  1. I would have never thought that it was possible, but I have actually found a Moon scent that I liked more than Blue Moon! If this is a prelude of things to come, then I am really looking forward to the next installments.

Red moon smells like cherries at first, then settles into a grapefruit, before turning into a sweet honeysuckle scent. YUM!

I am so glad that I picked this up when I did and that it got to me when it did. Another day of waiting, and I wouldn’t have been there to get it and it might have blown away in the hurricane.

I was very lucky with this one, as it didn't overpower me when I was riding in the car for so long, and actually helped calm me down quite a bit as I was driving. I am in awe of you guys!

  2. A deep, powerful, resonant blend of myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, lime, vanilla, pine, almond and clove.

Ok, so far so good. There's vanilla in it, which I really like, and clove...but pine? Hmm...I don't doubt Beth, so its high time I got to sniffing.

In the Bottle: The sweet almond smell is thankfully cut by the pine scent. How odd. Not together unpleasant, but odd. I'll give it a shot.

On Me: You know, normally I run to scrub when I smell that much almond, but this isn't bad at all! The vanilla is the smell that wafts up to my nose as long as it isn't firmly attached to my wrist, But on my wrist there is a slight wood smoke scent, made sweeter just a touch by the almonds.

Even as a speak, the flames begin to die down into something tangy and citrusy. I think its the lime. Its drifting on the back burner there, and it adds a whole new depth and dimension to this one. More of the lime is beginning to come through now with the vanilla, and its a smooth yogurt smell that is wafting up through the forest.

    I think I'm in love! :P

  3. I recieved this one as a freebie in one of my orders. I can't believe that I only have 6 more to go with another one arriving any day now! Maybe I shouldn't get so much at once?

    NAH!!!! :P

In the Bottle: Quite a soapy musk quality to it. There is a slight orchid quality to it, but not too much.

On Me: It started out with a slight lemon tinge to it that made me cringe. Now its gone down to a slight orchid/patchouli smell that reminds me of almost a Mountain Dew scent. That's weird. Not that I mind it, but it is certainly not what I was expecting of Oberon.

It is rather crisp and fresh, and now begins to be mellowing into more of an orchid scent. I don't recognize a berry smell in this at all, which is probably for the best. The floral blend that I smell right now is faintly masculine, and growing more so all the time. Not that I would want my hubby to wear this though, he smells so much better in spice than floral. Besides the fact, I might have to pin him down to put it on him;)

This is starting to live out my expectations though. I see a long, haired man (think Legolas, if you want. I keep thinking of Sesshomaru from Inuyasha for some odd reason.) lying in a mossy field of flowers with a look of cool confidence on his face. His back is to a mighty Oak, its branches twined with orchids and mistletoe. His face is turned towards the small glimmers of sunlight that come through the branches when the wind blows by. His bright blue eyes are far away, perhaps dreaming of his love, perhaps dreaming of conquest.

    :sigh:

  4. In the Bottle: Bounce dryer sheets:) Another scent that makes me think of laundry. God, I've got to do laundry today. If this is the type of reminder that I get, I'll be a happy camper.

On Me: Its a slight rain scent, but very crisp and clean. A dryer sheet, laundry detergent smell. I like this a lot. But it does start to fade rather quickly. I don't think that its necissarily a "after the rain" scent, at least not here. It has a decidedly green tinge to it, though its very pastel green. It kinda remindes me of the green of the ocean (and yes, it looks green). Just the color, not the smell. But totally aquatic. I like:)

  5. In the Bottle: Pixie sticks? That's what it smells like...pixie sticks! Ok, I like pixie sticks...

On Me: Well...its definately not pixie sticks, althought the smell is still lingering in my nose. Its changed to a wax flower smell when I put my nose on my wrist, but I still smell pixie sticks in the air. Its light and airy on my skin, while sweet and fruity when I'm not smelling it. I kid you not, pixie sticks. Its not an unpleasant smell, just...I'm surprised.

I like it. Its a keeper!

  6. Mmmm....lavender....gotta try it.

In the Bottle: Quite a lemon soap smell to it. The lavender is hardly even there. Funny, I don't remember seeing anything on lemons or lemon verbena in this one. That's rather odd.

