    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Interesting topic.... My hair is naturally kind of a dirty/golden blonde mix. The longer it grows out the more golden the sun turns it. But I dye it RED. Not fire engine red but deep, intense, saturated red. It hasn't been blonde in a few years now. When I was a teenager I dyed it all sorts of crazy colors. Hot pink, primary, fire engine red, green, blue, a kind of teal color once that really didn't flatter my skin. Yeah. For blonde hair I would think of The Antikythera Mechanism, maybe Mouse's Long and Sad Tale? For redheads, War (from the Good Omens line) definitely says "fiery, seductive, hot redhead" to me Maybe something leather-y too, like The Bow and Crown of Conquest

    Peach III

In the imp: Deep red wine with the tiniest hint of peach. Wet: Peach and assorted red fruit flavored hard candy. The wine is much sweeter and less dark on my skin than in the imp. As it dries, the rose starts to peek it's head up way in the background. Drydown: Something (I think it's the wine) is going a little sour. It's just the slightest whiff of something that's gone off but it's enough to affect the whole scent. Conclusion: I think this one is going in the swap pile...

    Peach V

Discalimer: I tested this on the back of my hand, which sometimes affects the way the oil smells. The same oil on back of my hand sometimes smells different than on my wrist or elbow or neck, etc. So I may need to do another test in different places. In the imp: Peach candy! Wet: Juicy peach and floral tea. As this dries the tea is coming through more strongly. The neroli is back there way in the back. This is like sniffing the tea bag that you took out of the cabinet and placed in your cup while waiting for the kettle to boil. There's a plate of juicy, sweet freshly sliced peaches sits beside it on the counter as a snack to eat with your tea. Drydown: Juicy peach and tea at the forefront. I can just barely detect the neroli but it's there. After a little while a light, golden beeswax-y honey note comes through (honey always smells beeswax-y to me so YMMV). Someone poured a dollop of sweet honey into their tea. And all that's left of the peaches is some juice left on the plate. Long wear: after a little more than an hour all that's left where I applied the oil is a faint sweet peach scent. The sweetness smells more like sugary sweet than the fresh juicy sweet that it was before. I like this stage Conclusion: I like this scent but I'm not sure how much I'd actually use it. I don't tend to use imps and decants as much as bottles. But I do think I'll save this for spring and summer and see how I like it then.

    Chaste Moon 2010

Though March marks the end of the desolation and chill of winter, it is not yet Spring, the time of rebirth, fertility and the Earth's fecundity. March's Full Moon is a Virgin's Moon, pure, youthful, unsullied and innocent. This is the Moon of the Child, and the scent is as soft and gentle as a baby's breath: milky blossoms and soft cream touch the last buds of winter, coupled with crystalline, hazy traditional Lunar oils. In bottle: Those distinctive "lunar herbs" that almost never work on me and just a touch of creaminess. Wet: Floraly lunar herbs, the creaminess stays well in the background, smoothing the overall feel of the scent. Drydown: white florals with a hint of something wintery. That winter note is fresh and clear (the "crystalline" part of the scent description?). Maybe a little ozoney. I'm not really a connoisseur of wintery/icy/minty notes. That tiny bit of cream is still hanging on in the background. Dry: I really want to like this but it's just not doing it for me. There's a slightly aquatic note floating around in here now. Maybe it's that icy/wintery/crystal note morphing. Like the ice that was formed into tiny crystals on the delicate white blooms is melting. I was hoping the cream would be more apparent but I can hardly smell it. Long wear: After a few hours a sweet creamy, tiny bit of white floral scent is left on my skin. I like this part. If I could skip the step with the icy/aquatic note so prevalent, I would really like this. Overall this is going in the swap pile. It does smell good, It's just not something I would really wear. I prefer my florals with something a little more grounded and robust.
  5. Number 134: In bottle: Sniffing from the bottle this scent smells perfumey, There's definitely something floral in here. Wet: Very herbal, whatever that floral was it's way behind all the herbal green-ness. Drydown: I recognize this scent but I can't put my finger on it. As it dries the green note transforms from herbal to a wet green planty smell. This is like the cast off stems from someone's floral arrangement, with a few blooms still clinging to the ends, wet from the water they were kept in. I'm not getting much, if any amber from this. I know it's there but it's not apparent. I applied this on my wrist and elbow. On my wrist it's green herbal/floral plant stems, while on my elbow it's a much warmer, rounder, smoother scent. I'm getting the amber there. I get tiny whiffs of something that smells like leather from my elbow, but I don't think it is leather. I don't know what it is. Dry/long wear: The herbal notes are fading a bit, and a warm, slightly sweet scent is coming through (Ah hah! There's the amber!). It's really pretty right now and I don't usually like herbal or green floral scents. I'm trying to figure out which other scent this reminds me of. Maybe Succubus a tiny bit? It smells like something that should be in the Rappaccini's Garden section.

    Naughty Glop

In container: Patchouli! And lots of it. Smooth and warm. This smells like aged patchouli, not fresh. The dirty sharpness that I smell in new patchouli isn't there. (The container is smaller than I expected but a little goes a LONG way. For this test I wiped off the bottom of the safety seal and that was more than enough for my hands) Rubbed on hands: Leather with red musk and patchouli in the background. This smells like the leather that's in The Black Rider and my beloved De Sade. Soaking in: Still warm leather with the vanilla note coming in. The red musk and patch seem to be fading into the background a bit. This actually reminds me of The Bow and Crown of Conquest a little. The leather and vanilla have the same kind of feel. The consistency of this stuff is a little greasier than I'd like. It leaves that greasy feeling on my hands even after I've rubbed it in thoroughly. It's absorbing pretty fast but until it's absorbed I'm afraid to touch anything. It's also thinner than I thought it would be. The bit I put on my hands almost slid off into my lap while I was getting the lid closed. I would love to see more lotions from BPTP. I hope this is the beginning of a new product line!

    'Pink' scents

I haven't sniffed it in a while but you might try Jailbait (Innocence defiled. Sticky pink bubblegum and the thick, sweet scent of orange and cherry lollipops smeared over a breath of heady womanly perfume.) I really like Candy Phoenix (A dusky, yet effervescent mix of pomegranate and black currant candies, with a dusting of sugared pear and white apple.) It smells like grownup, sexy candy. It's definitely a dark pink rather than a bubblegum pink smell. You could also check out Love (Marshmallows and rose sugar with whipped vanilla cream and a hint of strawberry.) It's a very candy-pink and sugary scent. It has rose in it which I know you said doesn't work on you in large doses. I seriously amp roses but this scent walked the like nicely between nice, soft, pretty rose and super overwhelming rose. Jailbait is GC, the other two were LEs. Love was pretty recent though, it might not be too hard to find in swaps or sales... There are also some scents from other companies that I like and are very pink but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to suggest non-BPAL... If you want these suggestions, PM me. Unless I am actually allowed to post non-BPAL recs in which case I'll post them here.

    Ice Princess Bath Oil

I use my bath oils as moisturizers so, YMMV. In the bottle: florals and cream. It smells pretty perfumey at this stage. Looking at the scent description I don't know where those perfumey florals are coming from, but it seems I'm not alone in smelling this aspect of the scent. Wet/just applied: A minty/snow note dominates with those perfumey florals in the background. I can start to smell a tiny bit of fruit. Dry/during wear: The minty snow notes fades (yay! I'm not a huge fan of that minty snow) and the cream comes back in force (also yay!) and there's more fruit that floral. In the end this scent ended up being what I wanted out of it. Cream and cool fruits. I bought it on a whim but I'm glad I did.

