Let me just preface this review by saying I find this scent sexy as hell. It's kind of... odd. And I'm not sure that everyone would consider it a sexy scent but I certainly do! (It also kind of has a scent memory of the beach for me because I took an imp of it to the beach with me one year but that's beside the point ) In the bottle it's very herby and green with a hint of orange. Wet on my skin it stays pretty much the same. The orange blossom comes out a bit stronger along with juuuuust a hint of clove. The clove never gets very strong for me at all. Drying down it stays herby and green with the orange blossom giving the scent a hint of sweetness. Love it, love it, love it! I don't usually love herbal scents overly much but for some reason I just can't get enough if this one. I am so glad I got a bottle just before it got discontinued!

If I were to make an order right now: A BPAL order would include bottles of WILF (if it's still live?) each of the Riders (Red, Black, White) and The Antikythera Mechanism. Possibly definitely another backup of War. (I'm kind of freaking out about my GC discons right now ) Maybe another each bottle of Celeste and Spanked (I have a TP order with a bottle of each coming but I tested them at a MnS recently and they're even better than I expected!) What level of nudity are you fine with on items?: Nudity itself doesn't bother me at all, neither do curse words or "dirty" words (with a few exceptions). It is the situation of the nudity that might bother me. Like... sending me a Hustler might not please me too much but on the other hand I looooove pin-up art. I know the ?airre asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale?: Yes! Use your judgment on the level of used-ness. And I want to expand upon my used books answer: I looooove used books! I do get a little picky about marks and highlighting inside them though. In novels it kind of annoys me if there is underlining/highlighting/other marks inside. Cover wear, outside marking (within reason), yellowing, age wear, etc. that’s all good. Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I am a coffee fiend! Seriously. Lately I’ve been getting bags of flavored coffee from Target (their brand is Archer Farms) and they’re surprisingly good! My favorite is Cinnamon Vanilla Nut but I’ve tried the Chocolate Truffle and Chocolate Fudge Brownie and they are good! (I also tried their French Vanilla but I prefer other brands vanilla flavors) I also like just regular coffee. Lighter roasts are better. I really like Dunkin' Donuts coffee actually. I like hot chocolate a lot as well. Tea is good but I really prefer coffee. Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Chocolate covered pretzels! OMG! I also really like ginger chews (that's what those ginger chewy thingies are called right?) In just regular and flavors. Ooooh and gummy worms! Especially the kind with the "sour powder" on the outside that's not really sour. And I love the candies that are round chewy caramel with cream in the center. I don't remember the brand name... Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I don't cook all that much... so probably not so much. Mix CD?: Yes please! Which do you love most? Ooooh. Tough question. I would say pirates if they're the grungy-sexy Johnny Depp-as-Jack Sparrow type. Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. My hair is loooong and fine. It slips out of a lot of clips (grippy bumps on the inside aren't a bad idea). But I like claw clips and thick-ish hairties. Bright colors and funky designs are good. Sometimes I use the clips that you bend back and forth to open and close. I don't like things that are going to stick out too much (with the exception of big claw clips) or have too much extra stuff going on. Piercings: 3 in each earlobe (i usually just keep plain silver rings in these), an industrial in one ear and a single cartilage piercing in the other (both 16 gauge), and my bellybutton. I'm always losing the bottom balls to the bellybutton rings and I have a tendency to get bored quickly with the rings I have, so I'm always looking for new ones. I don't like anything too dangly for regular wear. Really, the ones with cheap acrylic balls in bright colors and patterns are best. Because you can get a bunch of them at once and it doesn't matter if you lose or break a ball because you can just grab another ring. Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) Yesssss! I like milk, dark, and white chocolate (yes, I know white chocolate isn't really chocolate but I still like it). I like orange chocolate a lot and I would love to try other citrus-y kinds if they make them. No so big on nuts. Caramel is okay. Fruit and berries are generally good (cherry can be kinda iffy though). As for weird stuff, I've always kind of wanted to try bacon chocolate but never have. Never tried chilis. If they're not actually really hot I'd give them a try. I think white chocolate is my favorite kind of chocolate to eat plain. I like milk and dark chocolate dressed up with other stuff better. For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I looooove lip balm. Seriously, I can never have too many. There a bunch on my etsy wishlist if you want to get an idea of flavors I like. I don't wear glosses or lipstick very much. a little bit of shimmer or glitter is okay but nothing too over the top. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? Phoenixes. I have a very strong connection with them and the next tattoo I get is going to be a phoenix. A lot of the perfumes (oil based please ) sound good to me but also the scrubs, soap, shower gel (their shower gel doesn't have SLS/SLES! Yes I do. This is my favorite book of poetry, but I am open to anything my witch would like to send. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? Scents to avoid is easy: florals. Room scents that are overly floral usually just make my head hurt. Sometimes the "fresh" or "clean" ones do it too, but some of them I like. Scents I like are a little more complicated. I like fruits, sweet fruits in particular. I also like vanillas and baking type scents like "chocolate chip cookies" or "vanilla buttercream" or "pumpkin pie" or something like that. I also really like coffee scents. Coffee with stuff is also good. Like mocha or hazelnut coffee, etc. I am intrigued by the idea of a leather scented candle but I don't know if it would be good or would make my head hurt. It would have to be a really good quality leather scent. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I'm not so much a comic book person. I do read some webcomics. How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles? I have some nail polish and I use it fairly infrequently but when I do use it I really like it. The only color I feel that my life is missing and I really really need is a rich, deep velvety chocolate brown. Otherwise I like pretty much anything except yellow and orange. Sparkles are all good. Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? My sister calls me a "secret geek." If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/something else ooooh! I think it kinda depends on what the item is. I really like bamboo fabric and satin but I don't know how well those would hold up in a bag or something that would have to take a lot of abuse. But if you were making, say, a pillow or something. I think they would work. (Of course I don't know these things. I'm just guessing ) Smooth cotton fabrics are also nice but again I guess it kind of depends on what you're doing with it. I've always kind of liked bags made out of coffee bean sacks (I think they're burlap?) but it's that rustic, random words and symbols printed on it look I like. OOOH! And I loooove those no-sew fleece blanets that come in bundles that you just unwrap and you're good to go. I have like, 4, but I will keep buying them! What is the coolest thing you have recently bought or been given that wouldn't exceed the price cap? The icons that Stellans made me! I love them! Do people like Roller Derby? If so, would you want anything from that sport? Like memorabilia or anything? I've never seen a match(? is that the right word?) for myself but it does seen intriguing. I'd like to learn more. Clowns: I don't really care either way about clowns. Now the scents, that's another story... Bones Trombone and Knockout Drops sound really good! Thunder and Blazes sounds iffy with the mud but it has leather! I have to try it!