On Me: Ah HA! Neroli turns to lemon candy on me too! Bugger! However, this is lemon candy with a hint of a musty lavender smell if I put my nose to my wrist. I'm not tempted to do that very often, however, because this one is Uber Strong. My hubby would love it. I, on the other hand, am not so certain. I have quite a few that turn to lemon on me, and this one is really strong. I'll keep it for the hubby, and pray for a good dry-down, but if this continues to get much stronger, I will have to go scrub it off.

On second thought, its really making me sick to my stomach, so I am going to put this one in the swap pile.

  7. In the Bottle: The Raven is soapy, but lightly floral, like dishwashing liquid. This isn't really what I was expecting, but certainly not a bad smell. In fact, I'm rather partial to it.

On Me: Wow, what a change! Now this is more of what I expected. There is the distinct smell of iris, which I absolutely adore! And now, once again, it begins to change as the white sandalwood begins to come out. The violet is intermingled with it, and it compliments each other brilliantly. Its a slight musty, like books. This certainly makes me think more of Edgar Allen Poe than the Indian totem of Raven.

This will be on my big bottle list!

  8. I loved the champagne in Shattered, and I love strawberries, so already that's 2 for 0 against.

In the Bottle: Not as close to Shattered as I thought. I can really smell the alcohol tang in this one with the champagne and the strawberry is nothing but an afternote. I'm hoping that this doesn't smell as boozy on my skin.

On Me: The booziness is gone (yay!) and it smells like strawberries soaked in champagne, which is something that I got to experience in Germany as a child. In fact, it reminds me of it so much that I'm going to have to share this scent with my Mother and Mother-in-law. It does smell quite a bit like Shattered, but with a nice strawberry scent. I am SO in heaven. This will be a big bottle for me for certain!

Slathering now! God, I could bathe in this scent!!

  9. I got this one as a swap from da Minx. It wasn't even on my "got to get now" list, so let's see if this is a keeper.

In the Bottle: I actually smell the florals first and in the background a light cedar quality. That's totally backwards from what everyone else has said. Weird.

On Me: Now the cedar is really out, but the tea roses are still more prevalent. Now here comes the lilac to help win the day, but continues to play peek-a-boo with the wood notes, much like someone opening and shutting a huge wooden door to a room of flowers. It wafts in on the breeze along with the smell of the door.

There is a slight smoky quality, more like swirling, dancing smoke, such burning cedar chips and leaving the embers to smolder. For some strange reason I am thinking of Madam Trelauney in the tower for Divinations class. The smell of burning incense, rosehips from the teas, the cedar and teak from the boxes that hold crystal balls, and the wands and tables. The slight floral scent from her incense and purfume. All of that comes through beautifully, and seems to really be staying with me. As one scent fades slightly, another takes its place, only to be rejoined later on. Like a type of dance.

    I'm definately keeping this one!

  10. Violets and Vanilla. Yum! Who can go wrong with that? Let's see...

In The Bottle: The Violets and Gardenia really blend together nicely. I can't smell the vanilla yet, but man doesn't the gardenia blend nicely with the violets? So far, I'm a happy camper.

On Me: Hmmm...its not as strong as it most people said. I could still wear three swipes and not be gagging. This is good. Although, the violet/gardenia blend isn't as good as I had thought in the bottle. Its kinda sickeningly sweet. Actually I think the gardenias are being a little overpowering so far. I can really smell thier fragrance more. Could be because I'm allergic to the pollen.

The violets are starting to make a come-back now, and there is that nice blend that I smelled in the bottle. Mmmm...entranced, seduced. This is extremely feminine and a floral that I am VERY happy with. As a violet smell, I still prefer Ultraviolet, but this is beautiful. Especially now that the vanilla is glowing through a bit.

Bigger bottle for me in the future, slathering now!

  11. Ok, even before I open the imp, I am having an argument in my head. One part is going "Lemon Verbena always turns to bright lemon candy on you, and I think I've had just about enough of that. Put it back into the cabinet and pick another imp!" and the other half is going "Vanilla smells gorgeous on us and always comes through the most! Don't just put it on, SLATHER it! I LOVE me some vanilla!"

So, I guess I better at least try the imp before one of them shoots the other one.

