In the bottle: cream cheese frosting!!! Wet: I'm kind of reminded of Beaver'versary, it has a cakey element + cream cheese. I don't really get any of the SO, Dorian, or Doc Constantine while it's wet. Drying/dry: Ah, now some of the Dorian is creeping in, but it's adding a tea and musk (and a bit of lemon) element underneath the cake that boosts it rather than detracting. Aaaand there's the spice from the SO. Nice. Not overpowering. All in all, it's cake and cream cheese frosting with a bit of other stuff mixed in. Love!

in the bottle: *sniff* hmmm *sniff* I cant pick anything out. It's good though! Wet: ahhhhh, tangerine! yum! And something that smells vaguely aquatic. Drying/dry: yup, mostly a tangerine that seems a bit creamy with some other, unidentifiable (to me) stuff underneath. All in all, it's very light and unobtrusive. The sort of scent that you'd imagine carried on a breeze that you can just barely pick out from the surrounding smell of air. (Did that make any sense? I'm quite tired ) Love!

This is very much Mme. Moriarty lite for me! In the bottle it's fruity coconut but once it's on my skin it's nice soft musk with fruity and spicy/incense-y overtones. Definitely reminiscent of Mme. Moriarty in the type of spice and the way it blends with the fruit. And think, if it's this good now, how good will it be aged.

Kona, Sumatra, Kenya..etc. How do you like them roasted? Do you like flavors, such as hazelnut, vanilla, etc. in your coffee? Type of beans doesn't matter to me. I haven't had enough experience with different kinds of coffee to have a preference on this matter. (though peaberry coffee is really, really good!) The first thing that came to mind when I saw your post was Maiden. A gentle vision of purity, goodness and virtue: white tea, carnation and Damask Rose. It doesn't work on my skin because of the rose but it might be light enough for your class. And I think the name is pretty non-threatening.

I have discovered (thanks to Dark Alice, the bestest coffee elf ever!) that Peaberry coffee is delicious. I'm starting to really wish I had a BPAL shirt... so as to better facilitate the finding of other BPALers. Not that I expect my witch to get me one, they're kind of expensive. I know what's going on my Christmas list. I wish I knew how to crochet or knit. I've been loving my collection of rocks and stone lately. It makes me want to add more shineys! The only rock I really don't like is malachite. Twilight and I don't get along.

I got a generous sniffie of this from Catseyes. In the imp: orange!! Wet on my skin: more like orange peel now. Or orange plus something else. It kind of reminds me of Xiuhtecuhtli (which I love!) Drying: sweet orange. I've never smelled candied orange peels but I imagine this is what they smell like. The 'something else' is gone now. Dry: purely sweet orange with maybe the suggestion of something I can't pin down underneath. I like it!

Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? A lot of times the fallback "we don't have any food" meal is pasta with a mixed veggie (whatever we have) sauce-type thing with olive oil and garlic. Magic, to me, is when a person directs his or her energy towards a certain purpose. And I suppose I believe that how people concentrate their energy can have an impact. I used to play FFXI but when I realized that $12 a month was almost a full bottle of BPAL I stopped. I was never all that into it anyway. Is anyone playing this round of SW into ABJ? Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. Which items do you choose? Whhoooo, that's a tough question. Maybe some CDs of music I like and some of my favorite stones. A bunch of favorite books. An, of course, something having to do with BPAL and the forum. You all are a big part of my life. (That sounds kinda pathetic, huh? )

In the imp: chokingly heavy burnt sugar Wet on my skin: more of the same. Very heavy and sweetish burnt sugar. No strawberry jelly, no cakeish notes... Drying/dry: Still burnt sugar with maybe just the tiniest hint of something vaguely strawberry drowning in all the burnt, sticky mess.. I was really hoping to like it too. Strawberry filled donut sounds like a lovely thing to smell like. *sigh* off to the swap pile.

