  1. White sandalwood, beeswax, clary sage, olibanum, opoponax, violet leaf, and oudh.

Wet on my skin, it smells like light clean sandalwood with an underlying floral. It is very uplifting and almost pure smelling. This has a lot of balance because it doesn't veer towards too much wood or too much floral. There is a very light hint of sweetness and almost a very vague creamy base which I suspect is from the beeswax. This doesn't feel too clingy rather it's like a EDT. It wafts hints of something, simple and pretty, every time I move my arm. As it dries down, I notice more of the wood in that it has more depth and softness. Even with these deeper wood notes showing up now, it still remains very fresh in some way, like you could see through it. This is a good anyday scent. I can imagine wearing this during an interview or around a friend who hates scents. Overall, a beautifully optimistic well rounded scent.

  2. The face of all the world is changed, I think,
Since first I heard the footsteps of thy soul
Move still, oh, still, beside me, as they stole
Betwixt me and the dreadful outer brink
Of obvious death, where I, who thought to sink,
Was caught up into love, and taught the whole
Of life in a new rhythm. The cup of dole
God gave for baptism, I am fain to drink,
And praise its sweetness, Sweet, with thee anear.
The names of country, heaven, are changed away
    For where thou art or shalt be, there or here;
And this …this lute and song…loved yesterday,
(The singing angels know) are only dear
Because thy name moves right in what they say.

    - Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Absinthe accord, opoponax, green cardamom, olibanum, honey, prickly juniper, and rockrose.

This scent is gorgeous and has a presence to it. It is a strong scent but it is not heavy at all. I smell a woodiness and sweetness to it that goes well with my skin chemistry. The wood is mild and not overly masculine. I was somewhat leery of this fragrance because of the Absinthe but it only adds to the brightness of this blend and prevents it from being to much of a skin scent. The honey is beautiful, and is not powdery, and adds some golden sweetness. There is a very mild spiciness and the dry down is beautiful and smooth. I didn't expect this to smell as wonderful as it does, especially as there is a floral in here. But this really stands out to me as something really unique that I could wear often.

  3. I was curious about rose musk and decided to give this one a try.. When first applied this is all pear SN and lovely. I love pear scents and hoped it would stay just like this but of course it didn't. The next scent to appear was the gardenia, very soft and likeable. This would be okay too if it stayed a light gardenia but then the rose made herself known-thankfully not loudly. I amp rose so was surprised that it was so soft. The end result is a muted floral/fruit scent that lasts a long time and isn't unpleasant but not for me.

  4. I was very pleasantly surprised by Cloth of Gold. I normally don't purchase snow or floral scents because they just don't work with my skin chemistry but this just intrigued me. Smelling it in the bottle I was a little worried-the snow note was definitely there and the floral notes were screaming at me. After applying it though, I was amazed at how fresh, cool and soft the floral is, very understated. The green in here is also light-like fern in a forest. This is a well blended oil and I am glad that I tried something I normally wouldn't have.

  5. BLACKBEAR MOON
The bear puts both arms around the tree above her
And draws it down as if it were a lover
And its chokecherries lips to kiss good-by,
Then lets it snap back upright in the sky.
Her next step rocks a boulder on the wall
(She's making her cross-country in the fall).
Her great weight creaks the barbed wire in its staples
As she flings over and off down through the maples,
Leaving on one wire tooth a lock of hair.
Such is the uncaged progress of the bear.
    The world has room to make a bear feel free;
The universe seems cramped to you and me.

In February, black bears give birth to their cubs, nurturing and protecting them as the snow melts, the days grow warmer, and winter gives way to spring. Hazelnuts, acorns, black cherries, wild winter berries, and warm black fur dusted by moonlight, honey, and pine needles.