    Yule Cookie

I bought this scent not knowing exactly what to expect. I like cookie-foodie type scents and I love orange so there didn't seem like there was much that could go wrong here. I was a little hesitant about the flour note though. In bottle: Sweet bakery-like vanilla with a tiny hint of a floral orange smell. Smells more like orange blossom than orange to me. Wet: Spicy vanilla cookies, Over 5-10 minutes the cookies get a hint of sweet orange glaze. Dry: Like sniffing spices in the kitchen where cookies were just baked. The vanilla cookie smell has drifted to the background but it's most definitely still there. I had no reason to be wary of this scent. It's beautiful! If I had my choice it would stop at the wet, vanilla spiced cookie version but A warm vanilla spices scent never goes amiss. A lot of people say that Morocco smells like a basket of spices with vanilla scent. So I thought of that while I was typing this up. To my nose, they're very different. Morocco is warm, creamy vanilla with an undercurrent of soft sandalwood and spice while the dry version of this is like smelling spices out of the bottle. But maybe if you like one, try the other.

    Love

Marshmallows and rose sugar with whipped vanilla cream and a hint of strawberry. I tend to seriously amp florals but I love foody/sweet scents so this was kind of a risk for me. Also, I really want to like rose, but too much of it is just not good. But this scent actually walked the line pretty well. In bottle: sweet, creamy rose. Wet: A green note joins in for a while and the scent gets very pink-sugary. The rose, though, seems more mature than the overall smell suggests. Dry: sweet and creamy strawberry rose. A very pink, almost candy-like strawberry. Long wear: The rose mellows out a lot and the scent is rounder overall. It didn't last as long as I thought it would. 5 hours maybe? I could still smell a bit of creamy sweet if I stuck my nose to my wrist but the body of the scent was all but gone. I liked it but I didn't love it. I don't know how often I'll actually be reaching for it. I usually go for Little Flora if I want creamy flowers.

    Le Père Fouettard

I did a side by side comparison of the '08 version (which I LOVE! I was ecstatic when I saw this on the Yules list this year. I never even smelled it until a few years after its release. I don't think I even read the notes until after I smelled it so I'm used to warm, yummy, evenly balanced cake and leather all the way from bottle to drydown) In the bottle the '13 version has more cake than the '08 version. Which is okay. Wet on my skin I am getting more notes than I expected. I was surprised to smell something dirty and a bit gritty in with my leather and cake. The coal dust I guess? The leather also smells a bit newer than the '08 version. The smell overall isn't as warm. Drying down there's some kind of sharp smell that I can't identify. It's not bad or ruining the blend, but definitely present. Dry it gets a little warmer and more like the '08 version. But as time goes on that sharp smell creeps back in. I think the verdict is that I'll use up my '08 bottle and let the two (yes, two ) that I bought age in the drawer for a while. P.S.- I get absolutely no licorice from this at all. Either year.

    Sudsy She-Wolf Bath Oil

(I use my bath oils as on-skin moisturizers) In the bottle I get all warm fuzzy chocolate hazelnut with a little bit of coffee On my skin the coffee comes out a little more and as it dries down the pine shows itself but if you didn't know it was pine you wouldn't know it was pine, if that makes sense. It goes surprisingly well with all the warm fuzzy amber-chocolate-hazelnut-coffee goodness. Yummy and sexy!

    Silkybat Hair Gloss

Huh. I forgot I'd already reviewed this. Well, here's a more thorough review: In bottle (sniffing pump nozzle): patchouli, patchouli all day long. The dirty-sharp smell of new patch. Maybe a tiny bit of sugar? Sprayed on damp hair and sprayed into hands and run through hair): sweet patch. This is when the sweetness is most apparent. There's some kind of lemony note in there too. Wear: This is not at all as strong as expected. If I flip my hair I can smell woody, fresh patch. It's kind of hard to hard to pick out the "sweet" in here. Whatever that lemony note was, it's gone now. Dry hair: all but gone. I catch the barest whiff when I turn my head but it's so faint. Maybe it's because I sprayed it on wet/damp hair. I use argan oil in my hair on a regular basis and always put it in when my hair is still damp. (I'm not applying that for the scent, but it does smell good - bonus!) Or maybe I didn't use enough. I did 2 direct sprays (scalp and ends) and a total of three sprays into my hands and ran them through my hair. I was about to go to work though and didn't want suffocate those around me with a cloud of parchouli. I'm not going to give up on it. I'll do another test on dry hair and besides, this is just going to get better with age. The patchouli will get rounder and less dirty-sharp (new patch smell isn't bad but aged patch is better and richer.. This will be a good base or accent to other scents too.

    The Inn Atmosphere Spray

I was very lucky to get a goblin squirt of The Inn in my last BPTP order. I tested it on a paper towel. I get mostly purple/red fruit and breadyness with some leather and wood in the background. It's like the scent of currant bread and cake with juicy purple fruit drifting out from the kitchen. You can smell the worn leather of the clothes and armor of the adventurers in the dining room and the rough-hewn wood that the building is made from. This is a really complex scent that tells a whole story in a single whiff.

    Little Flora

This smells just like Katrina van Tassel to me. I mean exactly. It's been a while since I've smelled that once so maybe if I did a side by side I would find some differences but If you like one maybe check out the other. At first, I'm getting an even balance of the sweet cream and peony. The cream seems to be dissipating as I wear this, which is slightly dissapointing for me, the more cream the better, but it's still a beautiful scent.

    The Gorobble

In the bottle: Burnt. not good Burnt.... overwhelming burnt... sweet plastic? This isn't going well so far. First applied: Still overwhelmingly burnt, sweet, slightly plastic-y. Drydown: The plastic smell disappeared, thankfully. The burnt toned down a bit and the sweet sugary marshmallow is coming out more. The burnt smell is ind of putting me off though. It's not good smoky or toasted sugar, it's burnt in a not good way. Dry, wearing: Sweet and sugary is wearing off, leaving just a faint burnt scent. Overall, not really working for me. Maybe I'll test again at a better time if the month... :/

    Leather Phoenix

I *had* to buy this when it went up and I'm glad I snagged a bottle but I was a little worried about the star anise and the rose. (Rose anything can take over a blend and go bad on my skin) Thankfully, the main note is the leather. Black, S&M, whip leather. With a background of resinous notes and a bit of spice. And it holds true for hours until the leather starts to fade a bit and a some green note starts to creep in (the matcha maybe? I really don't know.) Whatever it is, I love this scent and it has made it into my high favorites of leather scents. (nothing can replace my beloved De Sade... but this is pretty damn good.)

