    Young Woman Powdering Herself

Yes definitely old-fashioned! It's powdery but not dry, and definitely makes me think of a vintage vanity set up. The rose is soft, and the gardenia gives the scent a good body. It feels clean even though there's no white musk or soapy notes. I think it's just the association.

Fern, Red Clover, and Wild Lettuce

Fresh, with a sweet crispness I get some dark green, vegetal and slightly bitter notes which I think are from the fern and lettuce. I think the clover is the sweet, breezy element over the top. I agree there is something slightly apple-y about it, a a bit of crisp green apple in the mix. Would be so good for spring.
  3. A beautiful sugary cloud of flowers. The mallow flower is so creamy, it has a blurring effect for all the notes. I can pick out the sandalwood and incense but just. The sweetness is so alluring and it just sort of draws you into the scent. The orris doesn't really come out on me thankfully!
  4. Sweet, musky cherry blossoms and a clean breezy note in the bottle. Almost candy sweet. On my skin the incense and plum come in and tone down the sweetness. The vibe is less cloud of cotton candy and more swirling purple cloud. The tuberose comes in as it dries and gives a headiness to the blend. Love this as a slightly darker alternative to my other cherry blossoms!

Soft May the Worms About Her Creep

In the imp this is very strawberry, with a touch of blackcurrant. On my skin the strawberry goes up in pitch and the coconut comes out. Something about it is reading strawberry-piña colada to me. Eventually the strawberry calms down a bit, it's still quite sweet. The coconut is more creamy at this stage and finally a bit of jasmine is peaking out. A pretty cloud of pink.

    The Fairy Lovers

Floaty gardenia, a touch of white rose and moss dominate this blend for me initially. It makes me think of an ethereal forest. As it dries it becomes more floral and less mossy, now a full on garden. The gardenia and rose are definitely present but in a blended chorus with the rest, which I'm having a harder time picking out. Though I think I can detect a bit of that humid, slightly green-floral note of the vanilla flower. The moss is still present, and I get just a touch of amber. A very fae bouquet.

    Blackberry Moon 2022

So purple in the imp. We're talking concord grape. On my skin it transforms instantly to blackberry, deep rich, with some wine-y aspects. A little glitter from the bergamot. As it dries it wants to veer into candy territory on me. The patch comes in and sort of grounds it, but it is a bit disjointed on me.

Black Goat Enjoying A Pink Flower

Mostly buttery goats milk and carnation in the imp, but I can smell a grassy-smoky vetiver in the background. Wet it is all about the vetiver, very much smoky now. As it dries the honeycomb tries to reign it in and I can get hints of carnation and goats milk, but vetiver is just a bit too strong on me unfortunately!

And I Wede My Corne Well I-Now

This smells like my ideal chai in the imp. Lots of sweet cinnamon and cardamom, with a good dose of clove. Here it is sweetened by amber instead of sugar, giving it a golden glow. On my skin it gets a bit more atmospheric with the hay dusting about, and I get a little hazelnut underneath the spice. An incredible autumn scent, will definitely need more!

    Clytie

In the imp I get a mossy peach in a cloud of incense. Juicy peach with a dusting of green. It's unusual but beautiful. On wet it is less smoky, even peachier. As it dries the amber and ambergris ground the peach a bit, as does the incense smoke. But the moss never comes back, and I never detect the cardamom. Apparently peach is a bit of a bulldozer on me! A very nice peach note though.

    The Mystic Moon

In the imp this reminds me a bit of The Witch Queen. It has this somewhat purple tone, and a bottomless quality. Deep but not heavy. On my skin it gets much headier, it is very much about the jasmine! But is has this amber base that has slight clean facet for a bit of lift. Really makes me think of a full moon.

    Frogberry Moon

Dewy florals is the perfect way to describe this. Often lotus goes waxy or bubblegum on me, but not here. I would say it's primarily water lily and lotus, but the ylang ylang trails closely behind along with the berries. The green musk gives the whole thing a refreshed, dewy quality. If I really sniff around I can detect some grapefruit but it is well blended in.

