  1. On me, this is sandalwood dominant with a mellow herbalness to it. Nothing is overwhelmingly strong, but you can definitely pick out the sandalwood most in the first hour or so. Once it starts to fade off the frankincense really comes through and balances out the herbal tones once the sandalwood is gone.

I'm not really a fan of patchouli, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this! I'll be hunting down more in the future.

  2. On me, this is almost a single note peony. At the very beginning I can get some of the fruitiness other people have described, but not after drydown. I'm a fan of peony so I'll definitely be keeping my decant but not sure if I'll be needing a full bottle.

  3. Very much a "new" leather smell if that makes sense. Not soft and warm, but strong and fresh. It's a bit weird to say a scent called Riding Crop reminds me of my father, but it's very comforting to me since after work he smelled of a mix of dirt, sweat, leather, and a concoction of mechanical fluids.

Definitely would like to try and see how layering this with Rivet.Goth and scents along those lines would turn out.

  4. This is absolute heaven on me. I could go either way with white tobacco, but I'm really glad I decided to try this one out. Very masculine leaning (in my opinion), but I could definitely see I badass dominatrix wearing this also!

The sandalwood mellows out the tobacco quite nicely, so don't be afraid! Even with me just receiving my bottle today, I'm in love. Of course I'll update as time goes on and as the bottle sits for a bit, but at the moment, I'm contemplating several back-ups...

UPDATE: Mellowed out a ton and it's no longer very strong in the beginning. Still masculine leaning, but I could see anyone pulling it off with the right attitude! It's smooth all the way through and well blended. Gradually fades off into a nice, musky, close to the skin scent within 6-7 hours but I find that sexy as all-get-out. Wouldn't mind reapplying either :wub3: I see multiple bottles in my future!

  5.

I've never hosted a circular swap before, but I had an idea for a 'First Day of Spring' circle. People could send testers of their favourite springtime perfumes, favourite springtime snacks (maybe I'm the only one who has snacks that feel best in certain seasons?), etc.. Would there be any interest in one?

This sounds like a great idea! I don't have spring snacks but I definitely have spring teas. :P

If there's enough interest, would you be up for cohosting? I'd like to keep it rather small just for the sake of it being more simple.

Usagi, I'd definitely be interested in a seed swap!

  7. THE OIL IS FREAKIN GREEN!!!! What more do you need to know?

On me, Deathrock is mostly florals and smoke. I think the florals are a mix of the hairdye and hairspray? It reminds me a lot of Rave hairspray everyone I knew used to use. The smoke is there but not overwhelming. I honestly would have loved more smoke.

A little DEFINITELY goes a long way so no need to slather.

  8. This is one of my all time favourite BPALs and I always have some on hand. It's just the right amount of sexy in a comforting scent that sets it far away from the rest. Maybe it's the sugared vanilla tea? Whatever it is, it's absolutely stunning.
