  1. ... Our Dead Man’s Hand is the quintessential western scent: dusty rawhide and oiled leather.

    Ohmygod.

I sniffed this, and immediately I was on horseback. I could hear the creaking of the saddle, feel the reins in my hands. Just that smell of well - worn leather.. but not just leather.. it's like dusty leather that I associate with tack rooms and horseback and when I was much younger and rode in horse shows.

And I only have an imp. Must. Get. More.

  2. Wow.. wet, I smell light, soft, comforting buttery warm creamy notes. Oh it's yummy. And it stays true to wet when it dries - the only complaint I have is that it fades REALLY quickly which is gonna make me want to have to slather this on.

Gotta find a bottle now. This is amazing!

  3. Holy shit.. this is what I was wanting dublin to be! Green, flowery, lush and misty .. It's what I imagine the perfect celtic scent to be. As it sits on me, it just gets sweeter and greener and one of the most beautiful florals I have ever smelled. WOW.

    Wow.

  4. oh hello mint julip...

This reminds me of the Kentucky Derby, of sweet old ladies and their mint julips in their big hats at the races.. it's perfect and minty and I do have to say that I pretty much adore anything in mint that Beth creates.

  5. ok on first whiff I get banana and tropics. I'm thinking good, right?

    Not so much.

Because then there's that scent -- that "eww" scent in the background. I don't know what it is, but my skin makes it turn rancid. But it's like icky - over - fruity stuff.. I want to love it -- really, I do! But I don't think it's going to work at all.

  6. First sniff - Holy minty goodness.. I have not smelled anything with mint that I did not like.

on me - The mint and the greener notes mesh perfectly, and as it dries down I can detect the faintest lemony citrus note in the background - just enough to make you go "ooh" but so much that my skin makes it lemony pledge. Mmm.

    This is a definite keeper.

  7. OMG yum.

In the bottle : spicy cidery pumpkiny - like I'm having a slice of pumpkin pie and apple cider.

On me: Wow the pumpkin is the strong note on my skin, like a warm gooey slice of pumpkin pie... This is true autumn.. As it dries, it becomes more cinnamony - This is pure heaven and I wish that I could just smell it .. like, forever. I need a gallon bottle of this now. :P

  8. Shattered

In the bottle - minty. My nose can always pick out mint.

On me - minty citrusy.. as it dries down the aquatic blooms make an appearance.. but it never really loses the citrusy minty goodness. I love it!

Impressions: Sharp like shattered glass, indeed.

  9. Vanilla, violet, and gardenia.

They blend together to make a light, sweet, heavenly scent. I do like this, I'm not sure if it'll get a big bottle, but I will keep the imp and sniff occasionally. :P

I am continually amazed at how such different scents blend so well together!

  10. OMG. I just had a smellgasm.

In the bottle, I knew this was going to be a good one; sweet, fruity, complex .. mmm..

On me, it exceeds my wildest expectations. Now at this point in the day I'm down to dabbing on the insides of my fingers to sniff, and I must look funny with my finger stuck up to my nose. But my freaking god, it's AMAZING!

    :D :D :D :P :D

  11. This is definitely a heavy floral thing.. Both in the bottle and on me. It's strong, and will probably be best used with a carrier oil. I smell gardenia for sure, but I can't quite make out the other florals. I think it might be a little too heavy for what I like to wear.. but it's nice for florals :P

  12. In the bottle: Holy crap! I love that fresh fresh sting of mint as I hold my nose to the bottle. Wearing this is going to be FUN!

On me: Wow. It's rum, it's mint, it's what I was wanting spooky to be on me but didn't - it's delicious mint, sweet candy, and boozy rumness altogether. Oh my, oh my, I'm so glad I got some of this. Yum yumyumyumyum

  13. The Storm Moon marks the darkest portion of the year. A season of long, impenetrable nights and turbulent tempests. A raging, electric and wet scent: slashing rain notes, rolling thunder, and sharp, cold winds layered by a breath of softly wafting lunar incense, a hint of Luna’s blooms, and the brittle herbs of winter.

