    Tweedledum

Absurd! Green mango, fig, patchouli and green tea. This would be divine if it wasn't for my mortal enemy, patchouli. There's really only a small amount of it but it's enough to make my nose turn up and it gets stronger as time goes on (after a couple of hours I just have to scrub it off). Though, the wet stage of the mango and green tea combo is amazing. Like, this is foody for me. It's so juicy and strong, but not strong enough to keep you away. But oh, Tweedledum. If you had ditched that patchouli, we would have made beautiful music together.

    Milk Moon 2007

Wet: Funky grape juice. It reminds me of the Victoria's Secret scent "Love Spell" that my mom wears. Dry: If you like piña coladas! And getting caught in the rain! Sadly, I only like getting caught in the rain. Wow, this is strong. Kind of headache inducing. I think this one might be perfect to get my mother into BPAL, as she does enjoy piña coladas and would be happy with the halo-halo scent that portalkat ended up with as well.

    Tombstone

Rugged, wha? This actually smelled rather feminine on both of us. On him... His opinion: This is cotton candy and burnt plastic. My opinion: Spicy vanilla and...latex? On me... A similar effect, except after 2 hours it started to smell nice. But at that point, everything had faded except the vanilla. Not worth the wait, IMO.

    Fenris Wolf

We must have a mislabeled imp. Because this is nothing but sandalwood both on him and in the vial. Doesn't really change, just smells like sandalwood...like the incense they were burning at the Islamic store last week.

    Hunger

Wet: Orange blossoms and horse poop/manure. I think that's the narcissus. Well, neat. No vanilla Dry: I'm getting a bit of the vanilla now but even that doesn't save it. The narcissus smells like florals now, thank goodness, but it's still too strong for me. No lust here just, "get it off, get it off, get it off".

    Jezebel

Wet: It smells a heckova lot like O. A weaker version. With oranges. So so good. Dry: Unlike O, this doesn't stick around long at all. It's slightly powdery, which is weird. All that's left is a faint amount of orange, as if my skin is teasing me. It just eats anything with an orange note and says, "sorry, you can't have it. Nyah nyah." If I slathered it on, it probably would stick around better. Guh, it smells so good when it's wet though I'm gonna have to come back to this review if I can actually get it to stick. EDIT: Well now it's making me sneezy, WTF. I really wanted to love it.

    O

Finally getting around to this... My favorite scent. I sigh happily whenver I dab it on. It's pretty much the same wet and dry and the notes are pretty much it. The honey and vanilla work together gorgeously. The amber is subtle but there to keep this from being *too* sweet. It's not the scent of sex for me but rather the aftermath...the kisses, the snuggling, the loving embrace. O hugs me tight and thankfully, it lasts a while.

The Bow & Crown of Conquest

On him: Everything was really nice in this one...except the sage. Either it's his skin amping it or I've hated sage all along and not realized it. It reminds me of a generic cologne that your uncle or grandfather would wear. Old Spice! That's what it is. He liked it, I gagged. Is there something like this without the sage?

    Jailbait

I put this on my wishlist under the influence of the April Fool's unicorn skin. Oh, what blinky icons can do to a person. Wet: This is bubblegum (Bazooka Joe to be precise). Nothing more, nothing less. Dry: Except now that it reminds me of Las Vegas for some reason? Not seedy Vegas but...Harrah's? I really don't know why. I can't exactly identify what it is...smells sterile. Either this is the plastic scent people talk about or it's some sort of cleaning fluid. I get the same effect on both lotioned and dry skin. I'll pass. I've got enough pleated mini-skirts to not need this.

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

I've decided to wear Vasakasajja for my December wedding. Sweet florals. So gorgeous. And my fiance's cool with it so woohoo!

    Brisingamen

I have tried this scent 3 times and I'm still unsure of what to think. I either like it or I'm indifferent to it. On dry skin: My skin soaks up most of it and I'm left with mostly apples. It's such an interesting mix and I prefer this to the lotioned one. It's yummy and warm but doesn't last long at all. It's soft, demure but sophisticated. Lotioned skin: The rest of it sticks around and the myrtle takes center stage. It's much more in your face. Spicier. Like the incense they were burning at the Islamic market the other day (I should've asked what it was, oh well).