In the bottle: Sugared musk and boozy vanilla. yummy just applied: the vanilla gets stronger right away and... something fruity? dunno what that is... drying: the vanilla and musk stay strong. The sugary sweetness of the bottle and freshly applied scents dissipated quickly. I'm smelling something smoky/spicy. could that be the cardamom? hmm. dry: smoky and spicy with a musky base and a little bit of vanilla. Not as vanilla-y or sweet as I thought it would be from the description or from the first stages of the scent. But that's not to say I don't like it, it's just not what I expected. Also, not much throw at all. I'm generally pretty liberal with my perfume application but I have to go extra heavy with this one to get much out of it.

This is delicious! The white chocolate note smells the same to me as the one in White Chocolate and Sugared Violets (which I also like). In the bottle and freshly applied it's all white chocolate and bit of raspberry with the apricot way in the background but as it sits on my skin the fruits get jucier... I can't stop sniffing my wrists! The white chocolate gives a creamy background to the raspberry and apricot. I definitely need more of this.

This so much! It smells like grass and squished flowers! (It has that green element of broken flower stems and the blossoms too) Florals don't usually do it for me but I like this one.

For some reason this struck me as really funny. But also as a really good idea. I have very fair skin and Boomslang stains me as well. I usually just apply it normally and ignore the blotches.

My first thought was something from the Mad Tea Party category. Maybe one of the Tweedles. Or... March Hare or Mouse's Long and Sad Tale.

At first this is waaayyyyy too floral on me (ylang-ylang, behave yourself!) but after a while of sitting on my skin the ylang-ylang mellows out and blends into the heady red musk and patchouli and warm myrrh to create a wonderful, super-sexy scent. (It is an aged imp though. I'm waiting not-so-patiently for my bottle to get to the same level of awesome)