In The Bottle: Zephyr is definately "purfumey". There is a light hint of lemon, but I think that the white musk is coming through more, giving it that "normal purfume" smell. I can certainly smell the vanilla glowing in the bottle there. So far, I love the smell. I'm cringing and putting it on my wrists now.

On Me: WOAH! NO LEMON SMELL!! I smell vanilla glowing on my skin again! In the background there is a distinct smell of white musk, and the two together are just blending perfectly.

Uhoh....a hint of lemon in the background. :Pushes the lemon down: Stay down!! Stay down!! This isn't your turn!! Its not so much lemon candy right now either, it is a light lemon fragrance. As long as it stays that way, we should be good.

Wait...the lemon must be playign peek-a-boo because I smell vanilla glowing again. No more lemon. And...now its coming back again all faint like. Its a lemon hunt! But, the white sandalwood is escorting it so it doesn't get out of control. The vanilla is still rocking the forefront!

I'm loving this! Pure love! I see a big bottle in the future for me!!

  12. In the Bottle: Magus is all sandalwood on the first sniff. There's a crisper note in the back when you inhale sharply, but that is about it. But this is good, sandalwood is VERY good!

On Me: Mmm...there's the complexity! The sadalwood smell is still here, but there is another scent there that I can't place. It makes me think of old libraries with dusty tomes waiting to be opened to find the mysteries inside.

Now the citrus smell is starting to come through, and it just adds to the atmosphere. It "charges" the original scent, not really taking over. Oh! I can't keep my nose away from my wrist!! Could this be an occupational hazard?? Beth, do you guys get hazard pay when you're testing scents and you can't keep your nose off of your wrist? Can I use this to my advantage? (I'm sorry dear, I couldn't do laundry today because my nose was permanently affixed to my wrist because of a magician's library smell.)

Oh wait....its going...don't go! Now there's just the fainest of scents in the background. No fair! I'm wondering if its because its that time again. Oh well. I still love it though!

  13. I always loved the tales of Scherezade and her 1,001 nights! I am really hoping that this does her justice, along with appeasing my appetite for a good Middle Eastern scent!

In the Bottle: It is strangely floral and light. Could that be the saffron? I'm not sure, I don't knwo what the individual note smells like. Could it be lotus? Or is it the red musk? I'm not sure at all, but it is very light. Hmmm...not as spicya s I would have hoped.

On Me: Wow...a very crisp floral scent. Wait...its changing already. There is some sort of scent that I keep thinking must be red musk. Its light, feminine, but it is still there, like an oil that Sherezade must have used to coat her hair before she told her tales every night.

But its changing on me again already...now its nearly invisible! Its very hard to detect and I think its becoming a little more powdery. That musk scent is still there, but its light, translucent, a slight shimmering powder.

And now...gone. Less than 5 minutes and its gone. I love the scent even though it wasn't quite what I was hoping that it would be, but the staying power sucks. Wait...now its playing peek-a-boo on me.

So I slather. More on my wrists, a drop on each earlobe, 4 passes through my hair, and a dab on the front of my dress. Wait a minute...now I think I'm getting it! In the Middle East, women of this importance were layered in oils once they got out of the baths. I can see why this fragrance is so light now! I can imagine Scherezade steppign out of the baths and rubbing this oil all over her body and hair in preparation of her next tale.

Ok, the slathering saved this imp big time! I like it a lot more now that I understand it a bit better. This just made my big bottle list.

  14. Ok, I am a little apprehensive about this one because of the gardenia scent. I love the smell of gardenias but, like Magnolias, I am really allergic. I'm really hoping that it isn't that bad on me.

In the Bottle: Veil reminds me of Delirium. Its a soapy smell, light and slightly floral. Maybe a bit watery? Its hard to tell.

On Me: I can't believe that I thought that this smelled like Delirium! It is much more green, not as soapy as I had thought orignally, and the lilac can really come through on this one. I can't keep my nose off of my wrists at all! This is a very light floral with that green scent that makes me think of a fresh wreath of flowers on a hot day, with a blanket spread under you so that you don't get your dress dirty, but your fingers slightly stained with the green of the stems as you weave.

    Ah...heaven!

