  1. In the imp: Ehm.. a bit sour?

On the skin: Honeysuckle and opium. It does have an incense feel to it. Florals and my skin must have an unpleasant history, because they hardly ever play nice together. This is one of the exceptions: it doesn't go sharp, although it doe sget a bit perfumey on me. It's not my thing, but if you're into headier florals, do give this one a go.

  2. Straight on skin: yes, grapefruit. Lovely in this late summer weather.

After a while: Mmmm, there is more to this kitty. The scent as a whole has a translucent quality. The musk gives it a bit of creaminess. Not a zingy grapfruit scent, but a pleasant soft one.

  3. In the bottle: smells cologny, erm...

On skin: the leather is very dominant. I like it, but I'm not so sure if I'll be wearing this one much. It's not overly masculine in my opinion, but it is a bit strong... and pitch black

After half an hour: Woah! The musk and amber come out to mingle with the leather, and it has a sweetness to it too. Lovely scent, it's getting a sticker slapped on the cap and will be moving into the bottle-box after all.

  4. Ogun smells like watermelon and tobacco in the vial. When it's on, it is a weird, hectic mix of chili, tobacco and said melon. The chili is at the foreground, making this scent spicy, but the melon falls in the cold scent category for me.. it's as weird and pleasant as eating gazpacho or drinking iced chai.

It is so weird, but I think I like it. I'll finish the imp and we'll see if it turns to a bottle.

  5. Hecate smells so gorgeous in the vial: buttery almond with myrrh.

On my skin, this is the fastest soap-mrpher I've ever tried. There are still traces of sweetness, perhaps a hint of cinnamon, but that's not enough to safe its grace.

  6. I was surprised to see Blood Pearl didn't have any Dragon's Blood in it. DB and I get along, but we're not really best friends, so I tend not to wear most 'blood blends'. This one sounded intrigueing to me.

The coconut is there, but it's not "HELLO! I am COCONUT" which it sometimes does on my skin. This is a warm blend to me, with dries down to a nice, slightly powdery musk.

And even if Beth secretly did put in some dragon's blood, I don't detect it.

  7. In the vial this is sweet honey with herbs

On my skin it turns out sharp, with none of the sweet honey goodness... It usually happens with a lot of florals, so I'm wondering if there are florals in this blend? Perhaps herbs do the same thing with my corrupted skin.

If this would stay the way it was in the bottle, it would be gorgeous. *sniffs again* beautifully sweet but not too sticky.

  8. In the vial this smells creamy and coconutty, but on my skin this is exactly like Milk Moon, but not as creamy. It seems like the watery aspect of this scent keeps it from being too creamy and greasy and ick. As it is, it is a beautiful Milk/cream scent.

  9. This smells spicy, perhaps a bit patchouli. Similar to All night long, but there is something in the background that's a bit sickeming to me...

Later: so is this civet perhaps? I don't know for sure if it's that, but it's sure NOT my taste. Off to a candle spell with this one, as I won't be wearing this one on my skin ever again.

  10. O dear, Yggdrasil scared me. :P At first it smells so strongly of cedar and medicine that I was tempted to wash it off. A bit later, the scent has mellowed a little but it still smells of burnt wood and angry greens. Later still, it's becoming a bit better. A woodsy, green scent and... ah, half an hour later, it has morphed into soap.

  11. On my skin, this is another dead ringer for Antique Lace (the other one was Black Opal), which goes to show that on my skin broods odd chemicals.

The mouse's long sad tale is slightly different though. I smell more vanilla, and the powder note is much less sharp. Got me an unsolicited compliment from my bf, while he hates AL (go figure!).

  12. In the vial: Fresh, perhaps slightly on the lemony side

On my skin: This is definitely a fresh, green scent, without any ozone notes to it. A tiny bit of creaminess, but I'd say the majority of the scent is sweet and green.

  13. My nose is probably way off, and my skin is probably doing something ungodly nasty to this oil (especially in this heat), but I smell Dragon's blood. It's probably the violet though, since my nose tends to put those two in the same category (same thing as with cherry/almond). Perhaps amber, but that's it on my skin.

  14. When I just pt this on, I got this dark, brooding wood scent, with green as well, but dark, dark, dark.

Now it's dried down to the perfect OMGHJDGVJYTGFYHGJH*&***&*!!!! musk. Musk is usually hit or miss on me, but this one hit the spot. So. Good.

  15. Very buttery. Is there fruit in there? The Skin of Teh Doom has sucked it all up. Which isn't unpleasant, in this case, fo rI get a similar caramel/savoury butter note that I get from Gluttony, but sans coffee/chocolate. Yum!

  16. In the bottle, this smells beautiful, like sugared citrus with just a dash of creaminess. A pinch of herbs, and all really well-blended. I was so looking forward to wearing this.

Of course, my skin perverts it into something generic, sharp and uninteresting. The bastard.

It'll have to wait until the Trading post comes out with a new batch of scent lockets....

  17. Orpheus is clean, green and a bit bitter. A little floral as well, but it isn't allowed to dominate (luckily for me). It's not overly fresh, like a breath of forest green, but this just has a 'fresh and clean' vibe for me, as if I just had a cold shower and put no lotion or perfume on. Nice.

  18. Wet it smells like overwhelming wine and sourness. When this dries, it does to something glorious: honey, myrrh, and a hint of spiced apples, oddly enough. Very beautiful and a candidate for a big bottle for me.

ETA: *stares at red patch on wrist* What could possibly be in here that I'm allergic to? *Whines* I have skin of steel! It can take Inferno with no problem! Why now? WAH!

  19. I just bought this for the painting, I have very little hope that my skin will make something nice out of this.

Wet, it smells bright and resinous at the same time.

This might be of interest only for those with similar chemistry: On my skin it turns into sharp generic perfumeness, unfortunately. This means the florals are fairly dominant in this blend.

  20. On me, this scent is definitely on the gingery tea side of things - I thought of Kumiho when I first applied it. When it's dry, I get mor eorange blossom adn sweet benzoin. Vetiver is in the background, but I notice it (in a positive way). It's a little sweet, a little powdery, a little masculine, and all in the good quantities. I'll have to give this some proper wear, but it is one of my favourites so far.

  21. This scent is mischievous in my perception. On my skin I get a dark Leather note. I can smell musk and ambergris, and the teensiest ginger twist. Once again, a salon scent which is anything but straightforward but hard to describe. But this one is nice.

Half an hour later I get a crossover between perversion and hellfire.... (which is good imo)

  22. I too, was expecting something woodsy and peppery, so I was surpirsed to smell something so sweet and juicy as this. It's not as gloomy as you would expect, it's pleasant and not masculine (-or feminine) at all.

For me personally, this is a scent locker candidate, as it goes a little sharp on my skin.
