    Firethorn Berry Tea

I was expecting something very bitter and sharp, but from the imp it's actually very sweet and it's crazy how much of a tealeaves vibe I'm getting. Very interesting - on my skin it morphs pretty much directly to something a tad sweeter (a "sweet" I can only compare in my mind to the taste of tea with milk and sugar) but there's also something sharp/bitter in there, but it's still smooth (comparable to cinnamon). It kinda dies after a little while with drydown though which is a shame cause it's very pretty!

    Indulgence

Hmmm... From the imp it reminded me just a bit of fairy tales & lies, but a little warmer and added vetiver. The vetiver kinda scared me at first, but applied to my skin it directly went a lot sweeter and warmer and it fell into the background; there's a certain sweetness in here and a soft, woodsy pachouli. I can also imagine a string of swirling insence which might be the oudh & tobacco notes and it's so smooth. Not "wow" enough for a bottle for me but certainly lovely to try, and another great CP scent.

    Bon Vivant

This smells very lime-y and juicy in the imp. Very fresh and sweet like watermelon, kinda zesty. I'm gettin very little strawberry (but I might just not be picking it up as I don't think I've smelled much bpal with strawberry before yet). It's quite lovely. Turns soapy on my skin, aw.
  4. Aaand I see why everyone seems to like this- a deep red musk swirling like a mysterious cloud, that lovely purple plum like a swirl of incense, a touch of leafy/foresty pachouli and the other notes to sweeten it up. Very, very sexy. Has a huuuuge throw on me and an amazing staying power! If I sniff it up close on my wrist, it's a bit too sharp, and just a little too much pachouli. However, if I'm just about doing my thing I keep smelling this wonderful concoction and it's not too sharp at all. It's quite amazing on me. I read the newer version is softer/sweeter and I'm pretty sure I might like that one EVEN more. BIG yes!! So happy I got to try this

    Crowley

I was not expecting this (though I'm not sure what I was expecting). Leather is known to amp on me, which is basically what I end up with on drydown plus some of that lovely sweet vanilla and a tiiny bit of the lilac (which unfortunately never seems to work on me). I find this a pretty soft blend, a thick leather with a bit of lime and lots of vanilla. Dies on me after half an hour though. Too bad! This is great!

    Sugar Plum Fairy

Dusty, sugary, soft and sweet! The abricot and plums are a tad artificial but that doesn't mean that I don't get an appetite for them from this. However my skin kinda turns this into something comparable to blue lollipops in it's dry stage, just a little more dim. It still has a huge throw and I get whafts of it for a good couple of hours wearing this. I might want a bottle of it in the future if it gets another release, but I'm not in a rush. It is really quite lovely though!!

    Krampus

Got a bunch of imps from a lovely swapper, including krampus 2006. Oooh... sultry but spicy. A herby type of spicy. The wood notes in there are subtle and there's also something aquatic & really sweet, but not sickeningly. On my skin it amps up the red musk, but also the spicy notes kinda jump out on me. A bit overwhelming, but still sultry, and surprisingly doesn't have a strong throw on me. I don't think I need a bottle as I like it a bit more in it's wet stages than dry, but what a lovely blend! (My bird seems to be very interested in this scent; she keeps walking onto my hand where I applied the perfume).

    Half-Elf

Ah, I was wondering what that bittery-sweetness is, beeswax! This is just a lovely masculine-leaning scent with something dark and woodsy- (and I mean forest-y) in there. It's sort of evil. On my skin it amps up the sandalwood it becomes far more leathery but holds on to the sweetness of the beeswax. Very interesting~

    Lyonesse

Mmmm.. Sweet, soft ambery and musky with just a bit of those florals and a good patch of moss. Don't let that moss note scare you though, it's not very green if you're not into that sorta thing. (It is quite golden). I don't even really know how to describe it otherwise but I'm impressed. It's like rays of sunshine through trees.

For me from the imp it's actually quite warm and sweet, and I love the hibiscus in there. Most of the notes I can actually pick up (chocolate! Wine! Tobacco!) and it's a very interesting and really nicely mixed scent, it really works together very well. Goes a bit more dry and fruity/honey on my skin.

    Kill-Devil

Oh no. This is not for me. sweet, buttery, lime, cake-y... I don't want to put this on my skin but here goes... And yep, there's the woodsy scents! This seems to save it for me a bit actually ...but this is going on my swapslist.

    Jack

I was so hoping for this to kinda go crazy on my skin and just amp up to the point of no return but no, it fades basically five minutes after drydown. Ugh. Besides that, this is great. a sweet realistic sliced open pumpkin that I want to eat. On drydown, it amps up the clove and nutmeg a bit making it spicier and sharper. It's lovely and de-licious!

    June Gloom 2009

Oh wow, a lovely dreary, dark rainy floral garden from the imp. It gets a bit more green on drydown, and there's still that ozone-y type thing going on without going mens' deodorant on me which is pretty great. However it dies after ten minutes. Alas, it's lovely!

