    Somnus

This is a very potent lavender on me. I couldn't test if it worked because the potency just overwhelmed me, and I ended up washing it off. Oh well, off to find some other BPAL bedtime scents!

    Malice

I got this as a frimp, and it has all the things I wouldn't usually pick or my skin wouldn't like (which is a part of the fun of frimps!). This was okay in the bottle and better on the skin, but overall still not a combination I am a fan of. I think I need more florals or fruits to balance spicy scents like this.

    Medea

I really like the florals and cypress in this, but unfortunately my skin amps the myrrh and overwhelms the florals and cypress. Otherwise, it is blended beautifully (if my skin didn't hate myrrh).

    Goblin

Oh, I liked this at first. Wet it was all coconut and dirt on me which seemed apt for "black coconut" (which I have no idea how that smells), but then the benzoin starts to show and it becomes medicinal on me, campho phenique, ick!

    A Countenance Forboding Evil

These sort of head shop scents don't seem to like my skin. Oh well, lesson learned. I ordered a BPAL imp lot on Ebay so I could play around and learn and this is what I have learned. Like several other viewers have said, each note is very distinguishable and prominent, but it's just not for me.

    Veil

Very purple flowers like many others have said, but I am starting to think that I may not like violets though I like most florals. The violet is pretty prominent in this which yay if you are a violet person, but otherwise not for me.

    Grand Guignol

I got this as a frimp from a decant circle. I often like apricot/peach scents so I thought this would be obvious for me, but it was just kind of blah, single note for me. I like the complexity of BPAL scents, and while I appreciate how this one really smells like apricot brandy, it's just really not for me.

    Grog

Well, I just learned I don't like rum. This reminds me of a Buttery Nipple shot. I hate those. Very boozy on me.

    Inferno

I got this as a frimp from a decant circle. I have been testing a lot of different BPAL imps right now, learning what I do and don't like, or what my skin does or doesn't like regardless of what I like. I have found that I do like cinnamon when it is less prominent which is not the case here. However, I hate almond scents, and I was surprised to find that the cinnamon prevented this from going straight to almond hate on me.

    Siren

I got this as a frimp with an Ebay order, and while I figured it would be a shoe-in with the ginger, the jasmine ruins it for me. The ginger is a very strong, heady fresh ginger like when you bite right into it which doesn't mesh well (on me) with a heady floral like jasmine. However, my Mom liked it so I gave her the imp.

    Penthus

I got this with an Ebay imp lot I purchased. My skin really seems to amp incense, I get some of the rose and salty tears, but mainly muddled incense. What a bummer, but I do still want to try more salt, aquatic scents...just ones sans incense.

    Jester

I received this in an Ebay imp lot - it's exciting as a BPAL newbie to get to try discontinued scents. I really liked this in the bottle, but on me, it is super sweet berries and it just gets worse as it dries. This was actually the first BPAL I had to wash off. I feel like I have crossed a BPAL milestone!

    Goneril

I got this in an Ebay imp lot. Cedarwood can go medicinal on me pretty quick, but the florals in this prevent that. It definitely fits the description of a gentle floral bouquet with a black heart. Interesting, but the cedarwood is still too iffy on me. To the swap box.

    Erato

Le sigh. I got this in an imp lot I purchased on Ebay. Scents like myrrh and ylang ylang can go iffy on me, and while the rose (which my skin loves) helped, this was still amped myrrh on me. I suppose I will have to avoid myrrh from now on.

    Eos

This scent at least taught me that it is not jasmine that my skin hates, but honeysuckle. My skin really, really hates honeysuckle, doesn't matter what it is blended with. Oh well, I learned something about my own skin chemistry. I like florals, but I think such heady florals as jasmine AND honeysuckle also just overwhelm me.

    Azathoth

I got this as an imp with an Ebay imp lot, along with several other spicy scents. I am quickly learning they are very iffy on me. Sometimes, I find with some BPAL's that the wet is so pungent for me that I don't care how good the drydown is, I cannot get past the scent when it is wet. This would be one of those. Wet on me this is all citrus which the vetiver and cedarwood team up with and are like CITRUS CLEANING SUPPLIES, yeah!

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

I really wanted to like this scent, I mean Baudelaire, c'mon! But this was just sweet, sweet, sweet on me. The gardenia would sometimes pop up, but it was mostly vanilla and candied violet. After trying some other violets, I am thinking violet may be temperamental with me. Ultimately, on me, this scent ended up more sweet than floral, and I really wanted floral.

    Ahathoor

Well, this is confirming what I am quickly realizing - that labdunam gets weirdly, chemical on me. I lean in and smell dry spices, but light, not heavy spices, then my skin amps the labdanum and it gets chemical which the incense does not help - it like burns my nostrils. That is how much my skin hates what I think is labdunam (not amber because amber gets a little softer on me, but when it is labdunam specifically, it seems to go bad).

    Skuld

Labdanum is not a scent my skin seems to like, it seems to amp it. I smell the honey and ylang ylang and the musks, but then the labdanum keeps sneaking in and making this so weird on me.

    Pele

Oh, this is now on my list of top scents for summer. Love the tropical, hothouse florals with the spicy ginger kick. I am going to have to explore more ginger scents now. I got this as an imp from a lot I bought on Ebay and have been doing tests over the Winter Break while I am off work. I am going to come back to this in the summer!

    Hades

On me, this goes to grandma, of course my grandma was Catholic so it's florals meets church incense. It is hard for me to reconcile that with Hades, I expected something darker. Nope, not for me.

    Czernobog

Like many other people, this was all lemon pledge/lemon cleaner on me. I tried to hold out on the drydown, and it did get a little better, but I just couldn't get past the initial lemon cleaner scent. I got it in an Ebay imp lot so not a big loss here.

    Catch Me, Dad

I got a decant of this, and then I missed the deadline for buying a bottle, and I wish I would have because this is a top summer scent for me. The dirt, sun, wildflowers - all swirling in lavender. It's such a beautiful scent, and the first one that really turned me on to dirt and earth smells.

    Once Upon a Time

*sobs* I got this from a Lilith decant circle, and love, love, love at as my bedtime scent, but I missed the date before the Liliths went down so I didn't get a bottle! I loved the herby lavender with a touch of vanilla, it just made me feel so snuggly and happy. Okay, as a BPAL newbie, I have learned my lesson about finding BPAL/BTPT LEs that I love. Until then, I see people mentioning TKO a lot as their bedtime scent. I tried Somnus, but it was too lavender for me. I liked the touch of vanilla and softness in OUAT.

    Statistically Favorite Scent

I am currently on Winter Break and have been spending each morning testing like crazy and taking lots of notes. I have found that breaking down by stats isn't all that helpful for me because blending makes such a difference. For example, I thought I didn't like jasmine, but one of my favorite scents, Wilde, has jasmine. After some testing, I realized it really depends on what jasmine is blended with, AND I tend to like night-blooming jasmine which is actually not a jasmine and in a totally different family (in the potato family as opposed to jasmine which is in the olive family). I did learn I generally can't stand honeysuckle, especially in combination with jasmine. I have also learned I really like dirt smells which was news to me.