I received my bottle of Blackbear Moon yesterday. I love Hazelnut and honey and that is the reason why I was so excited about this blend. When I first applied it all I could smell was the hazelnut but as it dried down (half hour) it morphed into a very soft, dreamy scent. I could not detect any honey at all just a lovely sweetness so if you aren't able to wear honey, I would still give this a try with a decant-it is worth it! I didn't ever detect cherries or pine, perhaps the sweetness I got was the berries? A friend can't wear hazelnut at all and she tried this and after the initial dry down loved it and is going to order a bottle of her own. Even after hours of wear I could still smell the soft, musky smell. Blackbear Moon is deep, rich and will age wonderfully! I wish I had ordered another bottle when I placed my Lupercalia order-it is that good! :yum:

  6. Mourning Shroud-this is a beautifully sweet, woodsy scent with a light citrus undertone. The citrus burns off pretty quickly on me and leaves the gorgeous light sandalwood mingles nicely with the almond milk to make this a very smooth and likeable oil. It is very heady with the deep resins staying all day even after eight hours.

  7. I wanted to love this scent but on my skin it smells like cream of corn soup. It is very heavy and lasts a very long time and lingers very cloyingly. It has the same scent as Barleycorn from one of the Halloween blends. The artwork and concept are great, the notes should work on me so I am a bit disappointed that it is disagreeing with my chemistry.

  8. I was very anxious to try a marigold scent-just the thought of what Beth might come up with pretty exciting. I love marigolds and always plant them around my flower gardens-they seem to keep the pesky bugs away from eating the flowers.

To me Flor De Muerto is a bright and golden scent with a touch of spice and sweetness. It is very fragrant without being cloying or overpowering. I normally don't wear floral notes but the spices in it blend well and even it out to the point that you don't notice just the spice or just the floral. It is very well balanced and the longer I have it on the more surprised I am that that it works so well with my skin chemistry. Very good throw, lasts for hours. :)

  9. I was at the Trunk Show when this was released but unfortunately was not able to purchase a bottle then. I was too far back in the line and it had disappeared by the time my number was called. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to purchase it then but hoped that it would be offered again at another Truck Show. It was love at first smell! I love Beth's pumpkin oils, they just get me in the mood for Autumn, Fall and Christmas. Living in Southern CA. there is no change in seasons and I really need these oils to help me along in the change of weather, so to speak. As soon as I saw this on the Halloween Update, I purchased a bottle-I was that excited!

I do notice a difference in the two versions. The Prototype seemed to have more of a Pumpkin flair and more spices in it. It really smelled like a ready to bake Pumpkin Pie right before you popped it into the oven. I really didn't get the Blackberry, but I did get a touch of sweetness from it. The released version is a bit different, not bad, just different. It seems to have less of the pumpkin flavor and be more buttery. I also experienced the red hot candy phase that others went through. I would rather have the allspice, cinnamon, clove, ginger phase because that is what works best with my skin chemistry. The Blackberry juice made an appearance in the middle, but was as fleeting as a ghost, and was non-existing on dry down. It does last a very long time, but only as a red hot buttery candy scent. I am hoping that if it ages a little the Pumpkin will take over and tame the red hots and by the time cool weather comes around I can actually wear it as a Pumpkin scent. If it is still the buttery scent, I may mix it with the Pumpkin Latte Oil and see what I come up with.

  10. This is the first bottle that I ordered in the Halloween update and I was so excited to receive it. It is very strong but it is tempered by the honey and it is one that does last all day. I found that a little bit goes a long way. Brand new the red musk does smell "young" but I believe that in a year it is going to be really fabulous! I am going to purchase another bottle to age and see if I am correct in my assumption. :)

  11. In the bottle all I could smell was cherry and the amaretto. I must admit that I love the smell of cherry but I don't know if I wanted to smell like a tropical drink or a sweet cookie. I tried it on in the hopes that once it mingled with my skin it would morph into something more. The first thing I noticed after I applied it was that I smelled like a candy tootsie pop. It was cherry and caramel and not much else, and that was pretty strong. Ten minutes later though it started to mellow and the coconut came out and decided to play nice with the cherry and amaretto and softened to a delightful summer scent. This turned out to be a very light, soft, and not overly sweet scent.