What color are your eyes? Blue If you had to choose a color for a nightie to sleep in what color would it be? oh my... Black is usually my favorite/default color for these sorts of things but I also like blue (light and dark), red (the darker the better) and purple. Since everyone is spending the same amount of money on this swap, would you be interested in seeing the cost breakdown of each item in your package? If you want to tell me, that's fine but I don't feel the need to know otherwise. I know you're putting a lot of time and effort into witching me and that's what matters. Villainess update? I'm drooling over The Truffle Trade (I had a bar of it before and ) and Raspberry Swirl. Do you like guessing who your witch is, or would you prefer to know? Do you mind knowing? I usually don't try to guess mid round. But I always like my witch to reveal! If it's going to be obvious who your witch is, would you rather she played the ninja and sent one big box at the end, or smaller packages along the way? However you want to play it is fine with me. Are you opposed to vegan baked goods? Or baked goods in general? Any baked goods will be gladly accepted be me and my family (I'm generous like that lol) Vegan is fine. I'm not vegan but I'm not opposed to vegan recipes. Please tell me if the recipe isn't vegetarian though (contains gelatin, lard, or some other animal product) because while I am not a vegetarian, my mother is. Lip balm: Yay or nay? If yay, what are your favorite kinds (brands, consistency, whatever)? Yes yes and more yes! (gotta watch those parabens though...) I don't like sticky or overly gloopy lip balms/glosses, waxy is also not good. I have a Bunny Butt lip balm and I like it a lot. I'd like another/more and I'd like to try their lip tints. I would love to be enabled to more! How do you feel about home-canned goods, like pickles, jelly, preserves, stuff like that. Jelly or preserves would be great. I don't like pickles though. BPAL-wise: I regret swapping my bottle of Visiting the Temple of Auspicious Fortune Alone on the Winter Solstice. I thought "Oh I never wear this" and swapped it out. I have a decant back now but I miss my bottle (I know it sounds silly). And it wasn't really giving it up but I managed to ruin a perfectly aged bottle of Xiuhtecuhtli by my own stupidity. (I'll tell you the story if you want.) I've been slowly swapping for imps of it but I haven't had the extra money to make a lab order so I haven't gotten another bottle of it. What is everyone's take on Valentine's Day? If I'm in a relationship I usually like to have a nice romantic night together. Maybe have a nice dinner or something. I'm currently single so I don't know what I'll be doing. Maybe I'll treat myself to some nice candy and a romantic evening with myself. Do you like traditional Valentine's Day colors (red, pink, white, more?) ? Red's okay. Especially dark red. Pink and white I don't really care either way. I'm the kind of person that tends to put myself in the story and imagine whatever's happening to the characters to be happening to me so if it's a horribly bittersweet ending I'll be imagining I'll never be able to see my true love again be I will always be able to feel their love for me when I stare out at the sea at sunset and see the light on the waves. And knowing me that actually will make me sad until I remember that that's not actually the case and I haven't found my true love anyway so I have nobody to lose at sea yet. (res. version) All I got from this was a whole bunch of mint and a tiny bit of fake plastic coconut. *sigh* I wanted to love it. I wanted it to love me. But alas, it is not meant to be.

2009 version In the bottle it smells like soap. Seriously... soap. WTF? When I put it on it smells super perfumey but less like soap. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but the longer I keep it on the more I can smell some vanilla cream peeking out under there. There may be hope yet. The longer I keep it on the less perfumey-sharp it gets and the more it smells like a mellowed vanilla cream. I'm not getting much of the other elements (unless the perfumeyness is the cognac going crazy). I think this needs some time to age.

All day yesterday was De Sade *sigh* then for ringing in the new year I switched to TALs. Today is a cleaning day so I haven't decided what I'll be wearing yet.

When I first put this on it smells like cherry slushie and plasticky fake chocolate flavoring with popcorn butter. Oookay... As it dries down it calms down a bit and loses the plasticy edge. After a while it's just cherry slushie and popcorn butter, no hint of chocolate anymore. I'm not a fan of cherry syrup smell so I'll be passing on my decant.

All I'm getting from my imp is cherry cough medicine. I hate the smell of fake cherry flavor, to the point where I start to feel sick when I smell it so this imp will be getting swapped...

To me, this smells like alcoholic gummy bears all the way through. It's okay to smell but I doubt I'd wear it much as perfume.

In the bottle: mint... Wet on my skin: minty flowers Drying/dry: still just mint and a bit of dusty chrysanthemum. I think I'll let this some age a bit and try it again. Hopefully it will get some depth and I'll be able to smell some other things besides just the mint and a bit of mum.

I third Antique Lace. It's one of the first things I thought of when I saw this thread. The only reason I didn't mention it was it's so hard to find right now.

I third Mouse's Long and Sad Tale for sweet, fairly uncomplicated vanilla. Morocco is a nice vanilla to me. It's a bit spicy but not overly so. It might be worth a try. Love's Philosophy is a very creamy, sweet vanilla, but it might be a bit hard to find.

Velvet Pink Kitty is very fizzy to me.

The blend that I find closest to AL is Mouse's Long and Sad Tale. The vanillas are very similar to my nose and I've always smelled something a little creamy about AL that Mouse's has too. The first time I tried Morocco it reminded me a lot of AL. But I think as it ages it will get more spicy and less vanilla. Boo smells more like sweet cream to me than vanilla but it's worth a try. Same goes for Love's Philosophy. It smells more like vanilla ice cream than AL's vanilla but it might be worth a shot.

Berry Moon '09 has orange blossom honey as a note. To me it's pretty well blended in and the scent is mostly a musky berry scent but it's pretty easy to find now and might be worth a shot. The description is: A golden summer musk with warm fig, orange blossom honey, sweet blueberries, and bright velvety crimson raspberries.
