    Nephilim

When I sniffed this in the imp and on wet it smelled dry and clean. Like sandalwood and lavender, and there was some eucalyptus too. Dry it still smells the same, very clean, herbal and interesting. I could not have guessed the other notes except maybe oakmoss. It reads clean and masculine to me.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

Bottled happiness. Helps reverse misfortune, brings light and laughter to even the most troubled and discordant place, and aids in alleviating the stress and discontent that accompanies so many of life's daily trials. I got strawberry bubblegum the whole way through. Bright, happy, and fun for sure but not my kind of scent!

    Miskatonic University

This starts off as a very creamy Irish coffee. Very heavy on the cream, the coffee is soft and sweet. The oak gives a depth underneath, and there is a dusty quality to the scent. It all melds together quite nicely though and gives the overall impression of walking into an old university library.

House of Unquenchable Fire Atmosphere Spray

I adore this! Exactly what my bedroom needs to smell like. It's warm and comforting but also a little sultry. The amber and vanilla silk are what I get the most of, especially when it's still fresh. I also get the heady champaca and neroli swirling around. As it settles I get more frankincense, which has a texture to my nose and smells bright (like citrus without being citrus?). It lingers beautifully.

    Gertrude Dix's

The champagne note is the most noticeable for me. It's light, fizzy, and a little fruity. I do get some light, clean floral as well. Overall a very fresh scent and it's great for brightening up common spaces like the bathroom or the laundry room, but I prefer warmer scents for my bedroom.

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I haven't but I'm going to start looking for it!

    The Queen's Croquet Ground

This isn't as chilly of a rose note to me as a Rose Red, but certainly is a fresh and pure red rose, with plenty of green. I wasn't sure how I would like rose as a room scent (though I adore it in perfume), but this is beautiful and not perfume-y. The green really balances it and puts in more in room scent territory rather than smelling like you sprayed everything with a floral perfume. It smells like a rose garden in your house!

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I'm not new to BPAL but newish to the forum and LEs (was too scared to try most of them before I knew about decant circles!) I have found myself in a bit of a rut so I think it will be fun to try some recommendations based on things other than notes. Anyway here we go! My name is Hailey, I am a 21 year old linguistics student. I am absolutely fascinated with all aspects of language, and my dream job would to be working in language restoration somewhere cold (or Hawai'i ). I am an INFP. I can be very loud and bubbly, especially around people I am comfortable with but eventually mt social energy is drained and I need to retreat with a good book and a cup of tea to recharge. I am definitely feeling, I use my gut for making decisions most of the time, and emotions tend to be my biggest consideration for myself and other people. I can also tend to be swept up into emotions easily. I am excitable, quick to anger (but it does not last), easily infatuated, and I love intensely. I am a Libra sun/Aries moon/Libra rising. I am VERY indecisive. I would say weighing options constitutes a large portion of my day. A large part of my personality is humor. I love making people laugh, it's my go-to icebreaker and tool to bond with people. My favorite compliment is laughter or people telling me they think I'm funny. I love adventure. Hiking, exploring the outdoors, and travelling are among my favorite things to do. I have recently gotten into bouldering as well. I am a huge bookworm, my favorite book is Sweet Thursday by John Steinbeck and I have a tattoo of an octopus based off it. I also love to cook and bake. Cooking for friends and family is one of my favorite ways to share my love. I would describe my style generally as dark romantic. A lot of what I wear has Victorian touches. I also love contrasting things like textures and masculine and feminine elements. OH and I'm a Slytherin! Thanks for reading!

    Tamora

The imp of this I received seems to be fairly old. The peach blossom is strong and melds with the amber in the dry down to a very rich, warm effect with just the lightest breath of fruitiness. The vanilla bean is also very strong. It's a pretty, feminine and sweet scent without being girlish. ETA: a fresher imp I have received is much peachier. A very soft golden peach, accented by sandalwood and amber.

