    Euterpe

Imp: Soap. I am scared to wear this. The more floral blends I try, the more scared of them I become. Wet: Still soapy, but the floral in this is coming out with a bit of musk. It's also kind of sweet and powdery. Dry: Soapy floral, but I think I'm picking out the carnation. There also seems to be something giving it some kick, but I don't know what. Final Thoughts: Sweet and pretty, but I just don't think it's my style. So far, this has been the most kind to me, of the florals. I just don't see myself reaching for this in the morning.

    All Night Long

Imp: Sharp ginger. Spicy for sure. Wet: Cinnamon? Mint? Something herbal? Nutty? Dry: Cinnamon power, but later it also had a very nice earthy, almost soil-like, thing going on. The boy said it was kinda woody. A really nice layer within the scent. Final Thoughts: Well, I'm not sure I'm into anything voodoo, but some excitement did happen in the bed. My only warning would be for sensitive skin types: this turned my skin red and blotchy where applied. It eventually faded and there was no burning sensation, but just so you know. I like it. I dig cinnamon and the earthy undertones were very pretty. I'll keep the imp for now and see how it develops.

    Sugar Cookie

Revisited! ‘The Devil’s Bake Sale’ has come back to town. I'm not sure which version I got to test, but holy cow is it good. I'm not detecting any cinnamon, so I think it might be the 2005 version. In the imp: Vanilla frosting, straight out of the can. Oh my god sweet and oh so delicious smelling. Yum! Wet: More of the same, but with some nutmeg or something. A nice warm baking scent, still with all the yummy frosting. Dry: Cookies!! Snicker-doodle cookies. Sweet, still the lingering frosting thing going on, but mostly warm cookies, fresh out of the oven. I want to eat my arm. Final thoughts: Foody lovers will LOVE this. I so wish I was around to horde bottles bottles of this, because it's spectacular. Wow.

    Cockaigne

This sounded delightful from the start for me. Imp: Spicy caramel...a strong buttery note, but sweet, and with a bakery spice. Yummy! Wet: Pretty much the same, but less buttery. The wine is pretty strong in this stage, but not so much so that I regret putting it on (I don't like wine). I can be patient. Dry: A sweet, slightly vanilla, but lovely spice cake. The wine hangs in the background, giving it just a litttle twang, but it's not overpowering and it's gorgeous. Final Thoughts: YUM!!! This is great. I stays on for a long time, it's sweet, but not overly so. Gorgeous. Bigger bottle for me.

    Nyx

This was a frimp from the lab with my first order. In the bottle: FLOWERS. I'm not especially good with flowers, so I couldn't really pick anything out, but boy is it strong. Wet: More of the same, but I get whiffs of the jasmine and rose. Dry: Flowers and more flowers. It's not too overpowering once dry, so a floral type person would probably like this. Final thoughts: I loved the night blooming jasmine in Thalassa, so I thought maybe this one would work out for me, but I just don't think I'm a floral person. I can't tell one apart from another.

    Siren

Imp: A little spicy and woody. Not at all what I was expecting. Wet: Woody and fruity, a slight sweetness in the background. This one changed a lot on me as it dried. I got a nice raw coconut meat thing going for a few minutes, not the artifical stuff, but the real thing. This got sweeter and sweeter with more time, but not sickeningly so. Dry: A very well balanced fruit (apparently apricot) and floral (maybe I don't hate jasmine?), with a clean kick of ginger. Really really nice. I can't stop sniffing myself and I like it more and more each time. Final thoughts: Very nice. This was one of the orginal scents that caught my attention here and I'm excited to see that it worked so well. Also, the boyfriend liked this one.

    La Belle au Bois Dormant

Imp: Sweet and pretty floral. Wet: Reminiscent of orchids for some reason, but nice anyway. Dry: Very soft and femine. Final thoughts: Where did it go?? Not 30 minutes later it was gone! If it lasted longer, I'd be more excited, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

    Twilight

Imp: WHOA! flowers!! Lavender, especially. I almost choked on it. Wet: Still lavender and it's way too much for me. I wanted throw, but this is really unpleasant on me. Dry: More of the same, never changing. Later: Kinda powdery feeling, but still overpowered with lavender. Final thoughts: This was one of the first scents that piqued my interest, but now that I'm getting to know the place, I think lavender and I should never come in contact. So sorry. More for someone else to love!

