    Detox (fizzyBOOM)

This one didn't agree with me as much as others, but it does the job. It's relaxing and it seems to help me get through the post-massage detox thing where I sometimes get headaches. It's not my favorite scentwise, but it does its thang.

    Bitch (fizzyBOOM)

This bomb is grood stuff, people. I felt so much better after the bath - my achey muscles had been eased, my mood had been lifted, my insane hormonal cravings temporarily quieted - aah. The only thing I regret about this bath is that I ran the water too hot and too full, so I had to get out of the bath too soon.

Miskatonic University Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

This was not my favorite of the BPAL soaps I've tried so far. For some reason, the soap smelled more like dusty wood to me than the irish coffee than the oil smells like. I know it's normal for an oil to smell differently in different situations, but I just don't like the scent as much in soap form. However, I still enjoyed using it. It's a creamy, luxuriant texture and feels really good on the skin. Plus, cutest wrapper ever.

Carnal Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

The Carnal soap is my favorite of the BPAL soaps I've tried. It's just such a great skin scent, and something about it is incredibly sexy and also comforting when used in a soap. It is subtle, but delicious. If you've ever even mildly liked fig, do try this soap. It's such a nice one!

    Fire Pig

This smelled pretty, if perfumey, in the bottle...but once applied, it almost immediately goes soapy and generic on my skin. I don't know what it was, but something in it just did not like my skin chemistry. It's definitely worth a shot if you like light, floral perfumes, though!

    Mama-Ji

Wow! Interestingly, I'd forgotten I ordered this one. I'm so glad I did! Mama-ji is a floral, but oh what a floral! It's deeply sensual, very sophisticated, and smells to me like a sort of classic perfume. It's a sweet floral with spices and something deep-dark-and-sexy about it, and it radiates when worn. Apply lightly!

    Mr. Nancy

This is beautiful when I first put it on and the lime top note comes out - it's like a grace note on the fragrance, and boy, does it ever sing! Sadly, when the lime dies down, the tobacco and rum just go completely bonkers-strong on my skin. I barely tested it - the application was very light - and yet I smelled *very very strong*. I want to like this - it's a spicey, baked, sweet scent that seems really appealing - but it just doesn't wear well on me. I'm going to try it on my husband and see if it smells as good on him as it did on me for the first few minutes.

    Ochosi

Oh, I really like this! It's just a really *pleasant* scent, very sprucey and sweetened by the shea (which sometimes smells like cocoa to me, just a touch, in this scent). This could be awesome on a guy, but it isn't exclusively masculine. I wore it to the gym and it was very energizing and pleasant even when I was all sweaty.

    Danube

This scent is very blue! I don't get that a lot, but blue it is. It's an aquatic that stays watery on my skin - usually aquatics go completely sharp and nasty, but this one stays cool and wet and blue. The florals are deeper and more...*real* than many florals I've encountered - they remind me of flowers in springtime, when you sniff them really deeply. I like this a lot.

    Inferno

Whoa holy almond and cinnamon! It's interesting how well these two scents blend, creating one spicysweet scent. As it dries, the almond calms itself a bit, and the cinnamon gets spicier. I can detect the neroli, but only lightly, and that's good - I suspect if it really comes out, the whole thing will turn too sharp. As it is, I like it quite a bit - more than I expected to, actually.

    Mania

This is awesome! It starts out kind of sharp and the grapefruit and musk are kind of smashing into each other, just like the description says. It smells good, just...chaotic and sharp. As it dries, the red musk mellows and blends with the strawberry leaf to make a sweet, comforting scent that is just absolutely beautiful on my skin. The sharpness fades, and all that is left is delicious, sweet contentedness. Very mad indeed.

    Dark Delicacies

This one is hard for me to describe. Is it perfumey? Yes, sort of - but it's so much deeper and more complex than "perfumey" implies. It's surprisingly light and wears very close to my skin once it dries down, but it's still darkly sexy. The florals are present, but never sharp or overwhelming. The patchouli works nicely, even though patchouli isn't usually my bag. The fruitiness isn't overly perky - it's lucious and sexy instead. It dries down sort of woody on me, which is interesting, but very nice. Overall, this is a very sophisticated, darkly sexy perfume.

    Ugh (fizzyBOOM)

Oh man, I thought I reviewed this puppy already, but I guess not! UGH might be my favorite of the 4 fizzyBOOMs I tried. I love it. It really does the trick, makes the water feel soft and luxurious, and smells really great, particularly in the bomb form (once dissolved, I don't smell it as much, it's just a nice light scent). It's a cleansing fragrance, sort of invigorating yet relaxing. I'm having the best baths of my life with these bombs, and I definitely need more of this one.