    A Wonderful Light

I really like this one! I get beeswax (that's the honey I guess) and amber, and some overall sweetness. It feels so warm and golden. The vanilla just kinda blends in but I get a little spark of citrus. Just detectable as a highlight to the glowy warm goldeny body of the scent. Glad I grabbed a bottle when I could.
  19. Soooo... I happened to skip down to the end of my blog post to see that some of my earlier answers have been cut off! Eeeep! So, I'm going to transfer some of my most recent answers over here and answer the newest questions over here from now on (or until I need a THIRD post ) More random stuff: I have been lusting over Villainess Bourbon Vanilla Smooch and Whipped since I (re)discovered that they existed the other day via the SW thread... seriously. I have been using the death by chocolate scrub I have and it is lovely I can't even imagine how good the Bourbon Vanilla stuff will be Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? Nooooo. I really don't like liquorice. Especially black liquorice. ew. How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I like milk and white chocolate the best. (I actually love just plain good quality white chocolate. I love how it's so creamy and just melts away on my tongue...)I like salty and sweet combos, like chocolate covered pretzels (OMG chocolate covered pretzels are my biggest weakness! Milk and white are my favorite but dark too... guh.) I am really intrigued by bacon chocolate. I would like to try it. I do like fruit flavors (wither real fruit pieces or just like a fruit flavoring in the chocolate) If I had to pick a favorite I'd say orange. But I really like grapefruit, lime (citrusy flavors are good), strawberry, raspberry... I DON'T like blueberry, mango, or cherry. Cherry is tricky because I like real cherries but cherry flavoring I do not like. Nuts are also okay. I really like almonds and milk chocolate. I'm kind of on a walnut kick right now so that wouls be good. (though I've never had a walnut in chocolate. I wonder what that would taste like...?) I like marshmallows and toffee. Those are sometimes in chocolate bars right? Oooh! I was messing around on the create your own chocolate bar site someone posted and I made a bar that was just white chocolate with candied violet petals. I am curious to see how that would taste... I've also made some others (dark or milk chocolate with sea salt and lavender, milk and/or white chocolate with orange peel, milk chocolate with marshmallows and graham crackers - s'more bar! , milk chocolate with banana chips and yogurt pretzels, because why not?, I could go on all night... ) More random stuff, BPAL related: So, it seems that I have ruined my bottle of TKO. The other day I dropped the cap (wand cap) and I didn't think that the wand hit my hand that was covered in scented lotion, but apparently it did, so now instead of smelling like a fluffy lavender marshmallow, it smells like and herbaly kinda vanillaish lavender-y mess. A practically FULL BOTTLE. I really am almost in tears over this. I know it's stupid but I can't buy another bottle and I was planning to buy a backup so now I need two and I have no money right now and what if it gets disconed before I can buy more? Is there a movie you want that you don’t own now? Yes. Inception. I'm sure there are more but that's the only one that comes to mind at the moment. Would any witchees be interested in Quinn Popcorn? Sure, sounds interesting! Am I the only one? Does anyone else like collector Barbies? Eeeeh, not really my thing. Unless it for some reason would be really funny or interesting or for some reason relate to me. if you were my witchee, would you want some of my hot nuts my candied nuts my nuts covered in butter and brown sugar candied walnuts? omg... that sounds ahhhhhmazing. *drool* I have been having a walnut kick lately and candied nuts are just YUM anyway so yeah. I always get candied almonds when I go to the rennfest (which I will be going to soon yaaaay!) Random thing that just popped into my head that may or may not help with witching: I have 2 different companies' dupes of Aquolina's Pink Sugar (Solstice Scents and Opulent Alchemy. I like Solstice Scents's one better in case you were wondering. Lol) But I"ve never tried the original. I know it's a alcohol containing perfume so I probably won't like it all that much but I feel like I should at least try it. So at some point I'd like to get the smallest container of it that they make. Which I think is a rollerbottle. Another random thing! I am going to at some point get a tattoo of a phoenix. I have the drawing of the phoenix that I want, but it's not colored. I want a colored tat and I'm having issues with coloring it myself. I mean, I know what color scheme I want it to have... kind of. I'm just having trouble translating my thoughts to the paper. I don't know if you can somehow insert this into your witching plans but there you go. For those of you that like candles, do you like stuff from Yankee Candle? And if you had to choose, tarts or candles? Yes candles! And I definitely have my eye on some Yankee candles stuff. I for some reason get yankee candles catalogs to my house and I browse through them and lust over the big jar candles in soo many luscious scents. I can never decide between the tasty foodie creamy scents or the coffee scents or the fresh fruity scents. Does anyone want anything from... here...? Ooooooh man. I am trying so hard to forget that place exists. So much of it looks sooo good! .......Ahhhh! I caved! I went on a favoriting spree! What are you drooling over from the Sock Dreams Halloween stuff? These (I need a whole new nurse outfit too... hmm.) And oooh these! I dunno what makes them particularly halloween-y but hey, I'm always up for some rainbow thigh highs! (or knee highs) And theeeese! Ditto on the halloween thing but fuzzy toe socks are always a plus in my book. I like these too. I like stripes and I like otk/thigh highs so what's not to like? (Don't even ask about color combination. waaaaay too many to choose from O.O ) Witches, did you lament NOT getting one of the condom case/imp cases that got released with the courtesan series??? I wouldn't say that I lament it, but I would like one of the imp/condom cases. Either one of the courtesan ones or one of the ones they have up all the time. I also would like a keyring but I feel a little silly dropping $18 on a keyring. But, apparently I don't feel silly dropping $200 on bras like I did the other day... holy ship (Bahahahahaha! I typed holy ship. It's staying. ) bras are expensive. Well, I really shouldn't be surprised when I walk into a Victoria's Secret without my "No, I'm Not Buying Anything Today 'Kay Thank You Bye" shield up. I mean, I really did need bras, I'm not saying the sales lady pushed me into buying something I didn't need, but I didn't necessarily need Vickie's bras. And I didn't necessarily need 4. Okay, that part is kinda my fault..... how did I get to talking about this again? Good luck trinkets Idk if this was a real question bus I saw someone quote a post with this question in is so I'm answering it because I want to. My mom is ummm, I kind of don't know how to label her spirituality. Celtic reconstructionist flavored? But heavy into Brighid. Like, she and Brighid have a really special relationship, so she asked my sister and I to wear (or carry at all times if we're not wearing them) Brighid's crosses. Mine is a stamped precious metal clay pendant. My mom bought it on etsy so she might have they purchase transaction link somewhere. I'll see if I an have her dig it up. In the meantime, I'll see if I can find a good picture of me wearing it so you can kinda see what it looks like... Okay so yeah, that's me. Hi, me. And a pretty good shot of my necklace. It's a three armed Brighid's Cross with some extra decoration around it. It's like some swoop-y petal-y flower-y type stuff. I recently saw candy corn in non-candy corn flavors like CHOCOLATE and CARAMEL APPLE. It's not a fancy brand, I just saw it in the drugstore, but who here would like something like that? I'd try it. I'd be afraid that the chocolate one would be kinda fakey chocolate. I do like regular candy corn in small doses. It is sooooo sweet. Stuff you've been meaning to do: Clean my room, call my doctor (nothing serious, don't worry), get all my witching stuff organized, figure out wtf is going on with my school crap, organize all my books, pack up some swaps and go to the post office Princess Bride? Yay or nay? Have I answered this already? I don't think so. I'll answer again... YAY! Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside? OMG! I don'tknow why but this question reminded me of the first time I went back to a Chuck-E-Cheese since becoming an adult (I mean, not since turning 18 but like, I hadn't been there since I was a little kid and now I was going back for my boyfriend's little cousin's party or something I don't even remember.) And O.M.F.G. the creepy anamatronic muppet robot character things on the creepy little stage "playing" their creepy little instruments with the crappy tinny music being pumped in through badly masked speakers. It was AWFUL. Their movement was jerky and sudden and their eyes never really closed or opened all the way and their mouthes moved in a really unnerving unhinged quality..... And of course the table for the stupid party was right next to the stupid "stage" where these creepy fucking puppet things were. Up close you could hear the "clack clack" of the plastic banging together and the whirring of the motors that operated their movement but really, that didn't make it any better... I know you're not going to send me a creepy Chuck-E-Cheese robot, I really don't know where that came from... If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? Ahaha! I have a good one if you do by the name of your first pet and the first street you lived on rules (that's how my friends and I always did it anyway...) So mine would be Tawna Sellman. I think that one's pretty good all on it's own. If I ever need to go underground or need a few extra bucks... Tawna Sellman it is! I have just been enlightened to THESE. Are these flavors relevant to your interests? Oooooh. It's lip stuff, you know I can't help myself. The ones that look interesting to me are: Dead Sexy, Clove Cigarette, Salted Caramel, and Smoked Salt (because whaaaaa?) I mean really, all of them sound good. But those sound... the most good? I need to get off the internet. I am so tired.