I got a very generous decant of this in a PIF from Catseyes so a review is in order! In the imp this smells very similar to Antikythera Mechanism to me. Teak is a big player and I'm pretty sure I smell tobacco. Once it's on my skin it warms up and gets a bit of sweetness to it. At this stage it's a spicy-sweet blend with a big helping of teak. It stays pretty true through the drydown. Once it's fully dry it gets a sort of sandy, earthy note to it. I think it's patchouli I'm smelling. In the far drydown the sweetness intensifies and it gets a sort of creamy feel to it. I agree that it smells like a relative of Glowing Vulva with the teak/spice/creamy sweetness combo. In any case, it's a beautiful blend and I will be hoarding my partial decant.

In the imp: herbs and spices Wet on my skin: more of the same. Getting a bit spicier. There's an impression of heat in this scent. Drying/dry: It's very hard to make out individual notes in this blend. I can smell clove and maybe cinnamon. (It's not burning my skin though! Hurray!) It's mostly very spicy and herbaly smelling with a little bit of dry green smell. (Wow, could I be any less helpful?) Hmmm, it's nice but not omgamazing! Herbal and spicy scents just aren't really my thing.

2008 version. Received from the lovely Babette in a swap. In the bottle and wet on my skin this is waaaaay floral. The rose is coming out fighting and I'm afraid I'm going to have to swap it because rose and I usually do NOT get along. but, after a few minutes the florals calm down and this scent become a sweet incense-y blend with a slight hint of flowers underneath that's just gorgeous. There is a hin of sweet fruits if I concentrate, but mostly sweet incense... I love i and I forsee this bottle getting lots of use.

Oh man. Why haven't I tried this before? This is De Sade leather (De Sade is nothing but raw leather on me) but just a touch sweet (which sounds weird but is actually amazing), with just the barest hints of other things in the background. I can juuuuuust barely detect a hint of "green" if I sniff really hard but mostly it's just the musky leather and teensy bit of sweetness. This. Is. Awesome.

Okay this is a silly question but is Ivanushka pronounced like: EE-vanushka or EYE-vanushka.

So does #20 Love Oil what I mean to say is, it works on me... even though I think it's supposed to be an enticement.

What's that you say? There's jasmine in this and it's not totally overwhelming everything else and turning the whole thing into a huge screaming floral mess on my arm that gives me a headache? Oh. Well alright then. Siren is actually pleasantly sweet and... zingy. Effervescent I suppose. I tested without looking at the notes and I guessed orange blossom and vanilla. I was kinda close I guess. I'm guessing the ginger is what's giving it the zing. So yeah. Fruity, a touch floral and zingy!

To me, this smells like a lighter version of Depraved. Peaches and patchouli. I can smell a bit of amber hanging out in there but mainly, peach and patchouli are the stars. It's very light and golden feeling, while Depraved is heavy and dark. It's like the other side of the same coin. I'm sort of up in the air about if they're different enough to need both...

Oh Chimera! Why have you turned against me! You didn't give me any kind of reaction before, but today you gave me itchy, burny red welts on my wrists and elbows where I applied. I'm thinking cinnamon-induced but it used to be one of the few cinnamon blends that behaved. *sigh* Maybe it's just ? But this is the time when I should be most balanced and my skin chemistry should be most stable. cinnamon... I love how spicy you smell but you burn me so...

In the imp: chocolate covered cherry Wet on my skin: sweet orange, a bit of cherry and just a light dusting of sweet cocoa powder Drying: Still heavy on the orange, and kind of powdery. The cocoa and cherry are all but gone. I still like it, even though it’s very different in scent and in overall feeling from what it first was. Dry: More of the same. I do like it though… Maybe I should try this at another time during the month?

In the bottle and wet on my skin this is a bit perfume-y and floral for my tastes. As it dries it the throw morphs into a lovely golden vanilla amber scent. If I sniff too close it's still a little perfume-y and slightly headache-inducing but the throw is worth it... I can see why this is so popular.
