Hello!
I've been talking about this in some other threads but haven't gotten any answers.
This year I tested Coquelicot Snow & A Lady Tall and White from last years post update. I love them and they did not give me a headache
HOWEVER
I got a lot of snow scent from this year's Yule update and so far all the ones I've tested have given me a headache ( Snow White, Nuclear Winter, Frau Holle ). Is the difference that the post used a different snow note, or do you think it could be that the two I liked were aged for a year? I'm trying to figure out if I should wait a year and retest the rest I have or go ahead and swap. Also, if you have any insight as to which scents have the death snow note and which don't, that would be appreciated!

OBSESSED WITH THIS SCENT.
I love licorice/anise notes and I also love salt licorice, so this scent is everything. It's mainly salt licorice with some leather, and I would say it's gender neutral - it smells like candy but it's not very sweet. The only downside is it tends to fade after a few hours, so it's a 2-3x a dayer.

Vicomte Valmote, classic cologne. Mimics pheremones.
LOVE this on my husband

Kabuki is my sexy scent, the red musk is divinely seductive. I get so many compliments when I wear it as well.

Greetings fellow BPAL enthusiasts,
Does anyone know why most of the amber and incense or resin scents, are drying down to a baby powder scent? I'm new to BPAL but I have been wearing and mixing essential oils for about 23 years. I have never encountered an essential oil or perfume behaving this way on me. I am generally attracted to earthy scents such as, Amber, Patchouli, Nag Champa, Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood and Musk. It's making me sad because each perfume oil smells amazing when I initially put it on. I purchased the Amber Imp collection and everyone except my beloved Brisingamen turns to powder. Midnight Mass, The Sorceress, Snake Oil and All Souls reacts the same way. Is anyone else spending lots of money on liquid baby powder? Can anyone offer some BPAL scent support and recommendations...please?
Sincerely,
SPG
Are they lab fresh or some you bought from forumnites? I have some imps that have been passed around a few years, and those tend to behave similarly to what you described

So this starts off like legit carrot cake,
but after it dries it turns into a pricey spiced holiday gourmand candle, not necessarily in a bad way (I'm looking at YOU Apple Cider).
Then the spices die down a little more and the buttery crust takes the forefront, with a little spice and sweet. It's pretty low-throw and not terribly impressive, but a nice creamy, spicy holiday scent nonetheless.

I am so sad. I had really high hopes for my first bath oil, but I was really let down.
From beginning to end, in the bath and on the skin, this smells like banana flavored Runts. No natural bananas, no cream, no crust. -
Kabuki is AMAZING, the anise and red musk are the most dominant notes on me
-
I just can't get past the typical apple spice candle comparison, all I smell is holiday candle, all the time.

As this was drying down, I got a carcass indeed. It smelled like decay!
But when dry, it turned into a warm, dusty scent. I like it, but it stays very close to the skin, will try slathering next time and hopefully I'll live past the dry down.

Veil is a delicate floral that I would say is a little creamy. It's soooo beautiful, reminds me of an innocent scent from childhood.

You know The body Shop's signature scent? The way the whole store smells when you walk past? That's exactly what Bordello smelled like to me!

Cashmere Mist is very similar to White Rabbit (more so than Morrocco)
-
I kept seeing that Cashmere Mist is similar to Morrocco, but I've found that White Rabbit is a lot closer.

Wow!
After a few hours of dry down, this smells like my beloved Cashmere Mist. It's clean with a little pepper and maybe ginger to spice it up, creamy from the milk, and slightly sweet from the vanilla and honey. I don't get any tea but the acidity could be in there with the pepper.
I really love this and can't stop huffing, it's what I wanted Morrocco to be.

This started out as butterscotch then after a few hours turned into a spicy floral. I put it on my terracotta scent pendant, and it stayed true to butterscotch goodness!

I got an imp of this because of the comparisons to TM Alien... well I am disappointed. If Alien is one of your favorite perfumes I wouldn't buy a bottle of this unsniffed because of the "similarities."
The scent is ok, to me it smells like lime Sweet Tarts with some musk, and dispensers pretty quickly.
I will try again and really slather it on to see if it makes a difference.

Titania (A nocturnal bounty of fae dew-kissed petals and pale fruits: white grape, white peach, iced pear, musk rose, sweet pea, moonflower and snapdragon) is the closest thing I can think of. I haven't tried either Titania or L'eau Cheap and Chic, though.
I read through all the reviews on this, and I don't think it will be close as they say it is fruity and sweet. I think what sets this perfume apart is the unusual base of heliotrope, vetiver & ambergris... which I tried googling to find in one perfume but was unsuccessful. *sigh* one of these days I'm going to need to buy an old bottle before the prices get even more ridiculous! I tried a lot of BPAL with lily and none of them smelled remotely like it.

I got this as a frimp, and unfortunately (for me) it smells exactly like the description
It smells like the bottom of boots that have walked on the decaying leaves and earth of the forest floor at night, and someone left them next to my face while I was sleeping.
It actually started to make me gag within a few minutes and was VERY stubborn about coming off. I coated my wrists with Morrocco to try to cover up the residue. BLEGH

I got this as a frimp, and probably never would have chosen it for myself... but it's so great!
wet: kinda like cherry cough syrup, but not terrible
drying: still cherry but less cough syrup, a tinge of anise
dry: WOW! It smells like intoxicating black liquorice in my cleavage and honey of my wrists, love getting whiffs of it every now and then

I swear this smells just like what green frosted grapes would smell like

At first, it was all sweet artificial strawberry
then it was I'M A CIGARETTE SMOKER WEARING SWEET STRAWBERRY PERFUME and it was making me nauseous
THEN the stale cigarette smell faded and now it smells like strawberry incense, which reminds me of a Tinkerbell lipgloss I had as a child.
I like it, more for the nostalgia than anything.