  20. Dear Witch, I just remembered some very important information. I have no idea how accurate the previous/old SW answers in this blog may be so if you feel the desire to go back through old SW questions and answers for inspiration, the answer to any given question may or may not be the same now. So it might not hurt to ask me (or the whole thread if you're feeling so inclined) over again. You see? I knew this would happen. I just submitted my questionnaire last night and I already thought of something else I need to add. I love pinup art! I had a calendar of pinups and I have a bunch of accessories with pinup style art on them (cigarette case that I use as a wallet, things like that). There’s just something about that style of art, it kind of entrances me… And I should have put this under my favorite animal question but phoenixes are really special to me. They have a very special significance to me. I’m getting a tattoo of one. So yeah, another piece of information about me to use in your witchy endeavors. I mentioned Re-Ments in my questionnaire. The little miniature food models that their only purpose is to be miniature food and be adorable. Well I figured I should give some example. So here are some links to some examples of re-ments. There are also some good examples on my Amazon wishlist. I have discovered this site which has rosemary laundry soap and fabric softener. Rosemary scented laundry soap! How amazing is that?! (I absolutely LOVE rosemary. The way it smells, the way it tastes, everything.) They have other scents and other products too, but that's the one I'm really going gaga over. And the orange clove hand soap.... Looks pretty fantastical. I am always ISO decanting supplies. Imp sized vials, pipettes, *unused* wand caps (I know that's not really a decanting supply but I never have enough of them). Dear witch, I think I forgot to say anywhere I talked about piercings that I really don't like stud earrings. Straight barbells are fine. I like those. But the kind that are studs with a slip on back that gathers gunk inside of it, I really, really don't like. Extra Questions: Who here likes Stephanie Pui-Min Law's artwork? I do, but the only exposure I've really had to it is sending ecards of it though. Do you drink wine? On occasion. When I do though, I usually really like it, so yeah. Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? I would definitely like to try it. Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? I always try to forget that Haunt exists because every time I look at Haunt stuff I'm drooling over everything but it always seems like it's so hard to get or always sold out everywhere so what's the point in trying? Hershey's Pumpkin Spice kisses? What? .....What? What?! How do these exist and I do not know... I need me a bag of these ASAP. Like commercial socks? Yeeeeessssss! I keep filling up my Sockdreams cart but not ordering. I really need new solid black and solid white thigh high stockings. And I need some stockings to go with my new garter belt. I'm thinking black with a white ruffle/bow at the top and/or vice versa. And the cute neopolitan stripes socks and the clouds socks that sockdreams has. oooooh! Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? i have just discovered the love that is Jetpens.... I kind of love pens more than really makes any logical sense... I don't do art, so art type pens aren't really of any use to my but regular writey type pens are awesome. (I can provide specifics if you'd like to know more about my pen preferences) If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. Hmmm, Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion (seriously I go through the big pump bottles of this stuff sooo fast), Complexion Zen soap from Bunny Butt, Herbalism cleanser, Grease Lightning cleanser, Tea Tree Toner Water all from LUSH I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? I would love a hand painted quote! I actually have a notebook just for quotes that I really like or that particularly resonate with me. reusable bags? Sure! reusable bags are always useful. What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? I switch up my purse preferences all the time. I'll go from teeny just a step up from writslet-clutch type purse to a messenger bag to a shoulder bag. I don't usually switch very often though. I'll usually use one bag for at least a few months or so. Right now I'm using this bag. Exactly that color and pattern. It's a cross-body messenger bag, though sometimes I just sling it over one shoulder if I don't feel like putting it over my head. I fell in love with that saying that was on their other bags and stuff but I liked the "lightweight messenger bag" better so I made a special request for that combination. I was the first one that had that particular combination of bag and pattern and after mine the shop just continued stocking them. I think that's kinda cool. I like being able to carry everything I might conceivably need: my wallet, notebook, water bottle, pens (my bag has a special place for pens and pencils you can see on the etsy listing), a book or two, all my various medications and crap, lotion, 10 billion lip balms.... But sometimes I like a teeny purse that just holds essentials that I can just sling over one shoulder or carry on my elbow. I would kind of like a bad that's in between the two sizes... Also I would like to try a leather bag. Dunno why exactly but the idea is appealing to me. Reveal? I am planning to reveal and I do hope my witch reveals to me. I know I haven't been as present in this round as I usually am. I am very sorry my witch and witchee! It's not that I don't love you both, I do! I am just busy with not-SW things Do Paintbox Soapworks' Goat's Milk Hand and Body Creams sound like something you'd like to try? ooooh! Yes please! As it gets colder and the air gets drier I am going to need some serious moisturizer. If there's one in Lavender Truffle then I would love one 'o those... I'm pretty sure that's my favorite GC scent from Paintbox second only to The Black Heart. The Indian Summer and Gingermilk ones sound pretty good. Would you be interested in the #occupywallstreet scent? Uuummmmm I may have just made an order tonight that included 2 bottles... *cough* *cough* It sounds like it's right up my alley. If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? Okay, seriously, I can NEVER have enough pouches, boxes, bags, things that hold other things, etc. I will always love stuff like that. And handmade by my loving Witch or Minion? Even better!!! I could use a case/cover for my phone (HTC incredible 2). My phone already has a soft case on it so idk if that would interfere with it sliding into another slip on cover thing? I would like something that I can pop it into when I need to throw it into my purse because the outfit I'm wearing doesn't have pockets but I don't want it knocking around in there loose with my keys and my water bottle and other things that could potentially scratch/damage it. So something that will protect it and is soft and easy to put on and off that covers it completely that it won't slide out of while it's banging around in my hyooooge messenger bag. I could also possibly use an ipod cover but that's a whole other story Do you like tarts? tealights? jar candles? votives? i don't have a tart burner. I do use tealights in my oil burner so matching up a scented tea light with the scented oil might be fun. (or I could just burn them on their own). I think though, if I was to pick out a scented candle it would be a jar candle. I do have my eye on some Yankee Candles. Also there are some scented candles on my etsy wishlist I believe. Colors! What are your favorite colors and what colors do you not like? Pictures and links, people! I usually say black or purple (darker/more blue toned purple usually) for my favorite color(s). I also like blue, green, some pinks. As for color combinatons I really like brown and pink like this (I also really like dots as a pattern so that works out nicely ), white and black, pink/hot pink and black, pretty much anything and black really... what's your favorite kind of pizza? Usually I just eat plain cheese. (I know I'm boring.) But I do love me a good veggie once in a while or if I'm a a place that's known for pizza or has like, gourmet toppings or something, I'll branch out. I will almost never turn down the opportunity to try something new. Like if someone says "hey, try this slice of pizza that has all these tasty things." I'll be like "Okay!" *bite* yeah... now I'm hungry. Fingerless Gloves/arm warmers Do want. I just answered the question on favorite colors/color combinatinations above so refer to there. As for materials, ummm anything will do I suppose. If it's supposed to be a cold weather thing then some type of toasty warm fabric/yarn stuff. If it's just decorative then thinner material. yeah, that was no help, just use your judgement. I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? I will have to go take a look at these. I think by now you have an idea of the things and scents I like... Go wild! Would you be interested in getting a gently used BPAL tshirt from your Witch? YES! You can look at the bottom of my BPAL wishlist to see some of the clothing I'm interested in but that's my no means an exhaustive list. If you have something in mind feel free to ask me or just go with the flow if you'd think I'd like it. I wear a size small in regular crew neck tees and hmmm I haven't picked out a babydoll in a while but I'd guess a medium. Maybe a large? Either would probably work so if you have one or the other on hand. What is your favorite coffee blend at Starbucks? If you don't have one, what is your favorite roast of coffee? I don't really like the just coffee-coffee at starbucks. I totally love their frou-frou drinks packed full of sugar and syrup! But just regular brewed coffee there, not so much. I like dunkin donuts brewed coffee. I usually just drink their regular, no flavors coffee but I do like DD french vanilla and hazelnut. And I really like Target's food brand, Archer Farms. They have some really nice flavors. My current favorite of theirs is Cinnamon Vanilla Nut. (I was seriously disappointed by the Pumpkin Pie Spice. Really not so good. And their french vanilla was not terribly inspiring either.) I am always looking to expand my horizons in the field of coffee so if you have a roast/flavor/brand you particularly like then please, by all means, send it along to me! And also, this doesn't exactly have to do with this question but it's kinda related. For the longest time I've been wanting a french press. And maybe some grinds to go with it (I believe you need a coarser grind of coffee for a french press than in a drip brewer.) Grr the a key on my keyboard is sticking... totally random I know. But if you see words without a's that's why. Put your current mp3player, winamp playlist, what have you, on shuffle, list the first 10 songs: 1.Mad World – Tears for Fears 2.Existentialism on Prom Night – Straylight Run 3.So Damn Clever – Plain White T’s 4.Get Out Alive – Three Days Grace 5.The Mariner’s Revenge Song – The Decemberists 6.Devotion and Desire – Bayside 7.Requiem for a Tower (cover of the Requiem for a Dream song, Lux Aeterna) – Escala 8.Come What May – Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor (from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. It’s one of my favorite movies.) 