    Vasakasajja

Wet: Pretty. Floral. White. The orchids smell rich and fruity due to the vanilla. If I'm up close, it smells like perfume/alcohol. Dry: Just...wow. It's gotten prettier, if that's possible. Sweet and musky. I've been looking for a gorgeous scent to wear for my wedding and I think I've found it.

    Block Buster

Cinnamon is the overwhelming note on me...hmm. Christmas? Cider or Mexican hot chocolate? Hard to tell which it's closest to. I like cinnamon and it seems to like my skin very much but I can't imagine wearing this very often. Would be fun to have in an oil burner though. As for the voodoo properties, ehhh. I seemed to be a little more anxious, but that isn't really a motivator for me. Just makes me end up crying

    Desire

Wet: Ewwww. This smells like the perfume bin at a dollar store. It's loud and obnoxious. A brief glimpse of the rose but far too short as the patchouli and musk mix to stink it up. Dry: It's improving. I'm grateful for the rose coming out and I'm not a fan of roses! It's turned soapy quickly but fading fast. 20mins later there's really nothing left except a sharp twinge if I linger too long. Overall: Too bitter for me. Desire's a cougar and I want nothing to do with her.
  15. Looking for something reminiscent of the tiny glimpse of spring we had here in Arizona about two weeks ago. It was breezy orange blossoms with the air smelling like it was about to rain. So a slightly aquatic or ozone citrus. Not too dark or heavy but...comforting. I'm thinking Sea of Glass could fit these requirements but I'd appreciate any recommendations from experienced BPAL'ers!

    Mad Hatter

On my fiance... Wet: Rather minty. Like a Vick's Vapo-rub or something? Medicinal. Dry: His skin just amps up the lavender. Where's the musk? His comments: "Too flowery." "I smell like a girl." Away it goes...

    Sugar Skull

'06 version... *sigh* I really really wanted to like this. If I lived in a cooler climate, this would probably be one of my favorites. Wet: Sweet. Good blend of sugar and fruits. Warm. A little spicy. Dry: Pretty darn close to how it was wet. It's too warm and too strong for me to wear unless I'm on vacation in a cool place. It would only work here for about two months out of the year. Fun effect: our girl kitty woke up out of her sleep to come sniff me and then proceeded to lick any surface I touched.

    The Great Sword of War

Tossed this on my fiance. His thoughts: Good name ( ). Overall didn't like it but nothing stood out. My thoughts: In the bottle the mandarin was very dominant. A bit of coffee too, which was nice. Dry on him, it was mostly tobacco. A cigar, but a nice (expensive) cigar. Refined and mature but a bit too mature for someone in his mid-20s.

    Lolita

Wet: Lemon drops! Nothing but lemon drops. Dry: Kinda soapy. The lemon's faded and I can smell some honeysuckle but there's not much left. No throw at all. Fiance's commentary: Smells like a candle. Not very memorable. Side note: After trying this scent I did have "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" stuck in my head for a bit. It's a happy scent, it just didn't work for me.

    Cairo

This is incense-like but sweet. Not cheap dollar store incense. A hint of amber in there? Not overpowering so I'm not detecting any specific notes. Very smooth blend. Warm. Fiance went 'mmm!', which is good because I dig it
  21. If you like O, you should try Hugo Naturals Shea Butter & Vanilla Shower Gel. They're very very similar. O has some more warmth and Hugo Naturals is a little more clean, but that's the way it should be

    Manila

A tropical, humid, lush scent, with a faint echo of Pacific breezes, jungle blossoms, and deep wet woods. Sampaguita blossoms, banana leaf, palm, and narra. My first BPAL scent! I'm glad because my mom (and half of my blood) is from the Philippines. Another reason I'm glad this is my first: how the scent is on me is very different than the vast majority of the reviews. Wet: Heavy Sampaguita! I get absolutely no banana and just jabs of Sampaguita, with a hint of something very woodsy (the narra, perhaps?). Dry: Now just really really woodsy...but also breezy and warm. Mellow. A bit of banana as the Sampaguita fades but the wood is just too prominent for me. Was really hoping this would be lighter and fruitier but oh well!