  15. I recieved this as a bonus to an order that I recieved after I made a specific order for it, so I should have another imp of this to swap to da Minx when it comes in. I was looking at the ingredients and hoping beyond hope that the lemon verbena doesn't overpower the honeysuckle in this. I LOVE honeysuckle! You don't get enough of it in Florida, and I used to love them smell of the vines of them when I lived in Tennessee.

In the Bottle: I can really smell the honeysuckle! Mmmm...its heavenly sweet and reminds me of sucking the nectar off of honeysuckle stamens when I was a kid. God I loved the taste of honeysuckle!

On Me: Wow...how sweet! But...wouldn't you know it, the lemon verbena is really starting to overpower the other scents. No...wait...that was quick...now its an odd scent...a glowing scent. Ahhh...now I smell it, that Double Bubble Gum scent. Its bright and pink and very childish. If there was anything that reminded me more of my middle school days in Tennessee, this was it. Bubble gum and Honeysuckle. Its funny that you can re-live your youth with a scent. This kinda makes me wonder what happened to all those people that I used to know as I was growing up.

*Sigh* Another highly nostalgic scent! I love it!!

  16. Uhoh...lemon verbena. I wonder if it will come out smelling like anything else OTHER than lemon candy.

In the bottle: I can definately smell the lemons, but there is an earthier note that I can't quite place. Not so much sandalwood, but a mossy kind of smell. Here's to hoping that it keeps that scent!

On me: Lemon candy. Nope...wait...lemon pledge. Crap. Maybe it will mellow out to a lesser degree. One can only hope, but right now the lemon is WAY strong. I'll keep it, because I do like the scent...maybe as a linen fragrance.

  17. Ok, this is the third one that I've tried today, so hopefully the hubby won't make me wah this one off.

In the Bottle: Wow. Smoke. Like a Wood fire! I love that smell!

On Me: Wow! This is a nice smoky smell! This smells like a bonfire of brush and small pine branches. This smells like camping and makes me want to roast some marshmallows!

This is a keeper! Definately! Third time is the charm!!!

  18. I got this one from da Minx in a swap. My hubby is right around the corner so...maybe I'll give it a go.

In the bottle its sweet almonds. Way sweet! Like roach spray sweet. Not a good smell.

On me: I can detect cinnamon and something else that I'm not sure of at all. Wait...red licorice. Cinnamon and red licorice. I can tell its cinnamon by the way that my wrist is faintly burning. What an odd combo.

Now let's try it on the sulky hubby. And the verdict....ew.

No, I think this one is going in the swap pile. I can't really call it a pile since there are only 3 there:) Beth, if you can make a oil that my hubby finds irresistable, I think I'd buy a gallon of it!

  19. In the bottle...WOW! Sandalwood! Its really acidic too, makes my nose wrinkle up. I sniffed it again to make certain that it wasn't a fluke, but its still there. This time I detect a little bit of floral behind it. The sandalwood is still overwhelmingly powerful though.

On me: Now I can smell the lavendar! The sandalwood smell is nearly completely gone, and now its just the glow of lavendar! There may be another floral mixed in, since as my nose leaves my wrist there is a sweeter note there that I can't detect otherwise, but the lavendar is what comes through the most! Its such a lovely scent, but it is VERY powerful. Overwhelmingly so. In fact, my husband walked into the room and walked right back out because he said that it was too powerful. I'm hoping that it dies down a little bit more for him.

As for any powerful emotions of memories, it just reminds me of the flower shop when we were putting together a woman's bridal boquet. Nothing too memorable, nor does this really invoke dreams. The scent is too powerful for me to think about putting it on my pillow or anything.

Overall, I like it a lot. My hubby doesn't though, so I'm hoping that the scent changes soon.

  20. I had initially got this because of the black orchid. I love the smell of orchids. I'm hoping that I can really tell the difference in the bottle.

In the bottle Queen Mab is definately orchids and roses. It smells wonderful!

On me I can just barely smell the sandalwood. The Orchid smell comes out first, followed by the light smell of the roses. MmMm...Gorgeous! I love it. Its feminine without being too light at all. Another keeper!