9. Always – Erasure (Hell to the yeah. I make no apologies. ) 10. Rex Duodecim Angelus - ??? (This came off of a Homestuck soundtrack thing. My sister is really into the Homestuck fandom. I’m not really, I’ve read a bit of the beginning of it but my sister has given me some of the awesome music .) Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? Yes! I really want to start rock climbing again! I used to climb when I was a teenager and I knew all the knots and knew how to belay and everything... And I was actually a pretty good climber. Not super amazing but okay, and more importantly it was fun! But that was a good couple years ago and I've forgotten everything. I keep meaning to go back to the climbing gym I used to go to (Earth Treks in Columbia, MD in case my witch is somewhat local) and take a class or something because I don't have any gear of my own and I don't have a partner to go with who knows more than me and could teach me (I don't have a partner to go with me period.). Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? All the perfume oils sound really great! Especially Caffeinated Death and Reign in Hell and Serve in Heaven and Edict of Worms, and, and.... If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. Tim Tams! And other assorted tasty chocolates and yummies that aren't available in the US (or aren't available easily in the US) I love trying new things and trying things that aren't available in the US or I wouldn't be able to get usually is awesome! What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: Hmm, I will have to think on that one. I currently have an order mocked up for myself from this etsy shop. Including the Working Stiff balm (I think it will help my knees. My knees have been crap since the car accident I was in a few months ago), some rose balm (also comes in smaller size) a lip serum, a few solid lotion sticks, bug repellant stick, and a lip balm (or maybe this one, or this one. Oooh! Or this one! Oh, you know how I am about lip balms by now, I can't choose just one! I'm just as likely to buy them all! ) ***...I thought of something else! I don't know if this is really something that someone else can pick out, but I've been wanting to try some dry shampoo. You know, the kind that's like powder or spray you put in your hair and brush it through to make your hair look less oily and disgusting if you haven't had a chance to wash it or something. How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? Franken-polish? I don't know what that is... But I am totally okay with glitter in nail polish and my taste in colors in general pretty much carries over into my taste in colors in nail polish. How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? I actually love art supplies even though I am crap at art. Especially I love sketchbooks and erasers. How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? I feel great about Threadless tees. If you find one you think I'd like, then go for it! How do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I said this in-thread and probably multiple other places but I love lip balms! Seriously, I can never have enough. I try to find lip balms with all natural ingredients (no parabens, no petroleum products). I prefer twist-up tubes or tubes with a wand instead of pots or tins you stick your finger in but if a pot/tin is all that's available in a flavor you want to get for me then that's fine. Brands I like:I absolutely adore EOS Vanilla lip balm but I can NEVER find it in any drugstores around me. As I mentioned in-thread, I like My Lip Stuff. They are moisturizing and not greasy. The problem I have with them though is the "flavors" are more like scents because once you put them on the taste is kind of weird. The only flavor from MLS I've found that doesn't do that is Yoga and I'm considering ordering a few more tubes of it just because at $2.50 a tube for such a nice flavor, why not? *Edit!* Ahh! I lied! I found another flavor without a funky taste once applied! It's my "good guy" call me balm which I'm pretty sure is raspberry lemonade flavored. So I guess it's fruity/citrus-y flavors that are okay? More experimentation is required. I found this etsy store that has some lip things that look interesting. Here and here. I have my eye on some of their body things too. Especially the solid lotion stick. I also like Bunny Butt's lip balms (just not berry or chocolate flavor please). As for flavors I like, hmm I like citrus-y flavors (orange, lemon, lime, etc.) But I also like dessert-y flavors (whipped cream, cake, buttercream, ice cream, vanilla, etc.) I do like coffee and chocolate flavors but they have to be really rich, good flavors. A lot of the coffee and chocolate flavored lip balms I've come across have been weakly flavored and kind of plastiky tasting. I don't usually like berry flavored lip balm (unless it's a really good berry flavor). Berry flavoring usually tastes really chalky to me. Is there anyone here who likes toe socks? You know, those socks with a place for each toe? Yeah, love 'em! Food Teams Team beets: Ehhh, not so much. All the ones I've ever had have tasted like dirt... Team brussel sprouts: never had them. Team goat cheese: pretty tasty. Team red licorice: Not as bad as black licorice but still gross. Team black licorice: Blech. Yuck. I really dislike black licorice flavor in any form. I don't even like how it smells. Team mushroom: Yes, if they are cooked in something yummy. (mushrooms are one of those things that suck up the flavor of whatever they're cooked in or with which makes them super tasty.) Raw mushrooms are kinda eh. I don't really like them but I don't dislike them either. Like, I won't pick them out if they're in a salad or something that I'm eating if it was already made. Team marzipan: umm, I'm not entirely sure what this is. I think it's some kind of dessert? I would love to give it a try if it's something easily shippable. Team Cheesecake: Yes, yes, and more yes. Team Ginger: Oooh yeah! And I LOVE those ginger chews things! (regular and flavors) Team Mango: ehhh, I don't really know what it tasted like. I know I don't like artificial mango flavoring/scent but I don't think I've ever had a real mango. Dairy: Yes, please! Chicken: sure. I'm not a huge meat eater but when I do I like chicken the best. (And sushi but that's kinda different. I LOVE sushi but really dislike any other kind of seafood. Weird, huh. ) Raisins: yes. They're a yummy snack and good in bagels and muffins and stuff. Pumpkin: Hmmm, I like pumpkin pie. (LOOOVE pumpkin pie!) and roasted salted pumpkin seeds (awesome snack!) but in other preparations... i don't really know. Avocado: dunno, I don't really feel either way about avocado, really. Olives: EWWWW! They taste like blood to me. Garlic: yes. yum! Tofu: yes, generally. It's one of those things that sucks up all the flavor of whatever it's cooked in or with so usually it's yum. Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I love t-shirts! I pretty much live in them. 99.99% of my wardrobe is t-shirt and jeans. I would absolutely ADORE a t-shirt designed by my witch. Ummm, I don't know how to narrow down what I would like... I don't even know how to start. I guess it depends on what my witch wants to draw for a design. Can I have a category? New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? I don't like maple syrup.... Is everyone done gasping and swooning and throwing things in my general direction? Okay good... Yeah, I just don't like the flavor of maple all that much. I mean, it's okay, I won't gag and spit out a bite of food if it has maple syrup on it but I just don't really care for it. Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. I won't be opening ecards at work (I don't really check my email at work except every once in a while on my phone) and even if I did I'm sure my boss would get a kick out of me getting a racy ecard from my witch, so go for it! Anyone love Buffy/Angel? Ooooh! I do! Pick me! Pick me! How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? Oooh! I love gummy worms! The kind that are "sour gummy worms" with the sour powder on the outside that isn't really sour. How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? I'm assuming this is some kind of phone case thing? If so then yes, I would love one one for my phone. I have an HTC Incredible 2. Or maybe my Ipod? I have a classic size one. Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? I think I put this in my questionnaire but in case I didn't: I have 3 piercings in each lobe (18 gauge ish, normal ear piercing size), a cartilage piercing in my right ear (16 gauge) an industrial in my left ear (16 gauge, 1.5 in. long) and my bellybutton pierced (14 gauge). I am in the market for jewelry for all of these. I would like some captive bead rings for all my lobe piercings (I would like them all to match, silver is good. I'm okay with some solid colors as well. Purple or blue maybe, but generally I like all the jewelry in my piercings to be all silver.) And captive beads for all the cartilage piercings and my bellybutton. (Ditto on the silver/colors thing. I switch it up a bit more with my bellybutton, though lately I've just been keeping in a silver curved barbell.) *EDIT* Dear witch, I think I forgot to say anywhere I talked about piercings that I really don't like stud earrings. Straight barbells are fine. I like those. But the kind that are studs with a slip on back that gathers gunk inside of it, I really, really don't like. How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? Yum! interested in anything from Lush? I can only use very select thing from LUSH because they use SLS/SLES in their soaps and other icky chemicals in a lot of their stuff (I would totally just not use any LUSH stuff at all but their stuff that I can use is so good!). So only the things on my "other companies wishlist" or the Herbalism cleanser, Grease Lightning cleanser, and Tea Tree Water toner (I'm not sure if I put those three on the wishlist) Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? Yes! I love reading, that would be awesome. How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? Sure, why not? Anything you think is good and you think I should try. I'm not really a big drinker but I like to try things that other people recommend. What are your views on fudge and brownies? YUM! Yes, please! Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes Umm, I wouldn't say obsessively. I like to watch gymnastics and cheerleading competitions when catch them on tv. They are really the only sports I like to watch. How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? I LOVE notebooks/journals. I prefer lined to unlined. (I can't keep my writing straight on unlined paper, lol) Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? I'm fine with glitter. Fabulous witches and witchees, perhaps you all could note of you've received MeiLin's goodies? Or if you want? I've read her first book (I think it's her first?) Lovers and Beloveds and I want more! I want all the associated stories and stuff that go with it. They are available on her website I think for download. How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? YES!!!! I love soft plushie cuddly things. I would love a snail if that would be possible. But a frog is more common to find in plushie form so that would be my second choice. how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Sure! sounds cool. When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? A super fuzzy warm blanket (I loooove super fuzzy plush blankets), some ice cream or tasty coffee, and guilty pleasure fluffy drama shows to watch. Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? I do! I like sudoku and logic puzzles and riddles and those logic puzzles where the answer is obvious if you think about it the right way but it's not the way you normally think (did that make any sense at all?) I can't remember what they're called. Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? I prefer real paper books, but if it's a book or story or something I really want and it only comes in e-book form (Like MeiLin's stuff. There's some of her stuff that I haven't read and want to that only comes in ebook form) then I'll deal. I think my phone can do e-books (I don't have an ebook reader) but a pdf is fine. Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? Yes! That would be awesome! As I have mentioned, I am a huuuge coffee addict so a special mug would be perfect. What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? My #1 top I want it ALL but have very little chance of ever getting any more scent is De Sade. It was disconned before I had a chance to buy a bottle. I have a few imps but I would buy like 5 bottles, no joke, if I could. Next on the list would probably be Antique Lace. I have one bottle but I'm kind of hesitant to use it because it is doubtful that it will ever come back. *sniffle* I'm also running kind of low on my Goblin of Yuletide... Past? spray (whichever one smells like orange and clove.) and of course everyone loves that one so nobody wants to give it up, so I basically have no chance of getting more. If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Online Places: Babeland (NSFW, it's a sex toy website), SockDreams, Amazon, Bunny Butt Apothecary Physical Stores I can visit: Target, Barnes and Noble (though this one can work online too) Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? I LOVE office supplies. Pens, pads of paper, sticky notes, notebooks, pencil cases, boxes and containers to hold stuff... everything! Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? Why yes indeed! You can check my etsy wishlist and my other companies/non-BPAL wishlist for this info as well but I definitely have my eye on: Smiling Jack, Moundshroud, and Indian Summer. Bars of soap as well as scrubs (and lotion as well if she has lotion available in those scents.) I am really wanting some Lavender Truffle lotion. I haven’t bought any yet, I don’t know why, I just haven’t. But seriously I am craving Lavender Truffle. Lotion the most but I could definitely go for all three things in that flavor. Another scent I'd like lotion in (and soap and scrub as well but lotion is the main attraction here) is Man in the Moon. It just sounds so nice and smooth and relaxing. Some soap flavors I would really like to try are: The Queen is Dead and The Englishman (I am a leather fiend, even in soap. I just can't get enough I don't know how leather will work as a soap scent but I would very much like to find out.) You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? Hmmm, I am planning to make a lab Order of DOOM (I’m talking multiple hundreds of dollars. I’ve never really just let myself go wild on a BPAL order and I think it’s high time) after my next couple of paychecks come in. The next few pay periods for me are going to be pretty good because I’ve gotten a lot of hours at work lately and this upcoming Friday I’m working a 16 hour (or longer) day which means a pretty pay period. However, if I just had complete free reign and I didn’t have to worry about cost at all? It would probably look something like (there are NOT in order of preference, they are more like in order of category for ease of organization): Blood Moon ’11, Pallas Athene, Sonnet D’Automne, Pumpkin Princess, Pumpkin Latte ’11, Eledgy IX: The Autumnal, The Vampire Bride, Boo ’11, Autumn Cider, A Nocturnal Reverie, Golden Apple of the Sun, Silver Apple of The Moon, Halloween Vegas x2, Sprinklecake x2, The Gorobble x2, Sentimental Initiation x2, The Ta-Ta, The Seekim, Nightmare, Le Lethe, The Smiling Spider x2, TKO x2, Liz, Warx2, Crowley, Nanny Ashtoreth, Vixen x2, The Antikythera Mechanism x2, Morocco x2, Mouse’s Long and Sad Tale x2, The Red Rider x2, The White Rider x2, The Black Rider x2, The Bow and Crown of Conquest x2, Lyonesse x2, Snake Oil x2, How Doth The Little Crocodile x2, Prunella x2 (Can you tell I’m paranoid about all the GC discontinuations? ) As for BPTP, I just made an order for a few bath oils (I use them as moisturizer) and a room spray but then the update happened and I’m eyeing some of the Halloween stuff… so I guess my order would be (again, not in order of preference): Spun Sugar Spectre bath oil, Marshmallow Pumpkin bath oil, Candied Pumpkin perfume oil (pumpkin doesn’t always work on me but all the other notes sound so good I think this one’s worth a shot), Halloween shirt (size small crew neck), Fig and White Sandalwood hair gloss, Snake Oil hair gloss, Morocco bath oil, Snake Oil bath oil, Luxuria bath oil, TKO massage oil, Erebos atmosphere spray, Exotic Bazaar atmosphere spray, Mahogany Hall atmosphere spray, Purple sockfeetz, Pink sockfeetz, Black sockfeetz, Local 93 long sleeved tee (size small crew neck), The District babydoll tee (size med), Phoenix Steamworks tee (size small crew neck), Belladonna yoga pants (size med), Triple Dagger Yoga Pants (size M) Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. The soap I mostly use right now is Bunny Butt's Complexion Zen soap (<-- linky). It really helps keep the skin on my back and shoulders and chest clear. I am currently out of it actually. I need more. However, I do absolutely love Paintbox soaps. Lavender Truffle and Black Heart are my favorites. See my etsy wishlist or non-BPAL/other retailers wishlist for ideas of what I would like to try. Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? Phoenixes are very special to me. I am getting a tattoo of one on the back of my left shoulder and I have jewelry and shirts with stylized phoenixes. I would love pretty much anything decorated with a phoenix design. A box, bag or pouch, jewelry, clothing, whatever. what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? Hmm, I love tootsie rolls. And Those chewy caramel things with cream in the middle. I can never remember what they're called. OOH and Skittles! I love Skittles! M&Ms, KitKats, Cookies and Cream bars, Crunch bars, Heath bars... How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I do like just plain chocolate, milk, dark, and white. I really like just plain white chocolate, it's so creamy and delicious. (Yes, I know white chocolate isn't really chocolate. But I like it anyway.) Oh, lindt has these really good truffles. They're in a light blue bag, they're white chocolate with little cocoa bits in them. SO good! As for chocolate-with-stuff I like dark (or milk really) with orange a lot. I like chocolate with almonds and other various kinda of nuts. Do they make chocolate with walnuts? I'm kind of on a walnut kick right now. And I have always kind of wanted to try bacon chocolate. Just to see what it's like (and to say I did, you know?) I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! Go for it! I'm all for gently used stuff! Reduce, reuse, recycle, right? As long as it's in good condition and useable it's all good. I don't mind clothing, maybe not so much on undergarments or bathing suits or things like that, but like a t-shirt or shoes or something that's fine. I can always wash it. As for books, I really prefer them without highlighting, underlining or writing on the internal pages. Writing or marks on the inside of the covers or title/copyright pages I don't care about. Or ex-library books with all the markings that come with them are also fine. Hardcovers without dust jackets are totally okay, I usually take them off anyway. (I think I covered this in my questionnaire but in case I didn't, there ya go. lol) Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? Eh, not so much for me on the Disney postcard. Thanks though. Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I do use beads. I bead jewelry sometimes. I prefer beads that are made out of gemstones but really, any pretty beads will do. I've really been loving dichroic (sp?) glass lately. I don't know if they make dichroic glass beads but if they do, that would be so cool! Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! Sounds delicious! Yes please! Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? That would be awesome! I will love and cherish anything you craft me, really. As for scarf fabrics, if you're talking like decorative scarf, I would prefer silky or satiny fabrics. If you're talking keep-you-warm kind of scarf it really doesn't matter. Whatever's easiest for you to make it out of. Something that doesn't pull easily I guess because even though I will try to keep it away from the cats as much as possible, they will still get at it a little bit. As for what colors, my favorite color combinations are in my questionnaire. Maybe stay away from yellows and oranges because they clash with my skin and hair. I like purple, blue, green, black, white. This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? I love stones. I picked this up from my mom. She loves them even more than me. I love gemstones, polished or raw. And another question; anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek? I really like the plush microbes they sell. (I like the bookworm, the stem cell, the chicken pox, the egg cell, the flesh eating disease, the gangrene, the heartworm, the mad cow) I also really like the plush sushi. I love sushi. I also think these are pretty funny. And of course the Buffy fan in me is loving this. And the coffee fiend in me is clamoring for this one. are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? Yes! Twistappel (candle and wouldn't turn down soap), Just Right (candle and wouldn't turn down soap), Discord (candle only) What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? Author: it kind of switches around but I'm pretty consistently obsessed with Jacqueline Carey. (Other authors I tend to get fixated on include Stephen King and Sara Douglass). Musician: If I had to pick one I'd say Senses Fail. If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? I have lots of cats but I think they're pretty set on toys and treats and stuff. Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? None that I can think of. But hey, if you find something you think I'd like, go ahead and send it my way. If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? I hardly ever wear makeup. The closest I get to beauty products is the LUSH stuff I use to wash my face (herbalism cleanser, grease lightning, tea tree water). I have very pale skin and, if you couldn't tell from the LUSH products, breakout prone. And darkish blonde hair (though it is definitely blonde, just not light blonde.) that is very very straight and fine. Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? Oooooooh my goodness. I am a coffee FIEND. seriously. I love it. I prefer lighter roasts to darker. I like all kinds flavored and non flavored. Examples of flavors I like are: Vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, creamy and sweet flavors, there's a flavor sold in Target called Cinnamon Vanilla Nut that is awesome! (it's Archer Farms, Target's store brand. I know it's a store brand but I still really like it. They have tons of flavors.) I am willing to try pretty much anything so if you find something cool or you think I might like, send it my way! Couldn't hurt, right? I don't like tea as much but I will drink it. I tend to like teas with fruity flavors or flavors with spices (not spicy but assorted spices if that makes any sense). Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) There are a bunch of CDs on my amazon wishlist, any of which I would be very happy to receive. I prefer actual CDs or mp3s if that's easier for you. Like, if you wanted to email me some mp3s I wouldn't turn them down. Are you going away for any part of this round? Not planning on it. Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? Yes! I would love that! If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? Sure, that would be great! I would love to know that my witch was thinking about me even on their vacation time. Anything you think I would like would be awesome. Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? Hmm, I like being outside if the weather is nice. I don't particularly like "outdoor activities" like hiking, camping (well, camping is okay. Not like super-rugged camping. I'm talking about frou-frou, have-a-campsite-with-a-water-pump-and-showers type camping. ). And I really hate doing pointless exercise. By pointless exercise I mean like, going to the gym. When I'm running on a treadmill or something I feel like I'm doing it for no reason. It just feels pointless. Intellectually I know I'm doing it for a reason (to get healthy, to lose weight, whatever) but I just get so bored. I really prefer to be exercising for a reason. Like team sports practice or something where I have to to physical work but it's also fun. Any witchee's with a ravelry account have any favourited patterns that cost money that would be a welcome gift? I don't know how to knit. I wish I did. Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? I am! I used to be a HUUUGE Phantom of the Opera geek. I still am a little but nowhere near the level it used to be. I really love Avenue Q. Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? I do sometimes burn incense. For room scenting things I usually use room sprays or scented candles but I do use incense sometimes. I use sticks pretty much exclusively. I think I have a cone burner around somewhere but I know where my stick holder is so yeah. Almost any scent will be okay. Floral-y and "fresh" scents you might want to stay away from. Some high-quality florals are okay. Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? Eh, not so much a Harry potter fan. It's okay but I'm not all that into it. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? I come home, put on a little TKO (so soothing) and watch some mindless fluff TV (usually some dramatastic show like Toddlers and Tiaras or Nanny 911 or something like that. They are my secret guilty pleasure... They are an outlet for all the drama and stress in my life so I can get it out watching the show instead of it actually coming out at someone in my real life.) Maybe I will eat something yummy like some ice cream or a donut if we have any on hand or something like that. and I will snuggle in my super fuzzy blanket. (I am such a sucker for fuzzy blankets. You can NEVER have enough fuzzy blankets! ) What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? Eh, I'm not so much into comics. Graphic novels don't really hold my attention for very long. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? Heh, I wish! I used to play the flute forever ago in middle school. And I had a few lessons of playing the harp. I would kind of like to go back to that but that's just kind of an idle thought, it really won't amount to anything. Does anyone garden? And if you do, what do you grow? If not, would a starter garden kit be something you'd be interested in? Eh, not really much of a gardener. Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? I don't really do any Halloween decorating. I am hoping to go to Halloween party this year (in the past few years I haven't gone anywhere for Halloween so I'm excited to do something this year.) Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc?: Sure! From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? oooooohhhhhh man. I am planning the BPAL Order Of DOOM! I finally have some extra cash and I am going to go a liiiitle bit overboard on these Weenies (and some GCs because I am paranoid about discons.) I am really excited to try: The Gorobble, Sentimental Initiation, Sonnet D'Automne, The Ta-Ta, The Seekim, Boo (all of these sound great!). I would like to try Pumpkin Princess (pumpkin doesn't always work on my skin but all the other notes sound great!), Pumpkin Latte '11 (last year's was all spices on me, no coffee at all. Hopefully this year's is more creamy coffee.), Eledgy IX: The Autumnal (some of the notes on this one are iffy. Honey doesn't always work on me) and I'd like to try Blood Moon '11 (blood scents never work on me but the other notes sound good. So I'm torn...) Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I use nail polish occasional. I am on the lookout for a really nice deep chocolate brown though. Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? Yes. It's from a Jacqueline Carey book. One of the Kushiel's Lineage series (the third one I think. Kushiel's Avatar.) The quote is: Fear and lies fester in darkness, the truth may wound but it cuts clean. The moment I read it it completely resonated with me and I've been trying to live by it ever since. Also I'm in the early (very early) stages of considering a tattoo of it. Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... Oooooh, that's tough. It depends on if I'm in a foody mood or dark incense-y resin-y mood. Or both! Let's go foody. Maybe a sweet, creamy, coffee, vanilla latte type scent. Oh! maybe layers! Like a layered candle with a layer of sweet vanilla buttercream and a layer of coffee and cream and a layer of... maybe chocolate hazelnut. I'm picturing a pillar candle or maybe a jar candle. Fairly large like, each layer maybe an inch or so thick or more. Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? YES! I don't know how to knit and I wish I did. I would feel so special if you knit something for me (or had someone knit something for me). As the weather gets colder I will need a scarf and gloves (can you knit gloves?) or mittens (I'm fairly sure you can knit mittens). Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? Oh yes! Bring 'em on! Please be aware that while I have no dietary restrictions, my mother is a vegetarian (she doesn't eat animal products that often show up in baked goods like lard, and gelatin) and I do like to share with my family. So, what you send me DOES NOT have to be veggie but if it is not please label it as such so I know not to share. Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers I do, but my hair is very fine and doesn't really like to stay in clips and stuff. But I do use ponytail holders, claw clips, and headbands (especially those headbands that are basically like giant ponytail holders but have grippy stuff on the inside...) What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? OMFG you have no idea this list is huge. Basically all the bolded GCs on my wishlist. I'm planning a BPAL order of doom... very GC heavy, when my next check clears.