    Rose Red

A very damp and strong rose. Not much like the I guess more softer and sweeter rose as in "The peacock queen" which is kinda more my schtick. Much more stem-y green notes in here as well. It's kinda like sticking your nose into a big bush of recently cut roses carefully put into a glass vase of water.

    Magnificent Autumn

2015 Version: from the imp, it's really sweet like honey and has some of that dead-leave note BPAL does so well. It's also damp and rainy and just indeed, an array of autumn. On my skin, it morphs to something a bit more fruitier, and kitchen herby + a sharp leafy/stem-green note. Very interesting!!
  16. Without looking at the notes, I thought there was black liquorice in there! It's pretty sweet, smoky and warm. Lots of wood. Unfortunately it just amps up what I'm guessing is that vanilla in there which I can't un-smell and think of anything not-liquorice... Which is not something I'd want to smell like. However I see how this is a crowdpleaser as it's kinda sexy and intoxicating.

    Pirate Moon

Ooh, it's perfect. A sultry and subtle pirate it is. Some of the notes are so dimmed down I get whifts of everything once in a while but it's still blended in a way that the rest of the notes are there, quietly in the background. The most prominent notes from the bottle are the sandalwood, tobacco and the other woodsy notes. I'm not getting much lime at all. It's like a calm night at sea on an old ship. Beautiful!

    Cicuta

It reminds me of a dark catacomb-like cellar, and lovely dusty rose petals on the ground, with strings of dancing frankincense in the background. There's something slightly pulsating in there, something red, I think it's the saffron. But again, it's just light enough. Might be what other people on here call that metallic note, I personally wouldn't call it that but I totally see where they're coming from. It really doesn't morph from the bottle besides going a little warmer in the process of drying down. A great homage to the ancient, "original" vampires.

    Dr. Alan McMichael

I see how some of you are getting snow white vibes from this, even though that wasn't my initial thought of it until I read it. In the imp it's a bit medicinal, fresh and maybe a light brown/green? The moment I put it on my skin however it morphs directly into something spicy and more warm. Definately a rum and cinnamon(?) spice. And is it just me or is there just a tiny hint of coconut hiding in there? The sandalwood is really rich and smooth and embraces the other notes and makes it feel like a "well-rounded" scent the way only sandalwood can. Glad I didn't go for a bottle as it's not for me, but it's really not bad at all!

    The Ghost

A fresh floral and laundry detergent. It's a bit of a green floral note, as if the flowers have just been cut for an arrangement. It's nothing special to me, but it is still a subtle, lovely sweet scent with a hint of ghostly chill.

    Luna Azul

Hmm. Right off the bat, from the bottle this gives me major Lullaby vibes from the crimson peak line. On my skin, it's still a lot like it, but more watered down, and the other notes that differ and I can pick out is the fruityness lingering in there and the opium tar (or rather that's what I think I'm smelling). It's nice, but I like it a little less then lullaby, and I won't need two bottles.

    Reptoid Dominion

Oh my god. Why are they not selling more of these these days, this is AMAZING. It's really hard to describe (I mean, reptoid musk really does it justice) but it's a dusty, dark and slithery musk. There's only a subtle, tiny hint of vetiver in there for me, which trust me I am very happy about. What a complicated thing. There's also aquatics, frankinsence- and applied on my skin, it just makes me feel evil. Doesn't morph much from the bottle. There's something tangy in there, like a lime, which gives it a spectral and mesmerising edge... If I had more of this, I would wear this literally all the time. There's also something in it that screams "dusty hippie shop" but it's absolutely not a bad thing. So glad I was able to pick up a bottle off etsy (and I desperately need more).

    Edith Cushing

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind: pearlescent vanilla musk with white sandalwood, grey amber, white patchouli, ambrette seed, and oudh. So sweet and soft! From the bottle it's a pretty ..zingy vanilla and sugar in there, but once applied to skin it directly goes subtler. Just a lovely edible vanilla with something nutty, and the sandalwood, patchouli and oudh, though subtle, really embrace it and make it the well-rounded perfume that it is. A happy, warm, feminine scent. EDIT: At first this really had to grow on me due to some of the notes that I didn't know what to think of, but now that I've had it for a couple of months, I find it absolutely lovely, and I dread the day I'm gonna be out of this!

    Between Your Heart And Mine

A shy but lovely woodsy rose. Really subtle but on my skin I do get a whaft of it every now and then. The vanilla is there but possibly even more subtle then the rose. Other then that it's got a dusty or old quality. And it's great.

    Woods in Winter

Aaaahhh.... this is beau-ti-ful. Literally woods in winter; a pine forest covered in thick chilly snow. However thank goodness the pine is not as in your face as in other bpal blends and it works perfectly! I'd say there's something slightly sweet in there too (probably the berries). I love this very much indeed.