    Death on a Pale Horse

Started out pale and wispy, with mostly dry white sandalwood. Dry the vetiver and patchouli form a strong, earthy base but not heavy. The blend is buoyed by white musk and lavender. I do not get any other note specifically, but overall this is an herbal, dry and solemn scent.

    Czernobog

At first my nose read "dirty lime" but then it was to more of pine smell, like LizziesLuck experienced. Dry there's still a pine-like quality with smoky vetiver, but it's somewhat softened by the sweet musks.

    Ladon

This is beautiful! Tart apple and hyacinth (one of my favorite flowers) with clean white musk. The dragon's blood isn't super prominent for me (which is perfect) and just adds a little spice.

    Machu Picchu

I did not get much fruit from this. I mostly smell dark humid foliage and tropical flowers, with just a touch of light fruit. When fully dry, I get rich warm amber mingling with it all. A soft, breezy tropical scent. Clean but not in a laundry or aquatic way.

    Port Royal

Very soft on me. A light, skin-close spicy woody scent, and just a little boozy. There is definitely an exotic element here. It feels subtle, but sexy and dangerous.

    Deadly Nightshade Honey

Smells like evergreen honey. Then the honey starts amping to headache inducing levels. Why do the Rappaccini's honeys never work on me?

    Dragon's Tears

It smelled nice in the imp, an aquatic floral. But dragon's blood always turns to an overly sweet-spicy-fruity floral and it was just not a nice mix with the salty aquatic notes.

    Sherlock Holmes

In the imp: clean men's cologne with a shot of bright lime. Wet: similar to the imp. There's something a little sweet here too. Dry: Soft leather and tobacco mix with a clean men's cologne for a unique and beautiful combination. There is just a spark of lime. I love this, a very interesting scent. There is something classic men's cologne about it, but it smells like something totally new and different at the same time.

    The Old Goblin

Interesting! I was expecting something bracing and mentholated. The snow note smells cold in a really subtle way. I also get a lot of vetiver, but not much fir. Not what I expected at all!

    Black Forest

This was a really sweet, warm pine to me. It must have been the black musk. It stays pretty much the same the whole way through on me, but much softer dry.

    Rapture

In the imp: all mandarin and bergamot. Wet: Citrus and tiny bit of neroli and jasmine. Just a little headiness around the citrus. Dry: Pretty much the same wet. I think I might detect a little rose, but I am afraid it might be my imagination. I really thought this was going to be a sexy, fun rose!

    New Orleans

Jasmine and honeysuckle roll out heady and humid. There's something dry and herbal that I would pin down now as lavender thanks to Casablanca, but it does not move the scent into bath product or sleepy time as lavender does for me. When I move my hands around I get wafts of lemon, but not when I sniff directly off my arm. There is some dampness underneath, like jungle-y greenery. A bold summer floral that I will revisit next season!
  22. roseus

    Kumari Kandam

It's starts off with a cold note (apparently snow but I have limited experience with these notes) but it is not minty or mentholated. There is clay, and humid florals. I also get a hint of sweet incense and ocean water. It's not super ozone-y or salty. The aquatic aspect is very subtle and beautiful.

    No. 93 Engine

Starts off very forest-y balsam, and herbaceous, it's a little sharp but not so much that it's off putting for me. On wet: Similar to in the imp but with a little sweetness underneath. Dry: A nice smooth base of benzoin and beeswax, with a little frankincense. There's a lot of herbs and other things floating over top, but the one that stands out the most to me is sage. It's a little spicy but not in a heated cinnamon kind of way.

    Kabuki

Starts off like cherry cough syrup, but dry it's a nice sweet red musk with a little cherry, followed by anise. It's nice if you like cherries and anise, but as I do not this will soon be relocated to a loving home!

    Tweedledee

Starts off with the pleasantly bitter orangeness of the kumquat. The white tea is crisp, and the orange blossom is floating around sort of softening the edges. It's not super peppery to me but I'm definitely getting a little heat in this blend. It's nice and I'll revisit it next spring to see if I need a bottle.