    Smoky, Leathery Goodness

I am a huge fan of smoky leather scents myself and I kind of hesitate to even suggest this but my favorite smoky leather scent *EVER* is De Sade (The essence of pleasure heightened by pain: the raw scent of leather). It is the holy grail of smoky leather but first you need to track some down. Another good leather and smoke scent is Doc Constantine (Sheer musk, cedar smoke, fir needle, black amber and leather.) if he doesn't mind some pine as well. To me Doc Constantine smells like standing in a Christmas tree lot next to a wood fire while wearing a leather jacket. Dee (soft English leather, rosewood and tonka with a hint of incense, parchment and soft woods) is also good but that's more leather and herbs to my nose than leather and smoke. Hope that helps! *edit, left out a word

    The Butterfly

In the bottle The Butterfly is soft citrus and not much else. It was really hot yesterday so I decided that soft citrus would be really nice On my skin The Butterfly starts out very citrusy with the tonka and amber very soft and delicate underneath. As it dries the citrus kind of reaches a balance with everything else and it turns out to be a much more complex and beautiful scent that I expected. There is a lovely woody and slightly spicy-incensey scent to it yet it's still sweet. I like it a lot and I think this bottle is going to get a lot more wear than I originally thought.

    Carnations

Seconding the rec. for Inez! (Golden amber, vanilla musk, myrrh, cedar, carnation, and red sandalwood) It's the first thing that came to mind when I read the title of your post. To me it's very carnation-y but with dark, amber-y undertones. She's part of the Carnival Diabolique which is technically limited edition but is still available on the lab's website.

  25. I always, always, always think of so many things to add as soon as I send in my questionnaire... so I figured I might as well make up another blog post for them because the list was getting kind of long. I can't believe I forgot one of my favorite animals: SNAILS! I love them! I think it's because of the way the question was phrased. It was more about what animals have significance for you. And phoenixes and yellow butterflies have particular significance for me but snails are just my favorite. Anything with a snail on it I will love. I have multiple stuffed animal snails and shirts with snails and I rescued one from the place I used to work (it's kind of a long story but I'm more than willing to tell if you want to hear!)... they're just so awesome and cute! I reeeeeaaallly like buttons. The ones with witty and clever sayings you pin on your jacket or bag. (there are a ton on my etsy wishlist). I love things that look like other things and miniature stuff. For example, I have a strange fascination with miniature food (there are also examples of this on my etsy wishlist in the form of miniature food jewelry.) Wallets that look like notebook paper and book safes are other good examples (also from the etsy wl). I’ve been itching for a new avatar on the forum but I’m not really all that good at creating them for myself. So if you’re good at making icons or can get someone to do it for you, a set of custom icons with and without my forum name would be so cool! Maybe with a corset theme? People have been telling me lately that my forum name sounds dirty… (Which, yes, it kind of does. But I didn’t mean it that way at the time I promise!) So... I think a set of icons with a corset theme paired with my name would make for an interesting combination. Lately I’ve been trying to expand my perfume horizons. So I guess what I’m trying to say is I am really looking to try the non-BPAL perfumes on my wl on the forum and on etsy (like Arcana, DSH, Conjure, Morbid The Merrier, HAEE, etc.). That’s not to say I don’t want BPAL (heaven forbid! ) but I’ve just been branching out a little… I really love MeiLin’s writing. I have her first book (Lovers and Beloveds) and the ebook anthology that she wrote a story for but she has a new ebook short story out that I haven’t bought yet. (Actually there are two I think? The Gratification Engine and Accounts. I don’t have either.) I don’t have an e-reader or anything so it would have to be a PDF. But that’s something I would love to receive! I like that *ahem* type of writing in general (overshare? I do tend to do that… lol sorry). I also really LOVE the Kushiel’s series by Jacqueline Carey. I used to have all the books but I loaned the first 4 to someone and never got them back. I love notebooks! The blank pages of a new notebook are so full of promise. (I do prefer lined notebooks to blank ones though. Somehow I can never seem to keep my writing straight on unlined pages. ) Any size is fine. Spiral or bound. Oh… and this is kind of random, but you know the questionnaire about what kind of shoe would you be? I bought shoes the other day that are almost exactly what I was thinking of when I answered that question. I didn’t realize it until I was reading my own witchee’s questionnaire and got to the shoe question. I thought you might want a visual answer, lol! Here they are sitting on the floor. (you can see my former favorite and tallest heels in the background). And on my feet. Yes, I can actually walk in them without breaking my neck, I promise! Another random thing: Please ignore my stash manager thing here on the forum. I really don’t keep up with it. The “my stash” link in my sig is much more accurate and updated. Whew... Okay that was kind of long. Sorry about that. I try to give as much info as I can because I know I like as much info about my own witchees as I can get!