  21. So, I am hoping that the fact that I am totally sick doesn't interfere with my imp testing today. Its hard for me to smell, so things might not be right at all. You have been warned.

Jolly Roger smells a lot sweeter in the bottle than I thought that it would. It smells like a sweeter version of Lightning actually. I like it. Not only do I like it, but I think that my friend that swears that she would love to bathe in Lightning would like it too. I need to keep this in mind for Christmas.

3 swipes of the wand on my wrist today, since I'm having so much trouble sniffing. On me, I can smell the leather a lot more clearly, but it isn't real heavy, like in Iago. Iago is very much a male scent with the leather, but this is a lot more feminine. There is a woodsy tang to it that I like as well. Hmm...is it drying down to a floral on me, or is that just the fact that I have a headcold? Regardless of which, I love this scent. This is very nice indeed. On me, it isn't much like Lightning after all.

This is a nice perk up for me since I feel so crappy. :P

  22. So, my lovely Minx sent me an imp of this oil after I stupidly missed the time limit. I am SO thankful for the Minx! Much much much thanks!!!

So its been sitting in my oil chest for about a week waiting for me to put my fingers around it. I try to test imps at random, since I have so many that came in at once, and I'm suprised that I haven't tried it on yet. I can smell it even out of the bottle, and its been luscious. My whole chest smells like Blue Moon! ::drool::

In the bottle it is berries. Fruity and clean and crisp. It actually reminds me of Jucity Fruit gum. Wow, that brings back a lot of memories for me. Its my favorite kind of gum, and it is something that I will alwas associate with my Dad and our relationship before things got sour right after my 16th birthday. I can remember getting into his car and smelling that fruity Juicy Fruit smell even after I was grown up and had kids of my own. All I had to do was sniff at the air a bit, and he would be pulling the Juicy Fruit out of his hiding place to hand me a piece of gum. I can smell it in my Mom's purse too, and she'd do the same.

You know that a scent is going to be fantasic when it invokes such powerful memories. And I haven't even put it on yet. Its still in my nose though. I can see why the Minx thinks so highly of this one:)

On me wet, the smell is very berries, as long as I don't put my nose to my wrist. On my wrist, it smells like doctor's rubber gloves. No kidding. It's that acrid latex smell that makes my nose curl up. Yuck. How could something so pretty in the bottle smell this terrible on my skin?

Its beginning to die down now, and the berry smell is coming back. In fact, the latex is now completely gone. Thank goodness. Now it smells like it did in the bottle smell again. I guess I'll just have to live through the agonizing wet stage before the scent becomes true again. When I put it in my hair, it smells true...no latex smell.

This is very nice! The berry smell isn't as powerful on me as in the bottle, but its kind of like strawberries. The scent is really ahrd to pin down other than that. Maybe its the moonflower. I noticed the same scent in Moon Rose. I love this. I am so happy that Minx sent it to me. If Red Moon is half as great as this I am going to be really happy.

  23. In the bottle, Namaste is sandlewood and a sweet undertone with a slight acrid, citris tang.

On me, wow...I should have guessed...lemons. Lemon candy scent again. Wierd. I don't remember there being anything in the description about lemon verbena. Don't I have enough lemon candy scents? Actually, now that I smell a little more, this lemon candy has a bit of a orange/tangerine scent to it as well. Ok, so I guess it is a little different. I liked the smell in the bottle better.

Final verdict: I think I have enough lemon scents, but I love the smell in the bottle. Maybe I can burn it in the insense burner or make it into a linen spray or something.

  24. One thing's for certain, I should never smell this on an empty stomach again!

In the bottle, Jack is pumpkin bread! Mmm! It really makes me want to go on a baking spree. I can't smell the peach at all, but lots of nutmeg and pumpkin. Instead of giving me thoughts of Halloween, it gives me Thanksgiving thoughts where for breakfast I usually make a pumpkin bread loaf.

On me, there's the peach! I can only smell it if I put my nose to my wrist. Other than that, its still very pumpkin bread, but the peach is starting to come out a lot more. In fact, the peach is now overtaking the pumpkin bread smell until the pumpkin is just an afternote. Could it be that Jack is a lot more complex than I thought when I first smelled it?

Oh my goodness this is lovely! Definately a big bottle for me!
