire. It was where the location and the scent came together.

It's hard to descripe what it smell like, sweet, tobacco, patchouli perhaps.

Note:i dislike places where its smokey and often it makes any perfume go vile mixed with the smoke on your clothes:rasp: but Hellfire get's better in that environment, it's my number one cafe/club/casino scent.

  9. I was suprised with the beauty of the labels on Sugar skull and Shamhain. I really had neevr given any attention to the labels before but yesterday i took all my bottles to find a lot of little suprises

Stop reading if you hadn't seen it and want to discover yourself

    SPOILER Warning

    ____________________________________

The autunm scents have a brown edge around the label

Sugar Skull has great horrific fonts and a tiny Skull pinted

    Shamhain has nice bold fonts

The dream blends have a blue edge around the labels

If there is more, please tell me...

I felt so happy seeing this, an unexpected gift

  10. :D :D :P

Hard to review this one, the emoticons express the feeling better, it warm melting brown sugar, it's not overpowering but pleasant strong and lasting. gonna be my new cuddle up scent to comfort me when all is cold and gray. The darkness underneath comes to me after an hour, somehow it's familiar, could it be coffee? pepper? It goes back and forth, morphing from sweet to dark and back again.

I see myself wearing this on "sinterklaasevening" (Dutch Santa Claus, 5 december)

Great scent and great job Beth!

  11. Hmmmm nice, the scent of sleep itself! A very hazy blue scent, relaxing and comforting.

It's a bit strong on application but it mellows soon on the skin. I think I noticed jasmin under the lavender but to be honest.....I fell asleep before it could develope completely.

It works perfectly but i need to wear it again to be able to review on the scent :P

So weird, all other BPAL scents last till the following morning... this one left no trace, not even on my pyjamas...

  12. yesterday I bought Gingerman showergel and Eggnog 1in3 shampoo conditioner showergel and also Melting Marshmallow bodybutter from Philosophy.

Anyway, to be honest, I mostly bought them because they have the same name as the two BPAL scent i have on order :P

I an very curious if anyone has tried:

    a. Philisopher stuff, can you tell me good combo's with BPAL?

    B. Gingerbreadpoppet and Philoshoppers Gingerman, who used them both, are they similar/complementair.

    Thanks for your advice

  13. Lovely Clover threw this into a swap, and i am very happy she did because i have an 5ml unsniffed on order and with no regrets! :P It's a sweet cherrylike, and like others have mentioned, a red scent. Somehow it reminds me of some cherry liquor. It's not overpowering but the scent last all day

So far for the scent, because i mostly chose the Voodoo blends by what they do in life then for there scent.

In my mailbox where the swap parcel was, was only post with financial good news! i can really do with some good news and some money right now. This scent gives a feeling of trust, like: " don't worry, there is plenty and when you need it you get it, just ask"

ETA: a weeks ago we went for a weekend away to a place where there is a casino so i gave HOP a try. We di so well at the casino, that we decided to stay a night longer because with the winnings we were able to pay for that extra night, including diner! It was fun, and no, I did not become betting addict :D It was a luck we never had for years in the roulette game, HOP played with us :D

  14. It's difficult to review this because it's so complex and there are little thing to compare it with.

So, let me say it wonderfull, complex, like a crisp fall day, the only note i can pick are sort of dark berries., to my nose ther could also be a hint of thyme(could it be the sage?) I don't get apples, and i have no idea what Ivy is,or how it is supposed to smell.

The color it evokes is dark purple.

It doesn't waft a lot, lays almost flat in my arm and i only notice it if i put my nose to it.

It is really a new love and I will wear this a lot.

  15. I am still doubting... i will be in Barcelona on Halloween so Dia de los Muertos would be very appropriate but... i don't have that :D

Jack is lovely but Barcelona is still hot (27 degree celcious) so maybe that woul be a bad idea, besides i don't feel like dragging my preciois Jack around in my bag because that will harm the quality.

decisions, decisions... you know what, i let you give me some recommandations, I will re-post this one under the right topic :P

  16. I don't know if it's a reaction to BPAL or not, but i have male colleque who always want's me to come sit next to him and explaining stuff.

Often I find he already knows what he is asking but it seems he likes me sitting close, and I noticed it often happends when i wear a sweet scent like Gluttony or Queen of Sheba.

One day I wore Bordello and he said: "some scent in here reminds me of America"

    Sure it was me :P

ETA:somehow i got feelings for this colleque :D (omg, and i have a happy relationship already) but now i know what to wear to attrack him :D (don't worry just a ltlle crush, will pass soon)

  17. This is my second lunacy blend and it has the same complexity as Blue Moon.

A scent that changes everytime i sniff it and has so many layer that it will take many wearing before knowing it completely. That said, consider this as a pre-review because for sure I will have to edit in a couple of days.

out of the bottle it smell a bit like aspirine like in blood rose. On the skin it's herbal, should i give it a color, it would be dark green. Again, like Blue moon, it has a magical feeling, like a girl in a dark castle opens a bottle with a green bubbling potion....

Only a tiny drop on my wrist and the scent is around me all evening.

It's a precious scent and i am proud to own it

  18. Because it is going to be discontinued I decided to wear it today to be able to review it.

Initially in the bottle the vetiver puts me of but once on the skin it disappears and the Patchouli jumps out. To me it's a lot like Haunted and also a bit like the Guerlain Shalimar. Its a Spicy eastern scent, not very masculin.

I like it because it reminds me of the middle east and somehow of Hammams. Also like pollished floors and antique shops.

Not something I would order on the decription because the Vetiver would scare me away.