    Saw-Scaled Viper

I am totally, head-over-heels in love with Saw Scaled Viper. It's 100% pure awesome. It's all spice and sex, warm and strong, comfortable but definitely smoldering. It wore beautifully on me, much better than plain Snake Oil did. The spices are definitely quite present, but the spiced vanilla underneath grounds the scent and amps up the sex factor quite a bit. I'm just totally in love. If you like spice, or warm, sexy blends, DO NOT PASS GO, buy yourself a bottle of this one.

    Vasakasajja

On me, this is a very light, very pretty scent. It's pretty in a adult kind of way - pretty, not cutesy. It's definitely passionate and sexy, but in a really light, happy, *pretty* way. I wore it to work and found it to be just right. I'm not usually a florals kinda girl, but I really enjoyed this scent. It fades quickly and wears very lightly, but might be perfect in my scent locket. Very nice.

    Jólasveinar

Wet, this is a woody, spicy pine. As it warms on my skin, it blooms into a beautiful scent that makes me think of Hansel and Gretel - the forest, with a warm, sweet, spicey hit of baking. It blends into this amazing crescendo on my skin - it's truly delicious. And then the baking bit fades, leaving a scent that's mostly woodsy. I really love the dramatic stage of this, where everything comes out to play. I like it on the drydown, but I wish it stayed the way it does when it's warmed up but still wet. I may want a bottle of this anyway, though...we'll see.

    The Organ Grinder (2006)

Wet, this is very piney, with sweet undertones. I sort of imagine I smell the almond milk, but I'm not entirely sure. As it dries, there's a nuttiness that emerges. It's not almond-y per se, it's nutty and sweet, sorta creamy. Almond milk! Pine and almond milk are really the main players on my skin. There's a warm, creamy quality to this scent that ties it together. My thoughts about this scent aren't fully formed - it's unusual enough that it's going to require another wear to really process, I think. But it's definitely fascinatingly different, and I like that about it.

    Herr Drosselmeyer

Wow, this is really sweet on my skin. In the imp, it had a more masculine, woodsy smell, but on my skin the tobacco really blooms and sweetens. It's got a little bite in the background - some of the woods going a bit sharp on me, possibly? I can imagine this being very sexy on the right person, but I think it's just a little too heavily sweet on my skin. Still, this is a nice, warm, not-overtly-masculine blend that evokes all the goodness of Nutcracker magic, to me.

    Fresh, wet, and/or green florals

The Isles of Demons. Totally wet and green and whoa. Envy also a humid, greener-than-green scent.

    Thirteen (13): October 2006

This is a complex and unusual blend. It starts out less complex and gathers into a frenzy as it dries (which isn't usually how it goes on me, but hey!) I really like the rooibos, and I can definitely tell it's there...and it blends nicely with the fruitier aspects of this scent. I really like the unusual components of this blend - rooibos, starfruit, nutmeg...mmm. I am intrigued, though I'm not in love with this blend. Unfortunately, as 13 dries down, it becomes quite sharp. It's a skin chemistry issue, not the oil's fault! But it's probably a deal-breaker for me.

    Lick It Again

I am totally in love with this scent. I didn't really expect it, but it was love at first sniff! Last year's Lick It didn't quite do it for me, but the addition of the extra sugar just about knocks my socks off. It works beautifully with my skin chemistry and I could not be more smitten. I may need a second bottle, and I don't really ever do the second bottle thing! It's that good. I kind of want to bathe in it. PERFECT.

    Pumpkin Queen

I'll preface this review by saying that while Pumpkin Queen did not agree with me personally, I recognize it as a beautiful fragrance that would really be amazing and sexy and *perfect* on the right person. It's really many things I love in a scent - it's just that it dries down too amberiffic for me, as amber tends to give me a headache. But Pumpkin Queen is regal, spicy, sexy, and autumnal - exactly as it should be. I appreciate it very much, even though it isn't something I'll wear. Beautiful, just not for me.

    French Love

Softly floral, dragon's blood, a hint of spice. Soft, yes. Sexy? Sorta, yeah. But my skin turns that sorta sexy scent into soapiness, which I don't think is very carnal or alluring. Too bad!

    The Carpathian Mountains

I thought I already reviewed this, but evidently I didn't! This is a really unique, striking scent. It really does smell like wintery, mountain air. The *cold* scent is most evident, along with the woodsiness - emphasis on juniper, I think, at least on my skin. The florals don't assault at all, the way florals often do on my skin - they're quiet backdrops to the scent, creating a more complex, genuine aroma. I like this one a lot in my scent locket, with a bit on my skin as well. Beautiful.

    How full is full?

To quote Andrabell: "I swear we've had this discussion before. Each measure of oil that goes into the bottles and vials are calibrated. The imps are 1/32 of an ounce (IIRC). The glass in each bottle/vial can differ, which is you may get bottles that are full into the neck or only up to the shoulders. It is still the same amount of oil. ETA: The viscosity of the oil can also make a difference in the level of fullness." This means that variations in how high or low the oil is when the vials come from the lab is *totally normal*. They all have the same amount of oil in them, but it won't always *look* the same due to oil and glass variations.
