I agree this has a creamy sort of earl grey vibe, like if a cloud was infused with a white tea earl grey. It feels both creamy and airy at the same time, foggy is a great word for it. This has crazy throw on me, but is gentle enough of a scent that it isn't overwhelming.

Fizzy peach in the imp, more peachy-chocolate on my skin. Which sounds like a strange combination but it is really pretty. The buttery pastry of the pain au chocolate comes out a lot during the wet stage, but dries down to juicy peach and chocolate with a hint of fizzy cherry (and it is behaving on me!).

The vanilla and sandalwood combo is soft- reminding me more of Reapers Gonna Reap than And Though They Are With You. The tobacco is gentle, it is lightly sweet and adds a bit more richness and body to the scent as it settles on my skin. The blackcurrant bud is more prominent earlier in wear adding freshness. It is subtle and refined, a really elegant scent.

Waxy cherry-vanilla in the imp, reminiscent of flavoured lip balm. Almost candy-like. On my skin the cherry is cough syrupy as expected unfortunately. But on my wife it is a gorgeous juicy cherry-rose combo, with that waxy vanilla base. Really pretty!

I agree this is similar to Madrigal, a little deeper and darker. The plum and opium really transform the Snake Oil, I still get that patch-vanilla-incense base but it's not like some variations where it's Snake Oil but with extra embellishments. Sultry and hypnotic.

Pretty lemon-speckled thick vanilla-honey. I get more amber and skin musk as it settles on my skin. It's golden late summer sun in a bottle.

Gorgeous salty lilac and lavender. I agree that is feels quite herbal. A soft, cool toned scent. Definitely going to need more of this.

Waxy and rosy in the imp- lipstick for sure! On my skin I get the breezy narcissus and a touch of some mineral notes. I don't get dates specifically but could be adding to some of the deep sweetness in the scent. It's a lovely, nostalgic scent.

In the imp I get an incense-y, rose-y chypre that just reads as 'ornate' to my nose. It makes me think of a beautiful manor. Oh my skin the warm, sweet musk and patchouli are th main event. It's warm, slightly spicy and incense-y with just a breath of rose in the background.

Oh this is pretty! The cherry and rose meld together in a really pretty and interesting way. It's sweet and creamy but not overly so. It has a fun and frilly vibe.

Couple Engaged in Intimate Acts as the Man Pours Tea

This has been the jasmine tea note I've been hunting for awhile, and paired with rice?? I'm in love. Dries down to a delicious rice and vanilla base with a jasmine-flecked deep green vegetal tea note. Just the tiniest hint of yuzu but overall a mellow cozy scent on me. -
Tart, pink, juicy and creamy. A beautiful breezy tart-sweet floral, and I swear I get guava? To me it is not a candy-sweet but juicy fruity sweetness. It doesn't change much on my skin and has good throw. A great refreshing summer scent.

This smells way different in the imp than what I anticipated. The honey and amber are thick and chewy. I get the frankincense and cedar on the skin, and just peek of the florals. More lemon blossom and ylang ylang than neroli. Just a hint of them, the blend is thick and resinous and honey-sweet. Pretty, a languid late summer sun scent.

This is *salty* but doesn't push unpleasant on my skin. It is very chocolatey and marshmallowy in the imp, I was afraid it was going to be cloying on my skin. Fresh on, the wave does indeed swell, and it was more aquatic than gourmand initially. A big fresh, salty wave with a bit of marshmallow-y white chocolate foam sweetening it and softening it. Dry it is more balanced. The marshmallow and white chocolate form a sweet base that is cut by the salt, keeping it in check.

In the imp I get juicy ginger and I *think* blue musk. Something that recalls sweet, fresh 'watery' scents without being straight up aquatic. All backed up by that beautiful silky vanilla. The ginger gets a tiny bit more fiery and herbal on my skin, help breaking up the airy sweetness. Absolutely beautiful. ETA: after watching Tom's review I realised that I was of course getting white rose in what I interpreted as a vanilla silk. It's a soft creamy rose that melds beautifully with the surrounding notes.

Something about the combination of almond and coconut (and maybe the fig too?) read as 'banana' on me initially. But as it settles it is nutty warm almond and rice. A delicious rice pudding scent.

Lots of opium in the imp/fresh on. A bit of bergamot brightness and a slightly bitter fruitiness I'm interpretating as the berries. As it settles on my skin it becomes incense-forward, with the opium and jasmine trailing behind.

I agree that this is deep but not heavy. An airy-sweet lavender (as opposed to herbal), darkened and deepened by labdanum and tea. A gorgeous, mysterious swirly sort of scent.

This one is hard for me to summarise. Dusky is a great word for it, as it's a low, rumbly sort of scent. Initially I get mostly resins, a bit of sandalwood and some sweetness from the dates. As it settles on my skin it gets muskier, and I get the slightest bit of fruity dragon's blood (it doesn't take over which is unusual for my skin!).

Oooey gooey marshmallow and grapefruit! The grapefruit is entirely sweetened by the marshmallow, no tartness or bitterness. This smells so nostalgic to me and I can't put my finger on what it is reminding me of.

Sweet cinnamon bread and a bit of coffee in the decant. On my skin I get a milky note underneath. The coffee fades back on my skin and I get mostly cinnamon bread and milk. Homey and comforting.- 8 replies

Pitch and snappy black leather in the imp. Rugged, medicinal. This assassin means business. On my skin the leather becomes more worn, still rugged and not at all sweet, but definitely not headache-y for me. I get lots woodsy, piney greenness.

At a late period in the evening, after nearly three hours of experiment, Mrs Hayden having risen, and talking at another table while taking refreshment, a child suddenly called out, Will all the spirits who have been here this evening rap together? The words were no sooner uttered than a hailstorm of knitting-needles was heard, crowded into certainly less than two seconds; the big needle sounds of the men, and the little ones of the women and children, being clearly distinguishable, but perfectly disorderly in their arrival. Augustus de Morgan Polished mahogany and black tea with a clatter of vanilla husk and oak wood. In the bottle this is vanilla tea with a little bit of dark polished wood underneath and it stays true on my skin. A deep rich vanilla tea, with the woods coming in for support. Elegant and cozy.

Musky floral in the imp, surprising as I was expecting to be slapped with wasabi. On my skin I get a lot of fruity red musk, I do get a grape-y note as well. I don't get any hint of spice or heat or resin. Just a sweet fruity musky floral. Pretty!