  12. When I first applied this, it was overwhelmingly tobacco-very strong with the frankincense coming in a close second. The frankincense starts out pretty strong on me but mellows almost immediately into a much softer musky dried incense scent. Over the course of half an hour, the tobacco and frankincense meld together perfectly, soften and join with the wood and bunn and turn slightly sweet on me. I am pleasantly surprised with this scent and out of the few I have purchased so far, it is my favorite.

  13. Ghoul Hooligan smells like dry cocoa powder and raw pumpkin and spices. I don't like the wet stage but it does dry down rather well on me. It isn't an overwhelmingly chocolate scent, really spicy or foody. There is a touch of musk that lingers on dry down with the spices and soft cocoa and makes this all work together nicely. A lovely scent.

  14. In the bottle this has a very light touch-I do smell the white wine spritzer. That all disappears though when I applied to to my wrist. It did turn into a boozy smell, almost with a yeast smell to it after 30 minutes or so. Some spices came out too, I'm not sure it it is my skin chemistry or Mountain of Bone, but I like what it turns into, not what it was when I first tried it. I also can detect a woodsy note to it too with a very light floral (not too much-just right). This really is a beautiful scent that I believe will be very popular.

  15. Jerusalem cherry infused honey.

I was expecting a sweet soft cherry scent with this oil. No cherry, no honey, just straight green viney scent on me. I was really surprised in my research to learn that Jerusalem Cherry is closely related to the cherry tomato and that was after I applied it.! I thought it would morph into a sweet scent like the Yew Oil did, no such luck.

When I was younger I spent the summer trying to earn extra money by picking tomatoes from a local rancher. My hands, nails and arms smelled exactly like this for weeks! This is this exact smell of the rich green tomato vines. I don't know if it is because I have bad memories of my picking days that I can't get past because this is the first time I have ever had to wash off an oil. If you are a gardener you will probably love this.

  16. Yew berry infused honey.

In the bottle this smells very bitter, but once I applied it on my skin it really changed into something beautiful. I get a little bit of evergreen (not much) and a touch of sweetness and a spiciness that I love in my oils. It does constantly change over time and mellows and I do find myself sniffing my arm time and time again. The honey/sweetness and evergreen fades completely on me and I am left with a simple light, gorgeous spicy scent. LOVE

  17. In the bottle I could definitely smell the machine oil, but not in a bad way at all. On me, it smells like a suede/raw soft leather and a man musk-this is a gorgeous scent and very me. I don't notice too much tobacco just an impression of light smokiness. After half an hour or so the machine oil peeks out and plays around with the other notes, but doesn't stay for long.

This is a sexy scent and reminds of a mechanic who just crawled out from under the car covered in car juice, radiating musky sweat, with the sun's heat amplifying the smell of the cars leather interior. :)

  18. This is a soft sweet peach scent with the vanilla amber making itself known right away. I love vetiver but I really don't detect much of that at all, I think in this case it is used to sweeten and soften the oil and bring out the scents of the other notes. It has a dry resiny presence that I really enjoy.

After wearing it since Bat's Day yesterday, I could still smell a trace of it this morning. The Prototype is much stronger and sharper but I think I much prefer the final version that I purchased.

  19. This smells very light and softly sweet in the bottle.

On the skin it smells medicinal.

On drydown it is beautifull spicy and sweet. The cinnamon is not strong and blends well with the creaminess of this oil. I'm glad I picked up two bottles.

  20. On my skin this is a soft, salty chocolate with a touch of incense and grass/kelp. It is very light and does last a long time. I applied it around noon and when my husband came home around seven he could still smell it (he really liked it). This isn't a cologne, it isn't perfumey either. The chocolate blends are sometimes a hit or miss with me because of the sweetness of them. Since this isn't sweet on me, it works well.

  21. In the Bottle, Sweet Life smells all Gardenia and Pikaki. On, it lightens up but it is very floral but not annoyingly so. It is not a dainty Spring floral but more of a thick, heady floral but very feminine. I am really not a floral person but I do like Beth's Gardenia and Pikaki scents. I can't smell any ylang but the lily shows itself after about half an hour. The lily is very soft and adds a sweetness to this blend. This scent lasted all day and just faded a little.

I really like this and any of you floral lovers will too.
