Gettin' a big bottle of this one. No question. I don't need to ask anyone else what they think of it. This one's for me. Very citrusy with a back of lilac over musk. Clean. After about an hour, the floral scent has come through a little more but there's absolutely no powder. Floral scents usually start to get a little powdery on me by now but this one's staying true. I keep sniffing myself 'cause I like it so much. I might have to put a little bit under my nose.

Oh, my. I hate to say anything bad but this one really doesn't work for me at all. I didn't like it in the bottle but it wouldn't have been the first time I did a complete 180 from my initial impression. Unfortunately, it didn't do any better on my wrist. in fact, it stung my nose. Seriously. I kept sniffing to see if I could figure out what I was smelling but the closest I got was "petroleum products". After about 2 minutes, I had to wash it off. I'm glad this was a freebie. *added later* Turns out it was the vetiver that was so overpowering. I caught whiffs of it in a couple of other scents and it was the only common note. Oddly enough, I liked the other two as the vetiver mellowed quickly and just lingered in the background.

In the bottle, I smell green...mint? Maybe my nose needs to be recalibrated. This one goes on a green, spicy musk. Maybe a bit green for me but still very nice. I tried to keep this one light but, an hour and a half later, I've got a bit of a musk cloud around my desk. Not at all unpleasant but not very subtle. I think I'll save this one for times when I want to smell confident, strong, and a little dangerous. *added later* When I got back from lunch, I noticed the scent had faded to a powerdry musk. I usually don't like powders but this one was quite pleasant. It also mixed with yesterday's Baron Samedi on the wrists and collar of my riding jacket. The best way I can describe the smell of my jacket now is "clean". Not soapy, not wet. Just fresh and clean. I might have to try mixing these two to see what happens.

This one must work differently on me. It makes me think of the holidays. As it dries, I smell a room where a spice candle was extinguised about 5 minutes ago. A bit of vanilla. A lingering scent of incense that reminds me of midnight mass. Warm and comforting. I'll probably save this one for November/December. I really like it but it seems out of place right now.

When I popped the top on this one, I almost didn't want to try it. Smelled way too earthy for me. But I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm glad I did. The earthy smell faded almost immediately to a very pleasant spicy rum. Maybe a little too pleasant. One of my office friends/drinking buddies just told me she doesn't want to smell this one again unless I mean it. And certainly not at the office. (Most just said I smell really nice/sexy/yummy.) This one's definitely going on the short list.

When I applied this one, I liked this combination of floral and musk. As it dried, I started getting a bit of the citrus, tho never very much. At about 45 minutes, it had settled into a fairly traditional musk with nice floral accents. It went over pretty well at the office. Lots of compliaments. By early afternoon, it was down to the musk. No more traces of floral or citrus that I could detect. Still smelled very nice, tho. Overall, I think this is a safe, predictable scent. It smells great at every stage (wet, dry, fading), smells great up close, and smells great in a passing whiff (or so I'm told). It's traditional enough to wear in any environment. Maybe not exotic enough to go trolling but it certainly won't turn anyone off. I think this will be a "default" scent I wear when I can't decide what to wear and need to get moving.

Got this one with my first order of samples this weekend. I would have tried it sooner if I'd noticed it was a "pre-release". Wet: Pepper and dark earth. Drying/Dry: I was reading my mail while this dried and found myself thinking of a forest. About 30 minutes after application, it reminded me of camping in northern California when I was a kid. Big trees, trekking through the woods, green foliage. Still there at the one hour mark so I think that's where it's going to settle. I don't know if I'd wear this one on a night out but I'll keep it around and give it a couple more tries.
