    Deep Gnome Pastry Chef

Creamy almond and cardamom pastry and warm, sticky fruits. I think @doomsday_discois right and there is fig here. It smells a bit like Cucidati without the citrus and booze notes. Very cozy gourmand.

    Statistically Favorite Scent

I'm still getting all my scents into a sheet (about 2/3 there I think) also putting in bottles I've finished but love. So far my top 5 statistically favourite notes: Vanilla (34) Amber (17) Patchouli (17) Musk (16) Rose (13) Sounds bang on so far 😅

    The Sixth Veil

Fizzy herbal concoction. I get rosemary, a hint of citrus peel I think (could be the white tea perhaps?) I'm having a hard time pulling it all apart but it is crisp and refreshing. The fizz really holds out on my skin, sometimes fizzy notes like this one fade quickly in the dry down. It doesn't come off as boozy on my skin. As it settles the vanilla base comes out, giving a bit more body to the scent.

Idle Moon: Rice Milk and Mallow Hair Gloss

I'm getting a different vibe than previous reviewers. Definitely sweet, especially sniffing directly in the bottle. Sprayed into hair it's a rice crispy treat but made with those bougie artisan marshmallows. Sweet, but to me, not cloyingly so. It has an airiness to it. It reminds me a bit of Precious Beauty, something about that sweetened grain vibe.

    Idle Moon

Crisp breezy white tea, with a creamy musky element I can't quite pin. As it dries down I get a bit of light woodiness, nothing intense like cedar, just giving a bit more backbone to the tea. The rice becomes more apparent as it dries down, I think it was part of that muskiness I was getting fresh on. Settled it's a low, warm airy base for the tea, and it's striking me like specifically basmati rice.

    Spellbound

Lush, velvety red rose and amber with a deep, rich red musk. Makes me think of a lavish parlor, gilded and full of velvet and brocade.

    Snake in the Grass

I get more sweet breezy clover freshly on, and it gets more grassy as it settles. A gorgeous vibrant green meadow (definitely a Ghibli meadow!) with an undercurrent of Snake Oil. If you are a fan of Green Tree Viper I would say this is a second cousin. Fresh green SO, but obviously no mint.

Idle Moon: Coconut Milk and Rice

The coconut is very strong in the bottle and on wet, it's a very (for lack of a better word) fruity coconut- more Obatala than Coconut Meat SN. I gets both the obvious coconut cream smell, and the smell of coconut water. Like how coconut water has that slight faintly bitter greeeness to it? It is very pleasant and true to life, not too sweet and doesn't pull suncreeny on me. As it dries down I get a gorgeous starchy rice note.

Idle Moon: Jasmine Rice and White Musk

This smells reminiscent of my beloved recently departed The Moon Reflected in Every Rice Paddy. The musk is creamy and slightly sweet, not at all a fresh clean white musk. The rice is beautifully starchy-powdery and there is a hint of creamy jasmine. Extremely huffable.

Looking for some good Oud scents..

Oud is incredible, I became obsessed when my friend showed me her oud collection, much of it prepared by her mother in Zanzibar. There is a Swamp Oud and Vetiver Root duet currently available - can't speak to the qualities of swamp oud though! Some other scents off the top of my head that might appeal: Hypatia (Rose water and a mineralic, star-dappled blend of white musk, crystalline amber, and sweet oud) and Deuteronomy 10:18 (Hay absolute, patchouli, agarwood, and vetiver), Also be on the lookout for agarwood in descriptions, just another name for oud.

    June Gloom 2024

Gorgeous heady orange blossom (maybe a touch of jasmine too?) surrounded by a gorgeous humid, foggy aquatic note. The smell of hot June rain

Hunter’s Moon: Tonka and Fossilized Amber

Incredible chewy rich amber, with tonka giving it and extra bit of juice. I have a hard time describing tonka, and here it is unobscured. It's like a dusky, vanilla+. It's a bit nutty-fruity, and has a bit of a woody muskiness. Gorgeous duet!

    Equivalent No. 314

I agree this has a creamy sort of earl grey vibe, like if a cloud was infused with a white tea earl grey. It feels both creamy and airy at the same time, foggy is a great word for it. This has crazy throw on me, but is gentle enough of a scent that it isn't overwhelming.

    Cake for Breakfast

Fizzy peach in the imp, more peachy-chocolate on my skin. Which sounds like a strange combination but it is really pretty. The buttery pastry of the pain au chocolate comes out a lot during the wet stage, but dries down to juicy peach and chocolate with a hint of fizzy cherry (and it is behaving on me!).

A Record Book of Ships Entering the Harbor

The vanilla and sandalwood combo is soft- reminding me more of Reapers Gonna Reap than And Though They Are With You. The tobacco is gentle, it is lightly sweet and adds a bit more richness and body to the scent as it settles on my skin. The blackcurrant bud is more prominent earlier in wear adding freshness. It is subtle and refined, a really elegant scent.

    Vixen Red

Waxy cherry-vanilla in the imp, reminiscent of flavoured lip balm. Almost candy-like. On my skin the cherry is cough syrupy as expected unfortunately. But on my wife it is a gorgeous juicy cherry-rose combo, with that waxy vanilla base. Really pretty!

The Serpent in the Opium Poppies

I agree this is similar to Madrigal, a little deeper and darker. The plum and opium really transform the Snake Oil, I still get that patch-vanilla-incense base but it's not like some variations where it's Snake Oil but with extra embellishments. Sultry and hypnotic.

    Seule

Pretty lemon-speckled thick vanilla-honey. I get more amber and skin musk as it settles on my skin. It's golden late summer sun in a bottle.

Diver Combing her Hair Hair Gloss

Gorgeous salty lilac and lavender. I agree that is feels quite herbal. A soft, cool toned scent. Definitely going to need more of this.

    Jiroft Red

Waxy and rosy in the imp- lipstick for sure! On my skin I get the breezy narcissus and a touch of some mineral notes. I don't get dates specifically but could be adding to some of the deep sweetness in the scent. It's a lovely, nostalgic scent.

    The Fox Spirit’s Jest

In the imp I get an incense-y, rose-y chypre that just reads as 'ornate' to my nose. It makes me think of a beautiful manor. Oh my skin the warm, sweet musk and patchouli are th main event. It's warm, slightly spicy and incense-y with just a breath of rose in the background.

The Harbor of Love on the Island of Women Hair Gloss

Oh this is pretty! The cherry and rose meld together in a really pretty and interesting way. It's sweet and creamy but not overly so. It has a fun and frilly vibe.

Couple Engaged in Intimate Acts as the Man Pours Tea

This has been the jasmine tea note I've been hunting for awhile, and paired with rice?? I'm in love. Dries down to a delicious rice and vanilla base with a jasmine-flecked deep green vegetal tea note. Just the tiniest hint of yuzu but overall a mellow cozy scent on me.

    Penetralia

Tart, pink, juicy and creamy. A beautiful breezy tart-sweet floral, and I swear I get guava? To me it is not a candy-sweet but juicy fruity sweetness. It doesn't change much on my skin and has good throw. A great refreshing summer scent.

    Rapturous Spouses and Curious Cat

This smells way different in the imp than what I anticipated. The honey and amber are thick and chewy. I get the frankincense and cedar on the skin, and just peek of the florals. More lemon blossom and ylang ylang than neroli. Just a hint of them, the blend is thick and resinous and honey-sweet. Pretty, a languid late summer sun scent.