    Yeah. I love storm scents.

Before, I said that Thunderbird reminded me of Yankee Candle's storm watch. It does, but Storm Moon is that x a billion.

Storm Moon is Thunderbird's older, bolder brother. The one that will kick your ass if you make fun of Thunderbird.

The ozone is the star in this blend, and I have to admit that I love that sharp tang. I'm very very in love with this scent, and will cherish it always.

  14. Spooky. Spooky, spooky, spooky. My god. Pepperminty, chocolatey, buttery sweet goodness smelling like an andes mint ... Why does my skin make you wonky? WHY does my skin make you smell so different? Why must I only burn you in an oil burner, or wear you in a scent locket? Because your beautiful, in-the-bottle heavenly scent must be enjoyed, unfortunately my body hates me and doesn't want me to be smelling like thin mint heaven. Oh, I will have my revenge. I *will* have my revenge..

In summation -- this is the most beautifully decadent chocolatey buttery mint scent I have ever smelled, and I just want to strap the bottle to my nose so I never have to stop smelling it.

  15. Oh this is nice. I haven't tried many dragon's blood blends, save dragon's milk - and this one is a bit sharper. It's not a sweet powder like the milk was, it reminds me of .. red. Crimson. With some kind of red berry in the background.. IT's so complex, but it's so nice and this one will be a keeper. I wasn't sure when I first sniffed it, but the longer it's on, the more I know I need to keep this imp.

  16. In the bottle: Light and sweet. Yum, I can't wait to put this on!

On me: Oh delight! I am cheered! OMG It's fruit, sweet, it's not the sugary fruity sweetness of jailbait, it's like a pure childlike fruity sweet. It's divine, and I'll be buying a bigger bottle of this. It has great staying power too!

THANK YOU LAB For this freebie! I've not usually been keen on the voodoo scents, but this is the FIRST that I have fallen in love with!

  17. I didn't particularly get EVIL from this. I got grapefruit, like a grapefruit spritzer kind of drink.. and it was yum. so I put it on... and it was kinda like grapefruit peel, not completely grapefruit..

I had sniffed this once a long time ago and sat it aside.. Now I like it and shall add this imp to my keeper collection.

  18. In the bottle: Bitter and sharp. heavy on the vetiver and spice, close to juniper yet not as .. junipy.

on me: (wet) It is very middle-easterny spicy on me, and it gives me a bit of a headache. (dry) it turns more sweet spicy, everything seems to mingle and calm down once it is dry on my skin, but the wet phase is hard to live through on my body. Not one for me, but it is a very interesting complex mix of smells.

  19. Chaos LXXXII

In the bottle: Pure sugar. Sticky sweet (from my head, to my feet yeah!). Wow, it's like a big cherry lollipop...

On me: It reminds me a lot of jailbait, without the perfume, which never really came out on me anyway. It's sugary and super cherry... I feel like I spilled some cherry kool aid on me or something.. but it smells sooooo good. I want to lick my arm.

One thing I did notice about this is that it faded rather quickly.. but was quite strong in smell when first applied. :/ I like though! It's very sweet and cute.

  20. I never knew how much I really adored mint until smelling undertow. It's not just mint though. It's fresh, green mint, with the juniper adding just the right .. I don't know, freshness to it.

It was a wonderful way to start my day today.

  21. I'll tell you what sucks, is discovering a new allergy.

Especially when you have figured out you love the scent.

I sniffed snake oil, and loved it, so I slathered it on. I spent the next day with swollen and watery eyes, red splotchy skin, and pretty much being in misery - now this coincided with a shift in the weather so I tried it again (only less slathery) and had the same affect.

I was very disappointed, because I loved it. I've always lived with pretty severe allergies though - Beth's creations are the best things I've been able to wear really.