    Praefuro

Fiery indeed. Hot ginger and lemongrass come roaring out of the decant. The dbr and frankincense come in to stoke and support on my skin and there's an herbal element at play in the background, presumably the roots and rosemary.

Strange is Thy Pallor! Strange Thy Dress!

Bracing in the imp! Lemon and the soft eucalyptus blossom note I've come to adore from the Lab. On my skin it's less bracing and more refreshing with some sweetness from the absinthe. The absinthe, lemon, and eucalyptus are in perfect balance. As it dries a soft sandalwood peaks out. This is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for hot summer days.

    Hagstone

A beautiful mineralic seaspray! Not too salty, and with a beautiful green wash and a clean lift from the tobacco flower.

    The Sheepfold, Moonlight

In the imp this is very soft and cozy, mostly wool with a slight fresh green edge. It stays fairly true on my skin, the hay coming out a bit more particularly wet. It's not fresh grassy green, nor fully dried. Somewhere in between. Very soothing.
  17. Such a lovely scent! I don't think I have experience with larkspur before, and I think that's what's making this scent difficult to describe. I get a light pink rose and honey, but overtop another floral that's just gorgeous and breezy. The orris is thankfully not making everything musty!

    Thirteen (13): May 2022

In the imp this is a very fruity sugar with a cocoa tinge. On my skin it get almost syrupy with a good dribble caramel. The rose sugar keeps jumping out here and there as well. It eventually settled into a cocoa dusted pastry place. Delicious!

    Horn of Benediction

In the imp this is a crisp, clean incense. Incense with a warm, slightly salty musk from the ambergris. The sage and aquatic notes are giving a clean freshness to it. On my skin it is much smokier, the vetiver at the front now. But it doesn't get too harsh, just a light smoke over the sandalwood and incense. The sage and aquatic notes are detectable, but just barely.

I Am As Lyght As Byrde In Bowe

There's something lightly autumnal about this blend to me the imp. There's a freshness from the sage, but something about the cinnamon and patch makes me think autumn. On my skin the sage is even more prominent and the blend is overall much fresher and has a clean edge to it. I can pick out a bit of vanilla but the notes blend very well.
  21. On sniffing my head says Christmas. I definitely get the tomato, but I get a lot of cedar and I think the freshness of the tomato freshens the cedar. It's not dry pencil shavings cedar, but like the fresh boughs my mom put up everywhere during the holidays. On my skin I feel basically the same. I get more patchouli grounding everything but the way the tomato and cedar meld just makes me think of my childhood home at Christmas. Honestly probably getting a bottle just for the nostalgia! If I try to wrench my scent memories away, I would describe it as a fresh yet somewhat rugged scent. There's a sun-warmed quality, and yet the tomato domesticates it somewhat. You're outside, but like where someone is growing tomatoes, not the middle of a remote forest.

    Come Unto These Yellow Sands

In the imp it is a cloud of lilac to me. Sweet, slightly waxy. On my skin it is more lavender and violet, but the lilac is still hanging in there. It stays a good mix but eventually the violet takes over, as it wants to do on me. I had hope with so many flowers it would be kept in check but alas! The salt does keep the sweetness of the violet from going wonky on me at least.

    Tuberose, Melon, and Mandarin

This one mad me feel giddy upon smelling in the decant. Mellow melon with an almost fizzy mandarin over the top. It smells like summer as a kid, so carefree. On my skin it's less fizzy, but the balance is similar. The tuberose is starting to give some light headiness but is very much in the background, it just makes the scent slightly more grown up, along with a slight bitterness from the orange. Grown up but still fun. Delightful summer blend.
  24. Super juicy plum in the decant, a really incredible plum. On my skin the plum is most prominent, lifted with a fresh green tea. As it dries the jasmine finally peaks out on me, it's heady and sweet and melds into the plum. An absolutely stunning trio!

    Cucumber, Lime, and Freesia

Juicy, cool, with a bit of a bite. The cucumber makes up the scent in the decant with a bite of lime zest, tart and a bit bitter. The freesia is just sort of breezy around it. It stays fairly true on my skin with the lime and freesia sticking around more prominently as it wears.