    Juliet

In the bottle: flowers, tinged with pear. Wet: Flowers and soap. Dry: Bathroom soap from a restaurant. That pink gel stuff. Final Thoughts: Clean, but not me. I never want to be associated with a bathroom.

    Dragon's Milk

I thought this was the only of the Dargon's Blood blends that sounded nice. It's overwhelmingly popular and it has vanilla. I figured I couldn't go wrong. Oh I was wrong. In the bottle: So nice!! Spicy, but not in the cinnamon sense, with a underlying sweetness. I couldn't wait to slather it on. Wet: What happened!?! Grape. Artificial grapes. Yuck. Dry: Powder. Not baby powder, but still powder. =/ I do not like this. It smells so exquisite in the imp, but my chemistry destroyed it. *sigh* Someone, somewhere, will love this, but it's not me.

    The Hesperides

MMm...this another nice one! In the bottle: Apples, apples, and more apples. Wet: Fresh apples and some really nice soothing floral notes. Very nice. Dry: Pretty much the same as before, this scent didn't morph at all. I just wish it lasted longer. I only got 4 or 5 hours out of it. Final thoughts: I'm keeping the imp for sure! So pretty!

    Saw-Scaled Viper

This is heaven! I'm sort of doing this backwards though, as I've never tried snake oil, but I'm sure I'll like it when I get to it. In the bottle: Sharp, raw ginger and cinnamon. Like whoa. It smelled up the entire room. Wet: Red hot cinnamon with ginger in the background. As it was wet, it left red marks on my wrists and neck, but they went away. (everything makes my skin rash.) Dry: Mmmm....cinnamon and vanilla heaven!! I get whiffs of it and it is so good. I can't stop smelling myself! An hour or so later: Dusty, spicy vanilla. Almost muksy, but not. So sexy. I'm getting a bigger bottle of this for sure. Sweet, spicy, sexy lovers: this is a must try/have!!

    Bewitched

I got this as a frimp in my first decant circle order. In the bottle: Sage and incense. Wet: Less sage, but still kinda incensed and maybe some musk? Dry: Sweeter, I think this might be the berry coming through, but not overly so. A really nice balance. I get a nice green feel too. Final thoughts: I got compliments on this one! I wasn't expecting it be my style, but it's really nice. I haven't decided on upgrading this one or not, but I will surely wear it again. Mmm.

    Jack

I got this as a freebie in my first decant circle. Let me tell you, I LOVE pumpkin. Like whoa. Cakes, breads, pies, candles, and scents, you name it. Jack, however, is not for me. So sad. In the bottle: Popcorn butter. Fake and greasy. NOT buttered popcorn, but the nasty stuff they put on there that makes it taste good and bad for you. Wet: More of the same, but maybe a little spicier. Dry: Cheap candles that I can't place...maybe pumpkin, but a little spicy. Final thoughts: NO ONE that I had smell it, liked it. I was so sad too, cause I LOVE pumpkin everything. I was hoping for that really nice pumpkin bread/pie scent, or the smell of candles being burned in the pumpkin on Halloween night, but no such luck. C'est la vie. I hear that different and possibly better pumpkin scents come out in October. Anyone like those ones?

    Thalassa, the Galapagos Mermaid

My first review of my first BPAL scent! Thalassa....what an intoxicating scent! Very nice. I don't want to get in over my head, but I really think I may go for a larger bottle of this. In the bottle: POW! Pretty strong and pungent, but I get sense of "water". This wasn't as salty as I expected, but that turned out alright. On the skin: Pretty much the same scent, a little more incense-y. Later on the skin: Still very dark and murky - a complex scent for sure - but slightly sweetened! I think the frankincense really compliments the jasmine...a beautiful floral note in this mix. It seemed to stay in this glorious state for many hours. Final thoughts: Wow. Very aquatic. Ocean, but diluted (as one would expect being in a tank exposed to open air...). The mermaid really shines through. This has some nice staying power too: 8 hours for sure. I'll test a few more times, but I think I'm sold. Extra, for fun: Science Discovers how to capture the scent of the sea!
